Found this spot while up from the city and it’s now our go-to. Fish is fresh and the rolls from my guy at the sushi bar amazing. Also make sure you get the crispy chow mein! Sushi and noodles? Phenomenal!

Go to place for Chinese food in the area and is absolutely above average. They probably deserve 5 stars and after a few more visits I may give them that. Pot stickers are perfect (and I mean perfect).

Good sushi, really good cucumber salad. Slightly small rolls, unagi is being used sparingly. Really cool atmosphere, great service for a Friday night. Presentation was considered for ever dish. Also good roll veriety. Would good again but its not my favorite sushi place.

This is my first time at this place. I loved their service. The manager/head came to us and we didnt eat our shrimp dish because it has very distinct seafood smell, we didnt say anything and he asked me couple times if the food was good and I told him about the smell and he explained me why and still took the dish off of our bill... thats so nice of him... I never really have that good experience at Chinese restaurant. Im truly impressed and appreciated their service.Overall the beef and veggie fried rice was good, tasty and fresh... they also added sprouts for me with no charge. The service was 5 star definitely. I loved it. Thank you.

The. Best. We come every time we’re in the area. Where to even begin? Favorite sushi roll is Lion King. Also loved volcano, lucky star, AC/DC. Love that the won ton soup is full of veggies. Cucumber salad with crab is a must. Even the tempura ice cream for dessert: green tea ice cream breaded in pound cake and fried. YUM!

Hidden Gem. Dont judge a book by its cover, is all I can say. Go inside and enjoy a great ambience and well prepared sushi. If you want Chinese food, thats also there (weird yes, but it works). Very established place...do it!

I love Yu Shang I’ve been coming here since I was a teen. Now I bring my 2 girls. We come over from Sausalito to get the famous Crab Special & cucumber salad and it incredible. I give this place 5 plus stars. Try the crab special or anyone of there specialty rolls. Your stomach will thank you!!

Yu Shang was my favorite sushi bar for the 35 years I lived in Marin. After living in Washington for 2.5 years, it was wonderful to return to Yu Shang and enjoy many of my favorite dishes. Prices are very reasonable, too. Everyone is always so welcoming there. Dont miss it!

This place is a joke. Not tasty at all. Missed items from our order. The nastiest Chinese weve ever had!! The fried rice was a joke and the pot stickers were so soggy and disgusting. Absolutely no flavor to anything. The worst meal weve ever bought and it cost $100!!! The fried rice was just white rice with their leftovers and no soy sauce or flavor whatsoever. We were in a hotel to We were SOL. It was so terrible we ordered pizza instead.

Its a unique experience the food has great taste the service was good but the building the restaurant is in should be demolished. If you can over look that youll have a great time. I will go back to give it a second try. Oh by the way I recommend the crab cucumber salid, the rolls where above average, the plating looked great and the fish seamed to be fresh.

Even though I dont usually associate Mandarin cuisine with sushi, their sushi menu looked good online. So, I ordered the Dynamite Roll and Rainbow Roll after a nearby hike in the woods. My takeout order was quick, very fresh, and tasted excellent.

The sushi here is reasonable and fairly decent. The dragon rolls are probably the best. The Chinese foot had a Vietnamese twist to it, but is good enough for a rainy day. The fried menu it appears to be cooked on lard or some sort of vegetable lard because they feel heavy as you eat. The wings are very good and crispy but to sweet instead of spicy. The service is always great and very pleasant.

The sushi was ok but the service was terrible. The server didnt get the order right and we waited for about 30 minutes while the kitchen made the missing selection. In the mean time the manager tried to give us the check so we would leave! Seriously rude.

Been coming here for years. They have Chinese food and Japanese (sushi) and both are very good. Its fun to sit around the chefs at the sushi bar and chat with them. Tell them what you like and they will suggest specialty rolls you might like. Friendly and energetic staff. Barely any wait times and prices are fair. If you havent already I suggest to come here for the food and atmosphere.

A little odd, this restaurant serves both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, but that may be great to appeal to everyone in your group. May I suggest you stick with one cuisine as its a bit odd on the palate to mix them. The portions are large and they make an effort to make you happy.

Love this place. Moved to the area a year ago and this is still one of my favs to visit! Vinny knows how to make you feel like family, and the rest of staff is very attentive. Ive only eaten at the sushi bar so Im not sure what its like to get a table here but it seems pretty open for walk ins! Very clean and they have some AMAZING rolls.Sad to see a couple of negative reviews but it sounds like people who just dont know how restaurants like this work. This isnt a place to course your meals, most asian restaurants dont work like that. So if thats your goal, you should inform your server. And the staff is very accommodating. Ive tried a couple dishes that werent my cup of tea (all things I havent tried before) and theyve had no issue with remaking it or doing something to resolve the situation. Posting a bad review on yelp when you couldve just let your server know so they can at least TRY to fix it sounds a bit ridiculous to me, but maybe people would rather not deal with the hassle?

This is my Cheers... the place where everybody knows your name. The service by the killer wait staff, or the chef at the bar is beyond great. And the food? Sublime. Fresh ingredients, a flexible style to custom build any order, and the best cucumber salad anywhere!I have eaten at many sushi places. And every time I stray, I am disappointed I didnt go to Yu Shang in the first place.If youre in the area, stop in! Its intensely worth it!

Usually the dining and food are really good and the staff is really nice. But you have to be really careful when you order out. Usually they get phone orders wrong 8/10 times. So if you cant eat certain foods be aware of that.

The sushi chefs are quick to fill orders, and even make you something special if youre undecided. Love them!If you order from the kitchen, be prepared to wait because theres a whole restaurant theyre filling orders for, too so it does take a while.**watch your bill when paying, Ive caught adding errors, or being charged for items I didnt order.

Big sushi rolls with creative toppings and plating, although they do feel slightly overpriced. The Chinese food is on point and pricing was appropriate for the portion size.Parking is limited in front on the street but if you turn right on the next block into the grocery store, go all the way through the parking lot to the exit, you can jump across the one way street into their back lot to park there while you eat.

I love the big sushi bar, the sweet guys who work there, the giant sunomono with crab special (I order it without the mayo), the Twister Roll, and most of all I love that if I want to have dinner with someone who doesnt eat sushi, they can order reeeally good Chinese food. I went here with a group so I didnt have much choice in the matter. My food alarms were going off since they broke the cardinal rule of doing way to much on their menu. They cover the full asian gamut: sushi, chinese, vietnamese (is Thai coming?).Surprising, it wasnt bad. Sushi was good but not great. A little pricey but not bad that way. The spider rolls were a little more than normal but they were ridiculously fat.Chinese was ok. Had some basics: mu shu pork, hot and sour, etc. Everything was by the book good but nothing amazing.Vietnamese was ok too. I may be a little jaded since Im used to little vietnam in San Francisco. This wasnt at that level but it was pretty good.Final verdict: great if you want it all at one meal. If you want a particular type of food, better off going to a good place that focuses on that - youll save a little too. Im in the 2nd group.
