2024-06-22 05:55:53Hands down my new favorite AYCE sushi spot! My husband and I went around 7:30 on a Friday evening and the wait was surprisingly quick (little over half an hour). The fish was super fresh and buttery. The tempura was very light, crispy and not at all greasy. Personally I didn’t like the crab salad used in the shrimp tempura hand roll as it was jarringly sweet. Overall, we are super satisfied with the food and service!

2024-06-03 02:43:39Ive been here 4 times now, and every time has been great! The sushi is delicious; I love the small portions so you wont get full quickly. The udon, ramen, and side dishes also pretty good. If its very busy, of course food may take a bit longer to come out. You gotta be strategic when your order. Ill usually order my next order when I receive my current one. I highly recommend this place! (:

2024-05-11 04:50:48We came in for lunch on a Friday and chose their Lunch AYCE menu which cost $27.99 (this option is only available from Monday to Friday). We got situated and they told us there was a limit of 3 rounds to order the nigiri sushi, each round we were limited to only order 20 pieces (seems like 10 pieces per person is the max for each round). So I wouldn’t say the nigiri sushi is truly an AYCE. But you can order unlimited sushi rolls by scanning the QR code they gave you.The wait for each order is very long, we waited 20 minutes to get our first 20 pieces of nigiri order and 45 minutes for the sushi rolls. Not sure how strict they are with their 90-minute time limit, but thankfully we got all of our orders right on the 90-minute mark.Favorite menu🍣Sakura Roll (no rice roll): This one is our favorite sushi roll. It’s so good!🍣Salmon nigiri🍣 Mackerel nigiri🍣 Yellowtail nigiriAll in all, love the rice-to-fish ratio, it’s perfect. The price is okay. However, I wish they could maybe hire more chefs to help reduce the waiting time.Follow @hangrytrails.us on Instagram for more OC foods🍴

2024-06-30 23:27:01We tried their omakasa (more expensive, with 9 pieces of premium sushis on top, and unlimited order of blue fin tuna sushi). We would say the premium sushis were great (the fatty tuna and half uni on top of the scallop were tasty), those were good enough to pay extra. The blue fin sushi was ok, just not as good as we thought. All other sushis were delicious and they did not load up rice to make us full. Even for the fried rice we ordered was a smaller portion, so we found it safe to try different starchy dishes. The restaurant was very clean, modern, and well ventilated. Loved it.We went there on a Saturday evening and they were busy. We waited for around 50min to be seated (Noted that they dont offer reservations on Friday to Sunday, seems no join the waiting list on Yelp).

2024-06-14 16:57:05Staff was incredibly helpful and helped us navigate our first visit. I was inhaling the fresh wasabi, gotta pay extra but it is so delicious. Wife and I cant wait to go back. Its clean, delicious, and if they make a mistake they take care of it so fast. Very blessed to live close by.

2024-04-14 03:33:37They have a wide selection of good quality sushi. It’s nice because you can literally try everything without ordering too much. The orders come out pretty fast too. Would definitely come back again! Love the ambiance!

2024-06-29 15:31:57The bluefin tuna kept changing everytime I ordered it. Not sure what its supposed to be anymore, but it still tasted good!I really enjoyed the uni+scallop they had on the omakase plate.I think their omakase is worth it to try out their specialties at first but I think going forward Id probably go for their 2nd tier option (I dont think their lunch special gives enough to be worth it)

2024-05-08 22:00:02The food did not seem very fresh. The surface of some of the fishes were a bit dry like it was not covered during refrigeration. It was my first experience, so I went for the Omakase. Not worth it because most items are already available on the AYCE menu (and it wasnt fresh). Even the half teaspoon serving of uni tasted a bit off.Too bad I didnt take pictures of the dried fish, wish I did. These pics were from the better cuts.Perhaps theyre so busy because they do have good service and great atmosphere. I would not go outta my way to come back though.

2024-04-26 00:09:45X Fish, a new all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, has been open for just a month and is still ironing out some issues. We experienced a long wait at noon despite many open tables, likely due to troubles with a new computer ordering system they started using that day. The sushi was surprisingly good, and the spicy miso ramen was decent too. I would consider bringing my family next time.

2024-03-18 22:20:28I visited on the first opening day on March 16th! These days, its hard to find a sushi restaurant with beautiful interiors in OC, but this place gave a really spacious and Japanese like feel with its large glass windows. There were many sushi chefs, all dressed in impressive uniforms. The lighting at the bar table was also beautiful, so it would be great to enjoy omakase in a wonderful atmosphere. We made a reservation on the website and, despite the large crowd, we were able to sit right away. We wanted to sit at the bar table, but since we went with friends and there were more than four of us, we thought it would be better to sit at a table where we could face each other. (If you go with just two people, sitting at the bar table and watching the sushi chefs make sushi while enjoying omakase would be great!) Even though it was the first opening day and there were a lot of people, there was a long wait. We made a good decision to make a reservation in advance. We ordered the omakase menu, and it was beautifully plated and delicious. While omakase can be expensive elsewhere, and many places lack quality, the omakase here was truly top-notch in terms of quality compared to the price! I like taking food photos with my friends, and the omakase menu was plated so beautifully that we took sushi photos and chatted, not realizing how time flew by. In addition to omakase, the lobster roll was also delicious, and I loved the eel! The eel was so tender and delicious that I ordered more than ten pieces! (If I had eaten this much elsewhere, it would have been expensive, but here it was all-you-can-eat, so I ordered and ate without worries.)Im not really good at eating sushi, but all the sushi here was delicious, and there were also many other menu items, so its a great restaurant where both sushi-loving friends and those who arent can enjoy what they want without any difference in opinion. Also, the yakisoba here is really delicious! The texture of the noodles is chewy and savory! It was so delicious that I ordered it twice! Also, the yakitori is served by servers while youre eating. The yakitori was also delicious. It was great that you could eat unlimited yakitori too! The atmosphere is better than a high-end restaurant, so it would be great for a birthday party with friends or a date with a loved one! The servers were all friendly and quick to fulfill our requests. Oh! And here, you can order the menu you want directly through QR code scanning without having to call a server! The ordering process is simple and fast! I will definitely visit this place again with my friends later!
