Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle
9630 Bruceville Rd #104, Elk Grove, CA 95757, United States
I had to check this place out after seeing the cute display of tiny dishes in my feed. I also love hot soup/noodles and have heard of this noodle chain. We got here at around 6:30 pm on Friday night and it was packed. We waited for about 10 minutes for a table, which gave me time to checkout the menu. The decor is plain, simple and clean.I got the A6 Tomato Pork Cartilage Rice Noodles. If you dont want any meat, you can order A5. They bring out all the ingredients in their own small dishes in a tray. You get lettuce, corn, ham, quail egg?, scallion, goji berries, noodles, and few other ingredients that I have seen but dont know what they are called in English. The piping hot soup in a clay pot came out about 10 minutes later. The fun part is adding the ingredients that you like in the soup to cook and wait few minutes because it is super hot! The broth/soup is delicious and flavorful. Best part was the pork cartilage! It was tender and savory. Cartilage is actually really good for you. Its high in collagen, which is great for your joints and skin.My husband got the C3 Picked Cabbages & Fish Fillet Rice Noodles. I think his ingredients are slightly different than mine and obviously he has fish fillet. The broth/soup is lighter and kind of creamy. If you dont like fish, dont get this. The fish filet doesnt taste frozen and they gave you a generous amount. It was very good!We didnt order any appetizer/snack and they have about a dozen choices. The usual popcorn chicken, potstickers, fries and stuff like that.We did order Super Kumquat Lemon drink. It was super sweet and I didnt like it. I should have asked for reduced sugar but forgot.Overall, a nice addition to Elk Grove. Plenty of parking on this side of Elk Grove Commons.

My all time favorite foods are served here! Katsudon, katsu curry, shrimp tempura curry, and croquette curry. I have been let down by other Elk Grove restaurants trying to find katsudon that actually follows the actual Japanese recipe (side eyeing Satori Sushi and a few other places so hard right now ?).Im not a person who thinks only Japanese people can make good Japanese food, thats silly. But I do like it to have the right flavors etc if its not presented as fusion or a spin on traditional foods. Most of the Japanese restaurants in our area are run by lovely people from many ethnicities. I like to know ahead of time so that I dont do something dumb like order the items in Japanese (sometimes I forget and ask for ramen kata me and then feel like I was both dumb and rude when the server is like Uhhh what now?). I used to live there and it kind of comes back when youre having the food! The staff here is not Japanese but they are super excited about making good food and greeting customers. Tanukis food is authentic and tastes good. The staff is polite and pays attention to detail. Everyone makes you feel welcome. I have been here maybe 10 times and ordered both dine-in and takeout and the order is always accurate, huge portions, and delicious. The curry is exquisite. For you white people, it may be a bit on the hot side of medium compared to store bought Japanese curry roux. It pairs well with croquettes and shrimp tempura! This restaurant is not good for bringing someone to if you want to talk quietly about deep stuff, Its small and loud like a good ramen shop tends to be. We always end up watching the TVs. There is usually something on with k-pop. No, its not those 2 very famous in the US groups that start with B, so stop asking lol. Its stuff with older SM or JYP artists hosting a variety show or some mvs. I tend to see stuff with Eunhyuk and Donghae from SuJu on the screen a lot I think. I have seen a ranking awards show but it was an old one.I really like the decor. They invested well in it and its very nice.If I could ask for an item that they dont already have, I would like matcha latte, soba noodles, chuka soba, yakisoba, or kids size items. A small ramen or udon with fish cake in it would be super! My kids eat like soooo little and they never want the same thing as each other so having them share is out.I would also adore if they did DoorDash for delivery! Because parking here SUCKS.All in all a solid 5 stars. Thank you!

Literally the best sushi restaurant in the entire Sacramento region.Ive tried so many places in/near Sac and Im willing to drive 45 minutes here just to eat their rolls and sashimi. Ive been here 5 times and brought my family and friends here too. Great quality rolls and they actually give you a lot of sushi per roll. Also, the staff here are so friendly and attentive. They only opened 9 months ago which is very impressive!!Let me start with the best roll on the menu:Kobe roll: seared kobe beef with baby lobster salad on top of tuna, tempura flakes, tobiko. Every bite is literally a gold mine. So much flavor, especially the torched kobe beef!! ?Kamakaz roll: soft shell crab here is cooked to perfection, also comes with crab meat and baby lobster salad. Get it, its worth it.Sakura roll: soy wrap (in place of seaweed) is delicious. Salmon, tuna, Hamachi, crab meat, baby lobster salad, tamago is a great balance of flavor. Its sweet, salty, and so so fresh. They just put on 6 new rolls! Will try the Gucci roll and Osaka roll next time as Ive heard that they are the best.Edit: Osaka roll: unagi, seared tuna, and salmon with savory sauce. Very good combination of flavors, great choice!Ordered chirashi bowl and its a decent amount of fresh salmon/tuna/hamachi/tamago/ whatever else the chef wants over rice. Good if you want to fill yourself up on raw fish.Daily chefs choice sashimi is a stunning presentation of their freshest available fish. We got shima aji, otoro, snapper, wagyu beef with fresh uni, ikura, salmon and a few others with pickled wasabi. Served atop ice and dry ice. 100% worth it for the taste and the experience!Oysters were fresh, meaty, and flavorful. Cant go wrong with this one.Oyster shooters were also fresh but a tad bit salty for me.Uni nigiri had gold flakes in it! Better than most other restaurants. Its hard to get fresh uni in Sac.Miso soup was mushroom based and so unique compared to other restaurants! I loved the flavor!Truffle hamachi was SO GOOD. I tried to eat every little piece.Chicken karaage was also really really good. Tender chicken, fried outsides. Outside could be fried just a little bit more but that might just be my preference.Ika geso was also really good. Fried squid legs.Bento boxes are good too. I prefer the rolls here but you cant really go wrong with any of their bento options.Dont forget DESSERT! Its not on the menu but its really good pricing. All desserts can run out if its a popular time, so be warned!Litchi sorbet is a MUST. There are little chunks of litchi in it. Every bite has tons of sweet flavorful juice, it makes me cry in happiness every time I get to eat this. Good for an adventurous soul.Red bean ice cream also is so delicious, there are red bean chunks nestled inside. Its really fresh every time.Yuzu cheesecake is heckin delicious as well. Its the right amount of sweetness and creaminess.Green tea cheesecake was my least favorite dessert, but it still was really good. It just cant compete with the other three in my opinion, but if you like green tea you should absolutely order it!!I recommend making a reservation for large parties as it can get crowded.Ok in summary everything is top tier quality. I always leave with a full belly and happy memories!

Great service, bland food. Its like a Chinese restaurant without meat. That is not vegetarian. Their menu is plain. Dont know why it was packed. Overpriced for saucy noodles and saucy tofu.
Yoshi Japanese Restaurant

To be fair, the food was 4+ and the service brought it down. Ive been here several times and this was the only bad experience, but it was horrible. My wife and I waited 15-20 min and our appetizers hasnt arrived. The table across from us, who had arrived and ordered well after us, got an app that seemed to confuse them. They poked and prodded it trying to figure out if it was something they ordered, but decided to ask the server... Who didnt come back around for about 5 min. I saw the app and was pretty sure that it was meant for my table. At this point, my wifes entree showed up, while neither of our two apps had been delivered. The server walked to the other table and talked to them then picked up their (my) app and took it back to the kitchen. A few minutes later, they brought it to me and served it... Despite having been on another table and being more than 10 min from its preperation (it was a hot app, so that mattered). I asked the server if this was the same food that had been served to another table and he sheepishly admitted that it was. After he stared blankly at me for an uncomfortable time, I asked him politely to have a new app made. A while later both our apps came out freshly made... Beat in mind my wife had been served her entree quite a while ago and I sat with nothing. Eventually my entree came and we finished our food, everything was very tasty. But, we realized that our sushi had never come out. We waited another 10 min before a server came and checked on us. We told her that our sushi never came and she frantically apologized and went back to the kitchen. Another 10 passed when another server asked us if we needed anything else and we told him the same thing that we told the previous server and mentioned that she hadnt come back to tell us anything. He also left to the kitchen. A few more minutes passed and he came back with some very uncharacteristically sloppy looking sushi. If this has been our first visit, it would also have been our last. Fortunately, we know how out of the ordinary this was. Still, there was no attempt to apologize or offer any sort of acknowledgment which left me feeling very dissatisfied.
Happy Garden Elk Grove

Awful from the moment we walked in. It took them 15 minutes to ask if we wanted a drink. The po po platter was mostly bad, ribs were insanely dry like unusually dry...shrimp was overcooked, foil chicken overcooked, steemed rice was overcooked and separated like grains of sand - not sticky at all. The chicken in the chow mein was overcooked, the sweet n sour pork overcooked and COLD - not just the meat but even the veggies so it had been sitting for awhile. Lemon chicken was not tangy, and super soggy so that had been sitting. Curry beef tasted funky, we left that on the table when we left. When I told the waitress about the lemon chicken being soggy and the sweet n sour pork being cold, they didnt even offer to re cook them, and we never even got our waters refilled not even once. This place was packed and its beyond me how thats possible. They clearly couldnt handle the rush. Even with two dishes removed from our bill it was $65 bucks.Folsom Palace in citrus heights, would put this place to shame. Their customer service is impeccable and personable, the place is swanky and spotless and their food always incredible, FRESH, and piping hot. We spent hard earned money at happy garden and it was a waste. It was really just...bad.

Leaving a 2 b/c once you actually get your food it's really good. This place used to be a 5 without a doubt (pre covid). It defies logic but somehow now that there are less tables to serve the service is a lot slower and the poor manager (who is very nice and accommodating) is being pulled in several directions. We used to (again, pre-covid) come here about once a week-usually for Monday's all day happy hour. It was always great service and great food. The only complaint would have been that the tables next to the bar get very loud from the bar crowd. We thought that the last bad experience was a fluke but I guess not. The biggest issue is the concept of time. Please don't tell me that a table will take 40-45 minutes if we are not going to be sat for 90 minutes. I don't care that the tables are taking that long b/c you're busy-I just want the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether or not I want to stay. This evening I placed an order for pickup. I was told that it would take about 40 minutes to be ready-no problem, it's Saturday night. I get there 40 minutes and am told that it is not ready yet. The order finally comes out after we waited for 20 minutes (so the order took an hour). I check the order and the hot food is cold. I was told that the sushi runs behind so the food sits out while they wait on the sushi. I was told this on a previous visit when my husband got his sushi after everyone else finished their meals. It's a sushi restaurant, rectify the problem or don't call yourself a sushi restaurant- Mikuni has been able to figure this out. The manager had everything remade quickly but did ask if I just wanted a refund- NO! I didn't place an order for dinner and wait over an hour just to get a refund! To top it off, my son needed a new diaper. I took him into the bathroom to discover that the large handicap stall where the changing table is located was occupied. We waited to discover that it was an employee that was using a handicap stall. That just seemed inappropriate.Yes this is a “Karen” review but honestly who would be happy paying over $100 for dried out scallops and soggy tempura???
Tea Garden
9109 Laguna Main St # 100, Elk Grove, CA 95758, United States
I had just moved to Elk Grove when I first saw this restaurant. It is near our Sr Apartments..I was looking for a good chinese place to eat with my Japanese friend. we came and we had a good experience good service. It was nice to come into a clean and warm place. we were seated and made at home. We both ordered Stir fired noodle, HK style noodles with shrimp. We were so surprised at the size of the platter. We both could have shared one of the platters. It was delicious and we took some home! Next time we will know we can order 1 and something else to share. The noodles were crispy and a lot of gravy with veggies and plenty of shrimp. next time we will order differently. the food was fresh and tasty. I love fried noodles hong kong style and you can ask for less crispy as well. Only thing I would like to say is that the tea have fresh tea leaves and stronger and refills...as we did not get refills. After giving us our order would have been nice to have waiter or waitress check on us as that was not done. But still like coming here and will come back for more samplings of the menu!!
Journey To The Dumpling

The reality is, every moment a visitor interacts with your establishment, leads to judgment about your brand Journey to the Dumpling. Yvonne, it is nice to meet you again. Today, I cant express in words how I felt standing there becoming subtly impatient only to then watch a sitting customer, standup then walks over to where I was standing and get the attention of your staff just by her standing beside me. The situation was escalated the moment your employee came to the front and assisted her instead. He then completed her financial transaction while my order sat right beside him on the to-go table. Still, he didnt take the opportunity to greet me as I was disregarded when he quickly returned to his other duties at the far side of the restaurant. Everyone pays attention to the front of the establishment, thats where the door is as well as your cash register. In your reply, you mentioned that your staff was consumed with finishing up a busy lunch service preparing for a busy dinner service. You clarified why I was purposefully ignored. Not by one of your staff members but by each of them that walked by and interacted with the front register area where I was standing. However, it does not clarify why another person was assisted during my wait and not me.The marginalization of some groups dilutes the beauty and centrality of Elk Grove as a whole, as it excludes groups due to race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, and/or immigration status who want to be treated as normal people.I am NOT asking you to give me what I want, how I want it, at the lowest price, extra fast and make me feel special, or Ill buy from someone else. I am simply asking for the same attention to detail everyone wants during your available business hours. As I am a very reasonable consumer and local business owner right here in Elk Grove, there will be another opportunity for me to update my experience with your establishment Journey to Dumpling.

I went in to go cash in a $500.00 ticket and was quite excited.? There service wasnt terrible. It was great as far as just getting me in and out if the store.? However all of the employees seemed very sad depressed of some sort. Like they didnt enjoy doing there job, kinda like, bummer...??? So somehow when I left the store; I was not so excited anymore. Rather just kinda bummed out.? But there was one cashier at the cash register that did smile and kinda nodded her head for a warm welcome. ?I was able to cash out and leave with the money.? Maybe it was just too early in the morning.? Anyways as we all know it all already, best veggies and fruits available here. So fresh it adds an extra lighting to the store, somehow...?? Environment always kept nice and tidy! Never been to one that was dirty. Employees are always dressed professionally. But without the smiles, I guess Im having just okay day.?
