Had dinner with friends, and the food was good, though we have had better back home in Houston, Texas.
Fast service, great food, but I wish that they would re-add Tea Smoked Duck to the menu.
What an experience!! The atmosphere is gorgeous and clean. The staff was caring, kind and funny. The food was some of the best Chinese food Ive ever had and I grew up in the East Bay Area. The portions were large, the food was fresh and just amazing! The chow mein and chicken with green beans were to die for and the sweet and sour pork was crispy, bite sized pieces of gloriousness!!

Visiting from out of town for work. Ordered the house chicken, side of steamed rice and crab puffs! Talk about delicious!! The spicy chili sauce at the table is way better than siracha! Waitresses were great, and kept my iced tea refilled promptly! I’ll for sure be back here! The only “down side” for some is they currently have canned soda and not fountain, but the food taste makes up for that! 5 stars in my book!
This is by far my favorite Chinese cuisine restaurant that I have ever been to. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is amazing, and the servers are so nice! I especially like the food, which I often have lots to take home as I can only stuff myself with so much. It reminds me of thanksgiving lol. I definitely recommend coming here with other people, as the portions are rather large, it’s perfect for family and friends.
Grew up with the Yen Ching from Fresno. Glad to find Yen Ching is alive and well in Lodi.Food tastes amazing and lunch is a great value. Staff is kind and remembers my family and me every time we come in.See you again next time!
Ive only ever had takeout from here. Its expensive but fresh and pretty good. The dining area seems ok. Its darker than other dining areas. For the price, you like to see more food.

We had a table full of food and everything was delicious. I recommend the yen ching prawns and the house chicken. The Mongolian beef was good, not too spicy. The noodles and fried rice were fresh and good too. The service was good too. The waitresses did a good job managing all six of us. Thank you
Traditional Chinese dishes made fresh daily. Weve made this our go to place for excellent food. Take out portions are just as big as those weve had inside before the pandemic. Call it in and 20 minutes later, a smiling, bubbly lady will deliver your order to the curb. In a word, sweet!
Always excellent! Whenever i have a cold i NEED the Hot-n-sour soup. Makes me feel better every time. Everything Ive ever ordered has been fresh & delicious! Best mandarin/chinese in town!

Food is very good in this place, service needs a little work because once they serve your food they forget about you but I guess all Chinese restaurants are like that.
Food is always good and the Lunch Special is a great value. But the place is old and tired looking. Some chairs are weak when you sit on them and the Bathroom smells of mold and needs to be disinfected regularly or up graded with a new coat of paint and tiles.
Food is really good. But I noticed their customer service has really gone down. Waitress didnt visit our table after bringing our food, we had to ask for more water and then that took more than 5 minutes to come back with a pitcher of water. Waitress brings the bill and when I told her I didnt need a to go box, she was done, didnt smile or say anything
Good prices! Love the Chow mien here. Good veggie plates too. The people here definitely work hard. I haven’t gone inside because of Covid but the decor is so COOL from what I can see.
Try to order egg foo young said they dont have anymore because of the eggs so charge more for the eggs silly silly silly
The food is average. The sweet and sour is very good. Servers are not very friendly, if they were more helpful and smiled and the restaurant offered some speciality dishes that were highlighted by the staff, they might be more engaging with their customers.
Best Chinese in Lodi! One of the last great lunch specials in town. Their Cashew Chicken is the best! Try the Mongolian Beef & potstickers, too. We have our favorite server but overall the service is great. Wish they had fountain soda instead of cans, but since everything else is so great, Im over that.
I have been here a couple times with coworkers and I like the food. We tend to get the lunch specials, which are a great price. $7 to $10 for soup, an egg roll, chow mein, and an entree. I dont like that they only have soda cans, though. I would still recommend going here, in spite of that
Yen Ching in Lodi, Ca. Is one of my favorites. The Chinese food here tastes great. I always order the Prawns a la Yen Ching....They are spicy in a red sauce. My wife ordered the beef chow mien and it was really good. My Son like always ordered the pot stickers and the Crab Puff’s.... the inside of the Puff’s here are mixed with onions, cream cheese and crab... great flavors. If your looking for excellent food with good prices this is a great place.
Pretty restaurant in a nice plaza with lots of parking. The food tasted kindo bland tho. The rice soup that I read about was really underwhelming, unfortunately
Used to be my go to place, but the last couple times have been bad. Sweet n sour pork, no flavor plus it seemed to be sitting because it was hot but soggy.Happy Family, no flavor. Walnut prawn, cold. They told me 20 min, I showed up in 15min. Time to spend my hard earned money somewhere else.

Absolutely great food prepared to perfection every time! Their Wonton soup and Hot & Sour soup are very good along with the Egg Foo Young and Shrimp with Lobster sauce.
Our family enjoys the food and service at Yen Ching. We have done takeout the past few years and are happy to actually recently be able to experience dine in again.
Food is hot, fresh and generally excellent! Atmosphere and selection is great, bathrooms could use a facelift, service a bit slow at times. Overall the best Chinese weve had in a while. We will be back!
Had dinner here last night and it was awful. Ordered Mongolian beef which was ok mostly onions. Wheres the beef? Also had orange chicken which was the best of everything but not great. Portions on the platters were small and the worst was the pork fried rice. Couldnt tell what the meat was and when we asked they said it was pork loin. Looked like tripe, was white and gelatinous. Definitely not pork loin. The last draw was a room temperature glass of chardonnay . Didnt eat the rice and will never go back.
I usually order the wanton soup when I come here in Lodi California its D delicious. The cook adds the variety wantons with pork, shrimp chicken and veggies. ❤

E have ordered from Yen Cheng for years. It’s always been good, we ordered last evening, hubby ordered sizzling rice soup, this soup had No Taste!! And I ordered a chow mein, garlic fried chicken and house chicken, the fried chicken had no taste of garlic, and we were just very disappointed in the food, 35.00 wasted, hubby said they lost a customer, sorry Yen Cheng, taste your food before sending it out, maybe it’ll keep the customers coming back
This is my favorite Chinese food in Lodi. They have both dine in (non virus times) and take out. The staff is all chinese however the hostess / cashier are young and speak very good English. This is nice if you need clarification on a menu item.There is a lot of parking, its easy to find, an easy drive and it is in a very safe area.Its back behind the IHOP, just look for the big red doors.My personal dine in favorite the Moo Shu Pork. The chow main is a take out staple.I highly recomend this place. I dont think you can go wrong.
Awesome hot and sour soup. When my husband has a cold its the only thing that makes him feel better. We swear by it in our house. The prices are good and the staff is amazing.
Really picky with chinese food but decided to give this place a try because of the reviews. Wonton soup for appetizer was A++, really good. Fresh vegetables, fish, shrimp, and a hefty amount of wontons. Best Ive ever had.On to the main courses, we had pork chowmein, shrimp fried rice, orange chicken, and fried chicken. I have to say everything was top notch, the chow mein had a freshness to it, the noodles had a chew to them that is hard to find, and a really good garlic flavor, a good amount of fresh vegetables also. This will be our new go to for chinese dining. Everything had a freshness to it that was surprising and enjoyable.
Excellant food love the chicken chowmein best ever, yen chen shrimp special to die for. Love the sweet and sour chicken altho they do add chunks of bell pepper in it so if you dont like them just order without. Love love love there food and service

2023-01-26 16:20:09Ive always loved Yen Ching, have been going for over a decade if not more to both the Stockton and Lodi locations. Yesterday I ate at the Lodi location. I have to say, food is always good but the service and personnel is not always kind or warm. Yesterday I got a lunch special. I was not allowed to substitute, theyve let me do it in the past but ok, I understand the reasons and I still loved my food. The server was cold and very NO! To everything I asked her. When she brought me the food I asked her for some sweet and sour and she was already leaving and giving me her back. Didnt even say ok, Ill bring it in a bit nothing just cold. She brought me water and never came back to ask if I was ok or needed more...I half way choked with my food and still couldnt get a hold of her to bring me anything. She appeared really quickly to drop off my bill and again disappeared quickly with no chance to ask her for ANYTHING. She was rude and unkind. I try and not go as often for that reason...because of the service. Food is great though for sure!

2023-07-07 00:18:5607/06/2023. I picked up an order of pork chow mein. The flavor was good. I needed to put a bit of soy sauce on it. It was ready when I arrived. The price was about the same as other places. The customer service was good and friendly. The place was clean and there is plenty of parking. I will be back to try other items.

2020-02-12 22:06:41The food was pretty good and not a bad price. I would have given it 5 stars but they did not have chicken in foil. Out of the tin foil apparantly. Crab puffs came out nice and hot. The service was very fast and the beef curry was delicious .
