The service we received tonight 10/15/23 was excellent. We ordered our food and received it within 20 minutes. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The food is amazing. We got Birria Burritos both wet and dry with bean and rice with sauces and guacamole. The burritos are huge!! Very very good. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend

I went here as it had the most & best reviews in the area for Mexican food. I was disappointed with my bland birria tacos and the beef taco combo plate. I’m used to flavorful rice, beans and meat on my tacos all I got was very bland food that needed as much salsa as possible. Good thing I paid $4 extra for salsa or I would have been even more disappointed. The birria taco shells were not cooked in the consommé leading them to be rather plain as well, you have to pay extra for the side of consommé which seemed odd, I’ve never not had birria with the sauce to enjoy. Overall the place is fine if you’re in a rush but I wouldn’t recommend any of the dishes I was served.

Good mexican food here I tried a couple of their alpastor tacos and I was satisfied the seasoning was good the tortilla was tasty and their sauce was good all around good food here when I entered people started to pile in but the service was fast the employee there dont keep you waiting and let you know when your food is coming coming up. It was my first time here it was suggested by some of the locals so I had to try the food and I am not disappointed. The michelada had alot of lemon juice just the way I like it this was my first time but it will not be my last.

Fast and the food was Great! They do get a little busy and I suggest ordering by phone for pickup because ordering at the counter may take 10 to 15 mins before your food is ready. Just wished they were open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Probably ordered a bit too much but everything was so good. The quesadillas were probably my favourite thing but all in all the portions were huge and the food was delicious. Service was pretty quick and friendly and there were plenty of seats. Definitely plan to go back next time Im in the area.

The only place to get your breakfast burrito fix in Desert Hot Springs.I had the Chorizo, Huevo y Papa (Mexican Sausage, Egg, Potato, Beans & Cheese).The size was substantial which makes it perfect for brunch.The balance of ingredients was about right and the Chorizo had a little bit of crunch which was most welcome.I was also impressed by the staff and the cleanliness of the Zapopan it was a nice easy experience.While I waited for the order I picked up a coffee at Starbucks right next door.UPDATE:Today I tried the Chicken Burrito. I called ahead to make sure the chicken was grilled not shredded. The pieces of chicken were very small and I didnt get the grilled flavor I was expecting.The burrito was still nice but I was really hoping for pieces of yummy grilled chicken I could bite on.I took one star off because of this.

Zapopans always has great customer service. Visited tonight and ordered a side of rice with my meal but was told they were out. I was bummed because I LOVE their rice but the owner/manager had them make some anyways.They allowed us to sit and eat after closing, which was nice as well.One of the best Mexican restaurants in town. This place is always busy at meal times, which is a good thing because the food is freshly made. Order at the counter, take a seat, they call your name when your food is ready. HOT! weve tried the tacos, enchiladas (both great) and the Chile relleno burrito, not great. It had a thick egg batter and not a lot of relleno going on inside. Just not to our taste, but you may like them prepared that way.

Very disappointing, we are new to the area and our neighbor highly recommended. We ordered to go in the restaurant. Horrible service for us, long wait for non-regulars. Staff and manager seemed busy talking to regular customers. Our order appeared to be forgotten or stopped in the middle of preparation. The cheese enchilada was cold, cheese was a solid slab, with lukewarm sauce., zero flavor. Chili Verde was overflowing out of the too small container it was placed.The pork pastor taco was cold, the asada taco was at the right temperature. Flan was okay. The utensils provided were 2 spoons.

Its the only place that I strongly recommend to anyone asking where the good spots are in Desert Hot Springs. Ive worked in many restaurants and Ive been to many as well, Ill tell you that this is one of the CLEANEST, FRESHEST, GREAT FOOD, BEST SERVICE establishments that Ive ever visited. I am a stickler for consistency and time and theyve always provided exactly what I have expected! I gave this place two stars instead of one because my husband liked his soft taco. I ordered a chicken and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. There was so much “enchilada” sauce...swimming in it. I used quotes because it tasted nothing like enchilada sauce. The beans and rice had no flavor at all. The cheese was not the smooth melted kind. Stood in line with a person in front of me and the next register opened up and one of the ladies decided to serve the person behind me instead of me oh and have I mentioned that I placed my order ahead of time? The best wet burritos ( with the red sauce ). They have a unique seasoning that very subtle and unlike any Mexican restaurant in the desert. Ordered chicken enchiladas for lunch. The perfectly moist enchiladas came with beans and rice. Very basic and tasty. Everything is a la carte so you must pay for chips separately. Salsa is free at the salsa bar. Its cafeteria-style. You find a table, and wait for your order to be called ready. I enjoyed the lack of pretense and the diverse neighborhood vibe. Zapopan is one of my favorite places to eat in Desert Hot Springs. The owner is committed to providing tasty dishes at reasonable prices and he always comes through. My favorites are the tacos dorados de carne de res deshebrada or their chiles rellenos. Be sure to add salsa verde to the tacos dorados, it makes them particularly good in my opinion.

The Za-PO-pan restaurant is very Guadalajara style (for those of you who dont know where Zapopan is or how to pronounce it). Everything is good. Im partial to anything pork with salsa verde, but whatever you order, you wont be disappointed...good food served quickly in a clean and friendly atmosphere. If you want a romantic dinner, get it to go and take it home. It is the best sure thing for the price.

Hands down my favorite fast food Mexican eatery, anywhere! My absolute favorite menu item is the Carne Asada nachos! Theyre so big and definitely filling! They have an amazing set burrito (my favorite is the red sauce). Their carnitas are beyond yummy, packed with so much flavor! Taquitos, enchiladas, rice and beans, free chips and salsa. Whatever youre craving, youll be satisfied at Zapopan. More than the food being amazing, the staff is great, so friendly and accommodating!

My wife and I like the combo taco dinners. And we usually get a couple of burritos for the next day. The quality has gone downe quit a bit since the covid. I still pick some up this time tacos but hard and crumbly now

Best tacos.. But my TRANSGENDER friend that was with me was stared at and looked at very hatefully as we ordered our food took 15 minutes and was cold and the lady the was working wouldnt say good bye OR ADIOS wont go back even though VOTED BEST AROUND their attitude sucks.. Discrimination
