Golden China Restaurant
9018 Venice Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Golden China restaurant is a hidden gem in the Culver City area. Those who know about it frequented often, those who dont are missing out big time. Theyre open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., so it makes it a perfect spot for lunch dinner and everything in between. They not only have a full menu for those that eat pork chicken and beef, they also have a completely vegan menu you just have to ask for it if thats what youre looking for. We were shocked by how quickly the food was made, and how flavorful it was. For those of us that are health conscious its a night its nice to note that they do not use MSG in their food. Its a quintessential Los Angeles restaurant, brandishing graffiti on the glass, clean bathrooms, and old school elders cooking in the kitchen. Its also right across the street from a Ross and a Starbucks so you can get your coffee fixed and your shopping fix done right after lunch. Personally, my family and I chose items off the vegan menu and they were delectable. We started off with the Mongolian beef, Veggie Chow Mein, Vegan Orange Chicken, Fried Mushrooms and steamed Brown rice. We ate to our hearts content until there was nothing left but a remnant of sauce at the bottom of the plates. Definitely recommend for anyone itching for some authentic delicious Chinese food.
Wokcano
6000 Sepulveda Blvd Suite 1161, Culver City, CA 90230, United States
Large group from work went for dinner tonight at the Wokcano located at the Westfield Mall in Culver City. We ordered a lot of appetizers and entrees from the main menu. Overall, the food was ok. I have eaten better Sushi and Asian food elsewhere but this was not bad for a chain restaurant located in a mall. I personally wouldnt go back there but dont mind recommending it to others who enjoy modern Asian cuisine.
5i Indochine Cuisine
5407 Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230, United States
Very affordable restaurant with a large Asian menu. Our bill was $13 for two entrees! Its a small place tucked between two bars. It must get busy because there was a waiting list that was full. We ordered to go, it took about 10 minutes to get our food. Its on my way home so I know I will be back at some point.
Bang Bang Noodles
9355 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
The hand pulled noodles were the star of the meal, and if it wasnt for the consistency and taste of the noodle themselves, this would have been a a zero. The noodles themselves were quite good - unevenly thick (this is good for hand pulled!) - perfect width for transporting sauces and meats from the dish to your mouth. The sauces, for the most part, were overly salty and the saltiness completely overpowered the dishes, minus the dry cumin dish, which was nicely seasoned. We ordered the entire menu and besides the one soup, all were dry. The meat that is offered (which by the way costs extra, AND the cashier failed to mention that) with the dishes was a mixed bag. The sliced beef was quite good, the lamb was pretty good in one dish, but bland and overcooked in the other dish. The ground pork was freezer burned and or just complete dried out. The meat in the dumplings and wontons we had were 100% previously frozen, and their consistency was fall apart when bitten and took on a similar consistency as the ground pork in the seasame noodle dish. I would go with the wontons over the dumplings, which held up better but the sauce was nothing to write home about - possibly even overly oily. The soup base faired better by bringing the flavors together without overpowering others. I guess the ... Blandness of the soup helped? The portion size was... Fairly small for the price, especially when you add the meat, but I guess for downtown Culver its the norm. It should fill you up, the noodles are very hearty.I guess the worst part : asking for a tip is the norm now, but they dont even bring it to you. I mean... Come on.I really wanted to enjoy this place, but I cannot believe anyone who has actually had legit hand pulled noodles thinks that this place is good. Really sad, honestly. With a revamp of the sauces and perhaps cooking technique, this place should be able to thrive in a wonderful setting.

Panda Express
3812 Midway Ave, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
This specific place has rude employees. I had a bad experience during my visit to this Panda Express. I went in with my family to eat and while I was ordering I had difficulty to hear this lady (Carolina) and had to ask her multiple times to repeat what she was saying to me. I understand she was wearing a face mask and maybe that was the reason I couldn't understand her, but she got mad and gave me a bad attitude right away. (She was never kind or welcoming in any form since the beginning). When it was time to pay I also asked her for extra fortune cookies (6—> to be specific) since my mom and I ordered 3 two entree plates, 1 three entree plate and 2 kid meals. She refused to give more fortune cookies because she said “you only get one with a plate.”So I asked for the manager and he came to us. (Kevin) I told him I asked the girl for 6 cookies and he said he couldn't give more cookies because I already had 4 with my four plates. He excused himself saying that they always give just one cookie with one plate and he couldn't give me more. Which is weird, mean and unfair. My family and I are really Panda Express lovers and we always go to different Panda Express locations and we never ever have had lived a situation like this before. It's so heartbreaking to see this kind of employees working at one of our favorite restaurants.I can't understand why she was acting so rude to me and to my mom. She honestly didn't offered us good costumer service. Her service was awfully disrespectful. Arguing to us infront of so many people. The manager (Kevin) took her to the back. Also, one more point. At this store they didn't have the kung pao chicken ready. They prepared our 4 plates with the chow main and rice and left them on the shelf for minutes until the kung Pao chicken was ready. When we got our plates, the sides(chow mein & rice) were cold since the plates were sitting there waiting to be fill in with the entrees. Which is not fair.1.The dinning room was dirty and the trash cans were full.2. Empty pans between 3pm to 4pm3. Entrance doors (glass) were dirty.4. Kung pao chicken and chow mein did not taste good. These were not flavorful. .5. Women's restroom was dirty.
Swanya Thai Cuisine
4322 Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City, CA 90230, United States
This restaurant has tasty food. But unfortunately, our service was very poor. I had reserved a table for five, and we arrived a few minutes early and sat down. There were two waters already at the table, but no one came to our table, let alone bring us three more waters or ask if we wanted them! Menus were already there at each place setting, but no server appeared to take our order. I had to call someone over! I had to ask for service! This is not right. As soon as people sit down at a table, a server should appear to greet them. It was not that crowded, and the restaurant is very small. I was really shocked at this poor service. We finally got appetizer orders placed, and those were brought out without too much delay. When the main course meals came, they brought three, then one more, and then one more. I don't think that's right, either. All the meals should come at the same time. This is a small restaurant, as I said, and it was not that crowded, so there is no reason we should've had any problem. Perhaps they were shortstaffed, but someone should've come to our table right away, even if just to tell us that we might have to wait a little bit for more service. The customer always comes first! I hope their service improves.
Emerald Thai Cuisine
9315 Venice Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Ordered Tom Khar and Green Curry to-go.The service was excellent and friendly. My to-go order was ready when I arrived, I was offered a free Thai Tea, and they made sure to enclude utensils and napkins for me.While the flavor of the Tom Khar and Green Curry wasnt bad, I thought both dishes had too much coconut milk, especially the Tom Khar.Ive tried a lot of Thai places and find that many places dont put enough coconut milk. Surprising to find a place that does the opposite.I also ordered both dishes medium spicy. I was nervous about what their version of medium spicy would be since Ive tried some places where medium is barely edible, but both turned out so mild I could have gone with the hottest option.I would rate it 3 stars, but they were so nice I gave an extra star for service.
LemonShark Pok Culver City
10601 Washington Blvd Suite 102, Culver City, CA 90232, United States
Fun fact: Lemonshark was co-founded by former Wallflowers bandmember, Tobi Miller. Now on to the actual review.Parking:I didnt park to get here, but im sure theres residential parking to the east. Or if youre shopping at Culver Center, I bet you can sneak over to Lemonshark after going to Best Buy, you sneaky little sneak, you. I wont tell on you, dont worry.Food:The freshest bowl of poke I have had. Im comparing it mostly to Poke Me, Nishi, Mainland Poke Shop, Poke Bar, and Sweetfin. I got shrimp, spicy tuna, salmon, with a bed of brown rice and spring mix + a bunch of topping. The toppings that stood out to me were the seaweed salad and the mango. The mango was at peak ripeness. Overall, this the type and quality of food that has you feeling nourished and revived after eating it.Service:The fellow at the counter was so kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Genuinely top-notch service.Price:Competitive with other places Ive been to. For this level of freshness, the price is solid, for me.Recommend? Yes. Ill be going back here.
