GK Mongolian BBQ
6661 Stanford Ranch Rd Suite Q, Rocklin, CA 95677, United States
This is a new Mongolian BBQ that took over from what used to be Mongo GO-GO BBQ The owners retired to spend more time with family and perhaps do other things. Anyway, see.s timing is the key. Trying GK fornthe first time around 6pm, there was only 1 person at a table. We had 5 of us and then more families started coming in to have some GK.The hostest/server asked us for any drinks to get for us. Then after we sat down, we were given the options of included sides (plate of Cheese Rangoon, Crispy Wong Tongs and Fried Pot Stickers. Also included is a cup of Steamed Rice and cup of Soup. The selections for the veggies were minimal compared to the previous establishment. The sauce and the meat selection available are the usual. All in all, being serviced as we were, is excellent and the food was pretty good. With all that said, I will give a solid 5 stars rating for GK Mongolian BBQ that not only the service was spot on, the food delicious and for the fact that they are happy to honor veterans everyday.with a discount. Thank you so much GK. This is great.

This is our new favorite restaurant! The food is amazing, the place is clean and the staff is super friendly. The owner, Tamba, greeted us with a hearty welcome and cheerful smile. The whole staff seemed to genuinely care about our experience and really put in a lot of effort. We had the Garlic Parmesan Wings, AfroRibs, and the Tanjier Stew with a Whole Fried Red Snapper. Fresh Hibiscus Tea to drink. The three plates easily will make six to eight meals. The portions are very generous. Seriously, I hope youre hungry. The wings were huge and crispy. The garlic concoction on them is fermented which imparts a unique flavor Ive not had before. I usually pass over chicken wings but my wife likes them, so we ordered them. I couldnt stop myself. Theyre so delicious. The ribs made me feel like Korean royalty. Gochujang and sesame combined with a West African spice palette. Tender juicy meat on the bone and once again, very generous portions. Finally, Tangier Stew with a Whole Fried Snapper. They mean whole... as in eyeballs, bones, tail, head, all of it. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, just perfect. The Tanjier Stew is a peanut based soup that is similar to Thai Satay, but its thinner and savory rather than sweet. Its paired with garlic jasmine rice. My wife is not much of a rice fan, yet couldnt put down the spoon. The hibiscus tea is sweet but also spiced. It is non alcoholic and served cold, but somewhat reminded me of mulled red wine or German Gluhwein.I highly recommend this place. I added a photo which was taken after we had already started eating so keep in mind the portionsare bigger than the photo. My wife held out her hand for scale.Well definitely be back!

Im normally not a fan of chain restaurants but this was a very pleasant surprise! My husband and I decided to try it after walking by and seeing the beautiful patio setting and very fresh and tasty-looking food - and we were not disappointed.Weve come here twice so far for dinner during the week of June 20th, soon after outdoor dining became allowed in the area. Although at the time of this review the Google page for this restaurant says that they do not offer dine-in, I can assure that is not the case. In fact, this restaurant has one of the nicest patio settings in Palo Alto so at the moment it might be my new favorite place for pandemic dining-out.The atmosphere is very pleasant and the decor is clean, modern, and a little beachy. Everything is well lit with fun string lights for the evening. There is plenty of patio space even for somewhat large groups and lots of small tables for couples. The staff are currently wearing masks and gloves, and seem to be taking the safety precautions very seriously. I saw several staff members change their gloves and our waiter, Danielle, informed us that she couldnt take our dirty dishes until the end, which made a lot of sense. (Thank you Danielle, you were very kind and helpful!)And most importantly, the food is just delicious! So far, weve tried a variety of fish tacos and fish & chips, as well as some desserts. The fish tacos have many options and are very flavorful and fresh. The fries include several options like sweet potato and seasoned. Today, we both ordered fish & chips and they were some of the best Ive ever had - and Ive had them before in Ireland! The fish is moist, creamy, and not overly fishy with a perfectly crisp coating. The slaw was very well seasoned and fresh. For dessert, I ordered the Hula Brownie Sundae which has a wonderful coconut flavor served with macadamia nut ice cream and delicious hot fudge. It tasted just like a Mounds candy bar in brownie form! Ill definitely be ordering it again. This restaurant is definitely worth a shot if you enjoy seafood that isnt too fishy, served with interesting flavors and fresh ingredients - in a pleasant, clean atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating.

Used to be great before COVID, until they got rid of the omelette line with Adrian (which was the best part) and the make-your-own-smoothie bar. None of the workers there speak English; I dont mean they speak it as a second language, they dont know the words for knife or cup and will just respond in Spanish, which makes it really hard to communicate if something runs out. They have huge, elaborate, in-your-face displays for Chinese New Year and Pride Month, okay great, but nothing for Memorial Day. Disappointing and has gone almost more downhill than SF, needs new management.

0 star for customer service.I am a long-time CPK patron and our family loves coming to CPK. On 4/12/15, however, we had the most unpleasant experience with CPK palo alto of my life.We arrived at the CPK at 1:30 and was told to put down our names and the wait time would be 15 mins. We sat by the front desk and waited patiently. At 2:10, I saw parties that arrived much much later than us were getting seated and went to the front desk and asked about our table. The girl calling the parties misspelled our name, but never called even the misspelled name, and skipped our table. So 15 parties after us got seated, and we were still sitting next to her waiting to be called. This girl with heavy eye makeup offered no apology whatsoever, and when the server (manager?) came to lead us to our table, she immediately started bad mouthing us in front of other customers loudly--to the point that I can hear her calling us out!!This is the most disgusting experience I have ever had in any restaurant, including fast food chains. CPK -- your customer service training is appallingly inadequate, and your front desk staff needs an attitude adjustment. I dont believe I have the appetite to return to CPK ever again.
Taro San Japanese Noodle Bar
717 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto, CA 94304, United States
I will definitely not recommend. Save your money and dine somewhere else. Plenty of other much better choices in the mall.- Food quality is very mediocre to say the best. We ordered the thin sliced beef udon and duck udon. There were very few pieces of duck meat and the meat was very dry. One of the worst duck slices I've tasted in Bay Area Japanese restaurants. Beef slices were also pretty thick.- I ordered truffle as addon to the duck udon. It cost 10 dollars. However when my udon was served, I tasted zero truffle flavor at all. I assumed they might have forgotten about the add-on so I waited for a while but no add-on truffle was served. So I asked the server about it. Server checked with kitchen and insisted the truffle was already in the noodle. There absolutely was no truffle flavor at all, from the first bite till I finished the whole bowl. I was super confused. So, either the truffle flavor was so weak and nowhere worth the insane 10$ price tag, or the kitchen made a mistake and didn't realize.- Expensive, expensive, expensive. As others have pointed out. We had two simple udons, a (invisible) truffle add-on, a desert and it cost almost $80 after tax and tip. With this price you can find many better udon restaurants with much better and more authentic quality.- The soup base. This is more of a personal taste so I won't fault the restaurant. The flavor and ingredients are more of a Japanese-American fusion type of taste. Nothing like what you normally find in Japan. The unusual cabbage and lemon in the soup base gave it a bit weird sweet/sour taste. In a nutshell, not worth it. You are paying a high premium for location and very mediocre food.
Rays Grill
750 Escondido Rd, Stanford, CA 94305, United States
Ive been to Rays a couple of times to hang out with a group of friends. The first time I was here, I ordered a burrito, and the second time I ordered carnitas tacos. Overall, I think I prefer the tacos, as they had a good balance of meat to wrap to sauce, but the burrito was just a touch on the oily side. I do still recommend the burritos; theyre quite filling and half of one can be saved for a subsequent meal.I always like getting tea here, because they have really nicd chamomile tea which really hits the spot on cold nights. As a plus, its close to a lot of graduate housing, has a lively atmosphere, and a diverse selection of cuisines to choose from (if that is a good or a bad thing, I cannot tell you). Also, the service is usually fairly quick and the staff are nice and efficient.A minus for this place is the pricing. I feel it could be more affordable, but I guess the restaurant has to match the cost of living in this area. Another thing is the lack of vegetarian options, particularly for tacos, which becomes annoying for vegetarian students on Taco Tuesday (its a special they run with discounted tacos).
P.F. Changs
900 Stanford Shopping Center Bldg. W, Palo Alto, CA 94304, United States
I was very excited to come to P.F. Chang's and try the food. I have heard great things of this restaurant, so on Friday, January 31, 2020 around 7:45pm I decided to stop by and order to go to celebrate my birthday. The waitress was very nice. I can't remember her name, but I remember she was very busy. I waited about an hour to get my order. While I was waiting for my order to be ready, a customer complained to the kitchen manager Luis about the waiting time. I knew coming here that my order was going to take a long time because the cooks make everything from scratch. What I was not expecting was to be traumatized by the kitchen manager. After the customer made the complaint, Luis, the kitchen manager went to the kitchen and started cussing at the cooks and throwing F words at them. Telling them that they were taking a long time to get the food ready. He then continued throwing trades on the floor. He looked like he was going crazy. The waitresses looked scared. I was super afraid too and just wanted to leave. I was about to run away when my waitress brought my order. She was trying to give me some fortune cookies while all of these was going on. Thankfully a waiter hold Luis the manager against the wall and told him to come down. Then Luis started laughing like nothing had happened. I left the place. I was super AFRAID and I will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE! If Luis is a manager, he should learn to talk to other employees and probably take anger management classes. If I was working for P.F. Chang's I would sue this company. Poor employees, they must really need this job to work under these conditions where their mental health is being affected. I would suggest the partner to look at the cámaras. The time was 8:45. Please if you are considering coming too this place, DON'T COME. The food is not worth it and you might get a trade thrown at you!
