Toshinoya is quite a popular brand and so I’m pretty disappointed with my experience here. One of the cashiers can’t really explain what’s on the menu. I mean come on you’re not a local mom and pop shop. Hire someone professional. Then when I was dining in I saw a lot of boxes stacked in the corner of the main dining space. Makes it feel more like a factory than a restaurant. Food is bland and not as great as it would taste in Japan. Overall I would not recommend it.

I come to Yoshinoya Cupertino when I am craving Gyu-don. I always order combo Gyu-don and teriyaki chicken because they compliment each other. Portion is great for the price -considering groceries are expensive now. Dont order their americanize menu and complained about them. Stick with Gyu-don, vegetable and rice. If you want restaurant quality, you have to pay more. This is a fast food restaurant.

The original beef bowls are probably the best, out of the entire menu, and also happen to be the food that Yoshinoya is famous for. Just dont forget to ask for vegetables to complement the beef. Otherwise, the beef bowl will just be beef and rice.

Yoshinoya is okay and honestly hit or miss. Their teriyaki chicken bowl is good, but sometimes the chicken can be really dry and tough (my experience last time). The beef bowl is good, but the beef is on the fatty side and lacks flavor. They have good deals if you subscribe to their app, though, which I like (like a free bowl for signing up and free bowl for your birthday). I wish the staff was a bit friendlier. The lady there was kind of rude when I picked my order up last time.

Arguably, this is the worst Japanese kitchen Ive ever had. The food quality is not it, especially the chicken and steak, which have an awful taste. Its crazy how chicken teriyaki can be prepared poorly. Please do better or close the kitchen. Respectfully.

This has got to be the worst 吉野家　in the whole world! It used to be good. But everything changed during the pandemic. Food quality, service and shop conditions all went downhill drastically. Maybe I should open up a 松屋 nearby so I can still get good 牛丼. What a shame.

Probably one of the best fast food chains out there. Although its been tough for the chain that expanded so fast in the 90s. This, I believe is the last Yoshinoya in the Silicon Valley. The Santa Clara, downtown San Jose locations have sinced closed. The only other store that Ive seen in California is in Glendale.Today I got the beef and Teriyaki chicken Combo bowel. For the price, decent helpings of protein, along with rice and some mixed vegetables. The mixed veg is bland, but you wont find veg servings this big in any American fast food joint. The topping of sesame seeds and green onions is a nice touch.So overall, lots of protein for the price, consistant product, at good value. Ya cant beat that.

First time here. We see this place everywhere in southern California. We figured they have been around for a while so they must be doing something right since a lot of fast food chains have closed...so decided to try for the first time. Cashier was friendly and willing to recommend their popular menu item which is the original beef. It was good! Very tasty and filling. I would eat here again.

Fast food joint with quick service. You can dine in or take out. I would say you can substitute this for your Panda Express cravings. Atmosphere was clean and quiet. I ordered the small bowl of rice and beef and it is enough to fill you up. If you want vegetables, youll need to order a combo.

For a place that’s been around for over one hundred years you’d think they’re doing something right, which they are! These is my favourite Japanese quick service restaurant, and it always fills you up. The place absolutely offers the best value for your money, more so than any other restaurant. I never leave here still feeling hungry. Their biggest combo is $11 and you are given plenty of food. I wish they had more locations here in the bay like in the Los Angeles area. This place stays true to its authenticity and tastes very similar to the locations in japan.

The next 3 times were terrible, I kept giving them a shot but the food was so *consistently* bad that its not a fluke, its how this location is run. My coworker agrees in the change in qualityX The noodles are mushy and broken into small pieces bc they are so overcooked. The chicken is hard and they barely put any sauce. How you order feels similar to Panda Express, but tastes and flavor is more geared to Japanese style cuisine like teriyaki chicken/beef/pork bowls with rice and veggies as a complete meal.If you want something quick, fast and hot, this place delivers. This is a small place, but their food is pretty awesome. As is typical of fast food places, this food is reminiscent of Asian food, but really is kind of in its own category. Kinda like Taco Bell is not real Mexican food, but is delicious nevertheless. It does make me sad that this is my closest Yoshinoya, as it is quite far from my home, but whenever I am in the area, like today, I grab something. =)

This place is an establishment. It must be protected at all costs because its the only location in the bay area/NorCal and it is so good. TOTALLY CHAOTIC EXPERIENCEI ordered through the app. When I arrived at the store, they told me they didnt have my order. They found my order after about 5 minutes. Then, they told me my two combo bowls order only had one item per bowl. I had to pull out my order confirmation email for them to copy over.Then I wasnt able to reimburse my coupon. I told them that thats what the instruction at the app said to do. I showed them the app where it says to Redeem in store. The app doesnt give a chance to use a coupon before completing the purchase and yet the store said the coupon couldnt be used once the order is completed.The person at the counter did offer me a cash reimbursement which I declined. I appreciated the gesture but I told her Im mad at the system not working and not so interested in a few dollars. The point of ordering online is to minimize time spent in the store and to avoid touching cash during this pandemic. When my order was finally filled one of the items was incorrect and they gave me a separate container for the item I actually ordered. It took 25 minutes to go through this experience inside the store while it was raining outside.I dont think I will revisit Yoshinoya.

I grew up eating Yoshinoya, so I’m very biased. I love the Original Beef and Teriyaki Chicken. Everything else can take a hike. Orange Chicken, Spring Rolls, Sweet Chili Shrimp and fried rice are like some PF Chang Chinese-American style dishes. Clam Chowder? C’mon, that isn’t even Asian. They don’t even have miso soup anymore.Anyway, I’ll keep coming back as long as I can get the classics. I wish they’d get all new management and focus on the basics of Japanese fast casual, more like Gombei Bento.

Ive been coming here for years. Actually, the first time I ate at one was in Japan. Was sad when the Santa Clara location closed a couple of years ago, as it was close to home. Anyway, menu has been updated but the classic bowls are still there. A new person was just learning the register and had no idea what a combo bowl was, but the training person was right there helping him along. Always found the service good and staff friendly. The best way to describe it is: American fast food grease in Japanese cuisine. I tried the original beef, teriyaki chicken, angus beef and vegetables over rice. Everything tasted average. Not bad, but not that good. Prices are on the low end at $5.75 for small, and $6.75 for large. So, its worth what you pay, but i personally prefer to pay more for better quality food.

Yoshinoya is my favorite fast food restaurant. I grew up in Southern California where there are locations just about everywhere. Unfortunately, there is only one location left up here in the Bay Area. Despite it being in Cupertino, I make the drive across the bay to enjoy this restaurant because it reminds me of home back in SoCal. The reason why I give this place only three stars is because at 10, they run out of rice. Mind you, the restaurant doesnt close until 11 pm. I was told that Rice would be available but I would have to wait at least 20 minutes. I believe this is very unsatisfactory, and Unbecoming of the Yoshinoya brand.Update 27FEB20... Raised it back a star because they had food available this time and the lady that was working the register was very professional. Food was amazing as always. Nice turnaround from my last experience.

The first time I are here there was a rock in my sirloin beef bowl. I bit into it and then spit it out. Lucky to not break my tooth or swallow it. The 2nd time I ate here the teriyaki chicken bowl did not have any rocks in it. And I got a free refill on my soda. I will be back to try the classic beef bowl that my friend Jerry says is the best.

Its not very high quality and its not very good for you...but the beef bowls are tasty and cheap. It is one of my favorite fast foods and I would eat there a lot more if it were closer.I remember when Yoshinoya only had three items on the menu - beef bowl, chicken bowl, and veggie bowl. They have made a lot of additions over the years, and the new items dont seem that appetizing to me (though Ive never had them). My only decision is small beef or large beef bowl.Beef rice bowl is a real Japanese dish, called gyudon, that you can order in real Japanese restaurants. Yoshinoya provides the traditional condiments of pepper and red pickled ginger. I prefer Yoshinoyas taste to any other Ive tried.

Im sorry, but after tasting Yoshinoya in Japan, the chain in US just doesnt cut it anymore. First of all, Yoshinoya serves Beef Bowl. That means its supposed to be served on a bowl, not on a styrofoam plate. Also the taste is just subpar compared to the original one. I used to satisfy my cravings by going to one of the three stores in south bay, but never again. They need to learn from the original again.
