The food is very delicious. We came in at 11 so the actual food service was a little slower than expected but all of it was delicious. Additionally, we took our dogs and they received wonderful dog treats from the owner. We had a great time and enjoyed our time in Ojai.

I got the Topa Topa loaded fries… there were supposed to be a lot of things on them but other than a few thin slices of avocado and a bit of grizzly meat, and NO flavor, there was a lot to be left desired…. $12 for fries is a bit much, too. I won’t be returning.Also, if you’re looking for a good burger with an egg on it, etc. etc., I would recommend OBC 💯

Stopped here to grab dessert and it did not disappoint. I got the strawberry Nutella crepe and my sister the ube mochi waffle. Im usually hesitant with mochi waffles, because they almost never actually have a bouncy mochi texture, but this one did and I’m almost annoyed that it was so good because I live a solid hour away. Next time I think I’d like to try some of the savory items

I can say it’s the best rice burger in California!!!! The beef is really juicy and soft. I also like the sauce on inside the burger. Also, the fries are fresh and flavorful! Recommend garlic and pepper one. It is gorgeous!

Absolutely LOVE Yume Burger! Our group of three tried three different ones plus red garlic fries, and they were all delicious! Great selection of drinks too, alcoholic and non alcoholic, including boba. The owner is also so welcoming and kind! Will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu!

Returned again with my friends! 10/2/22They loved the waffle offerings and ice-cream! Revised 6-28-22 Had the spicy chicken waffle with maple syrup OMG... Super Good... Puts my old Inglewood & LBC Waffle House to shame! The best!Got one of the bowls. Really good... 3rd review... had the shrimp burger menu choice! DAMN! Really wonderful blend of flavor. Im serious completely surprising. I dont like mayonnaise but I opted to allow it this time. It would have been a fail to omit it. Washington d.c. inflation has affected every place including here the price is fair considering how stupid our leaders are. Its all about the economy and the money.

I love how cute and artsy this place is. they have a nice back patio with shade and plenty of seating, a nice little indoors dining too. We are obsessed with their miso/spicy fries. their croquettes were good too. they have refreshing japanese beverages and self serve water and utensils. the staff is incredibly nice and attentive and the owner occasionally comes out and checks in with guests so I felt he valued us as customers and wanted to make sure we were having a pleasant experience. also, there to go stuff, straws etc is eco friendly which i love☺️

Great service and really good food! We tried the classic wagyu burger and the Topa Topa karaage chicken sandwich. Both were really tasty. They have a nice patio in the back with heaters. Owners were really welcoming and enjoy interacting with their customers, handing out dog treats to customers who bring their dogs. Highly recommend a visit!

Stopped here on a whim while visiting Ojai and have found my lunch spot for future visits! I had the Carbonara Wagyu Burger (not even on their regular menu) and my wife had the Topa Topa Wagyu Burger and both were excellent. The meat was flavorful, had great texture, and was cooked to perfection. The toppings were excellent and plentiful and the serving size was just right (not too big like so many burger places lately). On top of the great food, the staff were great to deal with and very attentive. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

For such a high review stars I was disappointed. But Im giving 4 stars because the staffs are extremely welcoming and helpful.1. Pictures dont match actual dishes. There is no price and description on the front door menu so I asked whats in the shake - answer was Oreo flake, pocky stick and mochi waffle. And boba can be added. So I ordered a matcha shake adding boba. But when my drink came there was only boba not the toppings. Waitress told me those are not included which contradict from the answer I heard earlier so Im very confused, maybe I misunderstood it but they promptly took the drink to added these in upon my request so I really appreciated that.The burger my partner ordered showed fried onions in it, but the burger came with sautéed onions, which was very disappointing to him and made the bun wet as well. The taste is good though.2. Some of the boba in my drink were still frozen - which is a big no-no for me. If youre selling boba drink you better make sure all the bobas are cooked through.3. Chicken karaage was kind of wet/oily, not the traditional crispy type to which Im very disappointed. Some people may like it? But really not what I was expecting.Overall it is still a fine place to get some snacks if youre craving for some comfort food. I did enjoy my shrimp tempura burger. Just need to set the expectation right and remember its pricey.

So good!!! I got their BBQ wagyu fries and they tasted very good. You can really taste the high quality of the meat and other ingredients. The owner and staff were very friendly. The place is kind of small but it’s a good place to grab and go. Overall great place, I really wish I had a place like this LA. I’ll be sure to eat here again if I visit Ojai 😃

Yume was a great find. We ordered the Topa Topa wagu and chicken burgers as well as the dumpling plate and garlic fries. We were beyond pleased. Our food was delivered quickly to our table. We did bring one small issue to the attention of the owner and he was so gracious and apologetic. So pleasant was our experience we went back the next day to try some new menu items. You won’t be disappointed by the food or service.

Saturday Lunch: Wagyu Rice Bun was the best version weve had to date - Can be enjoyed sandwich style or with utensils. tasty sauce that complimented the quality of beef rather than distract. the rice bun was soft and held its form. The karagge chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful with the right amounts of sauces and mayo, served on a buttery toasted bun. a variety of japanese canned beverages supplement a menu of bubble teas, shakes, and coffees. The Ube Shake was excellent. Topped with an Oreo crumble, Pocky, and a mochi waffle wedge - the Shake was thick and full of ube flavor. Service was super friendly and attentive - very nice to meet and speak with the owner. from NYC to LA weve tried several rice bun burgers and this by far has been the best. Would gladly visit again - Highly recommend!

Great lunch spot with options you can’t get elsewhere. The wagyu burger was good but the specialty fries are where it’s at. Order the house-made hot sauce for an extra kick. Great selection of Japanese beverages as well - I got a lychee ramune soda which restaurants don’t always carry. We will be back.

On a recent, late morning, stroll we came across this unexpected restaurant. Checked out the menu and decided to try it out. I am vegan and had the croquettes, cold tofu and fries. My son got the topa burger and spicy miso fries. All delicious and don remarked that the fries were the best he’s ever had. We will be back.

Yume’s wagyu beef burger patties are prepared with their own sauce and very tender. Rice burger is a great gluten-free choice. Cold tofu with soy garlic is my favorite. Japanese croquettes are also excellent! Staff is very friendly and cheerful. Yume is creating new items on the menu. We would love to try them when we return to Ojai.

It’s okay. The food lacks flavor. The boba was good, but they messed up my order even after confirming I got grilled chicken, I received fried chicken in my bowl. Weve wanted to try this place for a while and today the opportunity presented itself. Theres a lot of hype around the beef which were sure is delicious but today we both got the grilled chicken sandwich. If youre someone like me who prefers less fat, I asked if I could substitute chicken breast for the thigh, but the restaurant does not have chicken breasts at all. I decided to try it anyway. The sandwich is a juicy chicken thigh cooked perfectly and served on a buttered toasted brioche bun, with cabbage underneath and topped with avocado and a delicious sauce. Easily the best burger in Ojai. Yum! Also the service was excellent and the outdoor seating was charming and cozy.

Fantastic burgers. Owner came over to our table and chatted with us for a bit. He let us know that the Dijon parmesan dipping sauce was something he created 2 weeks ago and it paired perfectly with the garlic truffle fries. Must try if youre in the mood for some Asian Fusion or wagyu burgers in general.

My first time here and it is a great spot, but for the quality of meat they serve they use too much sauce in NY opinion and the brioche bun is a nice touch but its a bit overwhelming with a burger specialy when you order a double 🤣. With that said the burgers are amazing and messy, the staff is very professional and helpful. They have a good selection of sake and beers. They also have other bun options such as rice buns, I have yet to try then but its definitely worth coming back here to try other options!

First off, the food is really good. The beef is tender and juicy, and with a Japanese twist. Even the non burger options are well above the standard. A newbie to Ojai restaurants they have a uniquely Japanese burger/fries/boba menu and it is oh so yummy...truly!The owner is a total gem and both times Ive met him he has been genuinely kind and detail oriented on my order. Hes also willing to explain things on the menu you may not be familiar with.Their fries are fantastic, not too greasy and very crispy. Absolutely incredible. The service was great and the food was unique and excellent. The premises were clean and confortable, too. Dessert was a surprising highlight, as the mochi pancakes were super tasty. They have a solid sake menu and Japanese beer on draft. Ill definitely be back, and this is my new favorite place in Ojai. Definitely make a stop if youre in town. Or even make the journey from afar, as theyre worth it.

Visited Yume today for the first time and was so impressed. Super friendly staff, tons of options on the menu, and great back outdoor patio space. I had the ojai waygu burger and it was fantastic. Juicy and packed with so much umami flavor, plus went perfectly with a draft Sapporo. Also really enjoyed the spicy red garlic shake shake fries. Need to go back and try more things, especially the yaki soba and karaage chicken. Absolutely recommend this place for something different in the 805, it was fantastic.

We went here for lunch our first day in Ojai, mostly because of curiosity (what is the Japanese take on a burger?) and good reviews. The burger was quite good but the Karaage Miso Loaded Fries were so phenomenal we couldnt bring ourselves to try the burger before those were gone. Didnt really have a good experience here...we came over with the family on a week day to the park across the road and saw this place on the way so while everyone was playing i decided to give it a shot and go grab us some food...right off the bat the staff was nice and welcoming but that was pretty much it...food for the 4 of us was about 85$ 😰 and thats just for 3 sandwiches, an appetizer(chicken nuggets), 2 fries and a drink...while waiting on the food (which took over 30 minutes) they gave me the frozen tea about 20 min before the food was ready (without asking) which wasnt for me so it ended up just melting in the heat and I had to ask for a replacement that took them another 15 minutes to make while my food that already took forever was getting cold 😤 after 45 minutes of waiting when we finally got to eat,I thought the food would at least redeem the wait but unfortunately that wasnt the case...shrimp tampura was practically tasteless and the Burger was nothing to write home about...the waffle shaped rice buns are a good idea but just break apart when you try to pick them up. I only liked the chicken, the seasoning was decent but again, nothing to write home about...overall I dont think the food justified the price or the extremely long wait but thats just me...staff niceness:10/10 food quality:10/10food taste:5/10 Speed:2/10 price:$$$

My boyfriend and I were really excited to try out Yume, we had ordered just their green tea matcha latte and thought it was delicious so we came back to try their burgers. 3 stars for how friendly their staff is, but we waited over 55 minutes for our food. Turned out it was ready long before sitting in a take out bag near the entrance. We had ordered a beer and were sat at the outdoor patio and we had no idea they had put our order in a to to-go bag (especially since we said we’d be dining in). All of our food was cold and soggy (tempura) and we were really disappointed. Wish they would have notified us that our food was ready for such a long time. I’d be more understanding if they were busy, but there was just one other party there. Maybe we’ll give it a shot again in the future when they’re more established as a restaurant.

Wow! Yume is YUMMY! Our new favorite place. We love the Japanese flavors. The wagyu burger is savory, just delicious. The beef patty is generous (plus healthy!) and the sauce was super-tasty. I think I like it better than the traditional American burger! We also had the Karaage (chicken) Miso Loaded fries. The chicken, so tender and flavorful. We are going back tonight 😀. We were wandering the strip looking for the right spot and stumbled on this little gem! This is a MUST STOP - EVERY time you are in Ojai.The vegetable Japanese croquettes, wagyu and tempura rice burgers were delicious! We had the mocha waffle and matcha bubble ice teas which were really tasty too. It seems to be run by a Japanese family. All of them are so sweet, warm and accommodating. Such a good experience. Go there!

Yumes marinated burgers (from a special japanese breed of cow) are super tasty, and well worth the price. Their ube shakes (made from sweet purple yams) are delicious. My wife had a tempora burger, and my grandson a BBQ rice burger. We were ALL happy campers . The owner was pleasant and efficient. We shall return!

We stopped by here after a hike and lunch. We actually already ate lunch at another spot by the time we came across Yume but everything looked so good that we decided to go in for some boba. After taking one look at the menu we decided to have a second lunch! we had the rice burger with wagyu and it was so good. The way the burger was charred was perfect. We also had the tiger milk boba and the ube milk boba. We drink boba multiple times a week so we have pretty high standards when it comes to boba and this stuff was good!! Highly recommend and we will be back!

As a big proponent of japanese foods and western fusions of eastern classics, this feels like yet another step towards the combination of two cultures contributing their best qualities to make an incredibly satisfying meal. The rice wagyu burger really does feel like the best of both worlds, both sweet and savory in sauces, a crunchy rice patty yet incredibly tender and succulent wagyu, fluffy ricey clouds sandwich a burger thats full of flavor. Finding a meal that offers bubble teas and french fries that dont upset the delicate balance of cheat meals and space/time is a tall order, but as with the burger, the contrast against the traditional, the flavors and textures truly do wonders to the pallette and undeniably hit a nerve of childlike splendor. The milk teas come in different options and the variants are based on sugar content, a much needed opportunity to make up for the decedance found elsewhere in the meal. All in all, the staff and owner were wonderfully kind and clearly focused on bringing the best food to the table. A must recommend for people looking to challenge whats traditionally considered a great burger or for those curious enough to find out whats truly out there, waiting to blow our minds.
