Talay Thai Restaurant
70065 CA-111 #1, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
This is a little hole in the wall style Thai place. We came here for a late lunch and the restaurant was basically empty. We grabbed some soju cocktails - the Bangkok Lover and the Thai Arnold Palmer. They were pretty expensive and had pre mixed cocktail mix in them. I probably would have gone for an Asian beer instead because they had a good variety. My partner did not enjoy the Arnold Palmer and did not finish it. There weren’t many staff around so our server also made the drinks and the service was pretty slow. For appetizers we started with the Thai dumplings which were pretty good. We then had the Pad Se-Ew and the Talay special seafood dish. The Pad Se-Ew was authentic and delicious. The Talay special seafood dish however was quite underwhelming and was poorly presented (stew in tin-foil). It was packed with seafood however the sauce was not very tasty and it was $30. The portions were very large so an appetizer and two entrees was more than enough for the two of us. We did not have room for dessert. Overall I would not recommend this place. Hole in the wall Thai food should be authentic, tasty and fairly cheap and this, for the most part, did not check those boxes.

Standard chain Asian food. The service is spotty, especially when its not busy. The restaurant needs a good refresh in the decor department.
Panda Express
34151 Monterey Ave Ste 105, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
Update 2022/08/25:Just an observation. This place must have lousy (or lazy) management. Several times Ive been here, their ice machine has been down for a long time. More often though, the iced tea dispensers are empty; when I asked a staff member, she looked in the container and said they were out. Duh! Sort of like the time they were out of fortune cookies. Nothing critical but you have to wonder what the manager is actually doing to manage the business.Sorry, but Im going to try another Panda in the area, and I have several to choose from. Im tired of not getting stuff at a place that I am used to at every other Panda across the country.Update 2022/08/19:New employee; small portions. No ice.Update 2022/08/18:Pretty much the same as usual except I was there at lunchtime and it was a lot more busy. There were 4 or 5 people ahead of me waiting for their entre to make it to the serving line because they ran out of their most popular dishes. I ordered Spring Rolls, Kung Pao and Orange Chicken. Unfortunately the Kung Pao only had a few small pieces of meat and were mostly vegetables and a meager serving portion. But it was good anyway. The Orange Chicken pieces were larger than normal but fresh and well cooked. The Spring Rolls were fresh and crispy. This place is still my standby place for a quick meal.Update 2022/06/16:Same as usual. Good, fresh food at 5 pm. Spring rolls were crispy and hot. Fast service during light customer traffic period. Tea was good but ran out as I got a refill to go. Today I got Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, and spring rolls. Everything was fine and as I was expecting. Server was not stingy with the portions as she was the last time. Definitely Ill be back soon.Definitely one of the better Pandas around. Lots of parking. Clean dining room. The service is very good. The food is average. Today the Orange Chicken (which I got) was close to being mushy from having sat in the warming counter for a while. The only thing I dont like are the gristles that originated from the factory. The Mushroom Chicken looked sticky and gelatinous. The Green Bean Chicken looked ok but the large slices of onion looked barely cooked. The Kung Pao Chicken (which I got) looked good and it was very good - - unless you like it VERY red pepper hot, go with something else. I enjoy it being very hot. No gristles in this chicken. Very important: their fresh brewed tea was full. I hate when they dont monitor it and I have to wait for them to brew up a new batch. However, their tea is absolutely one of the best Ive found in any restaurant.Bottom line: Ill go back here again, and if something I want looks like it has been sitting a long time, Ill ask them for a fresh batch. Ive done that before and they are happy and very quick to make me a fresh batch. Very good customer service here that reflects very good management.Update 2/23/22: I just finished dinner there and it was great. Happily, it seemed like their portions were back to their prepandemic generosity. Im stuffed and happy!
To Go Sushi
40101 Monterey Ave # G2, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
Simply stated, this is the best sushi value I have ever experienced. My wife and I have probably eaten restaurant sushi one-hundred and fifty times, and this is the best. Now, grant, 3/4 of those were belt sushi to get a good deal, but THE DEALS HERE are pretty similar while the quality equals or exceeds the chef sushi meals. The fish was swimming within the last two days, maybe yesterday. The portions are surprisingly generous, and the owners are amazingly happy and kind. There is NOTHING to detract from the experience of To Go Sushi, except possibly that you really DO have To Go to it. If you live in Rancho Mirage and love sushi, lucky you. If youre visiting in Palm Springs and want to go up from grocery store sushi without shortening your vacation as a budgetary plan, go to this restaurant. And leave a GENEROUS tip. Youll still be way ahead of the Palm Canyon Drive crew.

Sushi on the Run
40101 Monterey Ave # G2, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
Ive been going to Sushi on the Run since the first week it opened and have enjoyed everything Ive tried so far. Their specialty sushi rolls are inventive while delicious (The Arnold Palmer and Citrus Fresh are my current favs). Im a fan of Salmon, and I loved that their menu has many different salmon options and combinations. The fish is really fresh, and the presentation of their garnishes are really nice. The owners are friendly and have great suggestions if you are looking to try something new. My father tried the Teriyaki chicken bowl and said that it had the perfect amount of Teriyaki sauce for the serving. It came with some dumplings, and he gobbled those fast saying they were delicious. I also like that there is a variety of beverages to choose from American soda/pop and some Asian drinks, like the delicious Oolong tea. The space is cute with the wood panels and bright lighting and their quick service areas are clean and organized. Im a fan and will keep trying everything until Ive completed the entire menu.
RM Coffee
70020 CA-111 suite B, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
I'm torn. So, this was a very small bakery but the pastries all looked delicious! I ordered a dozen for a client meeting and it was about $100. I keep trying to rationalize how expensive a dozen pastries could be and no matter what I do, I'm still shocked. Some of them were just chocolate croissants for $6-$7 dollars…it was very expensive for a dozen pastries. Porto's Bakery has amazing, delicious pasties made same day and if I spend $100 I'm walking out with multiple boxes of pastries and maybe a cake for incredible quality. Anyway, I had a coffee which I anticipated would be delicious and I didn't like it at all. It didn't taste like Starbucks burnt coffee but it just didn't have good flavor. As far as the pastries, they were beautiful but I can't speak to the actual flavor and quality since I didn't try one.I think this may be a really great spot if you want to walk in for a nice pastry but if you're buying in bulk, it's going to get expensive and fast. I'd like to say you can sit and enjoy your coffee and pastry but I didn't see much seating (there's a small seating area in the back which still works) or work on the aesthetics here. Basically, it's a grab and go sort of spot. Again, beautiful looking pastries - I just personally cannot rationalize the cost. If you want to splurge on yourself, I say go for it I'm sure the pastries are delicious!

The best Asian restaurant in Palm Springs. A must-visit if you want something different than barbecue or burger place
Shabu Shabu Zen and Sake Bar
F, 71680 CA-111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
Wow best Asian restaurant in Palm Springs??? I think so!10/10 on food quality. Ingredients and even the drinks were top notch. I got a variety of wine and then got sake. It was warmed in a bowl of hot water to bring it to temperature and not dilute the flavor.Meat quality was exceptional and the hamachi was super fresh.Service was 11/10We were so happy with dinner we made a reservation for tomorrow (my wife and I are on vacation here).
360 Sports
32-250 Bob Hope Dr, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, United States
This is the 3rd time weve eaten at 360 sports - or should I say we TRIED to eat there. This time we arrived about 4:30 p.m. Place mostly empty. Got water and a pretzel in fairly short order. Then.........crickets......our waiter disappeared! When he finally showed up again - he said something like, oh, I was out. Out?Ordered 2 hot dogs and a Reuben sandwich. 25 minutes later - no food. Manager types (maybe 25 year olds) sitting around chatting each other up - but obviously no one is minding the kitchen. Husband finally flags probably a 20 something young woman and tells her our problem. By then the waiter had reappeared and they marched off to the kitchen.Another 5-10 minutes goes by.......food arrives. Is it hot? No, french fries are warm like theyve been sitting around for a while. I ordered GRILLED onions and peppers with my hot dog which is one of the choices. What did I get? Not grilled onions and a side dish of some sort of pickled peppers? Not sure. This was the Last straw. We decided to leave.....had to go find our bill and the manager young woman said - when I told her our food/french fries were not hot - well, thats not true I watched them just take them out of the fryer! So you are telling me NOTHING had been cooked from our order until you went to the back and watched them then cook it? After 1/2 hour?We shouldnt have paid for the pretzel but we did.The other experiences we have here are also for sub-par food and bad drinks. On this occasion we were going to go over to The Pivate Lounge - but, nope.......forget this place. Agua Caliente is no place to eat, drink, or do anything else but lose your money.
