This place was my favorite Sichuan restaurant, I was upset when it closed. I am glad some of the dishes can be still found here. Not a lot of Yunnan style dishes, the noodles we tried and the lamb were superb. Will definitely come back.
As a Yunnan native, I was missing hometown food and came back to just find out that the recipes have completed changed. The rice noodles are completely Sichuan (which is not where the crossing bridge rice noodles are from) and VERY far from the authentic Yunnan flavor. I mean they taste good but just have nothing to do with Yunnan Cuisine flavors. Our cuisine focuses a lot on flavors from natural ingredients e.g. herbs, wild fungus, flowers, to create a spicy and citrusy flavor profile. We are also known for really good goat cheese and ham. Anyways, their rice noodles taste like home! The texture of the rice noodles just tastes RIGHT. For the soup, every restaurant back in hometown has their own recipe so the taste varies. I love the flavor of the soup. Wish they can serve more Yunnan dishes but some ingredients can be very hard to find.
Don’t underestimate the dine-in. It’s not a pretty setup. But the dishes come out hot, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. Prices are very reasonable, considering what dishes cost these days. We get the Sichuan water boiled fish and it’s a huge generous platter with way more than enough fish, Napa cabbage and sprouts to eat in one sitting. They have a very efficient dine-in where you order from an app/website. Highly recommended!

Highly highly recommended! The noodles are so delicious, perfect texture, with lots of toppings included. The portions are huge. The broth is awesome. Im really glad to see a great new restaurant in the area with a unique specialty that is hard to find! I also really enjoyed the steamed chicken in chili oil. Definitely ordering again soon.

Their rice noodle soups are very authentic. The soup base is delicious and the noodle is smooth and has a good texture. The interior is minimal style without a lot of decorations. If you just want to enjoy a good bowl of soup with rice noodle, this place can satisfy you.
I just moved to the neighborhood and think I finally found my favorite Chinese restaurant! So authentic and delicious. Growing up in China and living in the US, I never liked most Chinese restaurants here—the flavor of the dishes were never right. Not this place!!! Rice noodles were DELICIOUS and taste just like what you’d find in China. Tried their wonton soup also and it was so good and reminded me of childhood meals my mom would cook 😭 definitely try this place!!!
The worst Yunnan rice noodle. I can not be called Yunnan rice noodle. If you want to try rice noodle only, I may give a 2 stars honestly. As a Yunnan style rice noodle, the most important part should be the chicken soup. But the one I had doesnt be tasted as chicken soup at all. The sides are also not Yunnan style. It doesnt have crispy pork slice, it doesnt have chicken leg meat. Again it cant be called Yunnan style rice noodle!
The food is very authentic and good Yunnan food, quickly served. 5 stars. Alas they do a poor job at keeping their restaurant clean (greasy tables cleaned only with a damp cloth and at best trace amounts of soap). That and the fact that someone — presumably an employee — mustve smoked a cigarette somewhere inside the building (restroom? kitchen?) during our stay, presumably due to the heavy rain outside, made our stay less enjoyable than it couldve been. Overall 3 stars.
Amazing soup! I mean, amazing. Not a date spot for sure but they know what they are doing in the kitchen. And yeah, it wasn’t the cleanest but reminded me of “normal” old days before all hell broke loose in 2020.

AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD.New restaurant opened so I decided to give it a try. Also Yunnan Rice Noodle isnt easy to find in this area. Flavor resembles the food in China very much, and they give a LOT of meat in the soup, too. Great deal, I hope the owners keep the delicious flavor up! Will certainly come back often.A new restaurant opened near my home and I wanted to try it. There are too many Chinese foods for Americans to eat here, so I didn’t have high hopes. Ordered rice noodles with tomato beef brisket and double pepper fat beef, it tastes really good! It is similar to what we eat in China. There is a lot of beef in the soup. One portion can be eaten by one person. It is very affordable. Foreigners at home also like to eat it. Will definitely come back often!
The rice noodles are super fresh, and the grilled fish is great!
I ordered a mushroom soup pot to go and it turned out to be leftover soup pot at home. I ordered husband and wife lung slices once when I got home and found that they were not available. There was also a takeout to go. Two portions of rice noodles and one portion of grilled fish made us wait in the store for more than an hour. The service deserves zero stars and I won’t go there again!

2023-05-13 22:40:42It took me a year before I could try this place, but Im sure glad I did. Probably one of the more authentic tasting Chinese restaurants in the area. Save yourself a trip to Berkeley and just come to Yunnan Style. Also hits the spot if you like Vietnamese food like pho and bun.

The noodle soup only cost 💲 13.99 but offers high quality soup, tender beef or fish stew, and vegetables. I have tried tomato beef soup, spicy beef soup, mushroom soup, and they were all extremely delicious. Very good value! Highly recommended. I also love their dishes other than noodle soup. Many things are tasty such as lotus slides

2023-07-23 00:27:28Unfortunately, the broth and ingredients tastes not fresh and artificial. We came after seeing social media sharing, left definitely disappointed. I would highly suggest the owner to improve the sanity of the restaurant and its bathroom. It gives a greasy environment.

I can’t find any chicken bones or meat in it, way too artificial, nothing like authentic.Update: I dined in again a few days ago and ordered the same thing. The soup base of the crossing bridge rice noodle tastes very strange and fake. It CANNOT be made from genuine chicken. The soup is just too fake. Of course they will never admit. I would avoid this place in the future. Very likely they are using soup concentrate to maximise the profit, don’t waste your money here if you want hearty food.
