Ive discovered Santa Marias freshest, best tasting, Chinese food buffet! Tucked in a small shopping mall you might miss it, but its well worth finding! First of all, the food just looks plain good. Colorful, fresh looking and steaming hot in smaller bowls that are refilled every few minutes. The servers were busy bringing food in and out of the busy kitchen. First things I dove into was super bright, salt and peppered green beans. These by themselves were so delicious I could have eaten a plate pile high with just these. Secondly, I piled a plate of sauteed, baby mushrooms. Finally, I had a crispy side of fresh sauteed cabbage with slivered carrots and bamboo shoots. For the meat, there was great looking and tasting beef and broccoli (the beef was plump, tender, and juicy)! The I had very good Kung Pao chicken and some crispy breaded orange beef. There are numerous seafood dishes including very fresh tasting shrimp prepared in various ways including sauteed with vegetables, fried, and tempura battered. There was a bowl of good looking snow crab legs that I saw several people partake in. I enjoyed the butterflied tempura shrimp! I also had a good serving of the chow mein and found it was light and fresh. There is a table of Chinese soups and rice dishes and a pretty unmolested looking salad bar also. There is a small, but nice looking desert bar with very good Chinese style fruit and coffee flavored Spong cake. It was so light and mildly sweet, I had to have 4 pieces! .there is also a soft serve machine and melted chocolate fountain that was fun to look at watch kids go up check out. The servers were nice and came by to see if I liked the food and told me to get more! Overall, so surprising to stumble upon such good tasting Chinese food! Its my new favorite place for Chinese food!

The pho here tasted authentic but contained msg. I know because I get a certain headache when food has msg. Also, it was a pretty disappointing first visit. There were only 3 small tables, the manager was also trying to wait tables. Two other young women who seemed to be working there, took up one table restocking napkins and silverware. They were dressed very unkempt, hair and clothes. Spent time chatting instead of waiting on customers. My friend ordered a shrimp pho, and I ordered the rare steak pho. They served us two of the steak pho instead. We asked for water. No water came. About 10 minutes after finally getting the soup, after they served our appetizer without any silverware, we asked for some, and one of the girls brought us 2 forks rolled up in one napkin! The whole experience seemed to not be geared toward their customers but toward their own socializing. Very disorganized and uninterested. Will try the other vietnamese restaurant in town. Not worth the $25+ we spent here, to have such an unpleasant experience.

Today me and my co-worker came in for lunch, it was our first time and I wasnt sure what to order, but my co-worker is very observant and he pointed out Santa Maria BBQ with roasted BBQ chicken, cheddar cheese, apple-wood smoked bacon, apple coleslaw, ranch dressing on focaccia bread with a salad. Then the associate asked us for our order once I looked at her, that was pretty quick, so we both ordered the Santa Maria BBQ chicken, chips and a drink, it cost us $28 bucks, sounds costly but this isnt bad. If you want to save $8 go to a fast food joint. But here at Urbane Cafe you get fresh food and excellent customer service. We delt with 3 different associates with taking our order, cleaning our table and clearing up our plates all with great customer service. They have an outside patio but I think it was too windy to place their umbrellas up, plus there was a cold Santa Maria wind so it would of been miserable to eat outside, we got lucky to have a table for ourselves. They may also want to put some type of wall because again that Santa Maria wind could be an issue. I will back next time and order that tri-tip sandwich. To me what was most memorable is the customer service, thanks Urbane Cafe Crew.

Completely unsatisfying experience. The place looks nice inside but thats it! It took 45mins to receive our first plate of fries and chicken nuggets for the kids. Aquachiles was depressing, 1/4 of a avocado and 1/4 of cucumber and maybe 5 or 6 shrimps for 18.99. Over priced for the plate. The Philadelphia is just cream cheese. I ordered the EL M1 which was just a cream cheese roll with rice. So sad I left it after 2 bites. We were a party of 7, 4 kids 3 adults but received the food well after other guess. Kids older all deep fried food that should of been out in 15mins. I was almost going to walk out and call the owner but I figured I save my breath. Total was 88.00 for 3kids combos 1 fries, 2 beers, 2 rolls, and the aquachiles. I want my money back.
