Noodle St
120 W Foothill Blvd, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
Grade A (94): This place is like an inconspicuous Asian restaurant and it works for me, it takes care of my Chinese food cravings for some reason. They have Amazing bone broth and fresh noodles, much better than ramen places for me. The spicy beef noodle bowl is great, the spicy pancake roll is awesome, so is the Cha-shu pork fried rice and the dumplings. You have enough to take home for next days lunch. Havent really had anything bad here that I remember and Ive been here quite a few times. I like the Monrovia one since parking is so easy and the servers are a bit more pleasant than other locations.

Monrovia Street Fair & Market

Very nice farmers market/street fair on a Friday night. We came her out of curiosity and convenience (since my conference was held nearby). It starts around 5 pm. There was only one veggies booth, the rest of them were food, clothing and some random stuff. There are few booths sell vegan food or vegan friendly food, like vegan tacos, vegan burritos, vegan pupusas, and vegan desserts. There are some live music playing around the street fair. It was a very relaxing experience. Id recommend for any residents or visitors around the town to come join the Friday street fair. Monrovia is a cute little town. It was rated as most authentic American town once! (Please dont quote me on that, I only heard it from someone)

Noodle Stars
344 Huntington Dr, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
Ive actually tried this place when they were in a food court in West Covina. Glad to see now that they have their own standalone store.Noodles Stars, as you all know, is an Indonesian Restaurant specializing in noodles (hence their name but they do that have delicacies as well). It sits on the side of a plaza that is shared with a variety of other businesses, and a market. Parking can be bad during peak hours because of how concentrated this plaza naturally isThe both times Ive been here, there has been a common denominator. Their Me goreng. Before coming here, my only exposure to this dish was the instant ones. Although those are still good, I highly recommend trying the authentic dish, and if youre lucky to be around Noddle Stars, to try it here. It is significantly better and the dish I always look forward to ordering when coming here. I have also tried their Chicken Satay which is delicious as well. It came with some rice cakes and a very unique Shrimp Paste sauce.Overall, I love this place. I will definitely come back here time and time again for some great Indonesian food.

Luscious Dumplings
919 W Duarte Rd, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
The small restaurant is kind of a hole in the wall. It is in a plaza with a few other Chinese restaurants and GW grocery store. I’ve been here many many years ago and remembered it being pretty good. However, after this last visit, I’m not so sure anymore.First of all, you order everything via the QR code on the table. Very quick/convenient.Secondly, everything is served in to-go containers. Not sure if they just ordered too many to-go containers during the pandemic or just easier for them to clean up. In my opinion, it’s neither environmentally friendly nor elevate the dining experience.Thirdly, the food was just ok. the beef noodle soup was not great. The soup was bland and there’s only a few bites of beef. The pot stickers were not crispy. They seemed to have been boiled and pan fried instead of cooked in the pan.I will still order the frozen dumplings to go, but would not recommend dining here.

Monrovia Plaza

Here is where the Baja Ranch store is, its a Mexican store you can find fresh bread that they bake every day; I like the conchas from this store, and the corn tortillas, just you need to come after 9:00 am to buy the fresh tortillas made every day. They have a good variety of Mexican products, this store is kind of pricey but you need to be alert on their specials and they are good. The people whose work there is very kind and helpful, always with a smile I their face ?.

Lins Club
925 W Duarte Rd, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
This has become our regular take out spot for Chinese food. The prices are very reasonable, portions are good, and flavors are fantastic! The hot pepper chicken (山城辣子鸡) is a must for any fans of spicy fried chicken. We also love the beef pan fried noodle and Kung Pao chicken. The house spicy pots are good too if you can handle the spice! The restaurant is pretty small with just a few tables, but definitely clean and cozy.

Yi Mei
943 W Duarte Rd, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
One of the favorite Taiwanese restaurants for the locals here. Many of my Taiwanese friends who visit LA would make a special trip to come here to eat. During the pandemic, they only offer take out service. To facilitate the ordering process, you can order online or call in your order. They offer all of my favorite Taiwanese food here especially breakfast items. The rice rolls are excellent and authentic. I particularly like their sesame flatbread with eggs. This breakfast item is crispy and nutritious. I also like their Hot soy milk. For many Chinese, this is a morning stable drink. Every time I come here, I have to have a soy milk drink. Yi MEI has done a good job on this drink. Fried dough goes well with the soy milk drink too.Lunch dishes are good too. They have probably one of the best noodles in town. My favorite is their pig feet noodle. The pig feet are tender and flavorful. The soup is heavenly and reminds me of the good food I had when I visited Taiwan. Set lunch plates are also offered during lunch time. The plates include many famous Taiwanese dishes such as minced pork rice and Taiwanese sausages rice. For those of you want to have their frozen item, they have frozen pork dumplings and pot stickers. In the refrigerator, you can get cold drinks as well.

Chan Kee
931 W Duarte Rd, Monrovia, CA 91016, United States
I revisited Chan Kee this morning, hoping for a better experience after a disappointing first visit when they initially opened their doors. Unfortunately, my second visit only solidified my disappointment, as it seems to be their standard practice. While some dishes like the congee were good, the disappointment came when they forgot to add salt to the congee, which is a basic oversight. To make matters worse, when we requested a cold milk tea drink, they wanted to charge an extra $1.50, and even for condensed milk, they added an extra $.5 to the bill, which is uncommon as most HK cafes in the SGV provide these as part of the drink. What truly compounded our disappointment was the presence of flies everywhere in the restaurant, which significantly impacted our dining experience. Its disheartening to witness such bad business practices with what feels like extortion for basic condiments and a pest issue.Regrettably, I wont be returning to Chan Kee due to this consistently disappointing experience and questionable business practices.
