House of Joy Chinese Restaurant
818 N Pacific Ave Ste I, Glendale, CA 91203, United States
First of all, I only write bad reviews Bec any business out there should always be good since they make money off of customers. I know they can't be perfect, but they should always strive to give good impressions on the customers. I ran many businesses myself - retail but not restaurant.I should have looked at the menu but family member ordered ahead of time. Because I was surprised to get charged 18% tip (that's on TOTAL, not subtotal!!! which is how any restaurant should calculate!!!) Why in the world do you need to tip on sales tax??!! And I DO NOT like any restaurants that make tip mandatory!Tip should be optional depending on the service/food, never mandatory! No wonder we have “tip fatigue” in our society.Their cha chan mein ($14)and jaam-pong ($16) is too expensive compared to K-town Chinese restaurants. But their Peking chicken is always good (but not good enough for $29).All in all, place is too expensive and mandatory tip is outrageous so I don't want to go back.
Morihiro
3133 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039, United States
Truthfully, I dont want to write this five star review. it would be a 10 star review if I could share it. but, the trouble is, Chef Morihiros spot in Atwater is so small, few if any Angelenos should know about it. And those who know, should not share. why? because it is too good. and too good gets over-known, over-blown, and then those of us who are locals, neighbors, devotees, passionate enthusiasts get left waiting in line behind trendsters. I had the privilege and the honor to meet Chef Mori on my visit tonight to his restaurant. I was grateful to enjoy a Chef Mori facing sushi bar spot, for a premium price, but an amazing value. I was grateful to meet two lovely regulars with whom to enjoy our covid-vaccinated-yet-perhaps-less-socially-distanced-than-one-might-like experiencce at the sushi bar, in the presence of greatness. that greatness was not just Chef Mori and his team, but the pacing of the food. The pacing of the sake pairings. The attentiveness of the staff--- with water, with explanations, with space and time.My meal was nothing short of exquisite. I could explain each and every course, which I described in detail for my own personal journal, but that would spoil the greatness and joy of the OMAKASE experience here. Besides, I understand that it changes from meal to meal, omakase to omakase... chef Moris choice, indeed.I adored chatting with Chef Mori, with the folks at the sushi bar, with the staff, and in wild and crazy times, being able to celebrate a few moments of utter magic in the japanese kitchen. as a vegetarian who said screw it, bring it on, to the sushi omakase experience, my belly is still happy, my conscience is clear, and as my newfound friends eating beside me and I both shared, were it to be the last meal ever, wed all be gratefully thanking the Gods for the opportunity. Chef Mori and his new spot is a Level Up.... transformative. Greatest in the game. And I am so thankful for every bite. Cant wait to return.... and hope my Chef remembers my love of his ceramics ;).> Best in Los Angeles!
Crazy Rockn Sushi - Glendale

Great Japanese restaurant in Glendale. Dishes are fairly priced and good-sized. We shared three sushi entrees between 3 girls and it was more than enough. Everything was really tasty.

Buko Restaurant
327 N Verdugo Rd, Glendale, CA 91206, United States
The prices are very reasonable and the portions are good. Service is usually awesome, but on occasion theyll forget something especially when it gets crazy busy. A gentle reminder and its remedied as quickly and courteously as possible. We usually get the dinner combo (~$15...comes with ice cream!) and weve been very happy. The sushi/sashimi is always very fresh and the presentation is lovely. Teriyaki beef/chicken/salmon is tender, favourful and cooked perfectly. The tempura, short-ribs, katsu dishes, assorted salad plates weve tried have all been very good. There are always a few specials on the board (I.e. curry) so I think I might try that next.

Oishi Sushi
308 N Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91203, United States
Not only were they open on a holiday, but the food was very good. They have no-carb options as well as the traditional Japanese fare. The prices are about the same as any sit down Japanese restaurant. They have online ordering if you want to do takeout. It of the at least 4 options in the area, this one is pretty darn good.

Kumadori
143 Artsakh Ave, Glendale, CA 91205, United States
I have been to Kumadori before and have always really enjoyed my experience, the service and of course the food. But tonight....tonight was stellar!!! We ordered:- No. 6 Roll: shrimp tempura wrapped in soy paper topped with fresh tuna, spicy creamy sauce, and wasabi tobiko- Baked Langostino Roll: california roll topped with baked crawfish, mushroom and dynamite sauce- Special Spicy Rainbow Roll: shrimp, asparagus and cucumber wrapped with tuna, salmon, tilapia and avocado- Pink Lady: spicy crabmeat and avocado wrapped in salmon on top of cucumber slices.I have a bad habit at times of sticking to the usual rolls that I gravitate towards but today I decided to step outside my sushi bubble a bit! And..the pay off? I loved everything that I tried! The Pink Lady was so simple yet robust - really celebrated the creaminess of the salmon itself. The Special Spicy Rainbow Roll had a good balance of spice, freshness, and crunch! Woooo ....and the spice from the No.6 had me refilling my water glass but it was a good burn!
Teriyaki Me
207 W Wilson Ave, Glendale, CA 91203, United States
Havent been here since 2013 when I worked in Glendale and I wanted my wife to try it since we were passing through. Did not disappoint. Some of the best teriyaki in the greater Los Angeles area in my opinion. And I grew up in a part of the country that spoiled me with bomb teriyaki so its always nice to find a place thats on par! Its all about the chicken thighs. Their sauce, hot sauce and dressing took me back to a different time in my life. They kept it consistent. When I ordered the # 10 I thought to myself, yep it was the # 10 almost 10 years ago too lol Tempura is on point too. If youre looking for teriyaki in Glendale, this is the spot.
