Ming Hing Restaurant
2550 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
Updated review 7/7/2022: Wing Hing is gone. Now it is Ming Hing. New people are working here with their fancy computer ordering system. Unfortunately, the restaurant was empty with a small line for BBQ items. My braised beef brisket wonton noodles $13 was OK. They actually separated the soup from the noodles and beef. Wow.I hope the old store owner lady from Wing Hing retired. They stayed opened for take-out when most of the Chinese restaurants in San Francisco were closed during the lock down in 2020. It helped me and the community a lot. As a single guy who doesnt cook, I might have starved. Their BBQ pork over rice, chow fun, crispy noodles and porridge were some of my favorites. The chef at Ming Hing was good. I asked the new staff if they knew what happened to the old owner and they didnt know.Indoor dining tonight 3/11/2021. My original plan was to eat at J P Cafe next door at 2546 San Bruno Cafe for their Hong Kong style Cantonese baked pork chop spaghetti. Unfortunately, J P Cafe/2546 San Bruno Cafe have been closed for the last month. The good news was, I was able to enjoy a Hong Kong style tomato beef crispy noodles $11 at Wing Hing instead. The noodles came out fast. Hardly anyone was dining indoors and I felt safe. This place is kinda of dingy so dont expect new chairs or table here. I cant wait to try other dishes. Good job Wing Hing. Dinner plans were saved because you were opened for indoor dining.
Imperial Garden Seafood Restaurant
2626 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
I usually go to Chinese restaurants expecting subpar service but tasty food at a low cost. This place has terrible service, average food, at a high cost, skip this place if you can.Never have I ever had to chase down a waiter to place an order or to get a tea refill. We had to hand someone our teapot to get a refill only for the waiter to loudly go tch and reluctantly take it. Youre better off going to any of the other smaller Chinese restaurants on San Bruno.
Ling Ling Cuisine Restaurant
2517 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
I think Ling Ling is the only Chinese restaurant on San Bruno Ave that cooks decent spicy chinese food. The food quality is a hit & miss though. It varies depending on which chef cooked it.We usually pickup to go. The kung pao chicken & mongolian beef are sometimes a bit bland & meat chucks are a bit too thick & big for me so I tend to cut them into halves & then restir-fried them with some soy & chili oil or jalapenos/chilis. The Shanghai noodles are thick & flavorful the way we like it. The shredded potatoes & salt & pepper pork chops are good as well. But, sometimes the porks chops arent as crunchy or crispy as we like because they didnt cut an opening to let out the steam. They do take credit cards. I wish they did deliveries since parking is kind of difficult. Their to go containers are cheap plastic containers that arent really meant for hot food. The containers usually breakapart at the folding area so I normally transfer the food to glass containers at home. Sometimes, the containers would be slightly warped at the bottom from the hot food too which concerns me.

Hing Lung
1230 El Camino Real P, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
I was a big fan of the original Hing Lung located in San Francisco Chinatown. It had the hands down best porridge and Chinese fried donut in the Bay Area. Despite it having poor health poor, pest problem, I kept going back. When I found out that they reopened in San Bruno, I had to go check out.I must admit, the food was the same... maybe even better. The dishes seem a bit more refined and well put together. There are even more menu options now like ramen. I wouldnt order ramen at a Chinese place, but its there. I dont seem to understand why people comment so much about the poor service. Hing Lung its a restaurant where people go in, eat and get out. The staff takes your order, brings you water or tea, then your food, and finally your bill. When you expect any more than that, expect to pay more and you end up complaining about that. Yes, MSG is present and the food taste damn good. Im sure everyone lining up to get into this place will agree. Hing Lung has been a staple in my diet for over 30 years and will continue to be so.
Panda Express
1150 El Camino Real, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
If you like getting getting far less and paying way more, this is the place for you!I love the food court at Tanforan. Lots of choices with plenty of good eats but not at Panda Express. Getting into the meat of the issue, they purposely make the main dish as tiny as possible and the cheap side the main dish. A good example is asking for their new Peking pork and getting a single 1/8th spoon plop in the corner and 7/8ths fried rice as the side. Also for as expensive as their fountain drinks are ($1.90 for a large) they charge $.53 cents for the refill. For you math majors, the cup and the straw are less then 2 cents a pop so even if they gave you a free refill it would still make them profit. But thats not good enough for Panda Express. Im tired of wasting my money here and I recommend you do the same.
Hong Kong BBQ Restaurant
2728 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
I was trying not to cry at this restaurant. It was a Chinese couple and they were so kind and caring. I ordered a party tray and I was given a free ice cream and egg roll while I was waiting. They reminded me of my grandparents and I they offered to help me to my car. I tried thanking them in my broken Cantonese. They were so kind and they reminded me of my Chinese grandparents (no longer with me so it hit me hard). I’m coming back again
Sunshine Wheat Field Dim Sum
2668 San Bruno Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134, United States
First time at this place and their deep fried shrimp puffs are soooo good. Crispy crunchy and mm good, ordered a 50pc and they gave us 3 plates of it .. it was still crunchy hours later. Ordered two of everything that was on display however I forgot to ask for their pork buns. Their porridge is similar to what we eat in the island and it definitely brought back memories of chicken soup with rice.Gotta go back and try their steam buns. The only minus for me is whatever ingredients they use for their pork that I dont like so the pot stickers and pancake pork wasnt to my liking but everything else I really enjoyed and its ok because everyones palate is different. The staff was nice and I could tell that this place is popular, where theres a line outside thats a spot everyone has to try.
Mings
436 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
A fairly traditional Chinese restaurant that may not always honor requests for customizing your meal, so if you are one of those who thinks you can always customize your meal just because you are willing to pay extra for it, you may run into some trouble.Otherwise, the portions are always very large, and prices are always very good. Please also note that being Asian, I understand how some of us are not used to always smile at the customers, but I do not think it is a sign of unwelcoming, but it is definitely something you may need some time to get accustomed to.Nonetheless, value is unbeatable with their ample portion and good prices, and quality has also been reasonably consistent.
Boiling Beijing
649 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, United States
I did not get peiking duck or hot pot as peiking duck requires then to call 1.5hr before your arrival. So I ordered all the other good stuffs.. fries chicken with red chilli, pork belly with jalapeno, boiled whole fish, Angus black pepper beef, dun dun noodles, spinach.. mostly disappointed.. Angus beef was good just like any other good steak would be in any corner store, does not take much to cook that.. the spinach was ok..but had corns which is weird.. typically corn is not most popular Chinese vegetables .. rest of the stuffs - not so much.. not going back all the way to San Bruno frok south San Jose - contrary to many some reviews I found this restaurant ordinary.. there are other choices out there, specifically if you are szechwan food lover and not obsessed with northern Chinese food..
