This used to be my fav Chinese/noodle restaurant in the bay area. Not any more. The flavor and the choice of ingredients have been changed since about a year ago. Now it is an average Chinese restaurant in this area.Atmosphere and service are solid, food is so so.

Whole Foods Market
4800 El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
A fine all-round high end very large grocery market place carrying a multitude selections of food, drinks, snacks, fresh produce, frozen foods, prepared foods and desserts for take home. Home care, personal care, and baby care products. Safer products without all the toxins youll find in commercial cleaning supplies. Dental, hair, and make-up supplies. Supplements of all types, natural health care products. Fresh seafood and meat choice counters. Hot buffet style dishes and soups (before covid interfered.) Pizza counter. Sandwich and burrito counter. Self-fill filtered water station. Excellent dairy and non-dairy choice selections. Gluten - free selections of food, along with the usual choices. Lots of fresh bread and quality commercial bread choices. Organic choices in food along with non-organic. Prices run on the expensive side, although some discounts are given if you are a special member of Amazon. Parking is plentiful. There is handicap and electric car recharge designated parking. Bathrooms are usually well-equipped and handicap accessible. Staff is trained to be very helpful, and to keep the store tidy and clean. There are food store shoppers and delivery service available here. I believe that Amazon ordered items can be picked up from lockers here (?) There had been a casual dining area both indoors and outdoors before covid rules destroyed that. At this point of time, they could and should reinstate the outdoor dining areas, but have chosen not to instead. ? Management please look into that. You have customers that are traveling far by car, bus, hike, and bike that are hungry and would like to eat on spot.
Chef Chus

The ambiance and service are good. There seemed to be a second floor that wasn’t open when I went there around 11:30 am on a weekday. The restaurant was busy and the lower floor was quickly filled.Had high expectation of the food based on reviews. However, I was disappointed. It is more like an American-style Chinese restaurant (a chop suey restaurant ) than a modern authentic Chinese cuisine place. The clientele seemed to be mainly non-Asian locals. Our party had a sweet and sour soup, which was more concentrated than even in regular chop suey restaurants. The soup was exceedingly salty and spicy. We had a seafood fried noodle and a vegetable shrimp dishes. We asked the waiter for less oil in the noodle. Both dishes were too salty, however. The salty taste overshadowed the natural flavor of the ingredients. The seafood thus didn’t taste like fresh seafood. Perhaps they were not quality seafood ingredients in the first place. The shrimps were not of high quality, and they were overcooked. They tasted like imitation shrimps if there’s such a thing.Probably not a preferred choice among many better Chinese restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area.
Village Court Shopping Center
4546 El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
Everything is conveniently located in the shopping center. Perfect choice for both who live here and the driving by.So many food options, grocery stores, beauty salons, gyms, and other services are gathered here. A great one-stop shopping center for all you need. Also, there are lots of parking spots and you never have troubles finding a parking spot at anytime. At worst you can find a parking 2-3 minutes to any place you have a stop in the plaza.
Armadillo Willys Barbecue
1031 N San Antonio Rd, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
I learned of Armadillo Willy's over 20yrs ago and when I'm in the area, a must.Everything I order is always satisfactory. They had an option of fountain drinks instead of sodas; no longer available. My husband worked in the area (deceased 2009) and sometimes he will surprise me. What a surprise right? Food instead of materialistic things; lol!I love AW!The chicken is seasoned perfectly and juicy. The ribs; moist and flavorful.Ooh, the brisket; its boasting a nice beefy taste and tender chew. It taste like my brother's (has COPD/Dementia now?) and its a rare find. The side orders are great! I don't have any favorites. The cornbread use to be free; understandable? I think its because the city people have learned how to eat BBQ the Texan way; smile!I'm not sure if Armadillo Willy has pound cake (never ordered desserts), but if they do, thats another dish to add to your meal. Mm mm good!Pound cake, potato salad, beans and BBQ combination along with cornbread; wear loose clothing; lol!My opinion, its the best BBQ in Northern California. The prices has risen, as most restaurants, but due to satisfaction and good customer service, its worth it.The meals are succulent treats!Beginning to crave; smile! Too far!I've been to San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and Dublin locations, but Los Altos is my favorite.
State Street Market
170 State St, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
Cannot recommend State Street enough. Every variation of food you could want, raw seafood, Chinese, salads, pizza, cheese platters, and more. We had Dan Dan veg noodles (excellent), mussels (yummy), Mac and three cheese (to die for), pork bun (well made), and tofu avacado salad (fresh). It is convenient to order from any of the six restaurants from your table on your phone. Service is fast.
Ph Vi Hoa
4546 El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA 94022, United States
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I feel so disrespected and in dismay. It started when I was ordering my food, the waiter was politely being rude. I had wanted to start with an appetizer, nothing crazy just some vegetarian egg rolls. The waiter ( older lady, short, copper hair) proceeds to say, not pork, not chicken, not shrimp, and not spring rolls. When I politely answered each time and said no the veggie deep fried egg rolls please.Second as we are eating our food. I realized its been a while, main entree is out and we still yet to receive the egg rolls. I politely go and ask the same older waiter if my egg rolls were forgotten. She answered politely rudely ( trying to be funny), you have to wait little more time and continues to say that. Puts her hands out like you would do a kid and does a gesture ( I will post to better understand), laughs as I just walk away. Then here comes the worst part. As my husband and I are eating our food, same waiter and two other employees are constantly looking at us and laughing. My husband looked over a couple times, and so did I.As some eggrolls come out, older waiter again yells out, give the egg rolls to table #44 (our table) since they couldnt wait for table #41 to get theirs first. She said it so loud that other guest could hear. That so uncalled for.As I am eating my soup I hear all there employees laughing when the eggrolls were delivered. And the older waiter keeps saying something and they keep laughing even more. I look over and they laugh even more after that .At the point mid eating, I walk up and let her know she should be ashamed of herself for laughing at us with everyone else. Not only that, but I never was once rude to here. I gave back the eggrolls that we never touched & said you can also give these to whoever was first. She laughs again at me and says dont worry, ill give them for free. That is not what we wanted. We go ahead leave our unfinished food and pay. We even paid !!!!She keeps laughing and saying sorry honey. Shame on her, shame on the other employees laughing at us and shame on this business. I have never experienced so much humility when all I wanted was to enjoy comfort food with my husband.
Charley Noodle & Grill

There are very few times that Yelp has led me down a wrong path and this is one of them. Im not sure how this place receives an average 4 star rating. We ordered the ramen with spicy tonkatsu broth. You have to add each topping separately. Most ramen incorporates the spices to the soup base to make it spicy. When I received it, there was a layer of hot oil floating on top. The noodles tasted like the ramen noodles from a package. It has that same waxy exterior that is very distinctive. The signs of a good ramen is the noodle and the soup. Both failed. The egg was over cooked and the yolk had a grayish ring. The one redeeming thing is the minced pork. It was flavorful, but again on the dry side.My husband ordered the General Tsos chicken. The batter was light and crispy, but the chicken was super dry. The sauce was sweet without the spicy and tangy.
