The Hangout

Ive been watching a lot of animal documentaries. Its pretty wild to see what some animals will do to find a partner. This one bird will clean a section of the forest floor. Every time a leaf falls in his section, he freaks out. He flys over to the leaf and picks it up with his mouth to clear it out of his territory. His designated space has to be absolutely spotless so that if a lady bird is impressed, shell fly over to check out his spot. The male bird isnt done yet though. He then dances for her. He performs this dance in his new clean territory and if the lady bird is impressed, theyll mate. Talk about true love. It made me think, what do I have to offer a potential mate? Im not that clean and Im not the best dancer. So when I was on a date at the Hangout, I tried to think of other ways I could impress my date. When our pancakes came out, they had blueberries on top of them. Ive always been really good at throwing blueberries high in the air and then catching them in my mouth. So I started doing this in hopes of impressing my date. Maybe it would show her that I have good hand-eyed coordination...or mouth-eyed coordination? Itd also display that Im a healthy eater. Those are some valuable traits to pass down to a potential offspring. She tried to throw some blueberries in her mouth, but sucked. So clearly my genes had something to offer where her genes were lacking. Or maybe her brain was telling her, why would anyone want to practice such a useless skill -- Ive put in a lot of hours. Anyway, I dont know how impressed she was by my blueberry catching abilities, but I enjoyed my time here. The food was delicious too.
Three Brothers From China
2001 Contra Costa Blvd #50, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523, United States
I must give creds to the 3 brothers that came all the way from China to the East Bay. They certainly know how to prepare a delicious meal and most of all, without draining your wallet.4 stars for the food, 4 stars for the value!BEEF TOFU ($8) was super soft and topped with minced beef, slightly marinated. The FRIED FISH ($9) was very light and soft, with broccoli and green beans on the side. The SWEAT AND SOUR FISH ($9) had the typical, artificial-looking red marinade, that sweet&sour dishes need to have, and was great in taste. Finally, the CHOW MEIN NOODLES ($5) came in a super large bowl; thick noodles with seafood in it. Delicious. So this must be my favorite Chinese restaurant from now on. Service was quick, attentive, and patient. From China with love!
