First timer here and the food blew is away, in a fabulous way 🎉Simple menu, and food is simply unpretentious and delicious. Chicken white meat based menu, paired with soup and rice. Its clean, its tasteful, its just good. If youre in this neighborhood you should give this place a try! 🤩🍲🌈👋

Order via uber eats . Easily to be the best chicken rice in SF for me ! Love that staff always pay attention for my special request . Even they increase the price but still cheaper than other places, especially when you compare the quality and the portion of the food ! Keep it up guys !

Ordered and paid to eat there, got my food, and only after giving me my food did they tell me that they’re “closed early for dine-in” and I’d have to leave.Not only that, but she was rude about it and told me it was my fault for not asking.Why would I assume otherwise? The place was still open, no chairs were up, and she didn’t ask me if I wanted to dine in or takeout.0/10 wouldn’t return due to this interaction.

The store is a bit small. Looks more like a to go place. Take out only. There was no wait. Cashless payment by credit card is available.Ordered on the spot took and it took about 5 mins.This place is legit, it’s exactly something you can find in Thailand. Their ginger rice is so aromatic and tasty. Their sauce is also really good on rice.Natcha was helpful and nice. Chicken in soup with spinach was also delicious. Super flavorful. Chicken was tender and juicy. I highly recommend this place for Thai chicken rice (khao man gai) would go back if I was ever in the neighborhood.

Im rating this a 4.7, however Google does not give a me this option I must choose 5, as it is obviously not a fine dining 4.7 is the highest I can rate this wonderful establishment.....its cleanliness is above expectations always. The service is absolutely fantastic, fast, quick. The food is honestly the best tasting and feeling food, for its simplicity is actually wonderfully complex and delicious... Definitely the cleanest, freshest place on Haight st, upper or lower districts ...

I accidentally found this restaurant on my way to the Japanese garden. I ordered a traditional chicken rice and it was certainly delicious like eating this plate in Thailand. Sorry for taking this picture during the middle of my lunch.

Mediocre as can be. Chicken was dry and bland. Rice was literally a blob. Being as that’s all they serve here there’s not much more to say other than the restaurant stunk of used cooking oil despite their front doors pried wide open. Not even that cheap considering the low quality.

No frills takeout only spot with a few chairs/tables to sit down. food was pretty good and came out quickly. the mixed chicken combo with two desserts was also very affordable at $15/pp post tax and tip!we ordered the mixed chicken combo and they originally gave us just hainan chicken but were quick to fix the issue. appreciate the service.mixed chicken combo: hainan chicken, katsu chicken, rice, and broth were the standouts! also loved the sauce for the chickenmango sticky rice: classic dessert and exactly what i expected. good but not mindblowingthai pudding with coconut topping: surprisingly enjoyed this dessert. reminds me of maja blanca a filipino dessert!

Stopped by the new spot on Geary today. Really friendly staff, the chicken was top-notch, and the sauce was to die for. Love the simple menu that lets the quality of the ingredients shine. Will definitely be back!

Im a big fan of the chicken and rice dish thats getting more and more traction! This place does a good job! Quick and easy service. Rice is key to this dish and the rice was great! Sauce was on point as well. Super garlicky as it should be! Glad this place is around. They were super nice and I hope this place flourishes in this spot.

Originally I ordered the chicken and rice soup and it lacked of flavour.However, What The Cluck reached out to ensure that my needs were met. They offered me the Classic Khao Man Gai free of charge and it did not disappoint. The chicken was tender, and the rice was cooked to perfection. When combined with the sauce it made for an enjoyable meal.Thank you for the meal

A no frills fast food joint that specialized in one thing - chicken and rice. The chicken was tender and the rice was pretty tasty. Was a little disappointed their thai milk tea was a bottled version. Their washroom was a bit dirty and acted as a storage room. All and all, if you want a quick bite this is the place to go

Was looking to grab takeout from a different restaurant today, but it was unfortunately closed when I rolled up. Checked yelp to see what other eateries were open, and What the Cluck showed up. Thank god, it was open!Walked in right after opening, and I was the only one there. I asked the worker /(owner?) what a first-timer should try, and he said their original chicken & rice plate. I said ok, and i also added a chix & rice soup. Then I just waited a few mins for my order to be prepared, and walked out with a full bag of food.Got home, started to feast. Tried the chix & rice soup first. Really comforting, the broth is yummy with a little bit of chicken fat, and the spinach adds a nice vegetable component. Then I tried the chix & rice combo. Seems like a simple concept, cooked chicken over rice, with a nice flavorful sauce. The rice is good and fluffy, moist, holds the sauce nicely. Overall, I was very satisfied with trying What the Cluck, prices are generally in the $10-12 range so pretty good value for the food and the comfort level in this pandemic period. Thanks!

What a great little hole in the wall. Clean with a simple menu of 5 chicken and rice items. We walked over from Golden Gate Park and ordered 3 chicken and rice soup which was amazingly fresh tasting and perfect after a chilly day outside. My picky kids were slurping it down!

Cherylynn N, a Yelper and friend has a thing for poached chicken and rice no matter if its thai or hainese. So when I broke news to her about WTC, she was ecstatic. I promise her that Ill let her know when theyre about to open. I even went as far as to find out if there is sidewalk seating so TT (furbaby) can join her. Unfortunately they dont. Sorry TT! 🐶WTC replace Haight Street Gelato with minor tweaks for a different outlook than before. Seating is limited to just counter with back behind ordering counter. I got the classic bowl comes with a side of soup. Chicken has super tender texture mouth-watering juicy slivers. You get some white and dark meat. Skin is attached on every piece being same size meaning no mixed and match just cut and serve as is. Rice is a little mushy, but taste good with fragrance and flavorful. Now I am eyeing the ultimate bowl. Service is quick and efficient in and out under five minutes tops. Theres no public restroom or WiFi, but there is 10% discount to all locals. For the price, you cant go wrong here. Good luck trying to find a deal like this in the Fidi.

When you go and ask for extra adds for dish, check before leaving. Last two times I went there I added some extra toppings, payed for them, just to realize when back home that they were missing. Two times in a row! 😡
