Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ
116 S San Fernando Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
With all the Japanese restaurants in this area you’d think the folks who work here would try and not be actively hostile to customers. But they’ve got a hostess who seems to resent the presence of diners unless it’s a party of her drunk friends. If you’re craving Japanese just walk two blocks up Sam Fernando and take your pick of half a dozen better places

Tatsu Sushi Japanese Cuisine
4408 W Magnolia Blvd, Burbank, CA 91505, United States
Service was bad and food is average. When I walked in there, there were about six tables one big table about to leave. There was one server for all those table. There was a lady around to help somewhat, she seemed like the owner. The server offered me at booth and he was gonna wipe it down he never came back to wipe it down he started doing a bunch of other stuff for other tables. So I eventually sat myself and grabbed my own menu at a different table. Then he finally comes over and offers me something to drink I asked for water and I had my order ready I asked for a straw for my water he never came with that. I accidentally spilled my miso soup and he came back with a dirty rag to wipe my spill. I again had to ask for a straw he finally came back with it as he was wiping my table but forgot to give it to me so I had to get it from his hand. Then he said I'll bring out your salad and the salad never came. I ordered a lunch special with a Mexican roll which is just a California roll with spicy “crab” And a black garlic Ramen soup. I can't say bad things about the food It just didn't wow me. Finally he realized he never brought my salad and brought it right before I asked for my check it was Romain lettuce a citrus dressing and corn. Super weird to me, I didn't even touch that. I probably won't go back because the food wasn't worth the service maybe it was an off day but there weren't that many tables to where he couldn't finish a request from 1 customer without getting involved at other tables. Learn how to be more efficient.

Kopan Sushi & Ramen
220 N San Fernando Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
I realllyyyy love this place. I’ve only been here once, and I can’t wait to go again. I ended up getting a bento box. I’ve been to a lot of Japanese restaurants, and I think the tonkatsu (pork cutlet) here was the best one I’ve had so far. It was super crispy and tender. I also loved the spicy tuna roll. It wasn’t thick on the rice and had a lot of tuna. The mango green tea was really good too.The ambience is also nice. I wanna try sitting at the booth next time they’re so cute.

Kabuki Japanese Restaurant
201 N San Fernando Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
This is a decent Japanese restaurant on the corner of San Fernando Blvd in downtown Burbank. I think that Kabuki is part of a chain, but this one is impressive. The food is well prepared and presentation is excellent. There is a good selection of meals available and an impressive variety of sushi rolls, with specials every week. There is plenty of space in the restaurant and there were many families when I was there. The food is all prepared in front of you and the service is reasonably fast. Prices were reasonable for Japanese in Cali. A good selection of drinks is available including sake and Japanese beer. Plenty of parking is available in the nearby ramps or on the streets.

Tokyoya Sushi
520 S Glenoaks Blvd, Burbank, CA 91501, United States
Tokyoya Sushi was very good during its soft opening many years ago. Then suddenly, they changed their format and offered bento boxes. I see that they are receiving a lot of good reviews recently but last night maybe it was just a fluke but my boyfriend brought home food and it was substandard. I was not happy. The sashimi was warm almost like it was seared ahi. Maybe sashimi doesnt travel well. But then the teriyaki salmon was so hard and dry. The veggie tempura tasted sour and like boiled cabbages. I am not sure what happened. It was just a bad day? The miso soup was good but the salad was just leaves of spinach. I was afraid to even try the beef teriyaki. It didnt look good at all. I am afraid to give this place another try. Prior experience was also lackluster. Ever since Momotaro closed in Burbank, we have yet to find a Japanese restaurant that meets Momotaros calibre. Our favorite now is Ichima in Pasadena. But the best sashimi hands down is H Mart in Arcadia.Update a day later. I only ate the soup and the salad and I tasted the fish. I spit out the sashimi. In an effort not to waste food and money, my boyfriend took all the food and ate it for lunch. He went home from work sick with a stomach ache and more. He will survive but today he is still recovering. We should have taken it back but it was after hours and thats our lesson learned. We wont be going back.

Sushi Dake

Good food, friendly staff, intimate space. Just the sort of small, family-run Japanese restaurant I like. And they take reservations. You just have to promise to be on time!

Silverlake Ramen Burbank
175 E Palm Ave, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
My 1st experience with this chain was with their new location out in Porter Ranch and that was a pleasant experience overall experience. I have to say its one of my top Ramen spots now. I was happy to see the Burbank location finally open up unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible.... It took the server (young looking teen) with a lousy attitude over 8 mins to come to our table to take our order and mind you the place was a bit over 1/2 full...While taking our order my fiance ordered a beer which is when we found out they do not serve alcohol here. The server instead said he would just bring us water never mind that I planned on ordered an ice tea... From here we waited 35 minutes and our food (x2 Tonkatsu Ramen) were still not out... My hangry fiance just had enough @ this point and said she wanted to leave and I agreed. At no point did anyone bother comingvup to us or any of the other guest to let us know that maybe they were super backed up and would take significantly longer than usual. Any type of communication would have gone a long way but instead they did nothing. My fiance and I got up and left. We say the couple sitting next to us do the same thing....Management, youre doing a terrible job. Step it up and talk to your servers about at least smiling and not rushing your customers....

Oku-Niku Japanese BBQ (Previously known as Roku...
4013 W Riverside Dr, Burbank, CA 91505, United States
Normally, I don’t write a lot of Google reviews. I found this place online and decided to give it a try with my wife. It was awesome. We decided to try to $55.00 AYCE. The meat and seafood selection were great and plenty. The beef was tender, and seafood was fresh. The restaurant offered high quality sushi and the side dishes were very tasty for a Japanese BBQ. Service was very pleasant, and we were served quickly. We just found out favorite Japanese AYCE BBQ.
