Din Tai Fung
21540 Hawthorne Blvd #519, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
If you love dumplings, then you have to try Din Tai Fung! This is my daughters favorite restaurant because she is obsessed with soup dumplings. Din Tai Fung is a Chinese restaurant that specializes in dumplings and noodles. They hand-make the dumplings and you can even watch them do it.Every time we come, my daughter does the ordering. She knows exactly what she wants. We start with the cucumber salad and a honey milk tea with boba. We then go crazy and get all the soup dumplings. We also order a variety of ? dumplings, and noodles with spicy sauce. The service was perfect! The wait staff was quick and attentive. The food of course was spot on! Everything tasted fresh and delightful. They are always super busy with long lines. So the ambiance inside is busy and loud. Which makes the experience even more fun. I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting in line. Especially on the weekend.

This five-star establishment is an absolute treasure for anyone seeking an authentic Hawaiian culinary experience in a casual setting. From the moment you step in, the warmth of Aloha spirit envelops you.The star of my dining experience was the Kalua Pork. This authentic Hawaiian dish was expertly prepared, with the pork being exceptionally tender and bursting with flavor. The smoky nuances of the traditional cooking method were evident in every succulent bite.My friend opted for the Fried Rice. This dish was remarkable in its own right, cooked to perfection with a symphony of flavors and fresh ingredients that complemented each other beautifully. What really amplified our dining experience was the relaxed atmosphere and the incredibly kind and patient staff. Despite us overstaying a bit, they were nothing but gracious and understanding, ensuring we always felt welcome. This restaurant delivers the authentic taste of Hawaii in a wonderfully comfortable setting. The brilliant execution of traditional recipes and the outstanding service make it a must-visit spot for any food lover. Whether youre seeking the comfort of Kalua Pork, a fantastic Fried Rice, or a journey through the flavors of Hawaii, this restaurant should be your next dining destination. Excited to eat here again with my husband!
Pestos Italian Restaurant
3879 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
Nice service, but this is not authentic Italian food... this is probably one of the top worst Pizza/Italian places Ive been to. The Sangria tasted like I made it myself (I am no chef), and the pizza tastes worse than the one my brother makes at home. My brother is at least half way decent, since he is half Italian, he tries.... I couldnt stomach or keep down a slice, I only took a few bites & stopped eating. It was just awful to me. The only thing I ate was the salad, and even then I didnt enjoy it. My mother is Italian, so we have a taste on what good Italian food is (Gaetanos, Bonellos, Scardinos, etc.) The setting is nice, the restaurant is nice, I like how it feels Italian, but they arent Italian. I repeat it is not Italian owned... I didnt want to be rude, and give it a 1-star, even though it almost is a one star. My mom rated it a 1 star, but I have my reasoning.Maybe one day Ill go back and buy wine and try out the pasta. I hope it wont disappoint me too much... but who knows. If you cant make pizza, I doubt the pasta will be any good or even al dente.I highly recommend going to one of the Bonellos locations, either in Lomita or the West Torrance area for authentic New York style pizza made by Italian-Americans.
Nijiya Market Torrance Store
2121 W 182nd St, Torrance, CA 90504, United States
Smaller, but good market with a big pre-prepared foods section and deli / restaurant. The parking can be hectic during busy times (like lunch) but if you come early or late, its usually fine. It can be very cold inside (especially when the suns not out) so bringing a jacket is probably a good idea.As a smaller market, it has just the essentials, but its more than good enough if all you want is food or cooking ingredients. Theres kind of a deli with a steam tray filled with a lot of fried foods, then a cold section after it with cooler foods on ice. You can also order from the restaurant that shares space with the deli, but not all the food is available until 11:00am.If you come later (after 7:00pm) theres a 50% discount on a lot of the remaining fried foods on the steam trays, but thats because its a small selection of stale foods, honestly.Ive eaten at the Deli / Restaurant often enough to say that while its usually good, that Ive also had some bland tasting stuff (like the Beef Bowl and hot soba) and the Karaage I ordered today tasted off / stale even though it usually tastes fine when I get it from the steam tray area. Today I ordered it from the restaurant as part of a set meal, and everything but the karaage tasted great. The karaage itself tasted like something was stale or bad. Either the oil, the breading, the chicken or maybe something else, but it tasted off and I had to force myself to finish it a little.I also feel like the pre-wrapped onigiri in those little plastic containers are worse than the cheaper ones that have the seaweed packaged separately despite being more expensive. I tend to avoid them now. The tempura shrimp onigiri at the Deli though is AMAZING however, and is one of the best Ive tasted period. One final note is that a lot of the pre-prepared food (if not most) features Akita Komachi rice, which is a kind of regional speciality rice that this Nijiya at least seems to feature in its products. If you want to try it, this is a good place to find it pre-cooked.
Ubon Thai Kitchen
24631 Crenshaw Blvd # J, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
Try it out!! It's sooo good! The food is amazing and the service is really great. The location is small but that doesn't really matter to me because the food is totally worth it. It was our first time there and I can't wait to go back!Tom Yum Seafood Soup - we ordered in large size which was big enough to share with two, maybe even three people. The broth had the perfect amount of spicy. They had a mix of seafood that included fish, shrimp, scallops, muscles, calamari (I think), and probably other types of seafood that I don't quite remember. Served super hot just the way I like it.Pad Thai - Delicious!!! Pad Thai Combination which includes all meats is always my go to and this one exceeds most that I've had. Their plate had a generous amount of noodles, bean sprouts in the side so you can mix them in to avoid them getting soggy. Yumm!Crispy Pork with Chinese Broccoli - I've never had anything like it. It was so so good. The pork was definitely crispy. It had that crunch you expect and it doesn't disappoint. They serve a whole coconuts!! That alone deserves 5 stars!!If you want something very spicy, ask for Thai spicy.
Taishi Hainan Chicken
1000 Torrance Blvd ste b, Redondo Beach, CA 90277, United States
So glad I finally found a great hainese chicken place near my area! The best part is that it is also a thai chinese hainese chicken place, and it honestly makes me so happy since I grew up eating chicken over rice thai style most of my life. Their menu is limited but honestly it helps when youre not the best at narrowing down your options. I decided to get the fried chicken plate along with the free herbal chicken soup for checking in #protip. I have to say I enjoyed every bite from the soothing soup to the garlicky rice to the moist tender chicken to the flavorful sauces! They have amazing variety in their sauces but my favorite was definitely the classic thai hainese sauce. There wasnt anything that I didnt enjoy about the dish. It was definitely one of the best hainese chicken dishes I have had and is on par with my moms own hainese chicken.! Service !The service was super fast and prompt, and we were quickly greeted immediately as soon as we walked through the door. The person who took our order was especially nice, since he accomadated my order of extra garlic in my rice and additional sauces.!Price Point!Initially I thought the price was a bit on the expensive side for $13, but was I wrong! The portions were big enough for at least 2 people with heaps of chicken. The only downside was the rice to chicken ratio since there was sooo much chicken.!Ambiance!A great place to grab a quick sit down bite. Its set up where you order and pick up your food, similar to that of a food court.!TLDR!Definitely an amazing place to come grab delicious thai style hainese chicken. The service was great, the food was amazing, what more can you ask for.
Matsui
21605 S Western Ave # G, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
Memorial day weekend 2019I am giving a 2 only because the staff was very friendly and efficient in getting our food out to us in a short amount of time. For reference, I was the only non-Japanese/Japanese-American person in our group. My step-son wanted Japanese food for dinner, so my mother-in-law picked this place because of the high reviews. Those, in our party, whom know what authentic Japanese dishes taste like all stated that it was not good and that they would not return.I have come to appreciate the flavors in Japanese dishes, and found that my dish, pork tonkatsu over rice, was not prepared the way I expected. First of all the overcooked egg covered the entire top of the bowl. Secondly, there was a sweetness in the dish, which could have come from the onion, but it was not expected. Now, if I didnt understand what the dish should taste like, and overcooked egg withstanding, I would come back and get the dish again.
H Mart Torrance
4340 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
I want to give it a higher rating, however the side entrance being the primary entrance to me is a big turn off. If you are ever at this location pay close attention about their main entrance, as typical retail experience - customers will enter from the most obvious and noticeable entrance, which in the case the front of the building. But in the case of this H-Mart, the main entrance is at the side, and multiple temp signs are put up to say the front entrance is an exit only.So from a customer perspective its weird, from a retail experience design point of view I can understand they would like people to start from produce and make their way through each section and lastly leave at checkout and maybe stay a bit at food court. But the side entrance is not obvious and because handicap ramp is at the front, ramp access is double as cart access. At least thats the way I figure, since there were no easy way to push carts without maneuvering around the h-Mart curb obstacle course...One more thing, most of the time people enter and leave from same entrance, exit. Since it is already somewhat confusing where main = side entrance is. When they are about to close at 10 (meaning at 8:30) the front of building (exit only) is already closed... That is 1:30min prior to closing, it really doesnt make sense to shut that part off.Anyways h-mart is a grocery store, so produce price are actually pretty good. Just please expect some curb obstacles and weird entrance from this particular h-martNote self - if I ever have to design a super market never put main entrance hidden visible vantage point, as it is freaking confusing (refer to h-mart Torrance location) as of 6/26/2016
Cho Dang Tofu
2814 Sepulveda Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
Do you want real korean food with out the hard work of cooking your self like KBBQ. Then this is your place. They have huge succulent short ribs. Shows up on an iron skillet sizzling away. Thick cuts with lots of meat and just the right amount of fat.Three different types of bulgogi. Beef Dry, beef wet with noodles and a pork kind. Our fav is the Beef with noodles. We have never had this anywhere else. No one offers that we have seen. So this is a delight.Spicy tofu with seafood and or beef is great as well. It shows up in a bubbling cauldron/earthenware and makes you immediately smile with joy.The banchan is great. With all the kimche and pickled stuff we like. Like the pickles and bean sprouts. The service that we have had from the hajimas is polite and fast. They are very nice waitresses who will take care of you. We have yet to experience anything bad here. Since they have opened this place has always been a gem in Torrance.Enjoy and Stay Wild!
