The service is absolutely nice. I’d firstly recommend the beef tongue, crunchy but soft, very top. Secondly, the Yazawa Special Rice. It smells and tastes perfect, can eat it with soup and wasabi. The whole ‘rice & noodle’ list looks tasty, too.I’d not order the chef’s selection next time. They are all too rich for me. I don’t feel well after eating too oily. Two of the appetizer is raw and very salty. And I don’t like the egg yolk ‘bubble’ sauce of Yazawa-Yaki. IMA has the better egg yolk dipping sauce. However, drinks and tea are excellent.

Very expensive, but you are getting what you are paying for.Its definitely not a meal you would do frequently, but for those times you feel like treating yourself this place has got to be up there.The staff is so nice and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I went to Tokyo 5 years ago, and from what I remember this place matches what youd expect from a high end Japanese BBQ over there.I look forward to coming back.

Always wanted to try Yazawa wagyu since forever... Finally decided to get it for our 12th anniversary and birthdays dinner. We got the A5 Wagyu Assorted Bento (added Tongue & Harami), Kalbi Bento, Garlic rice, Udon, OX Tail soup and salad, total come up to be $197. It is quite expensive, especially when the portions are not that big. The wagyu are superb, grilled to perfection. It doesnt really melt in your mouth, however, the taste is really delicious. The only regret I have would be the ox tail soup and salad. The soup is bland and hardly any meat, it is definitely a rip off. The salad is great, but for $13, i think it is a little too much. Will I dine there again? Probably for special occasions only.

It was our first experience, meat was amazing melt in your mouth A5 wagyu. Our waiter Mathew was excellent as well, guided us through the menu and selections, as it was our first time. Well be back again, but next time we need an inside table, the outside dining was loud, busy street.

Yazawa is the best yakiniku experience that Ive tried. It makes sense considering the hefty price tag of the place. Not only is the food top notch, but the service is impeccable too. You get multiple courses of different variations in how they prepare the meat. Everything just melts in your mouth. I absolutely loved the egg dipping sauce.

The omasake menu only come with the meat. No veggies and dessert at all. The food was ok but extremely overpricing.We ordered a garden salad, and it only comes with 2 pieces of broccoli, 2 snap peas, and some mixed green salad…cost $12…We also ordered a special garlic rice, the rice is extremely plain, we have to used the salad dressing to balance the taste.🙄 Also the garlic is burned since the dish is in a hot pot and our server did not serve it on time… cost us another $24If you really want to try a Japanese bbq omasake for the first time, I highly recommend you go to YAKIYA in Hacienda Heights, they have 18 courses come with the yuzu juice, salad, oxtail soup, dessert, tasty wagyu beef and something you may never have before. Much cheaper, and better service.

Enjoyed Yazawa Omakase. Simply put, I had great time enjoying delicious slices of A5 Wagyu beef in the beautiful luxurious place. All the slices of beef were extremely juicy and delightfully melting in the mouth. I also immediately felt the place was reliable when I got into the place, so I didnt hesitate at all to eat their raw beef slices that were served as appetizer. It was very fresh and tasty! One of the slices was mixed with sesame oil and another was very creative food (made with eggs). The course consists of four plates of several different body parts of cow meat. Overall, 2+1 different sauces were provided. The first dish included round beef. The next plate included sirloin (Yazawa Yaki) that I was told to dip into their egg sauce. The egg sauce tasted surprisingly totally new. And it was like eating Sukiyaki beef. Four slices of beef were served next, each of which included lean beef, brisket, leg & rib. The last piece of beef was fillet and yes, it was best of the best Wagyu beef that I had here and there. By the way, the servers explained about each dish whenever it was delivered to my table and answered all my questions kindly. It seems that they usually grill the beef for the customers. Once you get to know how to properly grill the beef in their suggested way, I think its okay to do it yourself. Fantastic & very delicious high quality Wagyu beef I had for sure!Next visit, I will also order side dishes from the beginning as soup, rice and deserts are not included in the omakase.위치는 베벌리힐즈. 입에서 녹는 A5 와규! 특히 필레부위 맛은 매우 감동적이다. 필레는 입에서 순식간에 녹는듯한 느낌. 한편, 다른 부위 고기맛은 한마디로 매우 부드럽고 육즙이 장난아니다라고 느껴진다. 식사는 따로 추가하는 것이 좋을 듯 싶고 1인 오마카제도 가능함. 양은 적다고 할 수 있으나 고기 퀄리티는 최고이며 따져보면 한우 최상급과 비교할 수 있겠는데 일본식 혹은 이곳 특유의 음식에 대한 터치가 있으므로 그 이유만으로도 가볼만한 곳인듯. 소스는 폰즈소스와 자체개발소스가 (고기양념소스같은 것) 베이스인데 다소 신선한 계란소스가 서로인 나올 때 별도로 나옴. 계란소스는 맛이 담백하며 익숙한 스타일은 아니고 맛에 특이성이 있음. 일요일에는 주차장 이용료는 무료!

The wagyu appetizer simply melted in your mouth, I particularly loved the tartar. Each and every meat had a intense marbling and a distinct and memorable flavor. It was definitely a splurge, but well worth it! Theres like 5 different kinds of omakase: 100, 120, 140, 160, and 180. The minimum of $100 has 3 raw beef appetizers and 5 different of cuts (4 pieces of beef tongue and skirt steak, then its just 2 slices of each meat after that because the quality gets better!) The more expensive omakases have uni. Omakase doesnt come with any sides so I got the Yazawa salad (light and refreshing!) and garlic rice with wagyu beef in clay pot.PARKING: street metered, but you know how that is around Rodeo Dr...so just make your life easier and park in the parking stalls behind the yazawa building.

Wow !! Quality all around. The meat was phenomenal – we got the Signature Omakase, which came with a 3-sample appetizer, and multiple rounds of meat. The Yazawa Yaki, dipped in egg broth, was mouth watering! This was not what I expected and I normally love japanese bbq. The salad was overly salty, the appetizer was very mediocre, the beef was good but not great. The waiter took forever between dishes and messed up our orders a few times. For the price we paid, I’d expect much much better. I’ve had 10X better experience at other Japanese restaurants at similar price points. Food and service was worth $100 dollars per couple at best instead of $550.

This place is Super disappointing. We paid 500 for 2 ppl at dinner. This was without any alcohol. We also didn’t order much, added 1 salad and 1 rice on top of omakase for 2, that’s it.I’m totally fine with the price bc we eat sushi omakase all the time. But I came here expecting high quality food and service that match the price. They don’t have either of it- the salad is tossed with soy source, very salty and dry. Appetizers were lack of flavor, actually also taste like just soy source. Half of the meat were pre marinated- I believe it’s high quality meat as they described, but I can’t taste either the freshness or the original flavor with the marinade. Again, we go to good restaurants often and know what to expect- for a pricey restaurant like this, there should be a level of innovation and understanding on the food- they didn’t seem to have it.Over all, the food quality is not better than any 80 dollars dinner for 2 from any other bbq restaurants. Not mentioned we had to wait for 10 minutes in between 2 plates of raw beef. I also told the waiter I’m pregnant and so can’t eat any raw stuff, yet he still put the meat in a raw egg dip. I had to re-cook it.Honestly very, very disappointed at this place. Don’t think it deserves the 4.5 on google and don’t understand how they got it.

This restaurant used to be very good, the food was great and the service was perfect - in the past the server would explain each piece of meat and sauce to us. Now everything is straight down hills, our server did not care to explain the menu to us and had an attitude. We asked her to give some suggestions and she went: I don’t know what you like. They put a party of 8 on a table of 4 right next to us so there is no room for social distancing or for the server to grill for us, after we requested to change to a different table(there was an empty table), the server told us that table is taken, but no body sat there until we finished. We had to grill the meat ourselves since we waited 10+ minutes after she grilled the first piece of meat. The price was acceptable in the past considering the quality of the food and the service but it’s is no longer worth it now.

Went here for dinner the other night service started out great the food was great as well it is expensive but you are getting great quality. As I said service in the beginning was great our waiter was very Nice and helpful. Then as soon as we were on our last bit of meat it’s like the waiter disappeared I asked for a drink refill 3 times never came till we ordered dessert and the other waitress who was helping same thing. Then we probably waited another 30 min just to get our bill we just went up to where you pay cuz no one came back to us. Our waiter was drinking and socializing with another table that was extra loud and annoying the whole dinner (this restaurant isn’t big). What kind of waiter just forgets about your guest? Especially with the price you pay here you would expect Exceptionable service paying over $1,000 for dinner (4 ppl). Also the waiter didn’t even say anything as we left. If you are a fan of Wagu this place is great for you. It was good just don’t think I will ever eat here again due to the service we received. Good luck!

There is a great divide between the price and the value of this restaurant. The service was mediocre at best, the ambiance was indifferent, and the food was fine, thanks. Japanese beef in a small restaurant on little Santa Monica. The Wagyu is good, but not great and while they serve a variety of cuts, it is not A5. Nevertheless it’s tasty, well prepared and they have some good salads to go with it. The restaurant is extremely expensive and the portions are small so bring your wallet as you will need it.

This place is more about tasting than eating. They sell a special experience and they deliver. We had the chefs choice and I think this is the best meat I ever had. The service is on spot as well: our waiter stayed at our table and prepared the different pieces of wagyu right in front of us (you can also do that yourself if you think you know better). He also had an interesting story to tell for each course. Also his wine recommendation was perfect. Even the side dishes were a special experience on their own. Definitely come here if youre into really good beef - its worth the (admittedly hefty) price.

The worst omakase Ive ever been to. Slow service with a sever with an attitude.We ordered Yazawa Omakase and it took over 50 minutes JUST FOR THE APPITIZERS AND 9 PIECES OF MEAT that were supposed to grill on our own, even though the store was not busy. The table behind us were served way faster with the same server.Also ordered garlic rice and asked for spoons, and some random sauce was on the spoons. We complained to the server a couple of times and asked for the manager(was off) and the servers attitude was what made our experience worse. We lost our appetite and asked for the bill without getting the last portion of the omakase because of her attitude.What kind of omakase takes that long especially when it comes raw and you cook it for yourself?I didnt expect such service at a pricey restaurant that I wouldnt even get at McDonalds. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. They somehow transport you to Japan during your dining experience with flavors and textures that were unknown by westerners until just a short while ago when opening. They have locations in Tokyo, Singapore and one in Milan. The Yazawa company is a meat company first and foremost so every succulent piece of beef is superb. After getting a 6 course meal you just want to ask for more and more. Luckily for them they called last call otherwise we would have been there all night. If you do get out to Beverly Hills and like insanely delicious food with excellent wait staff for an intimate dining experience, this is the spot. Cannot recommend it enough.

Allow me to preface this review by stating that I know Japanese meat. I grew up partially in Japan and have traveled throughout the country extensively. I’ve eaten yakiniku more times than I could count. My meal at Yazawa was an absolute disaster.I was in LA for a few days for a show and decided to seek out yakiniku, as there aren’t too many places outside of Japan where you can get Japanese beef. A quick Yelp search revealed that my relatively-nearby options were Yazawa and Manpuku. It looked like Manpuku only served US “wagyu”, so I opted for Yazawa, as my entire quest originated from the desire to have Japanese beef.While Yazawa did serve Japanese A4/A5 wagyu (and the meat itself was good), the chef/restaurant/owners absolutely destroyed the meat with sickening amounts of non-optional sauce (the meat - ALL cuts of the wagyu - arrived pre-soaked in the stuff). The omakase began with a 3-dish appetizer, and from the very first bite, I knew I was doomed. The tartare may as well have been tofu or ground beef from Ralph’s, because you literally could taste nothing but their nauseatingly sweet sauce - 2 out of 3 appetizer dishes were just hosed down with this stuff - they were indiscernible. An initial bite sets the tone of the meal, but whatever, maybe things would improve.No, no they would not. The first pieces of meat were inexplicably USDA cuts. Nothing special, but not offensive, either. These unremarkable pieces were salted and peppered with no sauce, which is absolutely ridiculous - they overpower the prized wagyu with sauce, yet serve the cheap USDA cuts with an understated salt and pepper, when it’s brutally obvious that this should be the inverse. Then came our $200 meager platter of Japanese wagyu for two. And it was positively DRENCHED in Yazawa’s Signature Sauce (TM). My partner and I each tried a single bite to give it a chance, and it was terrible. All we could taste was sugar, ginger, and garlic. The sauce was cloying, the meat was woefully undersalted (and quite literally untasteable), and the experience was just depressing. Wanting to salvage something out of this meal, we asked our server to explain this saucing decision and ask if we could perhaps replace the remainder of our meat with pieces that were simply salted and peppered. We were offered nothing more than a trite, bored response of “that’s how the omakase comes”. We were never informed, via the menu or the server, that our meat would be sauced to oblivion, and never even given the option to opt for salt instead.We explained that we are well-versed in yakiniku, and the meat was being ruined by this sauce (which we were never informed of), and Yazawa absolutely REFUSED to do anything about it - they wouldn’t replace our meat, offer us supplemental cuts, NOTHING. I honestly wished I had just walked out, but I stoically choked down the maple-syrup-coated meat and got the $300 check, whereupon they couldn’t be bothered to do so much as remove our drinks from the bill, when we clearly had a horrific experience. They were so unapologetic, it was remarkable.Considering the price and my expectations, this may have been the worst dining experience of my entire life. Only dine here if you like the idea of a business that takes exquisite, difficult-to-acquire Japanese beef and absolutely saturates it in a foul, saccharine sugar-garlic-ginger-shoyu glaze, COMPLETELY obliterating and masking the flavor of the prized meat itself, and then selling it to rich people with no taste or palate, from a Rodeo Drive storefront. Oh, yeah, and they also soak the appetizers in the sauce. They must have buckets of the stuff in the kitchen and apply it to everything in sight with a fire hose.Between the food and service, for what they charge and promise, this was a legitimate 0/5 for me.
