Chiba Japanese Restaurant
7515 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91605, United States
This is the best Japanese restaurant in the San Fernando Valley. If you want quality Japanese food, come to Chiba’s.
Sushi Ran
10658 Riverside Dr, North Hollywood, CA 91602, United States
Customer service is very below average. Just another ignorant Chinese/Japanese/Korean restaurant here just to take American money. With little respect if any respect just running a business with no integrity.
Tamashii Ramen House
11024 Magnolia Blvd C, North Hollywood, CA 91601, United States
Meh.Nice looking restaurant with nice outdoor seating. Mediocre food, terrible Thai iced tea. Grainy and bitter, not something that is easy to screw up. Everything that is not soup is a little spicy. Menu has lots of options but a little pricey. Polite service, but not for people looking for great food.If you are a local and want a decent bowl of noodles, Japanese style, with a nice environment to to get out of the house, this is for you.If you are looking for impressive food, look elsewhere.
Ramen Izakaya NoHo
10829 Oxnard St, North Hollywood, CA 91606, United States
This place is a hidden gem - my wife and I were starving so I found this spot not to far away from an appointment we had, and we were blown away by the service, and the deliciousness of the food! The ramen was, no kidding, the best ramen Ive ever had. Now Ill be the first to tell you that Ive not had 100s of ramen before, but I do enjoy some ramen every once and a while. This ramen has given me a new craving that I will be coming back for to this spot and Ill also be bringing friends and family here as well. My wife loved her dish, and we both left full, happy and with smiles on our faces. The staff is so friendly, brought us our food timely, were so professional, were genuinely kind people and I wish other restaurants would copy their model of hospitality.Ill add that the night after we dined here we went to the NY Times Best restaurant in LA, a Thai spot that I wont mention the name of, and it was NOTHING in comparison to this place. If youre sitting in your car, starving, just go here, youll be glad you did!
Yoshinoya
6050 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606, United States
I went to the location today and placed an order and was helped by a girl named Lupe. I ordered two combo bowls with drinks and egg rolls and 1 cole slaw. I should have double checked my order before leaving but of course I always trust fast food places and hope that they will get it right. I drove 10 mins to get home and when I get back NO COLESLAW. So I went back because I love my food with the cole slaw and when I get there Lupe was cleaning tables and continued to clean tables while I waited even though she saw me waiting. I've worked Fast food places and believe me I would of stopped to help the customer, especially since she had just helped me and should have known I was back because something most likely went wrong...anyways she finally helps me and very rudely she asked how she can help, I told her “you missed my cole slaw!” Never did she apologize..and that honestly made it worse! I'm really not the type to complain because I know how it is. After she gave me the cole slaw I asked “can I PLEASE get extra siracha sauce” and her response was “well how many did you take?” Keep in mind SHE messed up my order. I responded and said “you gave me two!” And then she said “well it's only one per plate!” That just got me 10 times more upset!!!!! It's like where is your Customer service!!!!?????? I told her “the least you can do is give me an extra sauce after you messed up my order” and of course with the biggest attitude she said she couldn't! I don't like being the person that complaints and believe me I don't but I have never ever had this type of service at a yoshinoya restaurant. I am very disappointed that people like her actually get hired! Please keep her in the kitchen since she clearly doesn't know how to run the front counter!!!
Noho Ramen
11009 Burbank Blvd Ste 108, North Hollywood, CA 91601, United States
First time trying this place. Ordered delivery from them through Postmates and my order arrived early, very well packaged. Let me tell you, I have tried some ramen here and there but hadnt found anything that satisfies what I imagine tasting when I see an anime character enjoying some hot ramen on tv. Its a personal preference thing for sure, but other ramen I tried just seemed a bit lacking. This place was different. It. Was. DELICIOUS! We tried the chicken ramen and spicy miso ramen with a side of garlic edamame. The broths for both were so flavorful, especially the spicy miso broth. It was a kind of peppery spice, strong but pleasant. The chicken in the chicken ramen had a hint of charred flavor, like chicken fresh off a grill, and had lots of fresh veggies(a little corn, spinach, lots of beans sprouts, seaweed, etc.). The edamame had chili peppers mixed in(no seeds), but the beans themselves are not spicy. I think they used roasted garlic, too, which we thoroughly enjoyed! Definitely give this restaurant a try, even if just as a treat. They are very reasonably priced for the quality, Im so glad I ordered from them. Also, be patient and remember these are human beings preparing your meal.
Sushi 101
11331 Moorpark St, North Hollywood, CA 91602, United States
I once asked a Japanese friend at the gym which sushi place he would recommend, so weve been going to 101 for 20 years since. So if you like Un-slick and cheaper by a lot in an ugly strip mall…. It reminds me of the place in Tokyo in the series Midnight Diner on Netflix. It has achieved not trying/Is -ness.Last night we ordered a generous amount in an a la carte variety that included items we've never had, like Yellowtail collar, and mushroom Miso soup, for example. All served quickly with excellent taste. My wife asked me to guess the price and I guessed $45 and it was $35, including beer. They were about 75% filled on a Friday night at 6:30. So if you want quality and you have an accepting attitude… They wont yell Ohai-O! when you come in, just a warm welcome. My favorite tell is that you have to step over an unceremonious drainpipe three feet directly in front of the front door. The place is like one of those famous Japanese teacups with the rough finish mistake i.e. “wabi sabi” glaring out at you lovingly. The whole place says “wabi sabi” come to think of it. Their unglamorous friendliness is refreshing.Btw, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie were playing softly in the background as we walked in. Louis Armstrong and other early Jazz was also played. Who does that? I think Joni Mitchell and Elvis C. might go there buy not Elton John, if you get my drift.Try it. Or dont, because I love it 75% full, but 85% wouldnt wreak it. I only risk telling you because we love them and feel better saying so out loud.
Aki Shabu
5560 Vineland Ave C, North Hollywood, CA 91601, United States
My husband and I are addicted to this great restaurant and excellent food. We eat at Aki Shabu in North Hollywood most weeks. “All you can eat” comes with a big variety of veggie's & noodles, and rice, delicious hot & cold appetizers, raw fish, crab, & shrimp. Only beverages are not included. You can reorder the meat or order different meats and take as many appetizers and vegetables as you can eat. My eyes are usually bigger than my stomach - but be aware: there is an additional charge of $5.99 per plate left over. The dessert - strawberry ice cream - can not be reordered. “All you can eat” should implicate it too, but there are very strict in giving you just one portion of the refreshing ice cream. The service is great, the owners polite & helpful, he appetizers are perfect; it's a clean restaurant, the big variety of food is always fresh & delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and fun. Sometimes a little bit noisy, depending on the guests.Just be aware of a waiting line in the evening if you are fewer than 4 people. Groups of 4 people & more can make a reservation on the phone.
Teppanyaki Madness
6467 Vineland Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91606, United States
Great service! The staff is helpful and accommodating. They make a great meal considering the circumstances!of no tables or brick and mortar comfort. There are some chairs to sit and wait for your food but this is more a take home and eat than anything else. Surrounding this venue are other choices of food and also dessert. Especially if you are in the mood for churros, funnel cake and crepes. The filet was asked to be medium rare and the shrimp was firm but tender. There is a great garlic and butter flavor with soy sauce. There are a variety of sauces to take with including teriyaki, sriracha, spicy mayo, ginger sauce (my personal favorite) and even more garlic sauce. I do miss a nice mustard sauce like the restaurant version of this meal.My shrimp dinner was $18 and the filet was $22 (regular size 42 oz). There is a menu available online through Instagram but not one displayed. Only pictures with no prices listed. Also only single proteins are listed in the menu. Any combos must be asked for the price (I.e shrimp & filet $36 (reg sz) and lobster & shrimp $40 (reg sz)).I would come again if I want my meal fast and easy without the show! ?
Makinjang Sushi
12727 Sherman Way Unit B06, North Hollywood, CA 91605, United States
Came in kinda early (to beat the rush this place is always packed) was seated right away so I ordered for take out. Havent got my food yet, but I am salivating for the meal to come. My hostess/server was very polite and laughed at my corny jokes with a serious bellow and I couldnt tell if she thought I was funny or was her sense of humor as skewed as mine. At any rate she is wonderful and very professional. If I still had my restaurant I would poach her in a heartbeat! Always great fish and noodles.
