Our server was so nice and helpful with menu selections. The pulled pork sandwich was probably some of the best pulled pork Ive ever had. The mac and cheese was pretty good. The farm salad was not my fave. We also had the dirty brisket fries which were superrrrr good but super rich so we couldnt eat much. We enjoyed our experience and are excited to come back and try something else on the menu next time

10/10 will come back again! Rebecca was great! We had the Ahi Nachos to start. My boyfriend got the Whiskey and Rye Burger with fries and Mac and cheese, and I got the Smoked Beef Brisket with beans and side salad. Everything was so delicious and the portions were huge! We both had to take our leftovers home. 😋 We still had a little room for dessert, so we finished off with the carrot cake.

Wow!!! This isnt your ordinary bbq place. We had the Brisket Dirty fries and that was amazing!! Also had the beet salad which was delicious. Service was friendly and full of energy. Definitely coming back again.

The host and waitress were friendly and inviting. The atmosphere was enjoyable and relaxing. Our waitress Dacota greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond. Dacota recommended food and drinks to us that were delicious. The spicy watermelon sour is a nonalcoholic beverage. However, I added Malibu rum to it. It was absolutely delicious. We started with the cast-iron cornbread appetizer that was topped with honey butter. The cornbread was moist. It had a little kick to it with the jalapeño bits inside. I enjoyed the cob steak salad with the green goddess dressing. The only complaint that I have is… being that it’s a barbecue restaurant… I was hoping that the bacon would have been fresh bacon and not bacon bits from a bag. My husband ordered the whiskey fried chicken sandwich with barbecue baked beans and three cheese mac & cheese. The chicken was crisp and juicy. The macaroni and cheese was cheesy and filling. The barbecue baked beans, spiced and flavored just right.

This is one of the blandest briskets I’ve ever had in my life. No smoke flavor at all. Should have known when I walked up to pick up my order I didn’t smell no smoker outside more did I see on. Corn beard was already cold when I got to my suv to start snacking. I’ve been smoking my out meats for 15 years and this reminds me the first time I ever tried to smoke a brisket. I’m so disappointed. To top it off $45 for this.

We stopped for dinner for date night while on a family vacay and we are so glad we did. The food was outstanding! My husband got the old fashioned and i ordered a peachy old fashioned. We shared the brisket fries, bbq sampler plate and the tartlet for dessert was melt in your mouth amazing. All staff were so friendly and awesome!

My wife and I visited for drinks on Saturday afternoon, and went back for lunch and drinks on Sunday. We loved the drinks, food, service, and atmosphere, and look forward to our return. Erin greeted us and was very friendly, as was Taylor the bartender. Taylor is a sweet young lady, whom we enjoyed chatting with, and her knowledge of both the drinks and the food were amazing.I like WhistlePig and they have quite the variety so Taylor talked me into the flight, and I enjoyed every last drop. My wife enjoys a whiskey sour, more sweet than sour, and Taylor made a couple of good ones for her, with my wife stating it was close or tied for the best whiskey sour shes ever had.I ordered the Brisket Dirty Fries which was delicious, and large enough for 2, so I brought the other half home. My wife ordered the Ahi Poke Nachos, which she thoroughly enjoyed.We highly recommend for an enjoyable drink and/or meal.

My family and I stopped at this place for lunch when we got to Solvang. The food is very presentable and delicious. Bug quantity and super full-filling. To taste different things on the menu, best thing to do is share. Great appetizers and brisket options. So many GF options to choose from and some vegan options too (spaghetti squash platter)

Hands down the best BBQ rotisserie chicken that I have had in a while. Moist, tender and cooked to perfection. Good service, great outdoor patio seating, Clean restrooms. Wow, talk about great BBQ. the place is on the smaller side, but they do have outdoor seating. The staff is so kind and friendly! Trying the fashion tequilas is definitely a must! Great portions, you can get the BBQ trio sampler to share between two people and still have leftovers. This place is a must!

Came with my Wife and 4 friends. We split the Trio plate and enjoyed every bit of it. Ribs had amazing flavor, the pulled pork was delicious, and the brisket was mouth-watering. Another item tried was the BBQ wings which were good sized and tasty. I noticed this place previously and had to make a stop, I am glad to have found such a great BBQ spot in one our favorite little towns.

I decided to have dinner after a long day of traveling. The ambiance was great with a classy casual bar vibe. They had ample seating in very comfortable chairs with plenty of tables. They also offer outside seating along with bar seating. Overall I really enjoyed the look of the restaurant/bar and found it really cozy while still maintaining the upscale feel.It was delicious and was served with a large orange garnish. We started off with the Brisket Dirty fries and it was delicious. The fries were perfectly salted and I was impressed with the thickness of the queso. I had the BBQ sampler Trio plate that had brisket, pull pork and baby back ribs with choice of 2 sides. I choose the 3 cheese Mac and Cheese and the Waffle fries. We also ordered the brisket chili. The Brisket chili was on the pricey side but well worth it in my opinion. Everything was cooked to my likening and very tasty. I just wasnt able to eat all of it due to the fact we over ordered...lol. The best and only BBQ place in Solvang I believe.

My boyfriend and I are visiting from out of town and wanted to try a local restaurant. We loved everything about Whiskey N Rye. I got the spicy water drink and it was refreshing. Their jalapeño cornbread is phenomenal. The brisket was spectacular. My boyfriend had the ribs and completely polished off a full rack and said they were amazing. Overall 10/10. Would highly recommend. Worth every penny.

These guys lied about their portion. When I ordered brisket, I asked the waiter how big the portion is and he told me about 12OZ. But I swear it was more than 1 lbs. The food is good that we will absolutely go back again and again and again. Thank you

Yea I went to this place over the past weekend and “NO”. This place is so overpriced and get very little food for the prices. We should have gone to the other restaurants on the left-hand side of the 101 freeway. You could get a lot more food for your money. My mom ordered the “Grilled Romaine Salad with chicken” and all it was a romaine lettuce cut in half and shredded cheese put on top and the chicken. The amount of chicken that she got was a joke. Instead of getting a good portion of chicken to the salad, all she got was like 5-6 small pieces of chicken. I ordered the “Grilled Flat Iron Steak”, and I thought I was going to get a 8-10 oz steak. Nope it looked like I got 1/3 of the steak that I should have gotten. All I got was 6 slice pieces of steaks. Look if you want good food, save your money, and drive back to the 101 freeway and go to restaurants like Firestone Walker Brewing Company or La Tequila or Pea Soup Andersen’s. Any restaurant is better than coming here and wasting your money and paying almost $50 per person.

It was definitely worth searching and searching where to eat, the presence of the waitresses, the attention and the elegance and at the same time simplicity of this restaurant captivated us. Upon arrival we sat up at the bar to enjoy some refreshments.. whiskey was on the mind.. I tried the Whiskey Gold Rush (tasty) and a very refreshing.. The Atterdag (cucumber vodka) so delicious.. both were good choices. Many choices and mixologists on hand to put together some amazing beverages. The staff very friendly and prompt to assist. Food was on point. Cant wait to visit again!I DO NOT GIVE OUT FIVE STAR RATING BECAUSE THERES ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT!

Got the trio BBQ plate, Very mid and portion size is tiny for the price, this ain’t no southern style BBQ, the meat is dry, they give you tons of sauce though, however, the staff and service are very nice! The flies land on food often that was annoying.

I wasnt a fan mostly because it was an extremely hot day and the restaurant insisted on keeping their door open, which led to flies coming in and landing on our food. That was gross and just for that alone I would not go back. Also, the ribs were overcooked and were not falling off the bone like I thought they would based on the t-shirts their servers wear which say something about not needing your teeth to eat their beef. I disagree with that. You need teeth, a fork and a knife. My husband loved his pulled pork sandwich and my son enjoyed his burger but other than that it wasnt anything to write home about...

When we first arrived it was before opening time so the staff seemed annoyed with us. But in our defense the tiki bar recommended this place cause we were looking for a full bar and high roller (the tiki bar) only served beer, wine and soju. So staff told us they werent open yet but we could sit at th outside tables. Once they started serving, no one told us it was okay to go inside and order drinks (thanks lol) we had to assume it was okay, cause we noticed other guests sitting at the bar being served. Were (my boyfriend and I) were out in solvang being tourists. I know its not typical for a weekday but it happens as his work schedule is more demanding on weekends lol. Anyway, the drinks were great and it seemed like after a while the staff was a little more accommodating, especially after we mentioned we werent there for food we just wanted to drink lol. I wanted to love this place but the energy we got from staff for arriving 25 minutes early was weird. We also had bags in our hands, as we had been shopping around. Our early arrival was unintentional as this place was recommended by another business. Didnt mean to upset anyone, we just wanted some real liquor. But overall drinks were great and would recommend. I cant comment on the food cause we didnt eat here. :)

Jen was absolutely amazing, great suggestions and extremely thoughtful, from the wines to the to-go desserts. Everything thing we tried was delicious. The spicy watermelon sour with vodka was perfect. We had the jalapeno cornbread with chili honey 🤤. The blackened sordfish with mango salsa was good, kind of like tilapia but better, best to have a bite of fish then some mango salsa, eating it together the mango overpowered. The best sweet potato fries Ive ever had hands down. Everything on the trio BBQ platter was fall off the bone and melt in your mouth delicious. Definitely have to try the skillet cookie with ice cream 😩 I was in heaven. Definitely recommend and will be a staple for our returns. 🤗

Absolutely LOVED our experience there. Stayed a night in Solvang and made 3 separate visits for the bar/food! Server/bartender Taylor truly made it a 5 star experience but the whole staff was friendly and attentive. Very impressed with the food and service. Great BBQ, which is hard to do. Even if there’s a wait, ITS WORTH IT. This will be a spot I will visit everytime I got to solvang 😊

Got the BBQ sharing trio platter with 2 sides and it was incredibly poor. It all lacked flavour especially the ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were also chewy and dry and the mac and cheese was incredibly bland. The garlic smashed potatoes were OK and the brisket (although not much actual meat, mostly fat) was passable but I wouldnt recommend it as a choice. The honey mustard was great though. Cant speak for their other dishes

The food was absolutely amazing! By far, my favorite was their ribs. Perfect flavor and texture. Also had their Mac and cheese, hibiki harmony Japanese whiskey, skirt steak, cheesecake, fries, and smashed potatoes. Nothing left us disappointed! We went tonight to whiskey & rye for restaurant week. I am visiting from Colorado. We had a great evening at the new restaurant. It is really nicely decorated inside and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Taylor was our waitress and she was fantastic! We enjoyed the jalapeño cornbread and the brisket. The brisket was tender and very good. The portion was far more than any of the 4 of us could eat in a single sitting. I had the baked beans as a side. They are quite spicy but very good. I will definitely be back when I’m in town visiting family again.

We had the Brisket Dirty Fries, Cast Iron Cornbread,Fried Pickles, the BBQ Sampler Trio, with Three Cheese Mac n Cheese, the Garlic Smashed Fries, and Coleslaw as sides, the Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with McConnells vanilla Bean Ice Cream for dessert, and for drinks we had a Henry Weinheard Root Beer and Orange Cream Soda, a Fig Mountain Citrus Shandy from the Beer selection, and The Atterdag, from the Craft Cocktail selection. Oh my goodness! All were incredible! The smoked brisket, waffle fries, and Gouda had me at hello on the dirty fries, but then became even more out of this world with its mozzarella, green onion, and oh my gosh, the pickled red onion and chipotle cream sauce! It was honestly difficult to maintain conversation with our dinner party because it was so commanding of my tastebuds! So delicious! The cornbread was super yummy, too! The Fried Pickles were the absolute best weve ever had, a must order! I cannot emphasize that enough! The BBQ Sampler Trio was heavenly! The brisket, ribs, and pork were mouthwatering delicious! The BBQ sauce was delicious, too, and I am still dreaming about that Carolina Gold Sauce that comes with that Sampler Trio! The sides we had with the trio were the Three Cheese Mac, Coleslaw, and the Garlic Smashed Fries we amazing! My husband doesnt like coleslaw and he loved the coleslaw at Whiskey N Rye! The service was great, the drink selection was awesome. For the food we had the sampler, ribs, pulled pork & brisket. Ribs were not rendered enough to make them tender. Pulled pork had no seasoned flavor and the brisket was so very under seasoned also. All served with a small portions of hard beans and over cooked mac & cheese.

The food is pretty good, but the high prices do not justify the food. I was disappointed at the beer that arrived. I was hoping for a nice crisp beer in a chilled mug. What I ended up getting was a closed beer can paired with a chilled mug. Oddly the floors were so waxed, the chairs kept sliding. Overall good atmosphere, but I could not get over the prices. Try somewhere else if you want a deal.

Cool restaurant. Food is consistently overcooked though, especially the brisket. Over multiple visits, Ive found that the brisket is WAY overcooked. The chili is pretty decent. The cornbread is bland. We usually split the sampler platter, comes with a good amount of food. The ribs are pretty good. One time I ordered a flatiron steak medium rare and it came almost well done.Once I ordered 2 glasses of a good (yet overpriced) single malt scotch, neat with a water back, and the server looked confused. You think that a restaurant named WHISKEY And Rye would know what a water back means. The drinks showed up with rocks (at least it was a nice big ice cube).

Prices are a bit high for some of the items. Beans were still a bit crunchy for me. The rest of the food very tasty and shareable. Simple and smart plating. The craft cocktails were delicious, I had the Atterdag, and it was so refreshing. Our wait person, Taylor, was wonderful. Taylor knows the difference between Whiskey and Rye, which was one of our questions. She has a great attitude and was very patient, as we were not quick to make up our minds about our drinks.The staff uniform quotes on the T-shirts were unique and fun.I have been telling everyone about this restaurant, as it is hard to find good BBQ in a restaurant. This is a neat little BBQ spot! Kind of has a modern, but rustic vibe to it, great atmosphere! I had the buffalo chicken wings for a starter, and the pulled pork sandwich, with a macncheese side as the main course. Had the raspberry cheesecake for desert. Washed it all down a (few) citrus shandys! Everything was sooooo YUMMY, I highly recommend! I will be back to try something new next time! The staff was very friendly and accommodating!

We were staying a few days in Solvang and our inn was a few yards away so we stopped in for something to eat. The menu didn’t seem very exciting to me(nothing really sounded good) so I decided to do a few side a la carte. I got a side salad with a lemon poppyseed dressing. It had baby arugula, cabbage, tomatoes, and cucumbers and was very good. Sweet potato fries were so crispy, lightly sweet, and creamy on the inside. Served with a side of homemade ranch. I also got a side of coleslaw. Honestly one of the best coleslaws I’ve ever had. It was a lighter dressing without a ton a Mayo. Even though I didn’t actually order an entree, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in while. My husband had one of the best tasting steaks with a chimichurri sauce. It was seasoned well, tender, and seared perfectly on the outside. He also had some garlicky baby potatoes that were crispy on the outside but so tender on the inside. I can’t really describe how good everything was but I’m sad we don’t live nearby because I’d be there every week for that salad and sweet potato fries.

All three meats were dry and not seasoned. We had to rely on the bbq sauce for all three. We were super excited to try it so we left very underwhelmed and disappointed.

Was charged $12 for a coke w/ refills. Needed refills because the syrup ran out in the first one but wasn’t positive, the second was when it was very clear and sent it back and the third one tasted like they didn’t purge the line and was poor tasting like the first.If you’re going to charge for a ‘gunned’ soda refill you need to be clear about it. I understand if it was a bottle but I can’t recall any restaurant in CA ever charging me for gunned soda refills. Even more so when you know your product wasn’t on par with what it should have been.The food was reasonable but unremarkable.

This is a great place, I think itll be our new hot spot. My husband had the cob salad and it was huge with a great piece of beef on top. I had the whiskey and rye burger with mac and cheese and coleslaw on the side. Everything was so good and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was so nice and efficient. We are not big drinkers although my husband had 2 bourbon and Sprite. He said they were good. Cant wait to go back!
