Mahan Indian Restaurant Best Indian Food Best I...
110 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Just to give you some background, I dont actively get Indian food so my review probably isnt the best. I will most likely be reviewing it based on the taste of the food. So, I went on a Sunday around 1:30 PM. I was able to get their buffet for $15; however, if you wanted to have bottomless champagne, you would pay $25 instead. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a narrower, but cozier restaurant in comparison to others that I have been inside. The decor on the walls seem to be traditional Indian paintings -- though dont quote me on this since I am not very familiar with Indian culture. The cleanliness was great and I saw one of the waitresses clean up both the table and the booth when people were leaving. Even though the entire restaurant was about 1/2 full when I entered, the service was impeccable. It wasnt until the restaurant was full when I left that the service started to slow down -- though not to an egregious level. The food itself was good. Each of the items had flavor and they had a decent selection from which you could choose. Some of the meats (like the chicken) were a bit dry, but other meats (like the goat curry and chicken curry) werent. I also liked the sweetness of the cantaloupe that they provided; it wasnt too sweet, but also not too bitter. As for the salad, I wish they had some more premium ingredients inside of it like tomatoes and cucumbers rather than just romaine lettuce, but it could be that people picked them off already whenever they got the salad.Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant and was bloated (my own fault) when I exited. I would recommend trying this place as it is a good amount of food/variety for the price!

Shanghai Garden Restaurant
800 Alhambra Blvd #4436, Sacramento, CA 95816, United States
Ive heard about this place a time or two before, so I decided to check it out for lunch. I should have followed my first mind and went to Safeway for a deli sandwhich. Lets start with the parking, or lack there of! The parking situation was horrible. There is a very small shared lot that can be easily filled by Shanghai Garden customers alone. I had to circle the block three times to find a park near by. The restaurant itself was pleasant. I didnt take any pictures of the inside, because there was nothing photo worthy nor was there anything that stood out for me.The people were pleasant and greeted my upon entering. I noticed there was a special of the day and decided to try it. The special was crispy fried salt and peper chicken over steamed rice. I placed my order and waited patiently for my food. The order was filled quickly, and I was on my way back to the office.Upon further inspection of the food, I found it to be bland. I eat chinese food a lot, and this food tasted like it needed some seasoning. How does chinese food need seasoning? The breaded chicken was greasy and had no taste; not even salt. The vegetables were steamed appropriately, but they too lacked seasoning or taste. Overall, the meal tasted just like the white rice, BLAND! I tried to drown it in soy sauce, but hypertension is not something I want to play with, so I ended up eating only half of the meal.

Borneo Eatery
19 S Garfield Ave, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Located in Alhambra, California is the unique Borneo Kalimantan Cuisine Restaurant. It is near E Main Street and N Garfield Ave with free covered parking only a block away. The restaurant is humble but quaintly furnished with brightly colored door motifs and interesting knick-knacks depicting the Indonesian lifestyle. The restaurant is small but very clean and the staff make you feel immediately welcomed. As we reviewed the menu, we discovered that many of the food items look very familiar to other Asian dishes; however, after trying them, it was enjoyable to discover that their flavor profile are very different from those other dishes. We started off with the “Es Cendol” dessert drink and “The Tarik” iced milk tea with grass jelly. Both drinks were sweet and refreshing. Next, we tried the Roti Prata, which is advertised as a pan-grilled pancake with a Borneo inspired dipping sauce. The dipping sauce is similar to yellow curry but with a nice kick to it. The Roti Prata is light and flaky. We also ordered the Nasi Rendang. This is a savory beef dish where the beef has been braised in coconut milk, herbs and spices until it turns a rich dark brown loaded with flavor. This dish is served with tofu, boiled egg, coconut rice, and other tasty side items. Additionally, we tried the Kwe Tiau Goreng Borneo, a very popular fried flat noodle dish. All of the food that we tried was a unique and satisfying experience. This is an excellent place to try a cuisine that is refreshingly different from many other offerings in this area.

Gold Hibachi Buffet
2223 W Commonwealth Ave, Alhambra, CA 91803, United States
I enjoy eating at this place. What I enjoy is the buffet setup. It is the best Asian buffet from Orange county to Alhambra. Quality of food is good. Quantity is good. Choices is great if you enjoy seafood. I always have a full meal each time I go there. I would not recommend going there every day because there is just too much food to enjoy. The little dessert cakes is below my expectation but I can enjoy the few selection of ice-cream that is offered. bathroom cleanliness is also below expectation but when there is a large variety of food to choice, this over shadows my expectation of a buffet setup. for steak lovers, this is not the place to go. They always have that one dish of cut up steaks for Chinese broccoli, and that works for me. Thank you for keeping the restaurant going after the pandemic. It was most enjoyable when the restaurant was re-opened after the pandemic. Thanks

Panda Express

First time eating here. It was one of the worst experiences as a first time customer. One Asian lady was very rude and made me feel super uncomfortable ordering, especially since I had never been in there i didnt know what to order just yet. She put the wrong thing in my box even though I said no fried rice. And then she took it out while sighing heavily and was tapping her foot at me and started speaking to me so fast. I had a hard time understanding her and was trying my best to order something I wanted. The way she talked to me was very rude and everyone in the restaurant started staring at her and I. I finally told her within the few seconds I was being rushed to order, I am sorry but I am new here and I dont know what I am doing. Please hold on. She just stood there and waited again and this time she started speaking in another language to her co worker about me and what I was ordering very rudely. I will NEVER go back. Also the food was dry and was not good quality food. I can see from reading these other reviews on here that people have been having the same issues with this one specific employee there and the food as well. I wish I would have known that before I decided to try something new here. Panda Express, you need to check your staffing and management if you dont want to lose customers. Just saying.

Lunasia Dim Sum House
500 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Updated review:If you want authentic and good quality dim sum this is the place. Michelin awarded the restaurant Bid Gourmand and highly recommends its dim sum selections. It has been more than a year since we've been here. Once I heard the restaurant has reopened for dine in, we were amongst the first ones to come and indulged ourselves in the decadent dim sum and tea ritual. The restaurant puts in a good effort to provide a safe and comfortable dine in experience. All tables are insulated with wooden glass panels, providing a safe yet pleasant and comfortable dining environment. The tea selections are still enormous. I love the jasmine tea and the cast iron tea pot that keeps the tea hot. The dim sums we had were still very good. The only thing I noticed that on the steam turnip cake and steam noodle with shrimps were not as good as before the pandemic. The texture of the turnip cake very coarse and not as smooth as I had expected. Same for the noodle, the skins were think and not smooth. Maybe they need a bit more warming up as today is their first day of reopening. On the other hand, the steam BBQ bun and the sticky rice in lotus leaf wrap were divine. I didn't remembered these items tasted that good.Their dinner dishes are equally good. Now that they are open for dine in, we will be back to re-trying out their evening food.Unlike before the pandemic, parking is plenty in the parking garage.End of the update. One of three best dim sums in LA. Whenever I have friends from China, I would them here to get authentic Chinese dim sum. The dim sums here are comparable to the ones in HK. They also offer a lot more varieties then other dim sum house in LA. Must order their Bolo bun and cocktail bun. These are two of my favorite. The buns are so soft that just melt in your mouth. Should also try their dinner as well. They have many delicious dishes including their famous Alaska king crabs and Peking duck.

Ipoh Kopitiam
1411 S Garfield Ave #104, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
I tried the Hainan Chicken- they don’t have an only white meat option but it was deboned and tasty. Also tried the char kway teow (stir fried flat noodles). They were both good, service was decent for an Asian restaurant. I sat outside but since it’s on a big street, it was quite noisy with the cars going by. Good experience but I don’t think I’ll be yearning to come back anytime soon. Great place to try though!

I eat at A Waba Grill at least twice a week while Im out and about - like with most chains, the food is consistently good... But also, like with most chain restaurants, theres that one thats just consistently better than the others... This one... Is THAT one!Dont know what they do, cause I know theyre all using the same ingredients, if theyre just cooking with love or that passion stuff Gordon Ramsay is always prattling on about... But this Waba is just better, whatever theyre doing, keep it up and share it with the rest, gas is getting expensive I cant always drive to this location :-)This is a long winded way of saying compliments to the chef lol. Hope youre all having a wonderful day

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ai Wei Ju, a newly opened Beijing-style restaurant in Alhambra. Run by a friendly mother and son duo, this charming establishment offers a delightful experience that celebrates childhood favorites and authentic Chinese street food. The highlight of Ai Wei Ju is undoubtedly their jian bing, a traditional Chinese savory crepe that is a beloved staple of Beijing cuisine. Whether you prefer classic combinations or more adventurous flavors, Ai Wei Ju caters to all palates, ensuring that each bite is packed with deliciousness. Its evident that great care is taken in crafting these potstickers, making them a must-try for any visitor. The menu at Ai Wei Ju also includes jelly noodles, a dish that exemplifies the wonderful textures and flavors of Beijing cuisine. Sushi Caf
1221 Alhambra Blvd # 103, Sacramento, CA 95816, United States
John Birdman Joseph (FB)In celebration of enjoying the day of activation (my birthday), we all went down to Sushi Cafe last night. called in a reservation, got there, place was packed but they had my table. It was the evening to really have fun and enjoy their amazing food. Started off with plate of warm edamame--nice fat beans that just popped into a waiting palate. Immediately followed by 4 wonderful shrimp tempura along with their infamous oysters on a half shell with special sauce. All the girls keep checking on me to make sure my evening is the best, I said bring 4 more oysters with the special sauce. Served in a bowl of ice cubes, those 4 little pearls looking at me saying take my shell to your lips!!!!!!! Geez they just taste so good, chewing every bit to get all the flavors they offered. As I finished the oysters during which time I was enjoying my raspberry ice tea, out came the fabulously delicious Paradise Roll with extra sauce. Just melt in your mouth flavors of shrimp, crab, scallop and sauces all deep dried so there was that wonderful crunch. Also served with the roll were 4 more tempura shrimp, they are a nice size and that wonderful batter, you just cant make those at home!!!Now as I am working through the roll, downing the tempura shrimp, out comes the third order of oysters, OMG it is just heaven. The Paradise Roll stacked 4 layers high really should be shared, alas others ordered bento boxes so I was stuck with the whole rollI finally finished the roll, the tempura and the third order of oysters and the nice girl came by and I looked at her, stared into her eyes, smiled and said, one more order of oysters!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now everything is gone, just the fourth glass of rasebarrie ice tea, and I am given what I thought was the most delicious dessert one could have after a mind boggling dinner, the fourth order of oysters!!!!!!!r. As I slid the fourth and last oyster in my mouth and chewed savoring the exceptional quality of the oyster all I could do was have a big smile and say just fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!Once it was gone, my very cute waitress came by and said they had something special for me!!!!!! Ok then!!!!!!!!!!!! Soon out came this beautiful plate with amazing writing and the ever delicious Mochi ice cream balls. How much better could it get. Thank you girls, it was the most wonderful celebration of the day!!!!!!! I will be back!!! And yes everyone, I do enjoy my food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
