Had the large dac biet pho and my buddy has the beef over rice, both excellent !Just here for work but if Im in the area Ill return! Great friendly service too, dining area is small only maybe 7 tables

It was a cold night and this was the only place open late in the area. Pleasantly surprised as the noodle soup was SO fresh, hot and delicious!! Great spot for a light low priced meal with generous portions and the staff was nice. Glad to have randomly stumbled upon this joint.

Sibling restaurant to Yummy Yummy on Irving, this is one of my favorite Pho restaurants in the city. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. The food is very authentic and delicious. I love the bun bo hue with my other go-to dishes including, Five Spice Chicken, Banh Cuon, Pho Dac Biet, Spring Rolls, Cha Gio, and their Vietnamese Coffee.The interior is small, clean, and intimate with about 10 or so tables, & the staff is both friendly and attentive serving food quickly and efficiently making this place a good spot to bring the family for a yummy, filling & affordable meal.Overall, I would recommend Y&Y Vietnamese Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable Vietnamese meal on Clement Street in the Richmond District.

Solid little neighborhood joint thats been around for years because they offer great pho and rice plates at wallet-friendly prices. The pho tais good and I also recommend their five-spice chicken rice noodle soup.Also, they pay attention to the details with their takeout packaging. The broth is in a separate container individually wrapped with a plastic bag to prevent the lid from popping off. A must when carrying your order home by bike.

I love the pho here! Granted, my soup was very basic (beef noodle soup with rare beef steak). I asked if they can add tendons with it and the staff was great in adding what I wanted.I have to say, tendons seem to be a hit or miss at some of the Vietnamese restaurants Ive eaten at - some are hard which I dont like and others are deliciously slimy and soft. The tendons were definitely on point here. There was something about the noodles that set this restaurant apart from previous ones...they were more firm in texture. Whatever noodles they used, it was delicious!!I will say that the staff seemed a bit unorganized at one point. One of the ladies came up to me and offered me a bahn mi until I told her that thats not what I ordered. Shortly after we found out that the family over to my right were the ones who ordered the sandwich. We laughed it off. No big deal, Ive just never experienced that mix up type of situation before.

My friend has been coming here for ages & now I see why! Pork vermicelli dish was also great. Food comes quick, but they don’t scale at you if you want to stay and have a post-prandial chat.

Y&Y is the best family run Vietnamese restaurant in the Richmond and Sunset area! Clement St is known for it asian food and this restaurant doesn’t disappoint, far from it. It delicious and they have an amazing menu! The noodle bowls are amazing too!

I spent a day in the sun, so I wanted something cool. I went for bún. I live in a place with about 7 phò restaurants, and they all have the same menu. I needed a change. What’s new here is five-spice chicken. And it’s awesome. Boneless chicken parts with crispy salt-and-pepper skin. The bún comes with mint and cucumber. I finished with a durian shake.The place is clean, and a good mixed crowd on a Monday night.

I would’ve made it five stars because the soup and the beef dish I got were very good. The cha gio (imperial roll) was not. The last three Vietnamese restaurants I’ve ordered this dish from has what I believe is taro root in them. Very strange trend. That’s not how you make Cha gio. It should have cellophane noodles, pork, julienned vegetables, usually carrots, among other things. I’ve made these many times before and I guess I’ll have to start making them again. It’s a lot of work though.

Pretty descent spot for some quick Vietnamese lunch. The service was fast. There aren’t too many seatings but not an issue when we were there during Friday lunch hour. The food was pretty authentic.

Unfortunately a terrible experience. Served the incorrect banh mi (sandwich) for my takeout order. On top of the wrong protein inside, there was a laughably small portion. Near $10 before tip. Strangely they do not add jalapenos as well. I thought they left them out but another review mentions this omission as well.

One of the few Vietnamese places on Clement. We stopped here craving Vietnamese food and were slightly disappointed. The pricing seems too expensive, especially for the sizes of the bowls. We got the grilled pork vermicelli and the beef pho. Both were just okay, not memorable, and rather small. Although this place was clean, the food was just lacking.

It was our familys first time here for lunch on a mid-October Sunday in 2018. It was fine until one out of our party of 6 didnt get his food order while the rest of us were half-finished with our meals. After asking at least 2 different wait persons, the pho finally came. However, my brother-in-law had ordered pho with well-done steak and meatballs and he received rare steak with no meatballs. After flagging the waitress again, instead of fixing the order, the waitress showed us the handwritten order and insisted that my brother-in-law got exactly what he ordered, basically saying we were wrong. She could have written anything, since we didnt watch her write down the orders word for word. My brother-in-law said forget about it. Minutes later, the waitress returned with 4 halves of meatballs and said the boss said it was okay to give us some meatballs, like she was doing us a big favor. Just not the most pleasant or customer-oriented wait staff.

Terrible customer service. Based on your ethnicity, they will treat you differently. To white customers, they will be attentive but not from the bottom of your heart. To Asians, depending on you are speak mandarin or Cantonese, they are very mean to people speaking mandarin. Especially that short lady who seemed to be the boss, but she is the worst.

WARNING FOR WHITE CUSTOMERS:Because they know you are white, they will intentionally give you the old broken noodles at the bottom of the bag that are entirely broken into small half inch pieces.The asian individuals next to me had the same type of noodles and they were not broken, really long and still together as whole.Shame on you Y&Y for serving customers differently based on their ethnicity
