It was the worst breakfast ever. The sandwich tasted simply disgusting. The latte was very hot, I couldn’t take a sip, but it shouldn’t be like that! In addition, they served the latte in a paper glass, although I said that I was eating it inside and they had mugs. Walking along Corona del Mar beach is a bit spoiled. This is a weird place, I dont recommend it.

Nice place . We ordered brunch, that was good and delicious. The waiters are so nice . When I ordered the croissant, asked the cashier could you warm it up for me ? He refused and said no we dont do that 😮😮. But then I asked the waiter and he did that (thank you) . I hope the tip which we paid ton the cashier goes to the waiters .

Finally had a chance to try this place and it was fantastic. Was completely tricked by the simple look of the outside. I was expecting a really small hole in the wall with little to no seating. I was completely wrong because they have plenty of seating along with a side patio. The food was very tasty and my chilaquiles had a very crunchy tortilla at the bottom which remained crispy to the last bite. I will be going back for lunch but be advised that they do NOT do dinner. This place is highly recommend

So there are places the locals love, and good for them. I’m a regular “guest”, but clearly Corona Del Mar isn’t aware that tourists are people too. I stopped by to check out the menu, ask about their retail wares. Nothing shows a price- books, souvenirs. So I ask the counter person. He doesn’t have a clue. My girlfriend who lives locally loves Zinc cause they love her. Nice. I spent no money and wanted to. Oh well.

Stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday. Nice location and ample parking. What we ordered was French toast and avo toast with poached eggs. Cappuccino was great too.

We usually have breakfast with my husband after we drop off our dogs to groomers! I must say we’ve tried many places and this place is horrible! The food and the quality of food was disgusting…. Eggs were overly cooked and felt like elastic… our iced coffee tasted terrible! I’m not sure how this place gets all these good reviews… never going back

You need to stop by and have breakfast, or lunch. Also, have a cup of mocha, cookie with your coffee. A unique place, food is great very consistent. A wonderful and great staff as well. They even have a happy hour, check it out

Outstanding! Impeccable service. Amazing food. I had the lebnah herb salad plate. (excuse spelling). I was in heaven. The lebnah was soooo good especially with the little bowls of sumac and fig jam they give you. Wish I lived near by I would be there often! My daughter ordered the Mediterranean omelette and was equally pleased.

Consistently good quality and tasty food and drinks just like their Laguna beach location. Ive mostly been there for breakfast and I love their oat cake and their espresso drinks are well made. I have hink they have a dedicated staff making drinks, which means consistency and good quality. The staff are friendly and the space is cozy and clean. They do have a small outdoor seating. One thing to note, they serve dairy and eggs, but no other meat products.

This is our go-to cafe for breakfast and lunch. Its so consistently excellent and filling that we hardly notice that it is vegetarian. Two favorites are the creamy stuffed peppers and the Rubenesque, which substitutes beets for pastrami. Zincs takeout lasagna is becoming a Christmas Eve tradition at our house, along with scalloped potatoes for Christmas Day. Order holiday takeout specials early.

Drove all the way from San Diego just to eat here. First time here and didnt disappoint. The food was amazing and all the workers were very nice. Helped us explain how the restaurant works and helped us settled in. Food was delicious as well as it was beautiful. I will definitely be coming back and telling my friends about it.

Around newport, huntington it’s tough to find legit speciality coffee. I’m not talking about when you type into Yelp “speciality coffee” and Starbucks, 7-11 and Donut shops pop up... like legit good quality direct trade, roasters that don’t pick bargain bin coffee. Zinc sources from Intelligencia, on of the leaders/ large chain in the speciality coffee world.Personally I like to support my local small batch coffee roasters but Intelligencia is pretty damn smooth.I got a short americano and my lady got an americano. Both tasted great. Friendly staff while we waited. I’d love to come back and try the food. Very clean looking. Sautéd veggies, quiche, and more. Nothing looked deep fried gut buster style.Keep up the great work Zinc cafe. I’ll be back down that way again soon!

Lets get one thing out of the way: most of the people who patronize Cafe Zinc are incredibly rich, and if you cant break their cover on sight, you will as soon as they sit down and you hear them talking. This being said, the food is amazing. The humble grilled cheese sandwich is a pleasure, consistently browned, with melted Gruyere cheese and perhaps a pickle. Their orange juice is perfectly fresh-squeezed, and they must blow two oranges for every orange that gets into the drink because there is no sourness or pithiness in it. I would drink two or three at a sitting if only they didnt cost $7 for the large size. Anything with poached eggs is a winner because of the boggling consistency of the egg chef; perfect every time. As F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, “The rich are very different from you and me.” Indeed, they can have perfect food like this anytime they want, at any price.

I have visited this restaurant about a dozen times in the past few years, mostly for breakfast and once for take-out. I have to say that this place is popular and fabulous! The display of food alone is artistic and appealing. And then there is the actual taste: real quality ingredients and care go into the preparation of everything Ive tried here! It is a order-at-the-counter kind of place, with rustic-looking decor inside and outside (not a garden cafe setting). Beautiful people are found here interspersed with ordinary looking ones. You will see attractive people of all ages in all manner of dress: at the community table where I last sat, there were 3 women in their 30s- one blonde and white, one Asian, one African-American, all of them skinny and with huge diamonds on their ring fingers - chatting over cups of coffee about husbands and children. Youll also see fitness nuts in their 60s, lean and ready to ride their bikes another 40 miles, well-heeled grandmothers with their fidgety grandchildren, teenagers enroute to the beach, tourists stopping for a bite. I LOVE their pastries and salads! All the breakfast items come to you fresh and hot. The only thing I dislike is the noise level of happy customers all chatting at once as they enjoy their feast!

An all time favorite in CDM. I have been coming here since it first opened. It is a staple of my family and such a fantastic spot. I actually worked here one summer as well. The space is open and cozy at the same time. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Can get very busy on the weekends.Zinc has amazing food. It is all vegetarian, but they dont advertise that really. Despite not having any meat on the menu, the recipes are incredibly flavorful and unique. There is a wide array of options. Salads are fantastic especially the Nicoise salad and the Thai Salad. The pizzas are great as well, the pesto is my favorite. Sandwiches too, I like their version of the grilled cheese (a grownup version with tomato and whole grain mustard). And their lattes are the best in town. They use beans from one of my favorite roasters (Intelligentsia Coffee). You can get drip, french press, or espresso drinks. Also, the zinc sunrise is an amazing drink that I like to get sometimes. The green and black ice teas are fantastic as well.I love Zinc!!
