Sushi Bar Blue Fin
257 N El Camino Real D, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
The sushis taste are wonderful and the staffs are nice but i have a small critisism. I really wondered tonight because the staffs were more quick and fast last time i came there but tonight they got our orders with long delays and we waited like 45minute to receive our orders. It not happened only for us it happened for other costumers as well. They were always asking about their orders. Its just a notion. I hope you will not feel upset about my critisism. I only want you get better on your customer service. Thanks a lot
Kaito Sushi
130-A N El Camino Real, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
Finally, an awesome Japanese restaurant. Our favorite Japanese restaurant closed about 3 years ago in Encinitas. Since, we have been in search of another with no success we had pretty much given up until a close Japanese friend had found Kaito Sushi and told us about it. Even with the outside dining restrictions due to COVID, we had an excellent, authentic meal along with our typical sushi and sashimi orders. The head chef is Japanese and his combination of flavors was outstanding. Highly recommend ?! What a find indeed!
Surf Brothers Teriyaki and Catering
274 N El Camino Real A, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
I have been eating here (and its previously named iterations) for more than 20 years. It is my favorite place for teriyaki.Their rice is so so so good. Sticky and slightly sweet. It is a great vehicle for the teriyaki sauce. And the chicken and steak are both cooked well, they arent greasy or full of connective tissue. Now, the sauce. This sauce is to die for. I would buy it by the gallon, if they sold it that way. I moved from Encinitas to Santee almost 7 years ago, and I still drive up to eat, and buy sauce to go. They do sell bottles of sauce. Its sweet, but not too sweet. It doesnt have that excessive saltiness that is common with most store bought teriyaki. The viscosity is perfect, so it can be used for dipping, or pour it onto foods directly, and you arent going to end up with too little or too much.I dont have photos of the delicious food, the generous portions, or the glorious sauce. It is consumed far too quickly. Its just too good to wait.
East Village Asian Diner

Oh my God this is actually the most amazing and delicious restaurant in San Diego. I was walking by it one day and decided to try it and Im so happy I did.Ive Only gotten the Mongol pot (I think thats what its called) and its so good. All it is is a bunch of vegetables, some meat of your choice (they also have vegan options and you dont even need to order meat), white or brown rice, and an egg. You can also substitute the rice with kale and add or take away anything you want. They serve it in a really hot bowl that keeps the food warm the entire time youre eating it (its what makes the food so delicious). However, you should take their advice and never touch the bowl under any circumstances ever unless you want to burn yourself. Anyways, so on top you can add their sauces and some Sriracha and it all melts together. to be honest Im not even the biggest fan of vegetables but they become so tender and flavorful that it would be a shame to eat the bowl without it.In terms of the restaurant, its very rustic and clean. The waiter that works their is really chill and cool so Ive never had a problem with the service. The price of the bowl is around $9 with no meat and with beef (which is what I highly recommend) its around $14 after taxes. You get so much food and its so delicious that its really worth it in my opinion.Tl;dr If you are looking for a healthy place to eat thats extremely delicious and unique, I highly recommend eating here.
Hooked on Sushi
272 N El Camino Real, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
I had the pleasure of dining at Hooked on Sushi, and it was an experience that I think is worth sharing. It was an unusual scenario because I arrived just 20 minutes before closing time. Despite the timing, the staff welcomed me with open arms and displayed genuine warmth and hospitality.I could tell they were preparing to wrap up for the day, but they didn't let this show in their demeanor or in the quality of their service. If anything, they seemed to go the extra mile to ensure my dining experience was as good as any other customer's would be at peak hours.I want to commend the staff for their professional conduct. I understand that my late arrival could have been an inconvenience, and I appreciate their graciousness in accommodating me. The level of service I received was beyond what I expected, and it's not something you come across every day.As for the sushi, it was a feast for the taste buds. Every piece was a perfect blend of flavors and freshness, testament to the chefs' skills and passion. In conclusion, Hooked on Sushi not only won me over with their fantastic food but also with their exceptional customer service. They've set the bar high for hospitality in the industry, and I can't wait for my next visit. My sincere thanks to the team at Hooked on Sushi - I hope this review conveys just how much I appreciated your efforts last night.

Global Basecamps
937 S Coast Hwy 101 c209, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
My travel group of 4 used Global Basecamps to plan a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan and I have only incredible things to say about the company. I reached out to the company about a year before our travel dates, and over the course of that year our Japan trip representative, Laura, spent so much time with us to plan our perfect trip. We talked on the phone and emailed, and Laura was consistently a fantastic communicator. We had a general idea of what we wanted to do in Japan, but what I most impressed with was the knowledge Laura had of the country. She listened to the types of activities that our group enjoys doing, then she provided spot-on recommendations for our trip. I can honestly say that if it werent for Global Basecamps then we would have missed out on so many incredible parts of Japan. They planned a 2 week trip for us that included the big cities (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka), but also includes so many rural areas and small towns that were just beautiful (Takayama, Hakone). Laura also recommended and planned a 3 day hike through the Kumano Kodo area, which we had never heard of until speaking with her. This allowed us to escape to nature while on our trip and soak in the Japanese countryside. Global Basecamps took care of literally all of our logistics--hotels, ryokans, trains, buses, taxis, etc. We were provided a full, easy-to-read itinerary prior to our start date, and we used these guides throughout the trip. The guides provided our logistics information as well as restaurant and sightseeing recommendations for every city. This was a great resource for us. We were provided local contacts during our trip so at any point if we had a question or need we had someone to reach out to. The level of service provided was spectacular. Global Basecamps provided us personalized service, superb trip planning, and ultimately a Japanese trip that we will never forget. I cannot recommend this company enough. If you are looking to plan something incredible then use Global Basecamps.
San Diego Botanic Garden
300 Quail Gardens Drive, Ecke Ranch Rd at, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
During a visit to the San Diego Botanical Gardens, I was filled with anticipation, considering the regions renowned climate and its potential for lush, vibrant landscapes. While the gardens are indeed a pleasant retreat, offering a decent variety of flora and serene walkways, I must confess they didnt quite live up to the high expectations I had set based on other botanical gardens Ive had the pleasure of visiting. The San Diego climate, known for its warmth and sunshine, seems like it would be the perfect backdrop for an expansive and exotic collection of plants and flowers. However, I found the variety and presentation at the San Diego Botanical Gardens to be somewhat lacking in comparison. Its certainly nice, with well-maintained paths, a peaceful atmosphere, and several lovely spots to sit and take in the surroundings, but it doesnt quite offer the wow factor or the educational depth Ive encountered elsewhere. That said, there are definitely highlights worth mentioning. The garden does offer a few unique specimens and themed sections that capture the imagination, and its clear that the staff puts a lot of effort into the maintenance and design of the space. Its a good place for a leisurely stroll, to unwind, or even to find a quiet spot for reading or reflection. The admission price is reasonable, and considering the effort that goes into keeping the gardens beautiful, it feels fair. The facility also hosts events and educational programs from time to time, which I can imagine would add value to a visit. In conclusion, while the San Diego Botanical Gardens might not have left me as awestruck as some other gardens have, it remains a nice spot for those looking to enjoy a bit of nature. It offers a tranquil environment to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, even if it doesnt quite reach the botanical richness one might expect given the local climate. Its worth a visit if youre in the area and looking for a pleasant outdoor activity.
Fish 101 Leucadia
1468 N Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA 92024, United States
Great local eatery for seafood with an amazing beach side vibe and laid back decor.Food: 5/5 seafood known for their great fresh catch, fun selection of cold drinks, and oysters. This eatery is amazing. It's a local shop in the Encinitas area off of the 101 highway. They offer fresh oysters for only a dollar apiece during their happy hour. They have a decent selection and it is first come first serve. They shuck the oysters and leave it on an ice cold platter with homemade sauces and fresh lemon. The oysters are sweet and succulent and you can get as many as you like while they last. There is also an amazing selection fresh fish. The fish is cooked several different ways. The fish tacos are another solid staple that is a winner here. The fish is also locally caught so it's very fresh...the way seafood should be prepared. They also offer a few sandwiches that are wonderfully seasoned and always hot and ready.Service and seating: 5/5The service is great. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help. It makes the dining experience extremely enjoyable. The restaurant itself is a bit small so if you plan on dining here then arrive early so you can find a table on the inside or in the back patio area. They also have some seating in front of the restaurant. This is a very popular eatery therefore there's always people arriving and filling up seats. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge. There is only parking in front of the restaurant and down a little ways. There is dirt parking across the street near the railroad tracks. Be mindful when you cross the street.Overall this is a great beachside eatery that is fun and family friendly. The fresh seafood is top notch and the service is inviting and friendly. Make sure you stop by this eatery if you are along the beautiful coastline. You will definitely thank yourself!
