Zinque is a great French-style restaurant featuring an absolutely charming interior and a fantastic dockside patio. The service there is top-notch, and the menu is quite interesting. We decided to give their cold appetizer with tuna a try, it was delicious and well-seasoned, offering a remarkably fresh and delightful taste.

Poor quality. As a fan of the Venice location, this past weekend really disappointed me. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with added avocado and bacon. This sandwich used to come on a English muffin and it was delicious. I’ve had the new version in Venice. It was good, but not amazing. The sandwich I had in Newport this past weekend was awful. The “focaccia” was more like two giant crackers and it had no seasoning at all. The sandwich was barely warm and the bacon was average. Our drinks were also lacking. I won’t be dining here again.

First time in Newport beach CA last week and loved the environment immediately! This restaurant is right by the ocean with many yachts parked besides it, I love the music the people are playing on it! It got me so energised!I ordered their Rigatoncini Bolognese dish, it was delicious and met my expectation! It was served warm but it gets cold quickly as we were by the ocean. However it does not cost any inconvenient.My friend ordered their Grass Fed Beef Burger & Fries with a Bellini. The fries are so thin and on point! Also loved the sauce provided for the fries!We both had a lovely day there and no question would I come back when given the chance to! Servers are polite and everything was great!

Below average service and food quality. I ordered le bowl with chicken … it was very undercooked. Their bloody merry was wine based (not sure why they need to call it that) especially that they didn’t have celery either. Orange juice was definitely not fresh. Best thing on their menu is french toast.

Great atmosphere on the water. Food was tasty, quickly served and beautiful presentation. The cocktails were great.The service was really good. She was polite, but dish knowledge seemed like she was not sure about them. The only downside was that it seems like a service by team system, but no one really tells you. Seems like it, which is great, but would be helpful to inform the guests. Still trying to figure it out.

Went in for early breakfast. They claimed to make most of their pastries in house, but the croissant was not fresh. The coffee was good. My soft scrambled with lemon and herbs was fluffy, light, and delicious. The staff are nice and attentive. The view into the harbor is relaxing. I would visit again to try different items on the menu.

This is very sad actually and I writing this just with hope that someone will read it and do something about it. This place is at absolute prime location, gorgeous restaurant with great menu and service is not bad but the food ? It’s just embarrassing, everything is BLAND! and I mean so bland that you taste nothing, chefs are working with good ingredients but are not able to execute them at all. I am pretty sure that none of the cooks taste what they cook. Last time I got prosciutto and they did not clean the meat from fat before they cut it. I sent it back and they apologize that they have new people working on the kitchen. Ok but you don’t have chef who is controlling quality of food when it’s leaving kitchen ? Yesterday I got some fried tapas what was supposed to go with horseradish cream. That cream didn’t see horseradish miles away. Tasted just like cream and the rest taste like nothing. Sent it back. Pasta was bland, you should have salt and pepper on the table. The only good thing was that zucchini tapas I think it was with raclette cheese. That bold favor of cheese literally saved the dish. I love your location that’s why I am keeping going there but you should fire whoever is cooking there or show them where are you hiding salt.

Overpriced, underwhelming food, you’re paying for the atmosphere. Came here for brunch on a week day. Service was a little slow. We had to wait in line to order at the counter. Portions were small for what you’re paying. The pork Bahn Mi sandwich was disappointing; it was mostly bread with very little filling. The side salad was just dressed mixed greens with a little avocado.

Made reservations to celebrate a birthday and had made a request for outdoor. Food quality not aligned with price. Great view and ambience.Error #1: Arrived and they asked indoor or outdoor, which means they didn’t read the reservation notes.Error #2: Host dropped us off at our table and said “you’re here” and walked away abruptly.Error #3: Server never acknowledged Birthday and never brought dessert of any sort to celebrate. We even opened up gifts from a bag that noted ‘Happy Birthday’ on it as she past by and she never once acknowledged the bday. She sure did bring a dessert menu though. It was a sad ending to what I expected to be a good place to celebrate a special day.

I made a reservation for 12 people for my friends bachelorette brunch. The single pro: we arrived early and were able to be seated. However, the moment we sat down, everything started to go downhill.CONS:1. The hostess was incredibly rude. Dropped us off at our table then walked away with no word, no menus, no water. Half of our table was in the sun (sitting in 95° for 2 hours is no fun) and with no assistance after multiple requests to move an umbrella. We asked our hostess if there was anything she could do about it and said go ask your waiter even thought she wasnt doing anything but standing behind the podium. Our requests for a little shade and water was basically passed off from person to person to person.2. The food was good, but not worth the price. You are definitely paying for location and vibes.3. We asked to have our parking validated and was told to do it ourselves in the back.

Great location right on the water with beautiful yachts and water views and ambiance. Cousine is mixed French/ Italian.We had a flatbread with pancetta, pate and leeks, Gautier quiche, and carpaccio salmon with avocado salad. All good and freshly prepared. Great happy hour selection and prices until 6;30pm. They even brought dessert for my wifes birthday. Fast and good service. Best value on Lido Island promenade.

I would give this place less than 3 stars if it weren’t because of the view and location of the restaurant, which were beautiful and charming. The restaurant itself was cute both outdoors and indoors.Out of the appetizers and main dishes that we ordered, the flat bread was the only acceptable item that we got. The steak frites was just ok, nothing spectacular. The rest was simply average or below average.The tuna tartare had no flavor other than that of plain raw tuna. Served with barely toasted baguette, no spices or anything exciting. Honestly I don’t think it even had salt, a first time for me.This place has potential, but they need to rethink their menu and/or have a chef that oversees what’s going on in the kitchen. Lovely place! Great food, excellent service (they were lightning fast), fair prices. Steak + frites wasn’t the best I’d ever had, but the tuna tartare tartine was excellent as was the burrata + cherry tomatoes appetizer. Lovely harbor views, really nice ambiance, and easy parking at the lido marina garage (2 hours free with validation). Build in time to walk around before/after!

Really lovely location and a atmosphere. We arrived at 10am on a Saturday and it was still quiet, but they were slammed with customers by 11am. Great coffee from La Colombe. My dish, le bowl, was great. My friend got the baked eggs and said they were really good but was unimpressed by the measly $3 side of mini sausages. Portion to price ratio could be tweaked overall. I would still recommend.

I love it here! Great brunch and lunch place with yummy drinks. I like that the food portions light and not oversized. If youre a guy looking for a large meal, this is not your place. I need to start this review off by saying this was the first restaurant of 3 that would even allow us to eat due to it being a graduation weekend. So our table started with a 45 minute wait, which is completely understandable, but the entire experience from just trying to get seated, and get decent food, was horrible. Im only giving three stars because it was a busy weekend and Im hoping that this was a random occasion for the restaurant staff.Pros:- Cool vibes- Friendly staff- vegetarian friendly and accommodating.Cons:- hostess seemed confused multiple times, as they told us our table was ready twice when it wasnt.- servers at open seating did not seem to be in any hurry to get us a drink even though we sat down and asked for both food and drink menus. (We even told the staff we wanted to order and they never came back to take our drink order)- some of the seating areas are very awkward and not conducive to conversation. (Choose elsewhere for a group of 5 or more)For the food:The prices were ok, but the menu doesnt give you an idea of what dishes come with size, and what is available. We ordered fries, because after almost an hour wait, we were hungry and this was the only thing that was on the menu. Also, when we received the fries, after waiting another 20 minutes even though we asked for them and mentioned we were really hungry, they werent even hot. They tasted great, but the temperature was as if they had sat in a food warmer.We order a strawberry Nutella crepe - it tasted fine, but the crepe was thick and burnt. Our friend ordered a veggie crepe and the crepe was even more burnt and weird tasting.The breakfast sandwich was presented well, but it tasted different. Perhaps the cheese made it taste a bit burnt, but after one bite, I let my husband have the rest.All in all, the consensus from our lunch group was 1) we liked the dipping sauce for the fries, 2) way overpriced and small portion size 3) not worth the wait

After reopening after the pandemic customer service by managers is cold and unwelcoming. The server that served us however was like family. Very down to earth and friendly in that younger brother vibe. The classic steak frittes was back down to its lower quality. Flap steak a La fancy sauce. The burger was beautiful, although it seems they didnt toast the bun like they used to. Not terrible, not their best.Hands down the best item for the day Tuna tartine. Fluffy meat, crispy toast, rich deep flavors.The beer? First ordered the Belgium on the rec of the waiter, a Lil too sour for my taste. The classic lagunitas on tap didnt disappoint.4 stars for less than stellar normal plates. 5th star for tartine, overall a 4 @ this time.

Our family got sick after dining at Zinque at Newport today. 3 hours after lunch, my daughter and I have been sick. We called the restaurant to report this issue to the manager. But the person who answered the call asked us why we were calling and never connected us to the manager. He simply told us the managers email and there was no words of apology. There was nobody in the restaurant who felt responsible for the issue. Avoid eating quiche at this place.

I love this location, it’s got a beautiful view of the Newport Beach Harbor, and it’s a long a beautiful walkway with boats for rent and many other shops and restaurants. The food is always delicious, however the service can be hit or miss. On this particular day, there was a very long wait, and the server brought a side that I had ordered much earlier, after I had already paid the check and was leaving from the table.

It was my first time and Id only return if I had no other option. The food was OK. I had a banh mi sandwich with overcooked pork belly and side of thin fries. My fiance had a soft scramble with smoked salmon. The banh mi was far from a traditional Vietnamese banh mi sandwich. It wasnt bad but I wouldnt call it banh mi. I did enjoy the siracha mayo that came with my fries, so much that I had to ask for more, but our server was quite aloof, borderline rude. After not paying full attention while taking out order, he never came back to church on us and as a matter of fact, never even looked in our direction. He walked by and I tried to get his attention with an excuse me, and he didnt even bother to turn. He was, very focused on the table of young girls sitting next to us though. When I finally got the attention of another server, he was nice, but forgot about my request, so I had to wave him down to remind him. It wasnt particularly busy, so it was sorta weird service was lacking.

The reason they get 5 stars and not 4 is because the waiter helped make the experience great. Food overall was good, just needed small adjustments to be great. Our soup was luke warm, he quickly fixed that and it was perfectly hot and it was delicious. The pasta needed a little more sauce and salt, he asked the kitchen to make more sauce took our plate, reheated it very fast with more sauce and the pasta was amazing! He catered to us very well to help make the experience a good time for us. The kitchen also did a very nice job. Side note I think a few of the items could use a price adjustment ⬇️

Im disappointed in the restaurants lack of customer service. We made reservations for 10:30 for a standard table. Upon arrival, we were told we would have to sit at a high top inside or a standard outside. It was 59 out and I was with my 81 year old parents. When I pointed out a table we would be comfortable with, I was told that was being saved for a reservation. We left. Im sad because I was looking forward to the French cuisine.

For the record, I have never written a review before but had such a terrible experience here that I felt compelled to share it with others. First off, the service is disaster. We had a reservation, and when they went to seat us they put us at a table that was on top of someone else. The host was polite and moved us to a new table but when we finally sat down it took more than thirty minutes for someone to take our order. When we went to order, the waiter informed us that two main sections of the menu were not available and the menu was wrong. To make matters worse, the food is mediocre and lacks flavor. If your looking for a sit down restaurant on the Lido, go to Malibu Farms or Lido Bottle works which both have excellent service and food.

Just be aware of all the boat renters exiting and entering the dock with can be a nuisance if you get an outdoor row seat. Food was great, not too much selection but no misses yet. Impressive food by the bay. We had tuna tartare as an appetizer and it was delicious.. The grilled salmon, with brown rice and ratatouille was perfect. The best tasting meal however was the grilled whole branzino. The fish meat just melted off the bones and then melted in our mouths with absolute ecstatic flavor for our taste buds. The only knock on this experience was that they brought our main course before the appetizers.We were thankful to have been able to get a table in 20 minutes without a reservation. Fabio is fantastic. He was my bartender last night and was so friendly And accommodating! He was so very quick and tending to every guest, a great asset to the restaurant. I was waiting for my friends and asked for a dry wine, he gave me a great glass of wine and without asking, he suggested I try a Bordeaux which I ended up liking even better!
