Crazy RockN Sushi - La Puente

I decided to give this place a try with a friend after trying one of their other locations a while back in Hollywood. We got there when doors opened at 11:30 AM, and was offered to dine in, but their patio was not open, so we ended up having to order to go since we did not feel safe to eat indoors. They said that they didn't have enough staff to open the patio, which is understandable, but I thought that during this pandemic that they would end up seating people outside first before inside. We did attempt to take a seat, but I still personally didn't feel safe enough to eat inside. I believe overall the food is decent, but the person who was helping us take our order, just didn't really seem to really care. It was like well you order if you want, if not I'm going to do my own thing. Even when our order was ready, the person knew we were waiting outside, but no one came out to let us know our order was ready. This was my first experience at this place, but it makes me not want to visit again.FoodThe food was decent though. The salmon sashimi we ordered tasted fresh, the rolls were decent, I have just one thing to say about the sauce. Those things are HARD to open. It is the sweet sauce you put on your rolls, along with the spicy mayo. All of the small packets we had, it was impossible to open. Note that you must also ask for Wasabi. Also the Alaskan, and Dragon roll, just to note has a LOT of rice.Overall it was just a mediocre experience for me personally. I would have definitely gave it at least 4 stars if not for my ordering experience. If you do come, just remember that they do have a Happy Hour that is BOGO 50% off, which I had to search myself. Their Togo chopsticks are pretty good quality, far better then other restaurants I've been to, but that alone will not get me to come back. I hope others will have a better experience.

Worst waba experience EVER! I went from loving this place to not wanting to come back! Decided to try out this location since I was in the area and it was a complete Inconvience for me. For starters DIANA! messed up on my order and tells me theres no onions when unless they changed the menu they always ask if you want onions with your bowl. Anyways I ordered what I normally get and paid 5 something for rice and carrots!! When I can make that at home obviously I wanted chicken to go with it. I ended up driving all the way back and this other girl helps me out and I explained to her what I wanted. she did NOT apologize instead she points at the menu and goes over it with me like Im an idiot! I eat here all the time I order the same damn thing I know the menu! She then asks if I wanted a bowl of meat which was going to come out to 4 something on top of the 5 I already spent!!! I just wanted the half chicken that was suppose to come with it, instead she charges me almost 3$ for a tiny cup thats not even full. 8$ for a bowl I didnt even want anymore! Please retrain the la puente staff, I wont be coming back!

I would say no stars but we need to add in order to post....as we walked in the girl at front was friendly the waiting bench was clean she said 20 min wait I was happy it was only about 5 min we were seated about 25 min later they took our order..... Close to an hour later our coconuts were brought out and our sushi was cold, after all 3 of my kids finished their meal and were ready to leave .... Our waitress FAVI never came to check on us... We needed straws and napkins, We asked a nice server if he can at least bring us tostadas and more drinks n he paged her on the radio and she came out with tostadas but never came back with our drinks.. We really wanted more michis, We asked the host up front to ask for our bill..... Since she never came to pick it up we assumed we needed to pay at the bar being the first time we were there and very excited to try something new and recommended we are not picky nor annoying type of customers but theirs a difference between bad service and busy service... It was not backei up like she mentioned the guy at the bar took the bill and money n handed to her so she can ring us up... I waited at my table for my change I can care less for 28cents she gave me the dollars change but not the cents amount and I really thought that was rude being the fact we had horrible service and we seen a family next to us had amazing service by som1 else I was upset.... If shes stealing change from guest I wonder if she steals from the restaurant.... She still had the nerve to stand next to me wile I was getting ready to leave to c if i leave a tip... Uhhh no women u shouldnt be standing around, start cleaning the table her hands were in her pocket with to much time in her hands... Working in the restaurant industries I have always left tip good or bad service to make them try harder but our experience here was not good and the food wasnt that good either #SorrynotSorry

Been going here for 20 years ever since I was a little kid, saw that they were closed on May 30th and sign said they would be back on the 1st of June. Today is the 2nd and I went back expecting the yummy food I always get. Saw it was all nice and cleaned up in there but the food looked different. Took my food home and it did not taste the same. Heard they are under new owners now and that the old owner retired. I'm so sad because the food was so good but now it's different and doesn't taste the same. Fried rice tasted like cardboard and the chow mien was hard. I'm so sad they have new owners now, please just get back the old recipes they were so good.

The hubby and I try to go out every Friday and try something new. The pressure was on because it was my turn to pick. I had no idea what to choose! I knew I wanted something close and something some what healthy. Low and behold I go onto Google and try to find a spot with good ratings and ended up coming across this place. I was skeptical about all the all star reviews but that certainly peaked my interest. We get to the restaurant and I didnt know what to pick! So I shyly asked our waiter what she recommended and she said the seafood mocojete. Oh my stars!!! Best best thing I have ever had!! It took a little while for the food to come but it was totally worth the wait and price. This place is a seafood joint so you are gonna pay a bit but the food was so flavorful and fresh its worth every penny. Its a whole in the wall but dont let that turn you away. This place has quickly become a favorite ours. We definitely will be back ?

Bay Pok La Puente

My daughter ordered via Uber Eats, but the way her order was prepared is clearly the restaurant's fault. We were delivered a completely incorrect order. We ordered two pokè bowls, one of them being all tuna. We recieved only one bowl with what looks like the kitchen sink of pokè, we don't even know what. Maybe it's octopus with some saucy citrus, corn, and soy beans? Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. It was unappetizing and it's not what a pokè bowl should be expected to be. We are also missing other items, and now my two kids can't eat whet they expected for dinner. It seems like they just threw whatever they had left 20 minutes before closing. Never again. Yes, we are hangry.

The food is good and most of the people who work here are nice. However the older gentleman with the cap who seems to be in charge is rude, a coward, and a racist. He messed up my order and when I politely asked him to correct it, he threw the plate down to the side and called me a racial slur for Chinese people in Spanish to one of his other co workers. Unfortunately I dont think he realized that even though I was Asian, I can still speak and understand Spanish. Funny how when you pretend not to speak a language how much you can ascertain about peoples true natures. Ironic too, as with him being a minority himself, he should have understood and respected other races better. As a man, if he had a problem with me, he should have said it to my face instead of calling me something hes thought I didnt understand to one of his co workers. In the end, I stayed calm, smiled at him, kept a close eye on him as he cooked my food and ultimately got my new plate, as I had already waited too long in line to just give him the satisfaction of storming off. However it will be my last time going here. From reading other reviews below, it seems as though Im not the only one who feels this way about the service here. I would suggest everyone else try Pepes Mexican food as an alternative. As a veteran who has fought for this country, I feel deeply let down that I come home to a country where I am racially prejudiced against (ironically by someone who speaks even less english than me lol)

Happy Wok

I love Chinese food and mostly go for takeout since my partner isnt into it. I was headed home from the Walmart Neighborhood Market, which took me longer than expected, so I stopped at about 1:30 p.m. Only three people were ahead of me, but while I waited, about another ten showed up in line behind me. The line moved quickly. My order consisted of fried rice with orange chicken and barbecue pork. The portion was more than generous, easily enough for two people. The barbecue pork was a standout, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The fried rice was also delicious. However, the orange chicken, while generally good, had a slightly dry and fibrous bite towards the end.I most definitely will go back when Im in the area.I downrated the atmosphere because if youre going to eat inside, you are sitting right next to the people waiting in line. Would it be better to rope them off so they stand closer to the counter?

Taco Del Rio
445 S Azusa Ave, La Puente, CA 91744, United States
THE BEST TACO PLACE IN L.A.Ive been eating here for nearly 20 years. Can you believe it? The same guys working here then are still there. The tacos are big, packed full of meat, cheese, onions, cilantro, cabbage and salsa. The burritos are the same. They offer asada, carnitas, barbacoa, tongue, and chicken. I usually either get the carnitas or asada. Asada is definitely the most popular, and it isnt fatty or greasy like some places. The carnitas is more hit-or-miss and Id ask to look at it before ordering. Sometimes it isnt popular and itll sit there and get dry. Sometimes it can be greasy, so I check before I get, and when I do get not-old, not-greasy carnitas it is heaven in my mouth. There is the option to order food regular which is as I describe, or extra which includes guacamole and sour cream. I do not recommend the extra. The good is wonderful as is, and the guacamole and sour cream tend to overpower the other flavors. Plus a burrito that is extra is almost inedible as it is so big around it barely can be contained in the tortilla and is more work to keep it together while eating it. Most people prefer the salsa rojo (red), which is very good red sauce. I prefer the salsa verde (green). It is more subtle, more tomatillo-ey, but still tasty. Either will work and the rojo isnt bitter of overly hot, and so works as a main choice with verde as a backup. This place is almost always busy. Saturday evenings are the worse, where youll sometimes wait over 30 minutes just to order. Once ordered, the food is pretty quick, but youll be standing there for a while. It isnt totally bad, as you can make friends with others in line knowing you have something in common: you both love Taco Del Rio.

I always have the occasional craving for Chinese food. My go-to order is Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, and BBQ Pork. I usually go to a different place that Ive always had a soft spot for because of their delicious BBQ Pork. However, I always wondered if this place also had good food.I must say, first I was impressed over how fast the service was. It got even better once I saw the good portion size of what I ordered. I got a combo with two sides and two chicken egg rolls, all for a decent price. Personally, I think its a good deal because of the size and it was 100% worth it once I actually tasted the food. The chow mein was delicious. The orange chicken pieces were big AND they werent dry (like other places Ive tried) !! The chicken egg rolls were also just as tasty. Ive never been more happy to say that this is going to be my go-to Chinese food spot!
