Asian BBQ & Pho Restaurant

So my wife and I are new to the Asian bbq idea. It proved to be very challenging but once we got the hang of cook times on the meats everything was delicious. If youre not down to cook your own food you can order prepared food off the menu on the other side of the restaurant. All in all great place for date night. Soju is a must try. If you dont like a heavy alcohol taste go for the green grape soju its amazing.

The Restaurant is great. Always clean and neat. Their food is the best Asian food in town. You have to try the pineapple shrimp curry, their orange chicken is killer, overall their restaurant is to die for. Every time we go in there they always call us by name. If we eat there or eat to go the waitress always gives me a glass full of crushed ice since that is what i like while i am waiting. I know great food because i am a picky eater. This place is at the top of the list and i am only 12.

The young waitress was nice and helpful. The older asian lady was very rude she was yelling at me when she brought my order to me lol. I thought to myself, I’d be happy if someone was contributing to my payroll? She didn’t seem happy at all. Also, she didn’t put any napkins or utensils inside the bag. And the food tasted alright until I started to crunch on what I thought was walnuts but i was wrong my chow mein was under cooked. Spent 25$ on a few items and was treated unfairly to say the least. Find it sad for people to not have any gratitude for wherever they are, and the elderly asian woman seemed angry for no reason, and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Poor lady if i was the problem she could have just refunded me or, told me take my business elsewhere respectfully. 1st time here I’m going to have to wish you guys luck. And definitely would not recommend going here. A bunch of other good looking restaurants in the plaza

My husband and I went for a date. Ive been to other tapanyaki restaurants before and I remember the entertainment and the laughter and having a good time. The gentleman we had, you could tell was nervous and very very quite. So I was sad we missed out on the entertainment part. He did take care to make sure my order was right though and ran back to the kitchen to correct it, which we appreciated.Maybe coming from an Asian family, I may be a little more critical but, I thought the food was just okay. My husband said he liked his dinner however and ate nearly his whole plate (and the portion sizes were huge).I did like the environment and the garden was really quite charming.

Had Chinese food here for the first time today because we wanted to try something other than Panda Express. I saw the Dinner Combo plates menu here and the decent price so we decided to try it out!The service was friendly and the ambiance was dull and environment is dated.Let's talk about the food! We ordered the Daily Special which is now $16.50(?)-ish as of 5/2024. It came with orange chicken, broccoli beef, pork fried rice, pork chow mein, fried shrimp, fried chicken wings, and fried wontons. A LOT of food, RIGHT?! We were super eager to get our food! The parking lot was empty when we got there and there were no customers at the time. We purchased our order and drove home.Upon opening our box, everything looked like your ordinary Chinese food. All the fried stuff was extremely fried. They did not look appetizing at all. Super dry. The wontons were plain and flat. I thought we were going to get the wontons with stuffing inside, but no. Fried shrimp ? Shrimp was pretty non-existent. The fried chicken wings..we didn't even try it because it looked like mystery meat to us (bleh). We enjoyed the orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and chow mein. The pork fried rice was eh. Nothing special about it. The rice was a little dry and lifeless too. I don't think it needed the pork. Too much meat in one meal.Overall, we gave this place a solid 3. All the fried extras weren't edible. We felt like it was just leftovers they're trying to get rid of. Would choose Panda Express over this place any day.

Food is always great! But service is horrible! If seated first and another group gets seated after, they get drinks and gets to order first. I've noticed that a few times whenever we go. The other day I placed an order for pick up. My call in order was at 4:41. I get there about 35 minutes after the call, paid and was told my food was being packed. I said okay. Stood there and waited. 10 minutes later a girl notice I was standing there and she said she'd checked my food. She went to the back and never came back. Waited a bit more and I had to stop another girl and ask her to check on my food to see what's going on because my one year old and his dad was waiting in the car. She never came back too. I see a different girl come out with some food that was bagged and had no idea who it was for. She put it down on the counter and went through receipts and still couldn't figure out who it was for. She asked another waitress and she said she didn't know too and left. The lady that brought out the food opened the bag and saw my name on it. Handed to me, no apology, or “Thank you! Have a nice day”. By the time I got my food, it was a litttle after a hour from when I called in to make the order! They weren't even busy during that time. Very disappointed. They need to work on their customer service. My baby was crying when I got back to the car. We'll see about returning. Not anytime soon at least.

If you enjoyed my review please hitvthevlije button and consider following me.My buddy and I sell frozen steak, seafood and chicken across Southern California, Nevada and Arizona. Every dive bar and greasy spoon will eventually find their way onto my list.Covid-19 challenges small restaurants and I understand their margins are not that thick in the best of times, I wonder if that wasnt a factor.I ordered two large bowls of Tom Kha Ki soup and had little trouble finding it despite minimal signage to mark the spot. The total for the two bowls was $21.75, which is about what I would expect to pay but the servings were small. I would estimate the servings were about 20 oz. and I would guess each contained about 4 oz of chicken. The soup was outstanding and the broth was spot on, I was left wishing there was much more. Again I understand the economic pressure these small restaurants are under and I wish them the best.

Wonderful little find! We were looking for something different for lunch and my husband found them on google. So glad we did. Food is amazing! Staff is amazing! Experience was amazing! We started with the calamari. This was full size rings not little tiny pieces. Batter was light and not over powering, seasoning was terrific, peppers and onions were grilled so they were not hot but very flavorful. For our meals we ordered the spicy noodles at a medium heat. Again, amazing flavor, crispy veggies and tender beef. Also ordered the pad thai with beef. Just the right level of sweet.Excellent experience and will be back soon! Support our small businesses, they are the background of our amazing city!

I have been once for a donut and the parking lot is small and cramped. The lines can be long because visalia doesnt have alot of or any other comparative places that similar food and drinks. The modern vibes of this place is fine but nothing exciting. The donuts are good of course, donuts are good in general I think ?. The thing I wanted to talk about was their Korean corndogs. No where esle in visalia can you find a Korean corndog and they are so good. I had them back at this great place in LA, so I was excited to see them offer them. We got two and they were $10-$11 dollars EACH. 10 dollars for a deep fried hotdog with cheese. Not cheap compared to the other places I have tried out side of the valley. I bought them anyway because I wanted to try it once. We bought two, one with cheese and a hot dog, one with out cheese, both with spicy mayo on top. So these are Definitely not worth the price if you dont pay extra for the cheese, in my opinion the cheese is what makes the Korean corn dog. I would like to note that these were slightly disappointing not only in price but also with the cheese quality. Other k.cs I have had the cheese is melty in the inside and pulls apart like when you pull apart a slice of cheese pizza, but with these the batter was still hot so it wasnt a temperature issue, the cheese wasnt melty and was kinda hard and stiff like they left in the freezer to long. Over all Im not super impressed with this place, the prices, or the quality. I wish we had more places like this in the valley so there was some competition. Also its worth it to note the spicy mayo gave my skin an allergic reaction and I had small burns around my mouth, I have never had that happen before with any spicy mayo so thought I would mention that here.
Chinese Kitchen Visalia

I have been coming here for years and was sad to hear that the restaurant was being sold to another family. Of course I had to come in and give it a try and compare the original Chinese Kitchen to the new Chinese Kitchen. Let me just say that the food was excellent. I ordered chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken and even got to try some of the salt and pepper fish. I did not regret ordering it. The food was fresh, had a lot of flavor, was very reasonable in pricing and was authentic. Best of all is that they give you good sized portions. Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants around. The new owners Kit and Kan were super friendly and very hospitable. Also their staff is great. I got to meet Jeni one of the waitresses there, and she is super friendly and very attentive. I will definitely miss the old Chinese Kitchen, but the new Chinese Kitchen is definitely something unforgettable and I will surely return. I definitely recommend anybody and everybody to give it a try!
