Chapter Two California Kitchen
24957 Redlands Blvd, Loma Linda, CA 92354, United States
My husband and I have eaten at many Thai restaurants. This hole in the wall Thai restaurant is a gem! We stopped here on a trip as we were staying close by and decided to give it a try as we love Thai.First of all, you feast with your eyes before you eat and they did this superbly with presentation and colors. The flavors matched the eye candy. The salad that came before was unexpected and the dressing was really good! This is in our top 3 places for Thai curry, which is what we both had. They served the curry in a beautiful china looking bowl and it just added to the array of colorful vegetables that went so well with the curry flavors. I had pineapple shrimp and the shrimp were large and had as many as a more expensive restaurants. My husband had a combination of protein and they had everything in it. He loved it! We usually like more coconut milk in our curry, but the flavors were so good, we didnt miss it, at all.We had the mango sticky rice for dessert and it was the most colorful Ive had. Purple rice, from a mix of black and white, with chopped mango and strawberry with the yummy sauce. It was excellent!Oh, and the price?! Its a steal for the amazing flavor and quality of food. The owners were very friendly and we were glad to find this place. Go support them! You wont be sorry!!(We didnt take our phones in, or we wouldve taken photos)

Beware when online ordering - I ordered online today as the website states they open at 10am. I get a call from the manager stating that i had to change the order cause they open at 11am today. I advised of the website and advised how was i supposed to know that. He said that instead of fixing the website they left it as it is as its hard to change. So I asked him to go ahead and changed my delivery from 10:30am to 11:30am, which he said he did (mind you im at work and this is supposed to be ready by my lunch hr). Later when its 11:30am i get a call from one of the employees stating that i have to reorder the order since instead of changing the time they just cancelled the order and i would need to go pick it up. I cancelled the order instead and now i have to wait for the money to be placed back on my credit card. Never online ordering from here again.

Ordered two salmon meals through DoorDash and the Salmon was sour.I called the restaurant to complain yet couldn't speak to the manager because he didn't speak English.I was forced to now drive to the location where I was advised that the new order was not made with the same fish, yet it taste exactly the same. I was glad that I didn't leave before tasting the 2nd order. I was able to bring it back in where I ended up leaving irritated and with two steak meals instead. I was advised I could speak to a GM the next morning.Update: I called and was able to speak with the District Manager Ishmael and he was very understanding of my concerns and genuinely apologetic. He went above and beyond to rectify this challenge and for that I am truly grateful.

This is not your typical thai restaurant. It is mostly drinking food that you would typically see at food stalls in Bangkok. The prices are kind of expensive but it is understandable after talking to one of the servers. They said that everything is made in house and they get fresh local deliveries on their meats and veggies every other day. With that being said, you can taste the quality of the ingredients in the food. The pork belly and chicken wings was delicious. It comes with sticky rice and a side of a sauce made of fish sauce, ginger and garlic. They are usually on happy hour which is from 4 - 6 pm and 10 - close. As of our entrees we got this egg omelet over garlic rice. When eating this you can tell this is drinking food. The omelet had been sprouts and green onion inside. Also it was light and fluffy. It comes with this hit tamird sauce which is actually on the spicy spicy side but it taste good. We also got the ginger chicken which tasted just like ginger and the shredded chicken was moist. The atmosphere of this place is really nice. It kind of makes me feel like I am at Bangkok. I have never been but from movies and stuff. The only thing I wish I would of got to try is their cocktails. I would highly recommend coming to this place. The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is that a place can always improve on things. I just dont know what.
Redlands Galleria

DO NOT RENT A BOOTH THERE! It is very hard to make money there! Between rent and the percentage they take, you are lucky to break even! The employees hardly know anything about antiques, and they do not circulate to become familiar with whats is the store! They stand around talking, and gossip there is a real issue! You are at the mercy of unprofessional employees, and entitled vendors! If Something is missing out of your booth, they dont care, its tough luck for you! Youre on a month-to-month lease, and they can do whatever they want! Youre better off to sell from eBay, etsy, etc! From the moment I rented a booth at Redlands Galleria, I was harassed, lied to, and endured endless gossip, and rude employees! Those are the least of the problems too! This place is the most ridiculous place I have ever had the displeasure of occupying! The owner lacks integrity! He lies, has no empathy, and thinks he does not have to follow the same rules everyone else is expected to follow! His primary focus is money, over people! He doesnt keep up his property, and lets things go until its unhealthy to breath the air! There is mold from where the water leaks is several different places in the building! There are holes in the roof that leak, and all he does is cover them with plastic. Also, he has done work in the building, and has not taken precautions to protect the inside air from asBestos fibers and lead! These can cause serious health issues if not contained when doing any minor or major construction! When doing any kind of construction Lead and asBestos particles become airborne and can easily get into your lungs! I have a serious lung disease, and I have noticed an increase in my coughing! There are numerous security issues! No exit signs, and I had people ask my daily how to get out! I was there for 10 months and there were not any exit signs ever! It is a city ordinance that every commercial building has exit signs, why hasnt he had to have them? They dont even have back up lights, and I was there one night when they had a black out....they didnt even have flashlights! There are no handicapped restrooms, and men and women share the same bathroom. There are three stalls in the bathroom but only one works!I put my faith and trust in this store, and worked hard on my booths! I expanded 3 times! If I had the slightest indication that I was going to be harassed this way, I would never have rented a booth at the Redlands Galleria. I am 65 years old and permanently disabled! I have a serious lung disease, severe fibromyalgia, severe osteoarthritis, titanium fusion in my lower back! All I wanted was to be left alone!! The owner could care less about the vendors, unless your earning top dollar! I will never shop there again, and neither will anyone I know!
Redlands Ranch Market IGA
800 E Lugonia Ave A, Redlands, CA 92374, United States
So I grew up in Redlands and knew of this place from well before it became Ranch Market (used to be Super Daves). Now Im all grown up and have a child of my own. I go to Ranch Market here and there after picking up my daughter from school.I am a fan of their international selection and pan dulce which is why I go there. Their Concha breads are the only ones Ill eat!But... I recently had some not great experiences, Ill explain the most recent because its the reason I dont want to shop there.I got my groceries and went to check out. The cashier welcomed me and my daughter as they all do. After my groceries were rung up I paid using my EBT. I only got food items, but I owed a balance still. So I kinda freaked out (Im a single mom) because I check my balance before shopping. I asked her why it said I owed more and she said you only have 29$ on your ebt she did not look happy and there was a line... so I got out my debit card without furthering the conversation. When I got home I looked at the receipt and it said my remaining balance was over $100... so she lied? When it clearly says on the receipt I have more than enough. Why would she do that?I was very upset about this because right now Im financially struggling and rely on food stamps knowing I cant spend extra $.The other issue that evening, I bought Blue Bunny ice cream and when I took it out of the bag to put it in the freezer it was open. No saftey seals or anything. The lid fell right off. I looked closer and saw the tiny part that seals the lid was already broken. So I threw the ice cream away to be safe and had to deal with the toddler tantrums. Yesterday was just not a great ending to our day.I dont want to post the cashiers name... but lying was not ok. If you dont know the answer its best to say that. If you dont want to figure out the issue you shouldnt be a cashier.
Benjarong Thai Cuisine
1001 W Park Ave, Redlands, CA 92373, United States
Love this place. I live 58 miles out of town but whenever I get any where near Redlands I always stop by here to eat. I love Thai food and think this restaurant does a great job on dishes like Tom Kah Kai soup and Green Curry. My favorites. They provide commendable quality food at fair prices with generally excellent to above average service. Have yet to have a bad meal or weird experience while dining there day or night. People complaining about not getting lemon in their water are completely missing the point about the quality of the food and the service Benjarong Thai provides on a consistent basis. Sorry to tell you this folks, but Redlands is generally not known for its 4 - 5 star establishments. So what they are complaining about has very little to do with the excellent experiences I have had over the last 2 + years enjoying nearly everything on the menu along with amazingly attentive service. 4 months ago while enjoying my dinner there, I realized that my green curry was chicken not pork as originally ordered. Despite the waitress being swamped, she stopped what she was doing, informed the cook of the mix-up, which was not really an earth shattering event in the scheme of things, and replaced the whole previous dish with a pork dish plus boxed up my previous incorrect order and added extra white rice all to go in an attempt to make the whole thing right. This is the great service that I have come to expect on a regular basis and exactly what keeps me, my family and friends living in the area coming back again and again for Benjarongs caring and concerned attitude to do the right thing by their customers thus creating an overall quality experience on a regular ongoing basis. Anybody going off over not getting lemon in their water might want to consider Chilis or TGIF if they really wanted to gripe about something so irrelevant to a quality dining experience. I intend to come back again and again whenever I am in town. GO - EAT - ENJOY! You will thank yourself for having such great taste!
Mu Restaurant
309 W State St, Redlands, CA 92373, United States
This was our first time here and we were were celebrating a birthday. We enjoyed our food very much. The service was attentive and pleasant. We ordered the tofu lettuce cups to start. They were three generous portions already in the lettuce leaf. They were delicious, but hard to eat because the sauce and filling fell out. I would rather the filling be served in a bowl with a stack of lettuce leaves on the side for me to fill one at a time. We also shared the red curry, sweet and sour tofu and veggie fried rice. We loved them all and there were no leftovers! The red curry was the perfect blend of spice, creaminess and sweetness. My mom had the orange chicken and said it was the best she has ever had. We finished with the purple ice cream for the birthday girl and it was delicious. A large serving for sharing. I cant wait to go back. They can make many items vegan. To Mu, you should put your restaurant on the Happy Cow app. I would have discovered you sooner!!
Ocean Pho
1574 Barton Rd #5458, Redlands, CA 92373, United States
I can only speak to the service and the pan-fried items, but based on my experience, I won't be going back. First impression upon entering was that the host was hassled to see us. The restaurant was mostly empty, with only one more table occupied. We were told to take a seat anywhere. The menu barcode on the table was covered with the table items so we didn't realize there was one until being attended to some minutes later. The menu that pulled up from the barcode was for online ordering supported by a third party vendor, so it didn't have any item descriptions. I asked the server what is included in the lunch specials on the online order menu, and he stated “it's just lettuce, there's nothing special”. Okay. I exited the online menu and pulled up their website instead. Their website doesn't have a menu for the Barton location (hyperlink doesn't work), so I looked up their Mountain Grove menu and that one did have descriptions of items. We ordered #120-Panfried soft noodles with chicken. And Pad Sew Ew with beef. Both items are described as pan-fried. But both items were basically boiled meat and noodles swimming in runny sauce and steamed vegetables. There is no wok-wonder going on here. The soft noodles with chicken was especially horrendous, because the sauce was sickly sweet. It also did not taste Vietnamese cuisine as they had used Chinese white pepper in great proportion, from what I could taste. I could also tell the chicken was just boiled in water. The one star in this review is for the gentle lady from the kitchen crew serving the dishes. She placed the plateful of food on our table with love and a kind smile. ?
