Came to Fontana the second time this month and decided since I visited a Mediterranean place, I had to check out the competition. I personally thought Zaky’s was better. There were slight differences, the hummus was ok the meat, rice and grilled veggies good. It was clean, cold and comfortable inside. The customer service was more than happy to answer all my questions.

I have rated customer service 2 stars only because I liked the new guy who was very nervous and the more experienced worker who tried to help the new guy out. The two ladies who worked with the food were very rude to both the new guy and my husband and I. They were not pleasant at all,didnt try to explain the menu( as we were new to this place) they could clearly see we didnt know what to order and wanted suggestions on whats good. We also apologized and mentioned we were first time customers there and the lady just looked at us and walked away leaving everything up to the new guy who was totally confused. As soon as I got home my husband and I checked the reviews on this place and saw ..yup ! Its not just us. The food wasnt even worth the money we spent. Atleast if they change their attitude towards the customers they might have more customers. We definitely wont be back!

Well, we know this is a chain restaurant now. The service is good. My recommendation is to order ahead. The food can take some time to prepare since its grilled when you order it. But it is good and fresh. It is a bit pricey in my opinion. About $20 a person for the platter. But its good for a quick Mediterranean fix. Parking can become a hassle. But its good.

We went to have dinner Friday because my husband was craving Greek food the minute we walked in we felt this negativity in the restaurant it was dirty. The tables were dirty. The floor was dirty. When we started ordering the food we noticed the attitude from the ladies that work there. Specially the older lady I think she’s a cook or cashier. She has the most unfriendly personality that I literally ft like leaving but my husband really wanted to eat there. The service was horrible. I asked her questions because my husband has to eat a certain way so I was asking her very nice what kind of oil and salt they used they were both very rude and then we got our drink from the fountain machine and my husband drank from it and we didn’t notice at the end of the cup. There was some kind of dead bugs or something. It was disgusting and when I told the lady she gave me attitude, I can tell they’re so unhappy working there. Whoever the owner is I recommend they change staff maybe you can get more customers if you have better people working there I am for sure not going back there.

This is 2nd time I try it here at Fontana. Thought I would give it a another try. This spot is not at all like the Ontario spot. Rice is a bit different, they dont have feta cheese and they dont put any dressing on the salad like the Ontario one. Otherwise everything is still good but if I am craving this again I will just go to Ontario.

My husband tried to get lunch with our service dog and was rudely turned away by the manager saying “no dogs”. She didn’t even listen to him as he tried to let her know that he is a service animal. He wasn’t dining in, just ordering for takeout. You can, in fact, be sued for this.The rice is bland and the food is mediocre at best. I’ve never once had a good experience here, my husband wanted to try it for himself and didn’t even get the chance. But, to each their own I guess.“Establishments that sell or prepare food must generally allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises.Not sure what the reply has to do with my concern.

I love mediterranean food, and this place did not hit the mark. I was disappointed because I was craving mediterranean. The food had no flavor, the beef was chewy, and they had whole chickens sitting in the hot box, and I couldnt help but wonder how long theyve been in there and can only imagine how dry they probably were. People who dont know real mediterranean food will enjoy it, but its not for me.

BEWARE!! FOOD POISONING!!I ordered via DoorDash today and starting getting violent diarrhea an hour after eating their chicken schwarma.This was the only thing I ate today. I haven’t had food poisoning in over a decade and today I finally got it.This is very problematic and it seems as if the restaurant has gotten other poor recent reviews about unsanitary conditions and unsafe storage of food. I hope they see these reviews because I wouldn’t wish food poisoning on anyone.

Not bad and not great. Great concept. Most side options were sauces. Definitely not a good option if your indecisive or like to take your time. They seem to rush you or appear annoyed however, I do believe it was just a culture difference. My meat was a bit overcooked.

Food is okay, it doesn’t taste good when you can’t really enjoy it. Whomever owns/runs this restaurant controls their staff to the point they can’t even give an extra empty bowl away to one customer. The staff here is miserable and shows the way they treat their customers. They were giving my dad a hard time for trying to go wash his hands in the restroom. I do not recommended this restaurant to anyone.

This people sell you what they want. Asked specifically for a bowl, charged me for the combo, as if these people trying to rip people off, must be a cultural thing. I wonder if this is the reason the place was empty at lunch hour? Plus they need to work on their customer interaction skills. I definitely did not get value for my money. I entered and asked to use restroom. The employee said bathrooms are for customers only. There was no notice regarding restrooms for customers only. Then I tell guy. I will buy something on way out. He let me use restroom. owners: Post on premises a notice regarding restroom usage. Im not a homeless person. I could of walked out and not buy anything. It cost me $6.45 to use restroom. NEVER GO BACK. Makes me wonder this type of management.

Really good food. A touch too much salt in the fire feta but otherwise the lamb kabob and beef and lamb shawarma perfect. The baklava is perfect and the rice with Zaky cause was a really good pairing with the meat.

I actually like this place, just read some reviews about rude employees, I think its a cultural difference. I come here to pick up dinner every other week and have enjoyed it so far. I love that they have salad as a base, and portions are pretty good usually. Hummus is a bit blend, but garlic dipping sauce is everything! Oh and the baklava is really good!

We had a late lunch meal there. The young employees and the older employees were very loud. The older employees were very rude and loud towards the younger employees. The food was pretty salty and very expensive with very small portions. The lamb kabob was burnt and didnt taste good. The fountain drinks were very expensive. We paid extra for extra lamb kabobs and it seemed like they were counting them as they put it in our plate. I will never go there again.

First time and last time here. My complaint is the customer service. I guess the guy helping me was new and put too much chicken on my plate. The guy taking the order was actually very helpful explaining what you can choose for your sides and base. When he gave my order to the lady working the register she actually counted the pieces of chicken and told him you only give six pieces for the one protein plate combo. I get it, you have a business and need to make sure people know the proper portion to serve, but the perception you give to your customer when you count the pieces and then remove the extra two pieces before charging them is just not a good look. Also, they provide one very small portion of sauce. If you would like an additional small portion of sauce it will be .99 cents. You have been forewarned!

Delicious food, long wait; both are reliable.The staff execute fantastic flavors, but are in no hurry to take orders, gather catering pickups, or serve the next customers in line.Plan for a 20-minute wait for takeout.Calling ahead is also a challenge, silver they don’t have call-waiting.If they figure out the business side, we’ll eat here more often. Zakys lets you create your own meal, which was the perfect option for a beginner to Mediterranean food. It was plenty too. I am very full and even had enough to bring some home. She was extremely aggressive with me I asked for the owners name she refused to give me any information and said she didnt care if I called the owner. This place is the worst place I’ve ever eaten at. I came with my family to eat here for the first time and the lady who worked there was very rude. She was arguing with me and the young girl who was taking the orders was coughing near the humus and the other foods that are displayed in the front where you choose and didn’t have a mask on which is disgusting because we’re in a pandemic and she doesn’t even cover her mouth much when she coughed. They charged me more than advertised, when I asked why they said they charge 3% if you pay with card. My wife and I were at the Juice It Up next door to this place and on our way out we decided to give it a try. The food was really good. I get it near closing time you want to go home but if you dont want to serve at 8:30 perhaps speak to your corporate office about changing your closing time not sure how that will go but that customer service was unacceptable. The food here is pretty good as far as I can tell. We only sampled a few things. We really went there for the hummus. The customer service couldve been a little better though. I usually go to another Zaky in Alta Loma, this one is much closer, but I will not be coming back! The employee was rude when asked to have my salad separated so the cucumber salad didn’t soak my salad for me to send with my husband to work later. I even said I’d pay a little extra for the small separate container. I also got the salad as a base and only for 1 small dressing. I ran back in to ask for more, she said it was in the bag, I said I know but I got 2 salads and 1 little dressing. The worker was hesitant and annoyed, but poured me 1 more small dressing. I should’t have to beg or explain my justification for more when paying almost $20 for 1 food plate. The food is good and pricy, but don’t mind paying for good food as long as quality service comes with it.

I love their wraps! The servers are always nice. The only bad experience that Ive ever had in this place was with another customer. She was rude, self-entitled, then got mad at me because a third server had to come out to take my order, because she was taking a long time and wanted all of the servers to only help her. One of the dryest, most bland meals Ive ever had.We ordered a plate with Beef and Lamb Schwarma. The meat is precooked and kept in individual soup containers, then re-cooked over the stove. I cannot tell the difference between the Lamb and the Beef because its so dry.Everything else seems like it was canned or frozen at some point in time... or both. Their pickled vegetables look like they were made from the Frozen Vegtable Medley from Walmart.Customet service needs work as well. The worker got a portion of my order wrong and I kept having to repeat myself. She also took 15 minutes to pack our order... which was just one plate.I also asked for beets as one of my toppings and I recieved 2 small slivers...The interior is sticky and the atmosphere is jarring. The food was great, the delivery was amazing. The instructions on my order were not followed, this led my order to being incorrect. I called the restaurant directly, the girl that answered the phone wanted me to drive there and they would correct my order, i explained i just got out of the hospital and can not drive which is why i ordered for delivery and she said they could do nothing. I asked if i could speak to the manager and she said She was the manager of the cash i asked for the owner and she replied there was nothing they could do and hung up. This was not right. First time visiting last night and the food was delicious!! I had the felafel plate with rice base and grilled veggies, and for my sides i chose the quinoa salad, stuffed grape leaves, and the cucumber yogurt salad, plus the fresh pita bread that each plate comes with. The ordering experience was a little confusing. When ordering a wrap, it was unclear what came with a combo and what didn’t. Moreover, it says we can customize our wraps but didn’t get to choose any toppings or sauce, only the side (which didn’t have fries as an option, although clearly pictured in the wrap combo).However, my complains end at the ordering. The prepper was patient with me and kind. The food, additionally, was great. The hummus was creamy, well textured, and flavorful. The order was not cancelled by a driver but by the RESTAURANT themselves because “they were too busy”. A terrible establishment with very, very poor ownership and management. I got the falafel and it was mushy, it was bland and honestly tasted bad (I’ve never had falafel I didn’t like, but now I know bad falafel is a real thing lol). The hummus was bland, the garlic sauce was also bland, if I had to describe this place with one word it’s bland lol On a good note, the grape leaves were definitely good. Both my college kids are throwing up with food poisoning from the chicken plates that we purchased from Zaky yesterday. They are in so much pain!When we got there, the floor in front if the display near the middle and to the right of the register was wet. After we ordered, we found out that there was a leak in the hot water that heats up the food waiting to be served. One large pan was removed so you could see the cloudy water. The man squigied and mopped the floor before going behind the counter to serve the next guests.Both my young adults are retching with pain, hot and cold chills, shaking and severe pain in their stomachs.Owners...when there is any possibility that the food is not held at the right safe temp or that it is tainted... dont sell it!

I witnessed the owner treat a young black man very unfairly last night. He made a sandwich for a customer before the young man with care and attention. When the young black man asked for the same sandwich the owner threw it together any kind of way. After he questioned him why there was a difference in how he made it,the customer he was serving first started cussing and saying all types of racist derogatory things and tried to fight him. It was clearly the owners friend and he did nothing to deescalate the situation it was very sad and disturbing to see both men discriminate against the man for no other reason than the color of his skin. You know you’re in an authentic Shawarma place when you order your wrap and they’re slicing your choice of meat straight from the rotating spit (similar to Tacos al Pastor) just like you would at any local Shawarma place in Istanbul, Bucharest, London, etc. This is more like a subway rather than a true a shawarmeria. Oh well, food was ok.
