Nice restaurant on the main street. Comfortable ambient music and nice table waiting.The food was very good! The spring rolls were one of the best I ever had. The spicy chicken was good a little bit above average.1 less star only because it was not as cheap as expected. So if you think to have a fast and cheap you get only the first one.Overall recommended.

I ordered the basil chicken lunch special. The flavor of the chicken was good, but there was very little chicken. Most of the basil chicken entree consisted of onions. It didn’t occur to me to take a picture of the onions that were left in the box until I ate all of the chicken. This was approximately half of the onions that were left! Additionally, the rice was not fresh. It looked like day old rice at best.I’m not sure what the service procedure is for lunch, but I walked in hoping to get a table. I was given a menu at the door and had to place a to go order. I wasn’t offered a table and I assumed that there was no seating for lunch. When I returned to pick up my order, I saw that people had been seated since I had placed my order. My assumption was that they don’t want customers at the table ordering from the lunch menu and that they prepare lunch portions to go quite differently from the regular menu. Diner beware.

Owner not a very friendly guy. Lady serving food was very nice and knew owner had made me feel unwelcome. Food was good but with so many great Chinese restaurants, its hard to say I would return here. If anything to help support those working there because the owner/manager guy is someone who made me feel unwelcome

OK so I decided to try this place because someone told me it was really good and Im always out looking for a good new Chinese restaurant. Well I was very disappointed to say the least. I ordered the sesame chicken which was SO soggy and WAY too sweet for it to be sesame chicken plus the broccoli in the dish was WAY overcooked and mushy too. The sesame chicken reminded me of sweet-and-sour chicken which Im not a fan of. The Mongolian beef I ordered was actually very good very spicy which I love. The popcorn chicken was extremely soft and had no crispy texture to the outside of it at all And the portion was tiny. The green beans I thought would be delicious but were overcooked and very blah it says its made in their special sauce but I didnt taste any sauce at all. I make better green beans with my eyes closed. The beef Chow Mein and chicken fried rice were actually very good. Thats the only thing Id order from there again. And whats really upsetting is this nasty food cost me a $117. Total waste of money I would rather gone to Trader Joes and got me the Orange chicken and compow chicken and I wouldve made the fried rice myself and green beans myself. Very expensive meal for extremely average Chinese food.

I had the Kung Pao Chicken. The portion was great and the taste was spot on. I just wished it was a little more spicy. The steamed rice I also ordered was good and easy to eat with the provided chopsticks (one of the only things I can use the chopsticks for), and I tend to judge the quality of the rice by my ability to do this. Great work across the board.It was the customer service that made this place special. They noticed me right away, and when I specified I was going to be on my own, they promptly switched me to a warmer, inner bench seat. Great work all around.Close to the airport, public transportation, and public (2 hour) parking.I wish they were in Miami.

Always a wonderful dining experience. The staff is attentive and remembers our favorite dishes and drinks. They ask after our family if they arent with us. They really make an effort to get to know us. The food is amazing and always cooked to perfection. Ive never had a complaint about going to dinner here.

All in all a great experience, I have zero complaints about this wonderful restaurant. My girlfriend & I were in town for a few days and this was a spur of the moment decision due to another restaurant that wen enjoy being too packed. I guess it was meant to be! They use quality ingredients & its very obvious they dont cut any corners.The sesame Chicken, orange peel, pot stickers, spring rolls & Chow mein are all good choices.Will definitely be repeating!

It was edible. I ordered the Sesame chicken with extra vegetables and asked them to make it spicy. The 2 star rating is for two reasons: First, it was WAY TOO sweet. I expect that in the midwest, but in the bay area, I was hoping for more authentic sauces. Secondly, on a to go order via delivery service, (I was staying at a hotel), provide utensils, or at least napkins.

Had the general chicken and beef chow mein. The general chicken was good, but it didnt really have any spice to it and it was on the sweet side. The beef chow mein was where it really fell apart. The beef in the chow mein was excellent and so was the noodles, but the shredded cabbage in the beef chow mein ruined the whole dish. The shredded cabbage was on the verge of spoilage wilted and brown. It looked like they tried to mix it with some fresher cabbage to try to get rid of their old stock.

The worst customer experience ever. If you have a toddler, do not come here. You will immediately feel completely unwelcome and frowned upon. My two years old ate just like how a toddler would. Rice fell on his chair and on the floor. The owner started sweeping the floor with a big sigh and frown while we were still eating. On our way out, the same owner SHOUTED at us saying we need to respect them. EXCUSE ME?!!! The owner needs to learn the basic etiquette 101 of running a restaurant business, that is to treat a customer with respect. Do not come here if you have a toddler.

I frequent Young Can Wok every so often on my lunch break . I typically get the same thing every time I am here . I love their delicious hearty wonton soup. Thin and delicate wonton wraps filled with what taste like fresh shrimps, pork, pepper,sugar, chopped green onions, garlic, and ginger in rich savory steaming hot and delicious broth. Its so delicious !!! The Green onions, garlic, and ginger really brings out an Unami kick to the wonton soup. They do offer portion sizes, large or small. I usually get the small. I recall six wontons in the small size. Im not sure about the large one.The restaurant is clean, bright and has a delightful ambiance. Love their delicious wonton soup. I highly recommend Young Can Wok !

Food is good but service… poor, be careful when ordering because waitress might just randomly guess what you want and don’t repeat the order back, once they bring the food to the table they don’t come back to check on you, once they do comeback they will give you attitude on why you didn’t say the order was wrong earlier? So rude and you can’t have that stress when your hungry because it ruins your appetite 🤔 this place is definitely a classic Chinese takeout and not a dine in experience destination. Wound never bring a date here, I hope the service improves because the owners seems like a nice guy.

First of all, the couple that runs the restaurant are very rude! I asked the guy why he added 20% service charge to a bill of two for the amount of $29.90. There was not a reason to do so! He yelled at us and told us to not come back if we didn’t like the 20% on the bill. Service is bad and people here are rude! It was my second time and it was worst than the first one. My husband and I are not looking forward to coming back to this place! Food is not even worth it.

Dont let those false reviews fool you. The owner and the lady are unfriendly, and the lunch is a prime time for business, I was the only there eating until 45 minutes later, one more guy walked. The reason is their food is not Chinese food cooked right, they just put everything together and serve. Yuck.On top of that, they are unfriendly individual.Should stay away from this place.

This is my go to since my first taste. Love love love this place.11/24/20: it has been a rough year for most of us and its good that there are some things we can count on. Young Can Wok is one of them. I am home but order for pick up or delivery and I have never been disappointed. They provide fresh, healthy and delicious food. Its a comfort and a pleasure. I cant wait until we kick this virus butt and I can eat at the restaurant where I feel like Im with family.

My daughter and 3 Grandchildren went to dinner here 2 wks ago. The food was absolutely delicious, best I’ve ever had. I live in Marin, and haven’t found a restaurant this good. The owner came over to our table, talked to the children, and was so interested in us. The service was perfect. The food and presentation was fabulous. We have found our restaurant to go to next time we visit. My Grandchildren couldn’t get enough.. they said best they ever had. Victoria, is 7 and twins are 4. They can’t wait to go back. Staff was very friendly and the establishment was very clean. I ordered the lunch special Mongolian Beef and requested it not spicy. I also didnt want rice, so they just gave me more side salad (awesome!). They accidentally made my dish spicy, so they had to remake it, which meant I had to wait a little longer. But I do appreciate that the hostess said she forgot to tell the cook and that he is remaking it. Word of warning: Be prepared to pay cash if your bill is less than $20. In order to use your credit card, there is a minimum $20 purchase. Since this was my first visit, she waived it and allowed me to pay with my card. The Mongolian Beef was good; the side salad was good. With tax and a small tip (since I ordered takeout), it came up to about $15. I think thats a little high for what I ordered, but considering this place is on Broadway, the table settings were well set up, the staff was professional and accommodating, I understand that it would be that much, I think....lol Ill most likely be back; the food was good.

Update:The service here sometimes can be so curt and bizarre. Ive seen them argue with customers about seating when the place was almost entirely empty. I have personally gotten the short sharp I dont take orders here and a finger pointing to the other unoccupied register indicating I should order from nobody just a few feet away. I used to rate this place 5 stars, now they are lucky to have 2. The food saves them, just a little bit. Came here while passing through Burlingame. The first night we got there just before closing. We ordered to go and they were very helpful. My husband got the Kung Pao chicken and I got the Black Bean chicken. Both very good, so we went back the next night. Many of the customers were clearly regulars. The food was cooked to order and very good. Fast service. We got the mu shu chicken the second night, which was phenomenal.

A year ago at BABScon we ordered Young Can Walk, and it was absolutely delicious. The person on the phone didnt rush me when I had questions, they offered suggestions, and even though it took about 15 minutes to get to us, the food was still hot and tasted amazing. Shockingly rude manager. Bland food. The server brought out one of the dishes ordered by our party of three leaving us with an awkward situation. Should we wait so we could all eat together? After 10 more minutes I approached the manager to see when the other persons food (a simple fried rice and chicken dish) would be served. He said you dont know Chinese! Thats the way we do it! He became very agitated when all I asked was for him when it would be served. Geez! This guy was very insulting, suggesting I should honor the Chinese tradition of not serving everyone at once. The waiter said no but another worker came and said that we could, I mean after all no one was in the place. So after eating we said we were ready to pay and asked the waiter could we get separate checks. She still proceeded to bring a non split check that totaled to $44.00. With my meal totaling 16.00 with tax included we asked again could you please split the check. She said yes and took our debit cards but came back with a paid receipt showing 22.00 on each of our receipts. I explained to her that my meal wasnt 22.00 and that they were over charging me. She said there nothing that she could do about it. A guy came over who exclaimed he was the manager. I explained to him and showed him that my meal was 16.00 but the waiter charged me for 22.00. He said that before we ordered our food we should have told them that it would be separate tickets and that there was nothing he could do about it although he knows my meal was 16.00.He then suggested that my friend go get cash and pay me back. This is not the type of treatment I expect when going to support a business. They wont except anyone giving them 11.00 for a 15.00 meal, so why did they think it was ok to over charge me. I will never support this business again because its not only about the small amount of money that I do work hard for but the principle. It was wrong!

We entered this restaurant at approximately 7:30PM/06DEC and were asked by one of the male server for the number of persons who will be dining and was told to wait while he clears out the table. We were waiting by the door for 5 minutes when 3 diners entered the restaurant and a female server approached them and greeted them and have them seated immediately.That female server blatantly discriminates us by ignoring the fact that we arrived ahead of the 3 guests which she claims to have reservations when I confronted her about it. I told her that if their restaurant only accepts diners with reservations then they should have not asked us to stand and wait while tables are being cleared.This female server should know that bringing guests through their front door is the first step to making a profit. Hence, restaurants are obliged to make the seating and reservation procedures as smooth and fair as possible in order to elevate the total quality of the customer experience. Seating procedures that show courtesy and care for the guest aids in building a pleasant first impression, whether your restaurant accepts reservations or not.Gentle and polite explanations can assuage most guests and create a great impression of your service
