What an incredible restaurant! It may not look like much from the outside but the food was amazing. I had been craving some Mediterranean food after not having any for close to a year, and ordered the kofta kebab plate (comes with fattoush salad, hummus and pita, and yellow rice) and a piece of baklava for dessert. The food was heavenly. Every bite was pure bliss! I couldn’t help but finish every single piece of food on each plate.

I wasn’t sure about this place - yes, I was judging by the outside but I’m glad my husband and I decided to give it a try. Such an amazing food!!! Never had something like it. Portions are big enough for two people to share. The flavors are exceptional. I recommend the chicken kabob plate, lime-mint lemonade (very refreshing) and the kibbeh. You won’t regret it!!

Excellent Mediterranean food. We enjoyed several appetizers for what we thought would be a light lunch and were stuffed when we left. Total was $40 after a 5% discount for paying cash.The falafel are excellent as are the hummus/lehmeh and tabbouleh salad. It was plenty for two hungry people. We also shared the must-have mint-lemonade smoothy. Excellent on a hot day, and its usually hot in yucca valley.

Im far away from home (Canada) where gyros, shawarma etc is plentiful and the food here made me feel less homesick. The restaurant is so clean, very friendly staff, and the food is AMAZING. I came two days in a row and would keep going back if I wasnt headed elsewhere. The portions are so generous and you can really taste the quality ingredients used. I tried the gyro sandwhich, falafel, and the beef kofta plate - all 10/10!

The food is literally some of the best Ive tasted. Its a repeat stop and will remain that way for me. The young men in this family owned business are kind and do a fabulous job at holding this place down and the chef deserves an award. It just tastes so good. I usually get my food to go but have sat and eaten a few times. If your a nerd for a beautiful atmosphere like me, this place is clean, but leaves much to the imagination. Id love to see some plants and perhaps some food related regional artifacts! That would be fun. But overall ... This is some yummy, healthy grub!

The food here is outstanding! Great to refuel after a day of hiking, generous portions and flavor is top! We tried the beef kabob and kofti kebab and both were perfectly cooked, beef was so tender. The tabouli is a huge portion. Would definitely eat here again!

Unbelievably great kabobs and middle eastern food. The hummus is some of the best Ive had. Period. Its worth a visit if you are in the area or fresh out of the Joshua Tree National Park. I also highly recommend their limonada drink.

My wife and I shared the main kabob entre, and it was plenty of food. The food was so good I had to buy their kabob seasoning, that the sell there.

My daughter and I stopped for the first time. I was shocked at how absolutely delicious every single bite tasted. I had the chicken shwarma. Even the salad was very tasty. If you go, notice how warm the pita bread is. Simply delicious.

I was here a couple of years ago and Im happy to see that this hidden gem isnt so hidden anymore. Growing up in NYC Ive had my share of excellent Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food but Yucca Kabob is exceptional. That complex, garlicky hummus and soft warm pita bread is something that lingers in your memories--I still think about it to this day! Planning to visit Joshua Tree NP again as an excuse to get another great meal here!

Best kabob I’ve had, maybe ever. Everywhere was busy on a Saturday so we came here after reading the good reviews and were so happy we did. Large portions, the spices used were so fragrant and delicious, and amazing homemade hummus. Also had a Turkish coffee to go with the food which was fabulous.

This was our first time here… and it was AMAZING!! The quality of this food was top tier on par with similar food we’ve had down in LA. My husband has been in 29 for over 4 years and he never tried this place until today. Definitely a gem in the Hi-Desert. We will be back! We got the falafels as an appetizer which were amazing, and then I got the Chicken Shwarma & my husband got the Beef Kabob plate. 10/10 Stars.

I ordered the wrong thing and was not disappointed. I accidentally ordered the kabob and partaking of the beef I could taste its freshness. It was slightly rare and seasoned to perfection. You can taste the earthy tones beef has when freshly slaughtered and I feel immensely nourished and satisfied with my mistake. I shed a tear with how gratified I am with this meal 😭. All this other food is poor quality with no seasoning and this restaurant is a beacon of flavor in a dry land. Only problem I have is the price because I can only go once a month now👎😭.

Great authentic food - a hidden gem. Some of the most authentic Greek / Mediterranean food Ive had. Everything was good. The kabob portion was enormous. Kabob was delicious, some of it was a tiny bit dry, I would probably go for the shaved meat next time around.The hookah lounge is separated from the eating area.

Amazing food, flavor, and service. Portions were generous. Only a 4 star because I ordered a lot of food. And got a huge portion of the cucumber yogurt sauce and got one pita to eat it with. But I just put it on everything, salad, the main entree and still had more to eat. My husband who is super picky said it was good. Love that it was opened past 8 (for take out only, but would rather have good food than just fast food), as everything else closes at 8.

Great falafel and mint lemonade. My parents both got gyros and they were so salty they were uneatable. The server wasnt very attentive (though he was friendly) so there was no chance for them to make it right with us. The dolmas were rock hard and the pickles in the pita tasted bad. Would not go back.

Im writing this review in the future, reflecting on the past, because this is the best middle eastern restaurant Ive found and have yet to find something that competes.my partner and I got takeout here in 2022 as we stayed in joshua tree after a long day of hiking fueled by mere snacks. With a ravishing appetite, we ordered a ton of food and brought it back to our place.When I say this is the best middle eastern food Ive ever had in my life, Im not exaggerating. To this day, her and I still search high and low in different states around the country for a place that tastes this fresh and delicious and have yet to find one. Its disappointing because I live in texas now, so far from having the chance to eat here again, but its also invigorating to know that a hole in the wall restaurant in the middle of the desert is serving up food this good.sidenote: ive been to the middle east before to have food like this and its right on par if not better than most vendors out there.Seriously, I love this establishment. 50 Minutes wait time to get the food, got the wrong order instead of gyro wrap got the plate. When I asked they suggested to wrap it in my pita bread or wait another 45 minutes. No acknowledgement on the order mess up or adjusting the price. Only saving grace was food was decent, but I already lost the appetite from the wait time and bad service.

Its a little on the pricey side for us so we can only go once in a while but we wish we could go every day!Weve gotten the kibbeh and falafel appetizers and multiple entrees including the gyro shawarma and the kofta shawarma as well as the chicken kabobs. Based on the recommendation of a friend, my son and I had lunch at The Yucca Kabob. We were not disappointed. In fact, we will be eating there more often. The portions were not skimpy. I ate over half, and still had enough left to fill a to-go container. Two people could have easily shared this meal. I had the Chicken Kabob plate. My favorite part was the hummus and fresh made pita bread. Best Hummus in the Hi-desert. It was so good, I ordered a container to go. The price for the food and drink was about $15.00 a piece. Well worth it.

We found this unassuming restaurant in a sparsely lit strip mall and it exceeded all of my expectations. JT Coffee Co aside, I think this was our favorite meal while we stayed in the Joshua Tree. The 2 brothers working were both extremely friendly and helpful when making our order.We ordered 2 plates - the chicken kabob and the vegetarian (falafel). Both came with delicious humus, likely homemade, a Mediterranean salad, and our protein of choice. Although the falafel wasn’t the best I’ve had, the combination of all the other plated elements (and dolmas!) made this meal so delicious I would specifically come back here if I find myself in JT again.

Their menu is nice a page long and it seems that they are serving fresh food every time.My food was seasoned perfectly and the hummus is authentic. Nothing feels like it was frozen at all. My only concern is that when a lady came in? She took over, who I am guessing is the owner. She doesnt look at me nor she smiles. Its kind of a downer moment. I only tip good when the combo of customer service and food combine is awesome.I would still recommend this place though. They are just a little bit pricey ($$) but the explosion of flavor in your mouth is so worth it. I would come back when I get another craving of middle eastern food.

This was a perfect meal after a long day of exploring Joshua Tree. Other national parks need to take notes on what kind of local restaurants they should have nearby; this place sets the bar really high and exceeded my expectations. Nothing on the chicken kabob plate was wasted. Every component was excellent and meshed together. The hummus and tahini have very good flavor and texture (go out of your way to order a side of that tahini.. thank me later). The chicken had a great crust on it and came in a large portion. This was a memorable meal from a humble spot. Definitely put Yucca Kabob on your radar, and go out of your way if you have to to get a top-notch meal!

The food is 5 stars! This was the highlight of our trip! If you judge the place by the exterior, you might just drive past, but that would be a mistake. Every single morsel that entered my mouth was amazing! You cannot go wrong with whatever you order.Some things that could use some work: the interior is a bit drab and windows are full of smudges. Honestly, I would never eat inside again simply due to the poor service and high fees! Service was mediocre too poor and just not friendly at all. The server and establishment seem to feel entitled to generous tips. The food was worth the price, but service was not, yet the lowest option they give you is a 20% tip. It actually says 18%, which the guy did not deserve, but it comes out closer to 20% because it is calculated AFTER tax and fees! I am not cheap. I love to leave generous tips, but the service and ambiance does not dictate a 20% tip here. I suggest you bring cash to avoid fees and passive tip entitlement.

Ok, I’m gonna be honest. There is no buttered chicken shawarma and the chicken shawarma they have here is nothing like the chicken shawarma in Lebanon. The customer service here is fairly neat, I just notice that all the chefs are white people. None of them exhibited traits of my people. I tried speaking to them in Lebanese Arabic, none of them replied and seemed very confused by my speech. I’m seeing my people’s food, but I’m not seeing my people. The experience was well, but I am greatly disturbed and disappointed with the chicken shawarma. I suggest adding buttered chicken shawarma on the menu, due to the fact that the recipe includes buttered chicken. I will come back if you guys put buttered chicken shawarma on the menu. My people that live in Yucca Valley will be very pleased and satisfied with Yucca Kabob.

Fantastic food! My only minor complaint was that the grape leave appetizer we chose was very, very cold, almost to the point of being mildly frozen. I believe that they were prepped and frozen and then not taken out early enough to thaw in time for service, no biggie. They made amazing leftovers the next day. Our kids split the Chicken Kebab plate and my husband and myself split the Main Plate and we still had leftovers of everything. I would definitely eat here again the next time we’re in the area.

My friends and I tried Yucca Kabob for the first time on April 17, 2021. Indoor dining was open and not crowded. Best of all the food and service here were great! I was pleased a Vegetarian Plate was available on the menu. I would definitely return here again in the future. Thanks, Yucca Kabob!

Love listening to the middle eastern music while eating and having a glass of wine. The vegetarian dish is my fave. Great hummus and grape leaf rice and felafel. Their salad is the best Ive tasted, so simple and not overpowering with their house vinaigrette. This is a family place and oh so friendly. Out back is one of the nicest areas for eating Ive seen, awesome now that its getting cooler.

We drive here from Desert Hot Springs. We use to drive to a Middle Eastern restaurant in Redlands, but after finding this place...we are addicted. Every time my husband and i want to treat ourselves to something great, we come here. We love it. Its really a gem. The food is amazing. People are really nice. I hope they stay here forever.

One of the best places to eat in JTree. Fresh, delicious food prepared authentically. This family-operated restaurant is a pleasure to visit after being in the park all day. They have a modest selection of beer, which washes down the heat of the desert along with the wonderful kabob.

I wish I could give it more stars however I just cant. The service was unbelievably slow we had to get up and call our waiter to the table multiple times as he was sitting behind the computer screen rather than looking at the tables. The food was okay but not really what I expected. The Euro Plate which normally a euro to me means a sandwich type plate was actually meat placed on rice with a little bit of hummus and I salad that had very little dressing if any at all. I cant really recommend this place so I suggest going to the next location.

Absolutely loved this place! food was excellent, the lemon mint smoothie is pretty darn refreshing. I had a fatoush salad with chicken on top - so healthy and filling. also had various mezze dishes, babaghanoush, hummus, kebbe, all top quality tbh. will definitely eat here again!

I headed here after reading good reviews, but I was not impressed. I wanted to order the kebeh as an appetizer but they had run out. I got the beef kofta plate and the beef tasted real strange (not good). This is usually my favorite dish at Mediterranean restaurants but I would definitely not order this one again. Maybe I ordered wrong?

Great food! Huge portions and delicious. We waited about 45mins to an hour for the food but worth it. No hookah right now because of the rona which bummed us out. Try the smoothies
