I Dumpling
2660 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
Authentic chinese food, although the waiting was long and the service will be considered rude for some Western folks. Keep in mind thats how a typical local Chinese restaurant would serve you of youre in China and just be cool with their attitude. Some food options might be bizarre for non-Asian Americans that I‘d recommend to try include the pig ears, the beef tendon noodle soup, amd the five flavor spicy beef. Enjoy your visit :)

Panda Express

Today i order my food on their website and payed for it, to be picked up 1:30 after, and when i got there, there was a huge line, only 10 people inside at a time, door must remain close for COVID19 safety precautions; anyways i waited outside until it was my turn, when i went in my food was not ready. So the boy “cashier” and also servant told me that i had to wait 5 more minutes which end up being 20 more minutes. So i am there watching everything; the boy “cashier” put on gloves to pick up cash and with the same gloves picks up the knife to chopped the teriyaki chicken when he is not in the cash register, so when is time to fill up my “a la cart” items he graves the containers (boxes) and puts his hands —with dirty gloves— inside the container and now i had a problem with that; so i quickly ask this other girl, working there to tell him to use new containers because he had touched those from the in side with contaminated gloves. BUT the girl tells me that is imposible to not do any health violations when there is so many customers. And to add to my embarrassment she stars telling this other customer what i was asking for as if i ask for something unlawful. Instead of taking my side and train this boy (employee) she got defensive and tried to make me feel like a jerk for not wanting food in a contaminated food containers; i am definitely not coming back to this place again. What ever happened to good customer service.

Teriyaki Madness
875 Middlefield Rd, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
I ordered spicy teriyaki chicken bowl to go, and got regular one instead. I was very hungry so the food was good to me, but there was not much sauce on the chicken. The staff was polite! The wait for the food was quick, but they got my order wrong, which was saddening.I didnt check it while I was there and got home before opening it, but what I ended up with was good. If I would have checked my order before leaving Im sure it would have been resolved appropriately because the staff seemed very nice.Just make sure you check what you ask for!

Sakura Teppanyaki and Sushi
2198 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
We come to Sakura a lot, and generally speaking, I really like this place. Tonight's experience was awful customer service wise.First thing that was odd was each ordered a fried rice- and one was at least 1/3 bigger. See picture. (And my friend had already eaten a lot of her when I took it). Not a big deal to me though.Normally we sit in the hibachi tables, but today we decided to sit on the other side because we didn't want hibachi. The service was very slow, still, not a big deal. My friend ordered two rolls and a fried rice. I ordered a salad, beef nigiri and a fried rice. We waited at least 30 minutes for anything to arrive. They brought out my friends rolls first. She tried to wait for one of my items to come out to start eating but was starving. After another 15 minutes of waiting I asked the waiter if he could check on any of my food, at least bring the little salad. He didn't come back for another 10 minutes, then finally came out with my salad, and then shortly after our rices. At this point my friend was pretty much done with her meal and I still hadn't gotten my main. I again asked the waiter to check on my nigiri. He said barely said ok, then went back to what he was doing (didn't see him check anything) waited another 10 mins and asked again. Still nothing. He then came back 5 minutes later with our bill. I said I still haven't gotten my food?? And he took the bill and walked away. I asked again for the 4th time, this time pretty irritated and he walked to the counter and grabbed it and it's clear it had been sitting there the whole time. He dropped it with no apology. It was cold.We flagged someone down and asked if he was the manager to which he said yes (tall guy, black button down) and we explained what happened and his response was “oh that dish is just served cold”, again no apology. (It's also not served cold lol). I responded saying it had been sitting up there the whole time and our waiter tried to bring us the bill before I had even gotten it! And his response “oh I'll talk to him”, and walked away. I ate it quickly and then asked “the manager” as he was walking by for the bill and he looked at me and pretended to not hear me! I don't think he was actually the manager because as a manager myself in a customer based industry, this kind of treatment would never fly.I understand Fridays are busy but we were pretty chill the whole time until the end when it was clear our waiter wasn't going to bring out my food no matter how many times we asked, but this experience was pretty ridiculous.

Chef Chens
820 Veterans Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
Quick and satisfying! I went for lunch here today. Some lunch specials are only $5. Since the prices were so reasonable, I decided to splurge and get the Combination Seafood Lunch Plate. $6.75 plus tax ($7.40 total) for shrimp, fish, scallops, etc. It was a generous serving of food which also comes with your choice of rice, appetizer, and soup (if you eat in the restaurant). Quality of the food was quite good, and not greasy at all. I think what was amazing was how quickly the food is prepared. You order, pay and within 3-5 minutes its ready. While I was eating, take out orders and other patrons had their food also in a few minutes. Seriously, even if you had a takeout order, theres no need to call ahead. Summary: If you need a quick lunch place that is very reasonably priced with good quality, come to Chef Chens. Ill definitely be back to try some of the other menu items. And yes, they take credit card too.

Little Madfish
1021 El Camino Real, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
Little MadFish has taken the prize for worst restaurant experience Ive had in a long time. Yesterday was my birthday and my husband and I decided to try them out since wed wanted to for awhile. My husband calls them on the phone to place an order for pickup. He gives the woman our order and she repeated it back correctly. We head to the restaurant, my husband gets the food which is sealed in a bag.Once we get home I open the bag and find that half of the order is incorrect. We had ordered two lunch bento boxes. My husbands order was correct and included chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, and an avocado roll. My box which was supposed to include 2 salmon avocado rolls was completely wrong. I ended up with salmon teriyaki somehow.I call the restaurant to let them know the order was incorrect. The man I speak to on the phone seems confused by the situation. He finds my order and proceeds to tell me that my order had 2 salmon teriyaki. I told him that it was incorrect and that the woman we placed the order with confirmed my box for 2 salmon avocado rolls. He eventually concedes this point after the woman confirms that the order was put in wrong.I told him that my husband is going to bring the food back. The guy tells me I can make your box. I requested that the order be remade entirely. My husband had hot food so it would be cold by the time he made it there and returned. They absolutely refused to do so. I had to explain the food would be completely cold and that this was their mistake. He still refused to do so.My husband, hearing me argue told me to just request a refund from them and that he would go to return the food. I request the refund. The man on the phone says he can only refund me for the incorrect box and not the entire order. I am flabbergasted. At this point he not only has refused to remake my order but now is refusing to refund me entirely. He told me that he would have to escalate the situation to his manager who was not in and I would have a response in 2-3 business days. I argue my case yet again. I told him this is the first time we have ordered from them and this has been an awful experience. We were clearly at a stalemate since he decided not to fulfill either request. My husband arrives at the restaurant to give back the food. The man begins arguing with him too. My husband demands the refund and after about 10 minutes of back and forth conversation finally gets the man to give the refund. I dont understand why they couldnt have fixed this up front. This is a new level of horrible service from restaurant. DO NOT GO HERE. The staff is rude and unhelpful. They dont care about customer experience. This is the first and last time I will order from them.

Quickly
300 Walnut St, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
Where do I start? This is by far the worst that I have EVER been treated, worst service, worst drinks, worst everything. Definitely wont be coming back. First gave me the wrong drink, and I just let it go and asked for a new one. But when they started giving my daughter dirty looks and handed me the drink back I realized that they had put a ton of bobba when I had asked for none. When I asked who was in charge, they told me that nobody was. One of the girls seemed under an influence of some sort. She refused to give me her name but I thought I heard jocelyn from a coworker which was also under an influence. He had earrings and was on his phone the whole time. I hope you hire more responsible people next time around. Another thing, you should consider a deep clean every once in a while, my daughter found a fruit fly in her drink. Another reason we wont be coming back.

Green Leaf Bistro

Yum! Green Leaf Bistro - Premium salad packed with delicious savory Asian flavors! I ordered ribeye steak with garlic noodles(as the base) and all the standard salad stuff: cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, bean sprouts, pickled ginger, cilantro, mint, Thai basil, jalapeño, fried shallots, and peanuts. I added sautéed mushrooms and took the recommended Chili chop sauce (spicy, fresh garlic, ginger, Thai chili, lemon juice, pineapple, whiskey, and spices). Wow!Appearance: 9.6; Taste: 9.6; Texture: 9.6; Temperature: 9.6; Overall Impression: 9.8This a take-out restaurant, so order. Pick up and enjoy!Ray, the owner, helped me navigate the menu since this was my first time. Here are the steps I used to get an outstanding meal!Step_1: choose your base: garlic noodlesStep_2: main entree: ribeye steakStep_3 toppings: standard ( “the works”) + one premium add - sautéed mushroomsStep_4: sauces/dressing: chili chop and Cajun garlic (I liked the chili chop best, both are great!)

Sushirrito
2053A Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063, United States
*The hottest spot in FiDi*If youre undecided about going Latin or Japanese for lunch, Sushirito solves that dilemma in a nifty burrito. Youve got to plan ahead though. The line out the door starts as early as 11am and I usually stroll over around 11:30am to wait in line for about 10-15min. There are less than 10 rolls and my favorite is the Salmon Samba. The creaminess of the teri-mayonesa nicely contrasts against the vinegary cucumber and agave soy king salmon. It comes without any sides for $10, pricey but satisfying. Another crowd favorite (as youll hear it repeatedly in line) is the Geisha's Kiss:Yellowfin Tuna (Hand-Line Caught), Tamago, Piquillo Peppers, Yuzu Tobiko, Lotus Chips, Namasu Cucumber, Butter Lettuce, AvocadoSesame White Soya. I liked it but definitely lean towards the Samba. I tried the salad once and it had too much lettuce and not enough of other ingredients to balance it, making it a bit underwhelming. Ill stick to my favorite, the Samba! I have to admire the entrepreneur who realized that giant sushi rolls (uncut) would be such a hit as sushi burritos.
