Mandarin Kitchen
722 Village Ct, Santa Rosa, CA 95405, United States
This new Asian fusion restaurant offers everything you want from from Asia under one roof. This stylish new restaurant was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted homemade. Fresh high quality ingredients. The menu is fun. We had ShuMai pork dumplings. These had a thin wrapping that tasted super fresh. They were light and bouncy. Tasted delicious. The Har Gow shrimp dumplings were delicious as well. We had Singapore noodles. Its not everyday you smell curry spice like a market in Penang. Huge prawns on top. Then the Bang Bang Shrimp. Huge bowl of shrimp. They were so good! After that we had the Mandarin fried rice. So yummy. The Chinese sausage was so good. We had a salad. Large permesan shavings, pears, cashews, arugula, romaine lettuce, small tomatoes in a ginger miso vinagrette. Such a great tasting salad. My brother had the oysters in a lemongrass herb sauce that was bright and yummy. For desert we got the black sesame ice cream on top of a matcha cheesecake. I love anything black sesame. This was very satisfying. We also had an orange sorbet with blood oranges. So refreshing! My sister in law had a Thai Martini that looked good enough to steal. Lots of great looking cocktails and mocktails on the menu. The service was seamless and our every need anticipated. Such a wonderful place to enjoy a family get together or a date night. Cant wait to come back and try the Mee Goreng. Another restaurant masterpiece!

Saw this place and thought Id try a new curry spot. BIG MISTAKE, MUCH REGRET!!!!It was still edible, but not good. I got the curry and rice bowl. This restaurant needs to change the name because it was absolutely not curry. It was ridiculously sweet, I could literally see the brown sugar that was used. Im not sure what type of curry they thought they were making but its terrible. Its so brown sugar flavored that there isnt even the taste of curry or any other flavors. On top of that, all the veggies and chicken were left whole so it was about 20ish minutes of cutting up all the ingredients and mixing it together before I was disappointed by the non-existent curry flavor.Curry is one of my favorite form of foods, and I expect it to be made well in this area since there are so many other good indian and thai restaurants. At the very least something labeled as chicken curry should resemble some sort of a curry flavor. The Thai tea is also disappointing and overly sweet, too much milk per tea I think, but that flavor discrepancy is harder to place.

I had been eyeing this place for months when I would pass it by on the bus. The location is quite ideal. Its in a little outlet area with other places to eat like Wingstop, Mombo's pizza, and Subway. There's even a barber shop and a college campus market. It's right across the street from the Santa Rosa Jr. College. It's definitely in a spot surrounded by life. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals very much. The menu was really easy to read as they have a large printed one on the front windows of their building. My friend had gotten the 1. The curry chicken udon and I got the 15. Beef Yaki Udon. It was so tasty! The only comment my friend had about the curry dish was to cook the carrots a little bit longer as they were crunchier than expected. The Beef Udon had a lot of veggies. Another note I had was more about the interior. Installing a large mirror at the end of the wall and above the last table I think would create an effect of making the place look larger. I wouldn't explain the service as a typical American restaurant where you sit down and they take your order. You get a tray and order at the register in the front and then you choose your table and sit down. Even when you are finished with your meal you get up and put it at the window for the dishwasher to take. There was a woman at the register I wish I got her name, but she was very nice and had a warm energy to her. I also like how the workers don't rush you out the door and actually let you take time with your meal. I had asked a friendly customer enjoying their meal for their opinion on this place and they had said they get something different every time they go there and it all tastes good. They even travel 30 minutes just to eat at this place. The parking lot can be busy at times, but there is still enough spaces for people hanging out there. It is handicapped accessible and kid friendly. I am an Asian food lover and this is now considered one of my favorite places to eat! It is a little pricey for only 2 people, but the quality wins on this one. If you're craving for Asian gourmet food with lots of quality, go eat there!——————————————————————————I disliked their teriyaki chicken donburi. The rice tasted rubbery and the chicken tasted like they warmed it up in the microwave.

Can't comment on the food as I didn't stay long enough to be served. I literally received no service for over 20 minutes. I had come to enjoy the gifts of today's sunshine and beauty. But also to celebrate the beauty of the human spirit of kindness. Well I can say without a doubt, A unequivocally and wholeheartedly that I was not the recipient of service? Any attention or kindness at this restaurant. The hostess a wonderful young lady felt sorry for me so you offered me service. My server literally did not acknowledge. can say with certainty this is not a restaurant I will ever visit again. Let me explain, I always wonder when I see one review vastly different from the others, I wonder why. I'm the only person of color in the restaurant. I thought of not mentioning the ethnicity/ because I didn't want to put in that realm but rather the spirit of people being kind to other people. Someone I've said - I may get the order incorrect- I'm accountable to your, I'm responsible for you and dependent on you m- because we are all connected. So posted not seeking a punitive response but a human response to do better?.so I'm sitting here and I'm looking at my server and I realize she is up in age - super busy and I wanna in the spirit of positive intent, making no assumptions and not taking it personal. Keeping in mind my server likely had no ill intent- and to practice - the art of assuming positive intent. I decided to stay and the service has great improved- augmenting one more time -stay away.My last edit you have to give people a second chance to improve and get better. Want to give me a second chance so I'll definitely go back. I stayed in Smashburger, which was delicious by the way.

Very industrial space that could use some warming up. Plenty of space between tables but not many tables for two and nowhere to sit at lunch because singles or pairs were at larger tables. I found the seasoning to be much too sweet and that was really disappointing and unexpected. Fries were good (oil smelled a bit old but they were hot and crispy), Korean burrito was very sweet and literally half cold/half hot as if they only warmed half of it, Israeli salad was also very sweet but I should have told them to omit the mango sauce. I'm not sure we would go back but if we do I will order off the make your own salad menu and can be selective that way. Two drinks, two mains, and an order of fries were about $55 before tip. Our food was delivered with a 15 minute wait between entrees. We had to ask for the rest of our food.

Bird & The Bottle
1055 4th St, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, United States
Bird and Bottle is one of the Stark Family restaurants scattered across Sonoma County and Santa Rosa. I believe they currently have 7 of which, weve been to 5. We have been twice here, once for a special occasion and once with friends who were visiting from Carlsbad. Both times our waiter was Anthony and the experience was sublime (you know how it is when the timing is exceptional). The place feels like a perfectly balanced cross between upscale eatery and family run grill. The go to for us here is their small plates. Oysters are perfect and locally sourced. Everything Greens could turn you into a vegetarian, they are that good. The Cherrywood smoked beets are just flat out addictive! When I think about Crispy Duck Cofit Tacos, the first thing that pops into my mind is, I think I need a second order of those. The key word in that phrase is need. I would be remiss if I didnt tell you about the 1/2 Rack of Oak Smoked Baby Back Ribs. Number one, I wish I knew where they sourced meat like this, thick and meaty with a bit of fat but not overwhelming amounts! Secondly, whoever does the smoking on these needs to know that the next time I come in, Im buying them a drink. These are the best ribs I have ever had and trust me, Ive covered a lot of ground. Let me just say, the desert menu is hard to decide which ones you will leave out. If its a big group, just order one of each and share. Our faves, Bourbon Butter Pecan Sundae and Whiskey Balls. One final pitch, cocktails, wine list, beers; all thoughtfully orchestrated, but with this food you could hardly go wrong. Disclaimer, we do not own stock in the company, but...

MoMos

This place has really consistent and amazing food. They have a wide variety of options for people who want sandwiches or salads or rice bowls. Also their online ordering system is really easy to use and they have a very nice accommodation section for people who have dietary restrictions also. The staff are super nice and helpful. They messed up my order once, but when I brought it to their attention they immediately made a new one and I know that doesnt sound very impressive. But from my recent experiences of restaurants and places to eat these days, the fact that they acknowledged they even made a mistake and offered to refund the meal was something that was good to see. Parking and location are really great they are right off the freeway and have plenty of parking as they share it with a few other businesses that coming to go all the time. So always an option Plus its free!

Santa Rosa Original Certified Farmers Market
50 Mark West Springs Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, United States
So we went to this farmers market, Santa Rosa Original Certified, on a Wednesday. My sense is that like many farmers markets the midweek market is going to be much smaller as this one was. But I was a little surprised that there werent more vendors. Was interested in one or two booths that werent set up by the time we got there which was about 30 minutes after the market hours are listed as starting. One vendor was visibly not hurrying to set up and the other vendors truck was parked but no one was there. There was some good looking produce and a meat vendor. We enjoyed a pork bao from the very friendly Chinese woman. Seemed like the market would be great on the weekend.
