777 Noodle House
4686 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92105, United States
My family and I use to go to this place a lot a couple years back and I finally revisited today. This is a great Vietnamese & Khmer restaurant with a lot of variety on the menu. Ive loved everything Ive tried from here but especially their stir fried noodles.Today I tried the chou zhou noodles (hu tieu nam vang) which is one of my favorite foods. You can order the soup or dry version, but I opted for the soup. I usually go to another spot nearby for this, but its not bad from here! Its cheaper (only $10.50 including tax) and doesnt include the intestines/liver, but the broth was so good. The pork was delicious and so tender. It also does not include green veggies and only had bean sprouts. For the price, it was a really fulfilling and delicious meal. I really enjoyed it, and it stayed hot until I got home. This space is huge, I dont think there is ever a wait. Also dont be fooled and think there is just street parking because they have their own parking lot in the back.

Went with group of four to try out multiple dishes. I ordered the Braised Beef Noodle and the broth was ok…well, to be honest, it was underwhelming. I felt it was mostly chili oil soup that I can make it at home easily. The braised beef was good but not worth $16 for a underwhelming noodle soup. We ordered couple of dumpling dishes but again, it wasn't worth the price tag; they need to improve on the quality of each dishes or lower the price accordingly. The service is nonexistent. You scan the QR code and order from your smartphone. The waiter/waitress was busy looking at their phone all night long but when it was time for a check, they were requesting 20%. Get outta here. I recommend getting rid of these waiter/waitress and make it automated since you are more than halfway there already.2.3/5 ⭐️

Shan Xi Magic Kitchen
4344 Convoy St, San Diego, CA 92111, United States
Update review: They just launched their late night menu! I ordered from Hungry Panda App and went to pick the food up at their restaurant, the pickup time starts from 8:15pm. It’s perfect time for late night dinner~ All the late night dishes are so delicious and so authentic! You feel you are dining at a real Chinese restaurant back in China!! I recommend the Lamb collar hotpot, the spicy dry hotpot, and fried veggies & meats. It’s hard to describe what they are! You should just go to try! Their price is very affordable and their portion is big.Previous review: One of the most authentic Chinese foods in San Diego! If you want to try the real Chinese flavor, please come to check it out. First, this restaurant is specializing in Shan Xi food which represents one of the most popular western part of Chinese cuisine. Myself love Shan Xi food a lot, they use a lot of beef & lamb, it’s a little bit like mid-eastern foods. This time, the dishes I tried and loved a lot are Di San Xian, Stir Fry Lotus Root, and hand pulled Biang Biang noodles. My friend said almost all their foods are nice, I’ll definitely come back here for other dishes!

I fell in love with their fried rice!! We live in the area and found incredible reviews on this restaurant. One day we came to try their food and it was absolutely delicious. Just like the other reviews this place is a hidden gem here in City Heights. I always get the same order which is the House fried rice. Their food comes in big portions and I love to have left overs to enjoy the next day! I highly recommend this Chinese noodle restaurant to anyone!

New review: We came here again for dinner! This place is my husband’s favorite Chinese restaurant in San Diego. We think here has the most authentic taste among all restaurants in SD and it literally tastes like real northern Chinese cuisine. You can see the chef is making the hand pulled noodles in the kitchen window. And their noodles are a little bit chewy and very fresh, it’s the type of Northwest Chinese food style. Everything here we tried so far is very delicious. I highly recommend their Lamb PaoMo, Xinjiang Chicken Noodles and Tea Bag Eggs. But actually, I think literally everything is very worthy to try!Previous review: We came back here with our friends. This is a place that we always like and we wanna come back here again and again. Here’s food is super authentic and just tastes like what you eat in real China. I also love they don’t adjust the food taste to meet all other cultures peoples taste. It is authentic and nice. This time, we tried the hot chilly oil noodles, which is so yummy and hand pulled noodles are chewy and fresh.the service here is great, we really love the passion of the manager who is very helpful.Previous: I feel like I’m back in China!!! To be honestly, this restaurant is the most authentic Chinese place I’ve ever had in San Diego. Even my husband said so too, and he has only been to China twice. It’s very authentic and delicious!!! All the foods we ordered are very well made with good and clean ingredients, you can even watch they make the hand pulled noodles through the window. I love my cold cucumber and sesame rice noodles. My husband loved his lamb skewers. Both of us loved the beef wrap the most, it’s so crispy outside. The cold dish is nice, you can pick 3 to make a combo. When my parent comes to visit, I’m sure they will love this place.

Dumplings N More
3865 Fifth Ave, San Diego, CA 92103, United States
Cant rave enough about this place!! Who doesnt want to see their food prepared? I am not big on Chinese food because we Americans really know how to screw it up. But left to those with rich history in cuisine it is stellar. The name dumplings and more couldnt sound more American but the more lets you know that theres an inside joke telling you to hold on to your seat. The soups have that same satisfying depth that your Grandma understands and not only are the noodles just as fresh tasting as the dumplings but the size of the bowls are awe inspiring. I ordered the shrimp and preserved cabbage that gave me a chicken noodle soup buzz with the flavor of seafood and the Braised Pork Soup came as Braised Beef Soup with an apology from the chef (not sure what that was about), but I didnt miss it. It tasted similar to an au jus with plenty of jus. The Dim Sum combo was like a steamed basket of fireworks, delectable and toothy. I almost didnt get a pic of them because they went so fast. I also ordered the picked radish and they were a win with as simple crunchy dish. Kinda like a box of popcorn at a movie but sweet. The staff was friendly and fast as well. The only side eye was the bathroom. It could use some TLC, especially the door which you are forced to touch going in and out. Not too appetizing. The look of the restaurant is quaint and unassuming. They really dont need to decorate to tempt you to try the dumplings once you see them being made. This is a must try for your family and anyone you have visiting from out of town. It does not disappoint and would for sure impress even the most bourgeoisie of foodies. That is if they truly are a foodie.

Qin West Noodle
4353 La Jolla Village Dr, San Diego, CA 92122, United States
Qin West Noodle is located on the west side of the UTC Mall in La Jolla, Macy’s side, next to Eureka. There are two options to order: place your order at a kiosk or at the register if you are paying cash. By paying cash, you can bypass CC service charge of 2.3%. This restaurant doesn’t want customers to pay tip or the 4% service charge that some restaurants are now imposing on customers. Their menu stated: Self Service. No tips. What a refreshing signage! ?I like the concept of 100% self-service for casual dinning such at noodle restaurants and didn’t mind cleaning and taking our trash to the designated area after the meal. Only thing I didn’t like was that they are using single use bowls etc. My suggestion would be forgoing single use bowls, at least for the dine-in customers to create less waste. Overall, Qin West Noodle offers authentic casual Chinese comfort food, friendly staff and the food was well priced given that it is located at the UTC Mall. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.4.1/5 ⭐️

Love their noodles soups here. I usually order their Seafood combo with egg noodles and dry style. We also like to order the Chinese donuts and their Vietnamese iced coffee too.Their salted fish fried rice is pretty good and many restaurants dont serve that dish. The Beef chow fun is also another dish we order often.Service is always quick and friendly. Table service but you go up to the cash register to pay when you are done with your meal. Thats often the case in Vietnamese restaurants.

LHK Noodle Bar
10606 Camino Ruiz #3, San Diego, CA 92126, United States
I visited this location on July 15th, 2013.To begin with, the service was less than welcoming as the wait staff didnt even bother to acknowledge my party of 8 when we walked in; they merely stared at us until we took the initiative to claim our own table. As we seated ourselves, one of the employees walked over and literally tossed some menus onto the table. The thoughtless service continued as they merely took our order without bothering to make us feel welcome in the establishment.Secondly, I could actually excuse this sort of treatment from a privately owned restaurant because they dont really have anyone to hold them accountable to their actions, but what happened next is inexcusable for any one in the food service industry:ROACHES. NOT ONE, BUT TWO OF THEM. My party and I were alerted to them when the table across from us started screaming, with one of the patrons jumping out of the booth as one of the roaches had crawled onto her skin. Both of the roaches were large, at least 1inch long, and were probably what most people would classify as Oriental cockroaches (google them if you need more information); they are large, disgusting roaches.Well, the first roach that was swatted landed on the floor and ran underneath another booth. The second one ran from the table top and into another booth as well. The table who encountered the roaches went and notified the staff immediately and left in a hurry, no doubt because of their horrifying experience. What makes this situation even worse was the RESPONSE OF THE STAFF, WHICH WAS NOTHING; NOTHING AT ALL! Eventually, both roaches came out of hiding and went back to the first booth where they came out of, no doubt to finish the Chinese food that was left by the family that ran out of the building. My table and I alerted the staff that the roaches returned and not a single one of them even bothered to come over to the tables to try and kill these disgusting creatures. Eventually, other tables started to notice the two roaches and started complaining as well. FINALLY, one of the waiters comes over and says, oh its ok, its ok, were good, were good. BUT, he doesnt even try to kill the roaches! He merely chased them around and when they ran under another table to hide he gave up and just went back to work! Now, I have been in the restaurant industry as an employee and a Manager for over 15 years. I will tell all of you people who arent in the industry a simple but harsh fact: ALL RESTAURANTS HAVE PEST PROBLEMS; the key however, is how that restaurant handles it. Quality restaurants have a solid pest control program in place and you will almost never see a pest. However, places like THIS ONE where the employees dont even seem to care theyre in the presence of food and guests tells me that this is a regular occurence in their establishment. What other sanitation and safety matters are they also ignoring? Its very easy to get sick at a public restaurant if the staff isnt careful about the food theyre handling and the pests that are about the place.Additionally, heres another reason to stay away from this place: there was no hand soap in EITHER THE MENS OR WOMENS restrooms, which invariably means that the staff may not be washing their hands after using the toilet, or perhaps theyre not washing their hands at all.For the sake of your peace of mind as well as your HEALTH, I strongly recommend not eating at this establishment unless, just like the staff, you dont care about disease carrying cockroaches served with your food either...

Where to start with this experience....First and foremost, what happened to the portions for what Im paying for its expected, not this medicore portion.Second, why was it so cold that the atmosphere is so dreary now.Third, whats with the customer service when asking about the small portions I was giving such a snarcky remark that I was not about to argue, so I just took my food and left.Ive been coming to this spot ever since they opened. Always raving about it, the food was good, and the portions were huge enough to feed two persons from one plate. So I would caution when coming in....
