Royal Dragon Chinese Restaurant
21101 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
Two thumbs up????First time here, they pack the container with lots of food. I got chow mein, beef broccoli & spicy chicken (I think that was the name had a tag saying it was new). All items had amazing flavor. I really loved the chicken, it was crispy, flavor was not spicy unless you ate it with a jalapeno, was more of a sweet teriyaki pepper flavor. I got my boyfriend the same but Kung Pao chicken instead of the spicy chicken & he too loved all of it. Reasonable price too both items cost $15+change...Will definitely be back. (Dont mind the onions in my pic, I dont like onions & always take them out Lol)

Pricy, but worth it.Heres why:1. The service here is beyond stellar. For coming into this place on a Saturday just before the dinner rush, I felt like every single person in the restaurant was focusing their attention on our needs at our table. And we were a pretty large party.2. The Freshness.Yes, they are a little bit more expensive than say the chain sushi places. But you do get 10 times better quality here. Everything from the Fresh wasabi to the yellowtail sashimi is of the utmost best quality you could ever ask for in a sushi spot.3. Hole in the wall vibes, with a retro feel.I felt like we should have been sitting next to a celebrity. Its that kind of place, out of the way, tucked into a quiet part of a strip mall. This spot has the atmosphere like you should be seeing someone famous in here trying to lay low.In general, the dishes we ordered were a good representation of what this restaurant does best. The yellowtail sashimi was buttery smooth, melt in your mouth and very flavorful. The octopus salad blew me away. Very fresh, very tender. The fresh Wasabi is divine. Its not like the Spackle type paste you get at the chain Sushi restaurants. No no, this is bright green, almost like a sweet pickled cucumber, finely diced consistency. All of the rolls we ordered had plenty of fish, not just rice, and were absolutely delicious. All of the sauces had a lot of flavor, with lots of complex things going on in each. For instance, some are sweet and sour, yet cool and refreshing, others were very savory with spice and umami. The seared tuna sushi is exceptionally tasty.Another favorite of mine was the Red Dragon Roll.Theres usually a few parking spaces out front, and also a handicap space or two.In summary, this is a place you enjoy like a trophy after a long competition of lots of hard work. Its a spot that you reward yourself with, treat yourself to on a special occasion, or just enjoy it as often as you like, or can afford. Lol. Its definitely worth it!
Oi Asian Fusion
7242 Canoga Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
My family and I had a feast of flavors at Oi Asian Fusion. Located at a small strip mall, there is plenty of parking. There is a simple, yet trendy feel at Oi Asian Fusion restaurant and you feel welcomed. I have to shout out the staff, they were SO NICE and made effort to make a connection. *If you check-in you get a FREE drink (bottled Coke all the way). Now, the food was AMAZING- all of it! The pork belly bowls are amazing, Chicken Karage are HUGE pieces of crispy delightfulness, and at 5 pieces for $12, you cant go wrong! Get the bun combo- you get 2 buns (your choice) and a side of Fries (the fries are chefs kiss!) ? My personal favorite wasn the pork belly bowl. The egg is cooked to perfection and flavors are salty, savory, and zezty with a creamy finish. Make sure you add some extra garlic sauce- it goes a long way! I also highly recommend the desert options. The Thai Flan was creamy, and thai tea flavas came through, and my favorite was the Ube Upsidedown cake- it was soft, creamy with sweet bits of crumbles. Portions are on the smaller side for the price, but WORTH IT!I cant wait to make another trip out. I have my eye on the Dynamite Crawfish Bowl and that Angus Burger Bun.

Mexican to avoid.Atmosphere: Small shop menu is clear about 4 or 5 tables, nothing good or bad here.Staff: friendly & helpful everyone was very nicePrice: prices are good $2.50 a taco probably one of the cheaper tacos in the area.Food we ordered:Chips: a smaller batch of chips covered in what i expect is a mole possibly and some cheese. This was pretty good nice crunch on the chips. came with two salsas a green and red both had a nice strong flavor and a bit of a kick.3 Tacos Combo -Carnitas Taco - The best of the 3 tacos we got, strong lime flavor which i liked add some of both salsas and this is the thing to get. However my one pet-peeve with carnitas... If while you are adding carnitas to the taco and you see a LARGE piece of inedible fat DONT PUT IT IN the taco...El Pastor Taco - The one recommended by the staff, strong flavor decent taste not my thing but also not bad.Chicken taco - this might possibly be one of the worst chicken tacos I have ever had.. No seasoning whatsoever the color was off im not sure they even put this on the grill.. absolutely avoid this at all costs. I wish I had photographed this one, it was that bad..Rice & Beans - overall soggy and not very good, flavorless.Overall the food was not great. We went on a Friday after lunch so it wasnt busy. Im unsure if the food is just pre-made but nothing was really hot.. The food and the reviews on this place just dont match up... Not sure what people are eating but it isnt the food here..Tips:Plenty of parking in the lot, the candys next to the soda machines are a nice touch.
Asian Sisters Caf
7140 De Soto Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
Asian Sisters is a new Vietnamese-heavy fusion cafe. Most all of the dishes are essentially Vietnamese with elements borrowed from other Asian cuisine, including Thai and Indian. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, among them, I recommend their garlic noodles, which feature crispy garlic over lightly stir fried egg noodles with cabbage. Their Asian Side Noodles are another popular item, with beef and pork stir fried into egg noodles and bean sprouts. Their banh mi is offered with beef, chicken or bbq pork. I recommend the pork. The only thing I wish is that they would grill the French roll...it is both typically done at Vietnamese restaurants, and gives the sandwich some extra texture and flavor. The atmosphere is modern and the restaurant is clean. As for service, the owners are friendly. Prices are moderate.
Brewz Sports Cafe & Grill
7921 Canoga Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91304, United States
Terrible service! Literally thrown out because i didn't drink enough! I am a woman and went to this sport to watch my NFL football tram play, and our of the blue, the owner called me to the side and demanded I and not come back because i didn't order alcohol beverages nor ordered food every time i went there, so i was not welcome and not to come back. I had bern there several times, tipped well, and i was discriminated against as i do not drink alcohol, and ordered soda instead. No food/drink minimum purchase policy was ever relayed to me, prior. They cater to regulars, and if you are not, you are not welcome. If you live in The Valley and want to catch a sports game at a local bar and grill, go somewhere else! Also, they closed very early once when i was there, on a Saturday evening because the staff wanted to go home, and customers that were there about 7:30pm, were unceremoniously closed out, as the staff turned over the chairs at tables while customers had recently ordered.
The Cheesecake Factory
6600 CA-27 Suite 51, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
My rating for this restaurant is an actual 0. I don't like giving bad reviews for no reasons but what I went through today was absolutely unacceptable. The saddest part is that this is the second time this is happening. Here is my story, Today I booked an appointment at 2pm. I got there on time and the girl who was at the Reception told me that “ the good thing is that you have an appointment, so your waiting time is 10 minutes. We will call you early than that time!” I was like alright 10 minutes it's okay I will wait. I waited there until 2:20 ( I was just trying to be understanding of the fact that they were busy). When I went and spoke with girl again. She said I am so sorry, we are cleaning up your table and we will Call you in 10 min. Long story short I was let in 2:40 rather than my original appointment time which was 2:10. When I spoke with the manager her excuse was being busy and the worst part is that she didn't even say I am sorry or anything nice rather she gave me and my family an extremely rude attitude. Then we went inside and saw about 8 (with 4 sits)tables open and nobody was cleaning them and making them ready for the costumers! It was so frustrating to see that! The worst part is when I asked my waiter to change our table she said the manger said we can't do that unless you guys wanna wait another 10 min. My whole family and I were extremely dissatisfied and for the first time we left a restaurant before even getting any services! This is not the only place where you can get good food. We went somewhere else with an awesome costumer service and great food! I am so disappointed with Cheesecake Factory! I will never, ever let anyone that I know go to this restaurant ever again! The manger and her crew not only dissrespected us but also had an extremely discriminatory behiavor towards us! ( I would include more info but I don't want take your guys time)Please do yourself a favor and don't come to this restaurant!
Grandma Kims Family Diner
8384 Topanga Canyon Blvd, Canoga Park, CA 91304, United States
This is the talk of the town Korean BBQ family diner for home cooked Korean Food. Once an establishment known for its article in the daily news of the granddaughter, Jennifer who had once grazed the kitchen with her grandma is now operated by some unknown people I wouldnt consider homely. I do miss the feel of Grandma Kims where Jennifer would be there asking my mom, dad, brother and I what we wanted to order. Of course we would order the marinated beef which is bulgogi. The best thing ever known to man-kind. We have had other dishes such as galbi which is marinated beef rib. The side dishes were always re-filled, the soup and rice were both delicious. That was in 2002. 12 years later, food is a bit dry... the side dishes have to be re-filled.. but the wait time is nearly long and you have to keep reminding the staff to refill the side dishes. The food takes a longer time to make and the staff will give you attitude because you want to refill side dishes, or you ask for more tea. I would be better at this, since I have worked at a Chinese Restaurant. Customer satisfaction and happiness comes first. You want a happy customer, not a disgruntled customer. You want them to return or give out referrals. Anyways, the thing that I have been craving the most is the korean cold noodle. The Korean cold noodle is a buckwheat noodle cooked in soup, and then cooled down with ice which in the end makes the noodle.. oh so tasty. i would recommend this dish. and like any other noodle with broth orders, u drink the soup. OMG I was in heaven... so grandma kims.. please work on the attitude and service.. i hope future customers wont experience what I have had.. recently.. BRING BACK JENNIFER!!!! and Grandma!!
Moon Sun Sushi Asian Fusion
7140 De Soto Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91303, United States
Our second time coming in but this time felt the need to review. Came in around 8:45 6/20for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend, they weren't too busy about three tables including mine. Was seated pretty quick came a little late so the sushi was going to be last call at 9:15 the server wearing all black was polite. on the other hand the other older lady came to our table after we ordered told me it was too much and forced me to cancel rolls. She said she would not let us order the food we put down for the all you can eat portion. She was yelling at everyone in the restaurant. From what I observed when the ring goes off sushi is ready so the server wearing all black was just about to go get the rolls for our table when the older server yells at her “HURRY UP GO GET IT WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?” she just put her head down and got the rolls then delivered them to the table. the quality of the food was pretty good I tried their salmon sashimi and some rolls the older lady didn't force us to cancel. Something I wished this restaurant enforced was having one server per table, they wouldn't communicate or at least that's what i assume because our server was the all black lady and she took our order but the older server would try and just take over giving us double ginger and wasabi when if they had just communicated she would've known that we already got it. instead of focusing on one of her tables. it seemed like the older server was just micromanaging the all black server telling her to go get the fish but would take it from her and serve it herself yet she never went to get fish herself. All we wanted to do was enjoy my birthday dinner but instead it was ruined by someone not letting me order for what I WAS paying for. Might not ever come back.
