The lights were out in Davis today(1/1/23) but we still decided to eat here since it had nice big windows. We really enjoyed all the food we had and will definitely be back. We got the Lamb Chefs Special Curry, Chicken Tikki Masala, samosas, and Buttered Naan Bread. The sauces on the two entries were delicous and paired so well with the Naan bread!

So we never tried Indian food before. I recommend getting mild versions of whatever you order if you dont have a spicy pallette. This was so delicious. Go for the chicken curry dishes. I asked for the most popular dishes and it did not disappoint. A cute little place that I overlooked for so long. Eager to go back soon.

A good relaxing place to have lunch or dinner. The food was served on metal cafeteria -style trays and was carefully prepared. I eat a lot of Indian food and these entrees were authentic. The Lamb Vindaloo was properly spiced and the side dishes were fresh and well-proportioned. Ill visit here again when Im in Davis.

I came here for the veggie Momos, they were delicious! We also ordered a veggie and a chicken Tikka masala. The gravy is on the sweeter side. Veggies are all frozen so as a vegetarian I was a little disappointed. Momos were good though!

Service was excellent and the restaurant is in the main square in Davis. I expected more from the food: mine and my friends food (chicken and fish) were a bit dry. They tasted ok, but I did not find anything special or that called my attention.

This place is absolutely amazing. It deserves 50 stars. I tried it the day before yesterday off of a friends plate and I had been craving it ever since so I called in and made an order today. They told me 10 minutes and I’m pretty sure I made it to the restaurant in about seven and the food was already ready and its been sitting for about 30 mins it’s still piping hot. The staff was super sweet and super kind. You’d be a crazy person to miss out on this gym in Davis. Hands-down 10 out of 10.

Ordered takeout: Paneer Tikka and Chicken Makhani and samosas. I will say the samosas was fabulous and crispy, one of the best ones I’ve had. I don’t consider the “taste” of the curry being sweet in this review to be the reason why I give them a low rating (since sweetness is preference based). I’m giving them this review because the curry was super watered down. These two curries were so watered down, we honestly didn’t even eat it after a few bites. The curries tasted like tomato base with cups of water. Even moving the plastic to go bins with the curries in it you can tell they are straight liquid. Now I’ve had my fair share of Indian cuisine, and I have NEVER had something this liquidy for a curry which usually is denser and tasty. I hope the curries when eating in are better.

Tasty lunch, great for sharing - Lamb Tikka Masala and Chicken Saag - the lamb was mildly spicy, both were pleasantly flavored, and the rice and buttered naan were fresh and light. All in all, a delicious (and healthy?) midday meal.

4.5/5 We came on a Tuesday for dinner time and was seated immediately. They provided good and quick service. We liked almost everything we ordered.We ordered dal soup, chicken makhani, vegetable combo plate, garlic basil naan, and mango lassi.Everything we ordered was flavorful. The chicken makhani is their butter chicken, and the meat came out soft and tender. I got it medium spicy, but I couldn’t really taste the spice for that, so I’ll probably try spicy next time. Everything on the veggie combo platter was yummy. I really enjoyed the spicy chutney, so much so that I had to ask for me. The samosa was good, and the naan was soft and fluffy.The only thing I didn’t like out of everything was ordered was the mango lassi. It wasn’t sweet, and it tasted like there was ginger or turmeric added to it (?).Overall, I would definitely come back again! Everything was reasonably priced too.

Yeti, in Davis California? Service was lovely, friendly and prompt. What really stood out was the food. The Okra Masala was bright full of distinctive flavors (spices) while the Children Tikka Masala was rich flavorful so much so I restrained my self from licking the container. The garlic naan is a super star in its own light with fresh minced garlic and other bright but delicate spices on top.

Just got back from the worst dining experience of my life. We ordered wine, an appetizer, entrees and dessert up front. The drinks and apps come in about 25 minutes...but we never got our entrees. After 1:15 of patiently waiting they come over and give us the bill. I had to tell them that we hadnt had all of our food yet, only the appetizers. After asking repeatedly what we ordered (even though it was on the check) we were left in suspense if our food would ever arrive. 20 minutes later I had to flag down the owner to ask for our food to-go because I didnt want to be there anymore and I was assured it would be out quickly. Another 20 minutes elapsed and we got the food and went home. Unfortunately on top of that the curries and daal were fairly tasteless and as others have said the tomato flavor tasted canned. I used to love this place. Id bring my mom when she visited and friends from out of town. Even ordering catering for the holi celebrations. It really hurts me to write this review, but I dont know if I can go back :(

This is one of the best places to eat in Davis, I’ve been here 10+ times in the last four years. Great atmosphere dining in, whether you sit inside or outside. So many vegetarian options. But takeout is also a great option too (parking can be a bit tricky if it’s busy though so consider bringing someone with you who can run in to grab it).

The worst Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The sauce, even though i requested spicy, was extremely mild… not even a hint of spice. Aside from the lack of spice, the sauces tasted like they were canned tomato sauce with some seasoning. It was gross. The soda was even flat, and not once did they ask to refill our drinks. Our experience was a total disappointment.

Subpar Indian restaurant. I ordered tandoori chicken and I could see them microwaving my tandoori chicken in the kitchen. If the food can be made in a microwave, what do I go to the restaurant for? The microwaved tandoori chicken was lukewarm and tasted old. I also asked for spicy but there’s no spice at all. Very bland. Won’t order it again.

I cant say I have eaten at many Indian restaurants, so based on my experience at Yeti with takeout, Ill give this review my best shot. I found the quality of their ingredients to be at a high standard with some dishes having bold flavors and others were kind of on the bland side. Maybe thats more of an issue of me and my (lack of) experience with Indian food and less of them. That being said, Ill try some different dishes the next time when Im in town.

I’ve been going to this restaurant since I moved to Davis in 2014. My family and I made it a goal to have Yeti once a week because we thought it was so delicious. However recently the food here has become pretty gross and it turned out that the previous owner left and now the Yeti is under new ownership. For some reason the new owners thought it’d be a good idea to alter the recipes. I usually order the tika masala and the makhani but they taste like tomato soup. It’s really disappointing that they decided to do that.. why fix what’s not broken? I probably won’t be going back anytime soon.. unless they decide to revert back to the recipes that actually work.

Good food.However, a to go package didnt have any utensils or napkins. Also, I ordered two portions of food that come with rice. They put only one. When I called them, I was told that that small portion is actually two combined.To sum up, they cook indeed good food. But overall impression is really bad.Not coming back again. Everything my group ordered was fantastic. Ive been meaning to try this place for years. I find the naan intriguing--thin, chewy, and tons of air pockets. The outdoor seating is a plus especially in these times. It is important to note that I stopped by several restaurants in town and the hosts did not wear masks, including this location. So Im not dinging for that because so many restaurants seem to do this in town. Its a risk to eat out these days and you have to rely and trust that people are taking precautions where it counts.

The lamb tikka masala was incredibly bad value, it had 6 very small, pieces of meat. The suave was incredibly sweet and plain, and not at a what I think of as tikka masala. The dal makhani was unlike any other Id ever had, again, very sweet and bland. Garlic cilantro naan didnt have the chewy texture I love in naan.I didnt like any of it and have had better tikka masala sauc out of a jar from Costco.

The pakoras have a very weird sour flavor that I havent tasted anywhere else, perhaps the batter is full of yogurt. The curry has no spice at all if you order it mild. I have a big sweet tooth and love sweet cuisines like thai food, but the chicken makhani was so sugary that my husband and I felt sick after eating more than a few bites. Their hot sauce (a concentrated curry) made the meal more tolerable after I put in the whole cup they gave me and added some salt. At least the service was good.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the outdoor seating and friendly staff. The only things that are hard are that dishes are more expensive than with other Indian/Nepali restaurants in Davis, and the food can take up to 30 minutes to prepare, so be prepared to wait. Luckily there are shops close by you can go to while you wait. I love the food variety and flavors here, especially the gluten-free dishes. The restaurant is beautifully designed. I miss it!

Best Indian food within 50 miles! We had been going for six years, probably once a week. Moved to Fair Oaks recently and it’s been so rough. We tried about 10 different Indian restaurants in the area and none of them come close. Same order every time: began bharta spicy, tikka masala medium, garlic cilantro naan. Best combo of flavors! Once we had kids, they got the tikka masala mild. Usually takeout because eating in a restaurant with toddlers is not a good time. However, they love it. The owners are incredible and kind, especially to my kiddos who were there before they were born and then making a mess on the patio once they were 0-5. 10/10 recommend. Best service, best food. We miss it greatly.

Normally order spicy + / ++ and this is a great level for us.We always order the bread basket and tend to eat that more so than the rice. It can take a little bit longer but its always so tasty and fresh. Very worth!Their Nepalese Samosas and vegetable pakora are gorgeous appetisers - but everything else Ive tried has been great too. Honestly I nearly always over eat here.. I love the place!If its busy, service can be a little slow but the food is well worth the wait. The servers are super friendly and helpful, one of the girls in particular always remembers the spice level we like to order and this really helps make us feel welcome back every time. My daughter goes to UCD and weve started exploring the restaurants Davis has to offer when we come to visit her. Weve ordered from Yeti twice and loved it both times! The food is reasonably priced and delicious! Weve ordered the dal, chicken vindaloo, different curries, samosas and loved them all. Just reading the menu makes my mouth water. There are many vegetarian options too. I will say that I ordered the Chefs Special Salad and it was meh. Lots of iceberg lettuce and the chicken was a bit dry. I watched with envy as my family ate their delicious hot meals. Lesson learned... Thats not their specialty. The BreadBasket with a sampling of 4 types of naan bread, etc was delicious! I havent eaten inside because of Covid, but they have their own outdoor patio and they face onto a shared courtyard with covered picnic tables. We also like to take our food to the Arboretum outdoor area to picnic. Enjoy!

Ordered the vegetable momos and chicken momos. Traditionally, Tibetan momos have very thin wraps and are stuffed with tasty fillings. But the momos served here had way too thick wrappings, felt like I was eating just thick flour. The vegetable momos had minimal stuffing. The chicken stuffing was tasteless. I used to go here regularly and enjoy the food but a month or so ago I had a surprisingly bad meal that looked and tasted like purple cough medicine and so I stopped going. Lamb House Special or something like that. There was also almost no meat as well. Could have just been a one-off cooking accident who knows, again I had many good meals there previously. Might be because she knew a south east Asian guy was served with (fake Biryani). This place is so good, I first went there on Tuesday, and I was back again on Sunday. Best tikka masala Ive ever had in my life. I got the paneer tikka masala (usually I go for chicken but I wanted to share with my vegetarian husband). It is outstanding! The naan is also great, and the samosa appetizer is AWESOME! They have so many options to choose from, and plenty of vegetarian stuff. We will be back many times.

As we were pressed for time and parking was difficult, we ordered to take our, 3 dishes on the lunch menu on Wednesday, May 30 - fish curry, chicken curry and lamb rogan josh. When asked, we ordered the dishes, medium hot and told them to make them on the milder side of medium. As it was take out, we prepaid by credit card but forgot to add the tip - we thought we would pay the tip in cash while picking up the food. When we took the food home, we could barely eat it as it was what my friend called diablo hot. We are of Indian origin and can eat very spicy food but this was unbearable hot - could not take a morcel without a large gulp of cold milk. Either the chef does not know how to control the level of spicyness or they did it intentionally because they thought that I had not tipped them. Either way, this is totally unacceptable

I made a pickup order in person, they are so friendly and the menu is rich and have many options, the food was really great, full of flavors, perfectly cooked and handled, we enjoyed every bite.They are a local family owned and managed resturant, I can say its home cooking.Thank Yeti.

Yeti had some pretty good food, though I think Kathmandu Kitchen nearby is probably superior. The restaurant is fairly small, so it feels cozy, and has outdoor seating, unlike Kathmandu Kitchen.

The fluffiest naan in Davis.Get Royal Kabul Naan for dessert!Yeti is my favorite place for Indian food in Davis.Kathmandu Kitchen is very edible, but sometimes lacks punch. Preethi has punch, but also has small bones and whole cinnamon sticks etc. in the food. Yeti fits nicely in the middle.BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, they make the best, softest naan in town.
