Not bad at all. I would consider them more of a Korean than a Japanese restaurant. Their bibimbap and kimchi fried rice is outstanding.

I live near this place and was a great go to whenever we got the crave. Post pandemic now is only pick up and we've been twice. The food has been horrible. Small stale fish that was crusty around the edges. Salad is a handful of old iceberg thown in a styrophone container with no care. No veggies in the salad. Really bad seaweed salad was tasteless and had a texture I was afraid of. It is one of my favorite dishes but I could not choke this down. Bottom line is I spent $70 to have a nice sushi dinner and ended up tossing it. I can't stress how bad this was. Too bad because being only pick up you get the food home and it's too late and the evening is ruined. Never again. I would be embarrassed to serve such poor quality.

Finally, a Sushi restaurant that meets the taste buds of a Bay Area transplant. This is the finest Japanese restaurant in the area and youd have to travel 45-minutes away to find something comparable. I know, Ive tried them all after moving here 6-years ago. Ive been eating Sashimi & Sushi since 1972 before it was popular in America. For many years I frequented fine Japanese restaurants in Boston, New York and San Francisco. Hank is an awesome Sushi chef and person. You can trust him and the quality of his food. Enjoy !!

Great sushi/Japanese restaurant. Of course their rolls are delicious, but their chicken katsu, potato croquettes, and gyoza are also favorites of ours. They also have the glass ball soda which is always never enough ?

Not even worth one star. This place is a disgrace to Japanese cuisine. Period. Full-Stop. Staff is fine; food is disgusting. Ive been eating Japanese food, Sashimi & Sushi since 1973 where I began in Boston. Have primarily lived in Boston, New York City & San Francisco, so yes, I know this cuisine. I certainly didnt expect this to come close to the excellent restaurants Ive been fortunate to frequent, but if McDonalds is a 2 to what a good burger is, this is a -10 to what good Japanese food is. Seaweed salad was dull. Fried soft shell crab was absolutely gross. Think of good tempura and that was the opposite of what comes to your mind, soggy and fishy. Sushi was low grade. The sushi rice was soggy and used to excess. Ill just stop here and take no delight in trashing any establishment, but this should be a wake up call for the owner. Honestly, the only sushi restaurant that is good in the entire area is Kaido in Grass Valley. For superior sushi/sashimi, the to-go place is Sushi In The Raw in Nevada City. Ive tried many in the Placer County area and frankly, Id rather go to jack in the box.

Last year was my twentieth wedding anniversary. To celebrate, I surprised my wife with a dinner at the place where we were married, Rainbow Lodge in Soda Springs. A web search of nearby caters in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area struck gold.Megan was so responsive and engaging upon our first contact, I knew that I had found exactly what I was looking for - a passionate host with great attention to ones individual needs and desires. She worked with me to plan a lavish charcuterie board appetizer, a choice of soup or salad, followed by sumptuous Mediterranean infused chicken or salmon, and topped off with homemade tiramisu from a recipe acquired while visiting Italy. Sadly, the only food photos taken were of the charcuterie board - but that alone should seal the deal.Simple words cannot do the meal justice. They cannot express how pleased and satisfied everyone was who attended. If it had not been for a stroke of good luck, we would have totally missed out on the once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience we were fortunate enough to stumble across.Do yourself a favor: take the time to work with Megan and Noah. They will reward you, as they did me, my wife, and all our family and friends, with a dining experience you will never forget.

Itd be GREATLY appreciated if your baked goods had more descriptive titles on the front labels! Specifically, please update the titles of items that include ingredients that a customer might not immediately see visually on a product (i.e. change the Chocolate Chip Bars --> Chocolate Chip Coconut Bars & change Coffee Cake --> Coffee Cake with Walnuts).Technically speaking, by food labeling standards, your items do comply with major food allergen labeling practices (e.g. nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, etc.). However, because all of the items sold have the same basic labeling, customers will inevitably have a more difficult time deciphering labels unless they sift thru all of your products, turning each individual item type over to read the ingredient list.Having item titles themselves be more descriptive would not only save customers time if they have major allergies, but allow customers like me who DONT want those ingredients to make more informed choices so they arent forced to check the ingredient label on every product. In my case, every item I purchased was something I didnt like because of ingredients I didnt expect in them. With the chocolate chip bar, I thought that might be a blondie-type item, but I wouldve never guessed something with coconut given it wasnt labeled as such on the front. Most nut-containing coffee cakes Ive come across have at least SOME sort of additional labeling about the nuts, or that it doesnt have nuts, so the lack of any labeling adds ambiguity. Again, I know this adds time & labor to someones already-long list of tasks, but it would be very greatly appreciated from the customer standpoint if this could be considered ???
