My boyfriend and I went here to grab lunch for our anniversary, I’m vegan and he is not but we both enjoyed our meal! Lots of exciting and inclusive options for all palettes, diets, allergies, and preferences. High quality food, ingredients, and vibes. We also loved all the art, photos, and jewelry by local artists on display! 🌱

Not a vegan but often want it. The AVO toast is tops. Love it for breakfast. Been a lot and drive for it. You must ring the bell by register for them to come out. Food is fresh made - so allow time for it to be made. But worth the wait. Like most small mom and pop vegan joints like in Portland. As expensive AF but worth it for quality food your body is a temple.

It’s difficult sometimes to find delicious vegan restaurants while traveling, Zest did not disappoint! They are known for their “Loin Burger” (I believe that’s what it was called) and I can see why!! So yummy and filling, my toddler enjoyed her “nuggets” and fresh lemonade. If you are a local or a guest in the area, I highly recommend trying them out! You won’t regret it 😉 🌿🌱🥦🥗🥒🍏🥑

Walking into zesty kitchen was like a wonderland!. Positive employees and a vibey atmosphere😁 Tons of different snacks, drinks, deserts, and food they have a great variety. Me and my mom got together a chipotle tacos, avocado basil pesto bread with curry soup.

Three of us went. Two of us ordered the same thing and thought it was good, a pancake meal. I ordered sweet potato tacos and it was just awful. I can eat a meal that maybe I dont care for that much but this one I couldnt eat at all. The sweet potato in the tacos was hard not cooked it seemed like. As far as service... Once they bring the meal out to you you never see them again. You clean off your own table so Im not sure why they want someone to rate service. The good news is two of us will go there again I would not.

Total hidden gem cafe in an off-the-beaten-path strip mall. All-vegan menu, so I wish I couldve stayed all day and tried everything. But what we did try (Prana bowl, taco salad, and hot lattes with pumpkin seed milk) was so fresh and fabulous.

Tiger mountain burger was good. But the eggplant panini was better. Then, the cheesecake was the best. The young cashiers were friendly. Cash is queen here because you get 4 percent discount. The comments/suggestions box was nice, and I left a few sincere suggestions to be helpful. This place must be owned and managed by a special lady because no man is smart and caring enough to run it like this. Anyways, thank you ladies for all the healthy and yummy stuff here!

I never like leaving bad reviews but I had to with this place. It was my first time here and my last. Im from out of town and vegan myself. I ordered the egg scramble plate with pancakes. The scramble plate had a burnt taste to it. And Im not one to take things back or throw away food, so i ate it. But this plate was not good. Also, be aware that they ask for a tip in advance at check out, dont bring you utensils. The atmosphere wasnt welcoming either. The customers were friendlier than the staff.

Food ordered: Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie, Coconut Chai Smoothie, Sweet Potato Taco, Grilled Herb Cashew Cheese Sandwich, Salted Caramel BrownieThis place was extremely yummy and filling and almost the only place I can go to while doing a parasite cleanse. I made some exceptions with the coconut sugar and maple syrup today.I asked A LOT of questions about the ingredients, and the employees were more than happy to answer all of them.As someone whos been allergic to cane sugar for a decade...I appreciate that so much. Getting side-eyed by the people youre buying food from just makes it weird, so I was happy to feel safe and comfortable to ask what I wanted.It was getting late and they were closing up soon, but I had 2 more questions on ingredients: What is the GF sourdough made out of and what is the salted caramel brownie made of, especially the caramel?I took the brownie to go and Im eating it now...the caramel tastes WAY too good to not be cane sugar so Im curious what its made of.Zest Kitchen has a huge menu and Im excited to try Kitchari and some of their lattes next time. And their banana ice cream.They have so many unique nut milks that Ive never seen at another restaurant: pecan milk, cashew milk, pumpkin seed milk.

Basing this review off just my last experience which was today. I have typically been happy with this place and I moved away for a couple years. Now that I am back I was really excited to go to a favorite place of mine. This place is unique in what they offer and has so many healthy options.My 2 stars just came down to service which was not good at all. I had asked for a wrap with sauce on side and with zest burger added to it. After 15 minutes they came out and said it wasn’t ready but that they didn’t charge me enough because the new girl didn’t know.. I still paid an extra dollar but they said it was going to be $6 more so I said to forget the burger.. they brought my wrap 5 minutes later and sauce was not on the side. It also did not look fresh... the girl seemed confused when I told her the sauce was supposed to be on side and she did eventually say she would remake it.. it was close to Closing for the kitchen and I just decided to walk out with my drink and avocado pudding even after paying for the wrap.

This is a nice vegan place with a touch of Indian taste in their food. The ambience is very vibrant with colorful chairs and paintings.We ordered a grilled veggie quesadilla, kitchari and tiger mountain mushroom burger.All the items were good in taste and definitely super healthy. I felt the quesadilla can have a variation of with and without cheese options, I would have opted for the cheese one !I added a little salt (but that’s a personal choice) to the kitchari but that topped my list. It was delicious 😊Definitely coming back.. their food options are interesting..

Good for what it is. If you like vegan food, this place seems like it would be amazing. Even for the non-vegans, Im sure you will find something delicious here to eat. The only drawback, compared to regular food, is that the ingredients they use are really expensive and therefore your meal is gonna pretty pricey. Im assuming amongst other restaurants like them, they are probably priced well. Tons of variety and flavors with lots of healthy, healing foods. Hot drinks, blended drinks, spicy stuff, fiberous stuff... They seem to have a lot. If youre ever feeling like you just need a good dose of healthy food, or youre the nut butter, tree hugging, veggie-saurus-rex type, this place is for you. They even have things Im sure kids would like.

Im not a vegan.This place is amazing. The flavors are wonderful. The food is filling. Everything Ive tried so far is great. The Quinoa wrap, nachos, Tiger Mountain Burger, lemonades, deserts, quesadillas... Its all amazing. I cant recommend this place enough, for everybody. This is our second review here. Though the food is processed slowly, they will make every dish carefully and deliciously. They have different kinds of cookies. There are many kinds of bread for the animal toast. My favorite is the multi grain bread. There are many different kinds of jams too and my favorite jam is strawberry jam. They give different fruits on the toast each time. Each of those fruits is used as a decoration to make an animal like an owl. For example, round shape cut bananas are the eyes. You also can get this in the shape of a fox. Back to the owl toast they have different designs of the owl toast. One of the designs is there in the photo below.

This was our first time eating at Zest Kitchen. I had the Zest Burger and my fiancé had the soup of the day and the Tiger Burger. The sauce was delicious. We both enjoyed our meals. There is an oil free and light oil menu which is great to see! So happy to find a vegan restaurant! We will return to try out other menu items!

If youre looking for a healthy but delicious vegan meal, this is the place for you. They have a pretty large menu selection. They even have baked goods for easy to go snacks. Id recommend the burger with mushrooms and the apple caramel cheese cake.

My second time going there. Today I got the Mushroom Panini... Far from what I expected to taste as I am not a big mushroom fan, but it was recommended. It was DELICIOUS!!! Excellent food! Personally, I am not vegan, but I am gluten & dairy free. I can eat just about everything on the menu, including the “shakes” and cheesecakes! I got a divinity shake and the Tiger Mountain burger. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Utensils and to-go containers are all reusable or compostable (for those who care about that). The location is a little tricky to find the first time, but it is also handicap accessible! I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

2nd time I’ve been here and I love their food! Sometimes vegan food doesn’t taste great, but this place knows how to make it amazing! The nachos and BLT are delicious. The cheese sauce on the nachos is super tasty, and coconut bacon was surprisingly really good and smoky flavored.Highly recommend trying different things on the menu and finding what you like.

I like this place. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious and the portions are massive -i was blown away, but really enjoyed it. Only reason this isnt 5 stars is very specific to me in that the options were a bit limited, but that is by their design of being meat free. I didnt know that before going (perhaps accidentally overlooked it), but it just means the offerings are a bit more limited. Id definitely recommend to my vegetarian friends!

For anyone who is vegan or gluten sensitive, this place is a wonderful place to eat. You don’t have to be stressed out when you order food. I tried the mushroom burger with gluten free bread and it was really good. You have to also try the Siete churro flavored chips that they have on the wall too. Those are my favorite gluten free snack! Everything they have on the menu can be made to your liking. Great place to bring your friends and have a peaceful lunch!

This place is such a hidden gem! We ordered an outrageous amount of food because we wanted to try everything. I must say the nachos were an especially fun treat. Absolutely delicious and with a notably healthy twist. It wasnt greasy or overly salty. The staff was extremely friendly and gave good recommendations on their favorite items. I wouldnt expect a place like this in Rocklin, but Im very glad its closeby! Even if you arent on a plant-based or vegan diet and youre looking for a healthy and reasonably-priced meal, this is a great place! A very low-key, spiritual vegan restaurant with lots of things that you can take home that are also nice to have. The portions are large, everything is very very fresh and it is tucked in a little strip mall in Rocklin so don’t miss it if you like a lighter meal and are near the Sunset Boulevard area and Stanford Ranch Road, I would recommend you give this a try.

Really enjoyed this restaurant so far. The staff are super friendly and the food is fresh. I tried the burger and the nachos so far. Their sauces are worth the trip alone! What would put the nachos over the top would be some Seitan chorizo crumbles (hint hint Zest) and not sure if guacamole is an option but i wasn’t offered any then saw some in pics... atmosphere is basic casual. The employee who helped us was willing to check recipes to verify which sauces didnt have onions or garlic. I had the quinoa wrap with cilantro lime sauce, which was scrumptious. The quinoa wrap was huge and I enjoyed half later for dinner. The others with me enjoyed the mushroom burger and nachos. The nachos were huge too. Would definitely return!

Food took awhile to come out but she explained that the hash mixture didnt seem fresh enough so they grated the potatoes and beets right then and there - doesnt get any fresher folks! This place is awesome! The food is SO creative, SO delicious, and SO healthy! The customer service was also wonderful; there was a slight mix-up about a drink we ordered (not sure if that was our fault or theirs), but regardless they were very happy to replace it! Neither my partner nor I are vegans, but we both REALLY enjoyed our meals. I’m kind of a health nut, so I’m always on the lookout for places like this and have been to quite a few. I think this is one of my top two favorite places I’ve ever been. We drive through the area fairly regularly so I’m excited to come back!

This restaurant is amazing! There is a wide variety of vegan meals to enjoy, ranging from breakfast foods and smoothies, to savory and filling lunches and dinners. My partner and I come here several times a month. 😋The only setback, which is totally understandable in our current climate of skeleton crews, is the food can take 30 to 40 minutes to come out.But I will always support this small business, especially one that is vegan first and friendly. 🌱

This is our first and probably our only 1 star review. Let me start by saying, I’ve eaten almost everything that’s vegan, and I enjoy most of it. I also had high hopes for this place! Bad customer service. Food decent. Im not sure if its just considered uncool to take ones order promptly there but we had a few people just walk past us while we sat at front counter and even at the table and no one acknowledged us for nearly 10 minutes. I finally decided to ring the bell while someone was walking to the back kitchen and got our order taken. Tacos were great, chickpea wrap was dry and I most likely will not head back there unless Im desperate.

Zest kitchen was recommended to me by a friend, and Im so glad I tried it! It instantly became my favorite place to eat. The food is delicious with so many great options, and the employees are always super nice. My go to is a quinoa wrap with avocado, its always packed full of veggies and the perfect amount of quinoa and sauce. I also tried the cheesecake tiramisu today for the first time, and that was absolutely amazing and definitely worth the price! This restaurant is amazing! Their food is ridiculously good and they always have a variety of fun meals, snacks, and drinks to choose from. The staff is super nice and will take the time to answer questions and even recommend more places to eat if you mention you have food restrictions. I love the goodies like the muffins and brownies and crave the prana bowl like crazy all the time. They are also very good about food allergies and are understanding when I tell them I have a gluten allergy, they have never cross contaminated my food. I got the raw nori seaweed wrap, it tastes much better than a typical sushi-rito because the rice spring wrapper holds everything in and adds a nice flavor. This burger was flavorful, fresh and filling.They also have an assortment of cold sandwiches, wraps, salads and spring rolls to choose from. As for drinks, the have a wide selection of teas, smoothies and pressed juices. We ordered fresh strawberry lemonade and an iced tea, which were also very good.To other non-Vegans, I think that you will be pleasantly surprised if you are willing to give something a try here. There are also plenty of items that may turn you off or require developing a taste for them. My only criticism for Baagan would be that the selection of items on the menu that would feel more accessible to a non-Vegan to try for the first time is limited. Now, its entirely possible that they arent exactly going for us but I say consider extending an olive branch out a little and you may help bring more people a little closer to your healthy and conscientious way of eating.

I love the food, the service was fast and friendly too. Great soups, especially the Black eyed bean soup and the Red bean soup. The healthy Do-nut holes are yummy! made with coconut, Dates, nuts and other healthy things.

My GF and i stopped by and got thier mushroom burger and raw carrot cheesecake, and i was almost in tears the whole time IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE Baagan!! I eat there at least twice per week and wish I could eat there every day. My favorite things are veggie wrap (with pesto sauce instead of cheesy), Kitcheri soup, Fridays soup, ALL cheesecake flavors, Peanut Butter Cup shake, veggie quinoa quesadilla... But honestly, nothing I have ever ordered was even average.. Its always DELICIOUS. Most times I go to places I cant even find one thing I would like to order... but when I go here, its hard to decide out of all the yummy choices. If you havent tried it yet, GO!!

Terrible!!! Absolutely awful.. The restaurant has old menus with wrong ingridients... Wasted 15/20 mins waiting for nothing. I told her 4 times of my allergyYet she tells me U cant have what i ordered cause of the onions not listed on the menu. The mgr didnt even know and even argued there were no onions. Only to come back ohh i totally forgot and laughed. Allergies are serious and restraunts like this are awful.... Only care about money not updating menus and their customers health should be a higher priority than profit. I will never go here and Im telling all of my Vegan / Vegetarian circle. Just how bad their sevice, quality and following steps ensure the process. -1 rating!!

Disappointed with the food it was ordinary preparation to say the least Prana bowl had too much turmeric and the sandwich tasted crappy with oddly cut large tomato pieces and too much of carrot no flavor at all whatsoever. Price and quality parity sucked the most...$10 for the crappy sandwich ....any one can do much better at home at one third the price

They may or may not have good food. I will never know because I don’t ever want to go back to find out. I have been ignored by people before but I stood there for at least 10 minutes without being acknowledged. They ignored me to wait on people who came in after me. Even other customers noticed & commented. Very rude & unprofessional! At the very least, I would expect them to look in my direction and acknowledge that they know I’m there, not ignore me until I have to be rude and stop her from running to the back again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Angelique Miller, owner of Zest Kitchen, formerly Baagan, has one of the best, most versatile menus of any vegan restaurant Ive been to. And there have been a lot. The mushroom/goat cheese panini is my all time favorite sandwich, though the Zest nut burger is a close 2nd. The Prana bowl is another of my favotites. The seasonal cheesecakes are so good, an absolute must try. You will not be disappointed. Whenever I have guests, this is my go-to place to take them.
