This place was a surprise. Hadnt heard of it before until we were walking down 1st street and saw a sign for it to go down the side street. Great fresh and high-quality food.Fresh pastries and sour dough bread to take home as well.Great service and staff. We will be back.Oh and Air conditioning on a hot day.

Our second time to Wingen— just happened to see the sandwich board at the corner of first Street and South Livermore when another shop down the street was really busy. Today we enjoyed the artichoke deli sandwich and turkey pepper sandwich with Matcha and Coffee—so good. Great vibes here. 💕

I love bread and I’ve had bread from many of the famous bakeries all around the world. This is some of the best bread I’ve ever had. Literally nothing I’ve ever had here has been less than amazing. There’s a reason that the line is usually half way down the block. Pizza Fridays are great too. All of their wines I’ve tried have also been 🔥

This is my favorite bakery in Livermore, CA. I love their sourdough loaf. They do care about the quality of everything they produce (baked goods and drinks). Their sandwiches, muffins, and croissants are delicious. The place is clean and neat, and their staff is always super friendly.

Ive been coming here once or twice a week for the last 6 weeks so its time I write a review. This is hands down best bakery in the tri-valley area. Their bread is a little on the more expensive side but youre paying for top artisanal quality, definitely worth it in my opinion.My favorite thing to get by far is the country loaf. Their baguette was good but had a little bit more crust then I like. In France I would ask for a not too cooked (pas trop cuite) baguette. This is just an opinion but I think they would benefit from turning their oven heat down just a bit for their baguette.For their pastries the croissant is amazing. Their croissant dough is wonderful and they use it in a few other pastries too which have all been a delight.On the menu I like the avocado toast the most, but I also enjoy their biscuits and gravy. The cappuccino was also pretty good for those that like coffee with their breakfast.Finally the atmosphere and set up is well thought out. On the entrance you have the storefront a great counter for just getting in and out quickly. if Im just picking up bread this is wonderful. The dining area family friendly and lively. Finally the third room is super interesting and has a few more quiet tables for those who want thank kind of feel. The reason I say this one is interesting is that there is a glass wall but through it you can see the bakers using the baskets to texture the bread and then artfully score it before it goes on the oven.

I am so excited they have finally opened! Ive been following this project of love for a while now, from the farmers market to brick and mortar, and today I had the best bread pudding and cup of coffee there. A wonderful, warm space, filled with good vibes. Excellent customer service, and the bread is incredible. I brought home an olive loaf, and my family and I have been eating it all day, we cant stop. They serve four barrel coffee, which is one of my fav. Wingen Bakery will be my go to for breakfast in downtown from now on. Thanks, Bryan and Aimee!

This may be the best sourdough bread sandwich I have ever made. The bread is EXCELLENT! It’s soft interior with a crunch like crust full of seeds with a perfect balance of sour is outstanding! It’s so good I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how and where to leave a review. 3 out of 3 eggs approve! I need to get more.

Fantastic little bakery that has sandwiches, coffee, and drinks as well! One of my favorite spots in Livermore to stop by for lunch, and I haven’t been disappointed in their sandwiches yet.Their BLT is definitely my favorite, but it’s only offered when their tomatoes are in season, so if you see it on the menu be sure to try it! I also really like their pastrami and breakfast sandwiches.

I just love Wingen Bakery! Their staff is so polite and professional, always happy to see you. The sour dough baguettes are to die for (I have to buy at least two to make it home with one!) Plus their generosity to our community is commendable. They recently provided a non-profit organization I belong to a little tray of pastries that were so delicious and so much appreciated. I support small businesses in my town and will continue to support Wingen Bakery. :-)

The folks at Wingen sure know how to bake! From their cheesey bagels, to their sourdough country bread, they have it dialed in. Add some great customer service to that, and you have one helluva a local bakery.I highly recommend their olive loaf; it tastes amazing and makes for the perfect tuna melt. And make sure to get a few of their brown butter chocolate chip cookies...absolutely killer!Be sure to stop in and show Bryan & Aimee (and staff) some love!

I grew up in the Midwest where a bakery was a bakery. Many display cases full of cakes, cookies and pies. Take a number and wait your turn and then walk out with your sweet treats in a square, pink treasure box. Unfortunately, Wingen Bakery is nothing like that. They have a very small and limited selection of baked goods which is very disappointing. Recently on their website it said to order your Holiday pies now. The pecan cheesecake sounded delicious so I ordered one for Thanksgiving, despite the hefty $36 price tag. It was awful. It was over baked and the filling looked like it had SHRUNK and separated from the crust. I have included a photo. I huge disappointment and a lesson to not ever go back.

I’m just some random person on the internet, so take that for what it’s worth.Been to many cafes/bakeries/coffee shops in my years.Wingen is a breath of fresh air.I think it’s one of those places that makes all the other places seem...meh 😑.Quality seems like it’s everything to them.They know what their doing. The dishes speak for themselves.We ordered the Cinnamon Bun, Egg Sandwich, Crustless Quiche and Everything Bagel with cream cheese.Everyone’s taste are different so food reviews are always subjective 🙃 However, in my opinion, you’ll be saying “damn, that was yummy” after visiting Wingen Bakery.

Not everything is good there. I find incoherent to add coarse salt to a very oily croissant. Several people pointed that out but I don’t think they will change. Coffee is not the best. But the stars of this bakery are the bagels and the cinnamon rolls. Must try at least once.

Excellent variety of baked goods but in the classic French style. These people are dedicated to what they do and it shows. The baguettes are crusty and taste like the ones I had in Paris. The assorted baked goods like the Danishes, muffins and croissants are delightful and melt in your mouth.And, you will not find a cleaner place to eat:).

Just what downtown Livermore needed. Dont sleep on this bakery! If you enjoy high quality, scratch-made baked goods and bistro fare, in a family friendly environment- this is it. We have been fans of the Wingen sourdough since Spring of 2020 when they started their in-home cottage bakery. The bread is killer and I appreciate the love and time that goes into making it the old fashioned way.Now that the bakery is open: we make a point to go as often as possible to try the rotating and staple menu. Our favorites have been: Bacon Egg Sandwich, Savory Scone, Cinnamon Roll, Brown Butter Sea Salt Chocolate Cookies, BAGELS, Turkey sando, and Jambon Buerre Baguette sandwich. Aimee pours so much love into her food and it shows. Bryan, her husband is the warmest host. If you havent checked out their story yet you will love and support them even more. Bummed I didnt get a BLT yesterday so will be back next weekend!Note: Everything is cooked to order so order an Oat Milk Latte or Mimosa and slow down to enjoy the experience. The best things are worth the wait. Happy to be a Wingen Regular.

Wingen is the Platonic ideal of the small, locally-owned business. Bryan, Aimee, and their team have built a gem for the whole community. The food, coffee, etc. are delicious, yes (I particularly recommend the breakfast sandwich — don’t skip the Range Life hot sauce — and the Sunday special biscuits & gravy), but there is SO much more to Wingen than that. My wife and I look forward to Saturday/Sunday mornings here with our kids all week. I teach part-time and when I’m lucky enough to get a babysitter on my days off, I make a beeline for Wingen to linger over a cup of coffee and a good book. It’s paradise. Here’s hoping that this place sticks around for decades to come; if you’re in Livermore or anywhere near it, you MUST come.

Wingen is a fantastic bakery! I’m a huge fan of their bagels and breads. The bagels alone, especially the everything and poppy seed varieties, are worth a trip. Easily some of best I’ve had.Their other baked goods such as scones, cinnamon buns, and cookies are also incredible.I started coming here when they first opened and have seen the quality of the baked goods continue to improve (though they were always amazing from the start). The only critique I can give is that it can take a little while to receive my food after ordering (probably 5 - 10 mins for a bagel w/ cream cheese) but it’s definitely worth the wait so don’t let that deter you from coming.

Literally the best Bakery and the best breakfast spot in town. I have now visited the shop 3 days in a row and have found my epicurean needs more than satisfied. The avocado toast is hands down the best in town. The sourdough is just soft enough that you can bite through it but firm enough to hold its shape as your eating it. The way the avocado was smashed left beautiful olive oil/seasoning canals so that you experienced flavor bombs in each bite. Beautiful. The opened faced salmon bagel was the best I have ever had!! Big facts. Again, the bagel was soft enough to bite through but firm enough to hold shape and there were little moments of delightful crunchy pieces. The salmon was so fresh and flavorful and the capers gave a salty yet refreshing vibe with each bite. I could write sonnets about each menu item but I would be here forever. Point is, do yourself a favor and go eat there!!

A must go! Ive already been here three times and Im working the menu. I bake a lot so real ingredients and great flavors are essential for me. The veggie open face bagel and smoked salmon bagel sandwiches are excellent. In the world of sweets Ive enjoyed the brown butter chocolate chip cookie, the strawberry shortbread bar and granola. All the food is delicious and the owners and staff are kind and working so hard. I highly recommends this bakery.

I love coming to Wingen. They offer fresh ingredients and baked goods made from scratch. But just as importantly, they just know how to offer a hospitable hometown bakery that can easily become your happy place. Im really surprised by the high ratings of this place. Honestly we went there because of the high ratings. I must say the staff was excellent so its not on them. But the food was not good. Chocolate Croissant - was dry and unflavorful, Latte was just ok and the avocado sandwich (+egg) was very salty and had a burst of extreme saltiness which wasnt pleasant. Really disappointed by the food.Again the servers were very friendly and nice so if they could improve the food, this would be a great place.

I have never left a review before but I had to come here to say that this place is perfection. I didn’t know a ham and cheese sandwich could be so good. And don’t underestimate the sesame semolina loaf; it makes the most perfect toast, it’s so full of flavor, and is probably my new favorite bread. The coffee is good, the food is delicious, and their loaves are perfect - what more could you want from a bakery? Now I just have to try the sweets, which also looked fantastic.

The bakery is a really cute place, and the people who work there are very polite.We ordered a banana nut muffin, and french toast with a chocolate spread on top. Wingen supplied the bread for our recent wedding. Usually, the bread at a wedding dinner is an afterthought, but Bryan and Aimee produce the most wonderfully tasty baked goods and because of that it was truly memorable. We’ve been here twice and both times it was just not that great. The first time we had bread pudding and a pastrami sandwich. The bread pudding was dry. It didn’t seem dried out, but like the bread had never actually been saturated with the egg and milk liquid. The flavor was ok, but the portion was tiny. Like the size of a deck of cards. We specifically asked about the size before we ordered it and were told it was a large portion, so that was a disappointment.The pastrami sandwich was nothing special. No unique flavors, and the bread is cut so thin and saturated with butter or oil that it doesn’t even matter whether it’s homemade or not. It almost seemed like it had been pressed to help it brown faster. What a waste to cut fresh bread thin and then press it.Nothing comes with sides, so I was thinking about ordering a salad, but the person at the register said the bread pudding was a large enough serving that my bf and I could probably just split the salad that came as a side with his order. When I saw how small the salad was, I feel like maybe she just wanted to save me $5. So I let him have his tiny salad and ate my sandwich with no side.This place has great reviews so I thought maybe it was a fluke. We went back a second time and I got the turkey sandwich that’s supposed to come on baguette, but unfortunately they were out, so it was the grease saturated, thin sliced bread again. Again, there was nothing at all special or unique about the sandwich. Literally just a warmed up deli meat grilled sandwich with cheese, Mayo and mustard. My bf got an egg sandwich and added avocado that was fine, but not any better than the egg sandwiches he makes every morning from my homemade bread.We also ordered coffee. It was very acidic, to the point where I added all the cream they gave me and it was still sour. I’m hoping someone just measured the grounds incorrectly and it doesn’t usually taste like that. The owner very kindly exchanged it for a latte, which was very good.I wasn’t going to leave a review because I wasn’t sure if I was being over critical, but I went to a different sandwich place recently and they did all the things I was thinking could be done better. Their sandwiches have unique sauces and flavors. They have a few side choices you can purchase. They cut their bread to more like 3/4-1”. The grilled bread was lightly buttered. I ate it saying “OMG this is so good!” Instead of wondering why I paid $14 for a sandwich I could have made better at home. I also made bread pudding recently and my bf couldn’t believe how good it was, since the bread pudding at Wingen bakery is the only one he had ever tried. It’s not supposed to be dry. So I decided it was worth posting. I’d like to support local businesses, not tear them down, so I hope this didn’t come across as too harsh.

They have just opened so Ive only had one item from there menu so far and it was good. Met a friend there for lunch as he walked up he noticed someone eating a beautiful open faced bagel with smoked salmon, lo and behold they had just ran out. Staff was gracious and my friend understood said hell try it again next time hes in town. All in all Wingen is doing good for only being open a few days.

Was so excited to try you guys once you got a store front. Went in this past weekend to finally try a bagel and cookie. Got home and tried the cheesy everything bagel and it was tough to chew and was so salty... these bagels are not cheap so expected great things instead I will stick to my Panera bagels. I also got a everything bagel that was straight from their oven and it was tough as well and pure salt. The cookie was not good either was dry and again salty. Was very disappoining since I was so excited to try you guys. The mocha was the only redeeming quality and it was overpriced as well.
