This is a generous three star review because they are a locally owned restaurant. Not good, I only ate 30% of the bento and left. It was a bad meal all around. First it took about 20 minutes for the food to come out. They forgot the curry. The tonkatsu didnt taste savory and I had to ask for sauce for both the gyozas and tonkatsu. When the curry finally arrived, after I asked for it, it was neither sumptuous nor umami. Heres some constructive criticism. Keep the dining area cleaner. There are flies and gnat in the restaurant (see photo.) Food needs to taste better. It is too plain and not authentic.

Will definitely be back for the “uji matcha I iced latte original” again. ….Nice strong authentic flavor and great value.(Went for medium sweetness and was happy that it wasn’t very sweet at all. ).Would like to try the French fries, gyozas and or curry tonkatsu next time I’m in the mood for a little something to eat.

This is our second time here.We had:Chicken Katsu CurryTonkatsu plateBeef Gyu donEggette with strawberry syrup, chocolate power and mochi balls.Hot green teaIve been eating and rating Japanese restaurants by their Tonkatsu since I was a kid. Im no expert but I know what I like and we agree the pork here is nice and tender, in fact it was more tender than our last trip to Tonkatsu Tamafuji, a specialty shop in HI. The Gyu Don was a nice simple bowl of thin sliced beef, broth, and a fried egg. Satisfying indeed. From a value perspective, there is no better value for Tonkatsu or Chicken Katsu, the portions are generous and the cost is modest, just like you used to pay before everyone started going crazy with their prices. Value aside its better than the vast majority of places. The owner is a sweetheart and is so gracious.

For a tiny cafe - I’d give this a 4.5 star review because they are super nice here! Was looking for a restaurant on a Wednesday night and found this tucked between two Japanese restaurants! First off, it’s super small and not your typical wait service cafe. You order at the counter and if they aren’t busy they can deliver your food but be prepared to get it as well at the counter. We ordered the chicken katsu sando and pork cutlet sando as well as chicken cutlet curry, jja jang myun, mushroom and egg curry, friend and panko spam musabi. All washed down with beverages! The pics of sandos you see are correct. It came as four halves and we could not finish it. The spread for the sando is a slight spicy mayo so if you aren’t into spicy, you may not enjoy this sando. My table mates could hand it but I enjoyed it heartily! The curry was decent and not spicy as was the jja jang myun. The noodles were a bit too soggy for my taste but my non-spicy, soggy eating noodle friends liked it! Not for me but it fit my pal’s palate. The panko spam musubi was a winner as well. This is a great place to grab a quick bite with no fuss or miss. They were so nice and open to feedback so we’ll be back to try other things on the menu since they have eggettes, fried calamari, popcorn chicken and other snacks!

Love this place! A cozy little place with lots of affordable food, snack and drink options. Maggie and Yoyo are also really pleasant and will make you feel welcome.Their mochi eggettes are really unique and tasty - definitely try it out if you love mochi/chewy stuff. They also serve generous portions! I got the chicken katsu and it came with two sizable cutlets, a side salad, and wakame. Hard to beat for the price, and also really yummy.I’ll definitely be back! Adding this one to the favorites list.

We stopped by for a snack and we’re glad we did! For the price, the Japanese curry had a good portion size. The hot mango green tea was delightful. The staff are also very kind and the cafe is decorated cutely. I’ll definitely be returning to try more drinks and I recommend coning here!

I recently discovered Yoma Cafe while driving around Irving Street, and it quickly became my favorite spot. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry and Taro milk tea with boba, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions of curry dish. The chicken katsu had a perfectly crispy coating while remaining tender inside and its super super juicy moreover the curry was packed with flavor and just the right amount of spices. I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients such as fresh veggies and Yoyo, the owner, informed me that she sources the freshest ingredients from the community market every morning to ensure that she serves only top-quality meals. The Taro milk tea was equally impressive, with fresh boba that was neither too hard nor too soft. It was just perfect boba I ever had.Whats more, the price was incredibly reasonable for the amount and quality of food provided. For just $10-12, I received a huge bowl of delicious, nutritious food and plenty of snacks start with $4- $8.The friendly staff and cozy ambiance contributed to my positive experiences plus the unisex restroom was immaculately clean, which demonstrated their commitment to hygiene.Overall, I highly recommend Yoma Cafe for their Chicken Katsu Curry, Taro milk tea and other menu options. Whether youre a local or just passing through, its definitely worth a visit.

Cute cafe, amazing service, great food.I went in with coworkers and the service was great. I ordered the fries, mozzarella sticks, gyoza, musubi, regular and chocolate egg waffle and got the mango carbonated drink. Everything was fresh, delicious and at a great price. My coworkers got meals and it looked so good! The drink was actually really pretty with the mango coloring and topped off with hibiscus tea. I should have taken a pic!

I’ve gone several times since they’ve opened & it was quickly becoming my go to local spot for Boba Tea, although I always chose the same drink (strawberry soy milk + boba) I decided to try something new & order popcorn chicken as well on 10/16z Unfortunately the drink had a sour/off taste to it this most recent visit & the popcorn chicken was very bland. I’m unsure if it was properly cooked as well as some larger parts there was batter that looked very light in color/ squishy to touch. Definitely need to work on their food quality to bring back more customers.
