2023-12-03 23:52:05Great Japanese fusion restaurant.Classic Japanese dishes along with very unique twists on classics.Waiter was super friendly and attentive.Food was excellent and comes in large quantities, perfect for sharing.Their desert menu is actively rotated.Being situated on top of a large hill gives an amazing view of LA and Hollywood, especially at night, while keeping away the noise of traffic and life.Prices were high, but for the service, food, and atmosphere all worth it.Highly recommended.

2023-11-15 20:08:53We had a reservation made well in advance (weeks) and stated that this was a birthday celebration and our first time, requested a great view - the best they could accommodate. They delivered!! We were told by a few employees that our table was the best for views...they were right! Full LA city views from both sides of the table and no marine layer so we could see twinkling lights for miles. Our server, Vanessa, was beyond exceptional. Knowledgeable, friendly, warm, conversational, smiled, was personable, thoughtful, and treated us like we were family. It was a dinner shared between sisters, and she said we reminded her of her relationship with her sister. At the end of our meal, she brought a small glass of champagne for each of us and cheesecake to celebrate my birthday. I truly felt special and taken care of. Yamashiro is a beautiful setting with delicious food, but the service always makes or breaks a meal....and we truly felt that Vanessa elevated our experience. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for such a spectacular dining experience. We cannot wait to return!!!

2023-12-04 01:54:12First and foremost tiktok and everyone was hyping how amazing this place was. The aesthetic is very pleasing. The atmosphere was wonderful. The resturant ground seem very pleasant, lovely, lively, and colorful. My eyes were everywhere. Made reservations to come in surprised that there were so many openings available for today. We came to have a great time at first we were so excited to experience what everyone was hyping about the resturant about how great the food was. We asked for waters. And we didnt receive any waters until we were almost about finished with our food. The cups we had lipsticks stains on them. Then not to mention we tried to wave a server for utensils since we didnt have enough at our table. The communication within the staff was horrible. Not one single person beside our server asked if we needed anything but they all were alternating. Tried to wave a few servers. But they ran away from our table. They all were mainly focused on decorating the grounds instead of focusing on the guest. Our server had dropped the other guest drinks at their table. It was a bit annoying because we still were waiting on our waters and i understand how frustrating it is with other guest who feel entitled cause your mimosa fell on you but other people needed to be serviced. I get it you need to appease the other guest but, we didnt get acknowledged till the end. The bento box is over priced. Small portions for 27$ other places give you a decent amount including sushi. Here they give you a tiny portion of salad rice with four pieces of meat. And miso. The chirashi bowl my cousin had ordered was not expected we thought it was going to be in a traditional sense but she had issues after eating it which caused her to become sick. It was colorful, the presentation was lacking. Kaarage biscuits and gravy, wass disappointing because we were not expecting bone in. We were thrown off. The green dragon roll missed opportunity as well. It really didnt stand out. The mimosa wasnt presented as well. It tasted like your average mimosa.Nothing special. With a orchid toppedd off. There was photographer who was taking photos of certain guest and we were not offered. That was also a missed opportunity. The fact we waited to still flag someone down for utensils we took the initiative to grab another one from another table. We finally received our water when it was close to finishing our meal. Really disappointed. As an ex server for many resturant. So many missed opportunities. They couldve been more friendlier, more attentive. Didnt even bother to offer any desert for our meal, or add on to boost sales. The proper handling of serving guest was clumsy. Decorating the grounds should be something before the establishment opens or after hours instead of being focused on that. The focus should be more attentive to guest. We spent a whopping 300$ including valet. We all were still starving. We could have went and supported a small business with that amount if money for Quality and quantity.Forgot to mention, upon sitting at the tables we noticed the tables are not wiped down the servers, or bussers, would pick up the dirty plates and not even attempt to disinfect the table. Thats highly unsanitary. For an establishment, with no sanitation protocols for hightouch areas. If you are reading this, and debating whether if you want to eat here its all about the aesthetics. I wanted to love this place. But everything that we experienced just dissapointing. So many missed opportunities, lack of higher touches, and no communication within team members.** If the owner or manager is reading this, these are learning oppurtunities for you to do better as a brand. It was not even busy the time we had arrived. If you have any further question dont hesitate to reach out Im willing to answer concerns that you may possibly have.**

2023-11-08 23:08:26My camera didnt give it justice. Beautiful place and atmosphere. We were there to celebrate my cousins birthday. Our waiter, Brian, was awesome and patient. He shared his ideas on selections, and he was spot on. The drink you see is the Purple Dragon. It was sweet and good.

2023-10-09 02:04:26The views and vibes here are absolutely immaculate. You’re taken into a whole new world once you’re inside the restaurant. The patio oversees the DTLA views since it’s on a hill. There’s a Japanese garden with a stream of water and fish, and you can walk through it or enjoy some quiet time on a bench. My favorite dish was the toast with milk jam. BEST TOAST SANDWICH EVER!! Sweet and perfectly toasted.

2023-07-11 23:06:47The place is incredibly big. I had hoped to sit in the small courtyard, but due to the limited size of our party (only two of us), we were seated outside, where we enjoyed a view of Los Angeles. The main draw of this restaurant is its atmosphere and scenic view. However, I was not impressed with the food. It came in a weird order and really late with our drinks only arriving after we had almost finished our meal. Our waiter was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. As a vegetarian, he recommended some menu items that would suit me, but unfortunately, they lacked flavor. I would consider revisiting this place only for the atmosphere experience.

2023-10-08 19:23:44If you’re looking for a good date night, celebration spot, or just a good environment to go, this is the place. This was my second time here but the first time was for a graduation party. This time we sat outside with a view overlooking Hollywood Blvd. Our waiter, Jessie was very accommodating. He was very patient with us and wasn’t overbearing like at some other places. The food was very well seasoned and it was just the right amount of food to satisfy you but not have you stuffed. Oh and if you’re thinking that the price for a place like this is out of your price range, think again. We got 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, and 2 drinks(alcoholic), $129. In todays time, that is a very good price. One more thing, the manager, Chris also came over to make sure things were good with us. Both he and Jessie were friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a good bite to eat along with enjoying an amazing atmosphere.

2023-11-24 17:10:28The only word I have to describe this is wow. The ambiance is simply breathtaking. Spralling views of Hollywood, Century City and Downtown from high up in the hills. The restaurant is stunning. We walked the outdoor garden and then the inside one and they were both serene and incredible. Our food could not have been better and the prices for what youre getting were actually pretty surprising. The rolls were fresh and delicious. My daughters steak was perfect. Our server was friendly and fun.

2023-08-23 06:21:06It’s a beautiful experience and everyone should go at least once. The view is stunning, the food is great.Strangely the wait for a table was long even on a weeknight even though we had a reservation and we weren’t the only ones. It was stranger because there were some empty tables. My guess is that there were less serving staff.Ask for recommendations if you’re not sure what to order. We loved the sashimi, dragon roll and yes they have kid options too though it’s not listed on the menu.

2023-07-21 18:59:33Went for my birthday! Staff was very lovely and helpful despite the large size of the establishment. Beautiful architecture, great drinks, great view, great food. Our bill was nearly 1k because we wanted to try a little bit of everything. I have 0 complaints. Food was tasty and melts in your mouth, definitely try the tomahawk steak.
