I don’t remember it being so soupy… flavor was good, thought not as good as I remember. Barely touched it so I can thicken it at home. Used to love this place but they quickly started closing down locations so it’s rare I’m over here, but seeing how it is now I’m sad to say it’s not worth the drive. Seems they couldn’t bank on having one specialty so they expanded their menu but don’t think I’ll bother with the other options. Going to start learning to make it at home.

Wow...For what they do this place is great. They do sell out almost every lunch right now. Its not their fault they just opened and are busy....They limit their lunch orders so they can manage dinner. We just walked in at 12:15 and did not wait. They ran out 8 orders after us.I got the Regular and Authentic. The difference is more Serrano peppers and ginger..I like spicy but I had to set the peppers aside to handle the Authentic. Spicy has red peppers added...The sauce is great and the chicken melts in your mouth...great comfort food.... cant miss....

Stop using paper bowls. It is very inconvenient for Togo orders. By time I got back to work ALL the broth had leaked out and filled the bag! Luckily it didnt leak in my car! Delicious food but this is bs!

The food was good. I liked the spicy version as the authentic version felt a bit greasy. Nice and clean.The atmosphere is casual and bright with plenty of tables.The portions are very large, but they have to-go boxes.The food has tons of ginger, so beware if you dislike ginger.No real choice of other food. I think youll either love it or hate it.

The flavor is okay, just like it in China. They let me wait for 20mins. And they dont have chopsticks making it hard to pick all the fresh ginger out. I dont like so much ginger. You can get free rice refill. Thats good for guys.

I was there last week. While the other restaurants were filled with people, this one only had two customers inside. I knew this restaurant brand but did not have chances tried before. Due to my schedule, I just decided to give it a try… while it seems a mistake. The smell inside the room is quite strange. The food was absolutely nothing like the ads on the wall. It was more like a chicken mushroom soup. The flavor is okay with a lot of ginger inside. Will definitely not go there again.

This place has pretty good chicken and rice. The miss here is the rice quality. To some people rice is rice and they figure most Americans don’t know the difference between good rice and bad rice so they cut cost on quality of rice. Rice here is below average. The chicken and mushrooms are pretty good but recently the chicken has been very greasy and oily. Seems like they cut back on getting rid of extra fat from chicken. Just allow it to sit for a few hours and then look at it and you will know. One other thing here is the bags issue. Not sure who on earth ordered these kinds of yellow bags. The food packages don’t sit right in them and by the time you are home they would have fallen over. One of the employees today actually put the chicken sideways in the bag. Who on earth would put chicken with liquid in it sideways in a loose bag..? For next bag order I highly recommend properly sized bags for these to go packages so food does not fall over. I would also recommend a better quality of rice and some how eliminate excess fat and grease from chicken sauce. I come often here but think management can do better.

Got there at 1130 am for lunch and no line and plenty of tables. The spicy bowl was made with various chilis to give it a kick but the sauce it self seemed normal (not spicy). The bowl is similar to something I order at a sit down restaurant but the convenience of a walk up. I can do with less rice and more meat for sure and that would justify the price better too. Didnt seem like they had a 1 bowl limit anymore either, but not positive.

They do one dish here - braised chicken - but they do it mild, medium and spicy. It’s kinda different, albeit a few restaurants who’ve chosen the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) method (think chicken strips or burger chains). I found there was just enough rice to mix in and eat. The traditional was a wee bit spicy for me. However, like all spicy dishes you get used to it or you cry through it. Don’t worry! Medium was not that extreme. I’ll be back for certain!!

I never went here until recently so I never experienced how much better this location supposedly was before the pandemic, but I have to say the flavourfulness of the food is as top quality as can get, the only issue is everything else, from lack of drink ingredients for teas to out of service drink fountain to bathroom with no working lock mechanism to sort of abrasive customer service. The dining area was clean, but sort of a sad atmosphere.I was served in the clay pots that apparently were taken away for awhile and the food is incredibly tasty, but it appears the pandemic like many other food place wrecked havoc on this location.

The food here is average. I went here thinking that it would be amazing after all of the write-ups it received, but the food was just okay. For almost $10 a serving, it seemed a bit over-priced. Nothing bad about the place though: the cashier was pleasant, the place seemed clean and orderly. Just nothing to write home about.

I used to really like this place but the food doesnt really taste the same as before the pandemic, less flavor more watery. Ive seen other reviews that the clay pots are no longer used and wonder if this is the reason. You dont come here for the ambiance, and if the food doesnt taste the same there isnt much of a reason to return

Every time we wanted to try this place, sign on door said, sold out??? Finally when we did try it, we had our dog with us and took our order home. Flavor very good, we tried the original. I went here once and likely wouldnt return. They only serve one dish, the eponymous braised chicken rice. It is good, not great. A thick, spicy chicken stew surrounding a big scoop of rice. I got the medium spice and it was a bit too spicy for my taste. If I were to eat there again I would go with the regular spice level.The decor is Spartan: tables and chairs, nothing on the walls. Not inviting at least to me. Ive seen school cafeterias with more charm.With all the amazing Asian restaurants available in this area I think Yangs is going to have to up their game and expand their menu in order to stay in business. One so-so stew might work elsewhere but I dont see it being a winning formula in Orange County.

Finally visited this place after reading all of the hype about it months ago. Showed up on a weekday afternoon around 1:30PM, with no lines and just a few other customers besides me.Ordered the authentic version. Food was better than I expected, liking the soft texture of the braised chicken. Portions were larger than I was expecting, as I thought I would be taking home leftovers. I did end up eating the whole order, just taking my time and eating slowly.Initially, I thought it was expensive, but after seeing the large portions, the cost seemed appropriate. Not sure if I would drive out of my way to visit, but when Im in the neighborhood, I will stop by again.

To truly enjoy the food you must dine in. This way you can enjoy your food hot from the kitchen. This is the best chicken, rice Ive ever eaten. I ordered the spicy which for me could be spicier but Im a heat freak. This is the type of meal that is perfect on a rainy day or if you have a cold. Its yummy comfort food.

I wish the bowls had a lighter salt taste, and an option of a sweet sauce. The chicken and the fat that came with it overthrew me. I kept finding chicken fat pieces all over the rice, and I had to keep picking them out. It’d be a nice if they had a sweet side sauce or an option with it on the menu. Came here on a Saturday around 4 and it was pretty empty. We got the regular and the authentic, which are $10 each. The regular was not spicy at all, while the authentic looked like the regular+jalapenos. It took about 10 minutes to get our food, which came in a hot clay pot. We are used to traditional Chinese food and we found the food to be similar to a home cooked Chinese dish, simple and satisfying. The sauce may seem too salty and the chunks of ginger in the dish may be off-putting for some, but we liked it. However, ultimately we felt like $10 was too much for a dish we can make at home.

This is a decent rice bowl place. I tried the spicy, which to me was not that spicy. It was a bit salty though. The chicken is cooked until it is slightly shreds, which I think is overcooked. The bowl comes with ginger and mushrooms. I did not think it was that flavorful, but more savory. Overall an OK place to get a rice bowl, but I still prefer Yoshinoya if I had to choose.

Website indicated business hour 11am to 2 pm for lunch, arrived at 12:15 noon with family last saterday, the door was locked & the outside sign said all sold. There are a lot of empty tables available inside. The restaurant doesnt respect peoples time other then trying to getting media attention. Seriously, Are you really in the business? The rice and chicken bowl is way too fattening and the chicken tasted like canned chicken! It has mushrooms which has the consistency and taste of thinly sliced beef fat! They only offer one item on the menu. The signature chicken bowl is all they have. It is somewhat a twist of taiwanese cruisine. Basil chicken or 3 cup chicken in clay pot. Its very quick fried by the order from their kitchen. The dish is done slighty quick would be nicer if done correctly by the more experienced chef. After all the price is on very high side and the taste of the dish is just average. The portion of the chicken bowl is on the small side. For someone thats hungry. You might go home still hungry very shortly. Its a comfort food that will make you hungry afterward. Its suitable for their asian market. Base on the fact in most popular location often assoiciate withlots of variaty food selections and choices that people can go before or after their visit to the restaurant. One of the most famous chicken bowl from China. They offered only 50 bowls limited per meal during the first 4 weeks from their opening date and thats why so many 1 star commenters came across SOLD OUT. Excellent! They really know how to cook chicken. If you want chicken dish in Asian style, go to Yangs. They cook right in front of you. They cook with care. The restaurant chain founder was there working just like other staff to ensure the quality. You never see KFC or In-and-Out CEOs spend the day in the kitchen. Also, other restaurants put too much Mono-sodium glutamate to get the flavor. Yangs cooks chicken differently. Its worth the wait.
