Agree with another reviewer, the food was bland and overpriced. Our usual Chinese restaurant was closed so I decided to give them a try, never again. Waste of my money.

Lucky Chinese Restaurant

Every town has a cherished Chinese restaurant that the locals love. Lucky Chinese Restaurant in El Centro is it. The positives about this place easily outweighs any negatives. Request for the stir fried green onions with lemon and salt as an appetizer and youll understand why this place is like no other! The orange chicken, Luckys chow mein, and hot and sour soup are all uniquely flavored and cooked with a Mexi-American Chinese fusion flair. The friendly, fast, and overall vibe of this place is what makes El Centro and Luckys so great. No, this place is not your typical Chinese restaurant....so dont even compare. Its an amazing establishment thats been in El Centro for over 30 years (with some of the waiters who have worked there for 20+ years).I look forward to taking my family back to Luckys!

This is my go-to American-Chinese food place. Service has always been pretty quick. I love the food here but there are things that keep me from giving it 5 stars.1) Depending on the worker, I always have trouble getting condiments and chopsticks. I either order it and they simply forget to put it in the bag or the cashier hurries me to take the food and go.2) I get it. Food service is stressful especially in rushes. Ive worked food service before. But the cashiers can sometimes be rude and theyll try to rush you out before you can get your last extra bit of things. (Like I said, on most orders I like to get packets of teriyaki sauce and chopsticks and Im usually hurries out or I order it and they forget to put it in the bag).3) The quality of the food and the taste especially always changes drastically. I dont if this has to do with the cook or maybe the restaurant HQ keeps changing the recipe but their was a time when their Teriyaki chicken was slapping (really good). It was one of my go to entrees, and lately its been really lack luster. The chicken can either be too stringy or rubbery and it has barely any seasoning to it. The sauce also can be very plain now. The orange chicken depends on whether or not you get a fresh batch. Sometimes older batches dont taste as great which is not something you can do much about, but the chicken sizes, that is definitely something that can be change. Sometimes the orange chicken pieces will be the size of the entire chicken breast (obviously Im exaggerating) but the pieces can be too big at times which I have noticed it doesnt cook the chicken very well. I used to get their fried rice but it got to a point where I felt like a balloon every time I ate it.Only reason Im giving it 4 stars and not 3 is because I have been a recurring customer for many years now. I still like the food here but overall the quality of the food has gone down drastically and the quality of the service could have some minor improvements.

Service was excellent. However, the BBQ pork fried rice was the talk of my tastebuds! Theres actual egg and a great mix of veggies and enough pork that i was getting a piece or 2 with every bite! The Bbq pork chow mein was also an excellent dish and even with noodles I was getting a peice of pork or 2 with most bites. The noodles were savory and the rice was flavorful! I have eaten at dozens of other chinese restaurants and am very picky about my pork fried. This place has the 3rd best fried rice out of all the places I have been! My new favorite place to go in El Centro!!

Some of my favorite Chinese food from the valley. If I don’t have time to sit down and go to a restaurant this place is the go to.

Food was good but not exceptional. The soft noodles were very tasty. Service was fast & friendly. Still pricey for El Centro though. Not as much food served for the money as other Chinese restaurants in town.

Really good Chinese/Baja mex food.In case you don’t know the history of Chinese immigrants in the region, to be exact Mexicali, this is one of the Chinese restaurants still here with influence from the Chinese population that lived and flourished in Mexicali, when Chinese moved to Mexicali Mexico after the US passed the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. This is one of the few, if not the only region, Mexicali and Imperial County, where you will get Chinese food that has some Mexican ingredients from over 140 years of tradition.

They have one of the best Chinese food in imperial valley, service is amazing, and it is comparable in price to the other Chinese restaurants in imperial valley. ---The only thing is that the place is too small, they need to expand or move into a bigger building---
