Matsuyama Restaurant (Matsumoto Sushi)
835 S Tracy Blvd, Tracy, CA 95376, United States
A bit pricey for the portion sizes even among Japanese restaurants, but generally well-made and of good quality and freshness. Definitely several steps above the nearby Mikasa.
Kengo Sushi

I happen to luck out and was off that day and was looking for some Japanese food. this restaurant location has been turned over several times by several owners including another Japanese food restaurant owner, I think.I entered and sat at the counter since I dined alone. It was great food! Finally, some good Japanese food in Tracy!I have taken several friends and my family dines here as well. They are now regulars. Not because I took them. But because of the obvious great food and atmosphere.I remember our friends dining here and stayed til closing. They let us stay and chat and had a great time. We appreciated it so much!I get a complimentary sushi from being one of the first, if not the first patron. Just sheer luck.Thank you, Kengo sushi!

My brother, sister, and I requested three orders. We ordered two shrimp with beef combo meals, and one teriyaki chicken. While we were waiting for our order to be cooked I recognized that shrimp and chicken were almost finished being cooked, except for the beef, which wasnt there. I was curious to know since there was still unoccupied space to cook, so I asked the guy Where is the beef? He answered Dont be in a hurry. For me, it doesnt make sense to what he replied. If I were him, I would say other words besides Dont be in a hurry. I told him, Youre not answering my question, with him repeating Dont be in a hurry. Thats why I looked at his name tag, YANG. Then he noticed me trying to read his name tag and later went to the kitchen .The other guy which is the cook doesnt say anything .I dont say YANG came out until we get our orders. . I gotta say this: P-O-O-R C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R S-E-R-V-I-C-E! I think Yang should take a class: How to Handle a Customer. I went on 01/30/17 at 12:59 PM at West Valley Mall. Again, his name is Y A N G. ?

Tracy Thai Restaurant

Outdoor seating was available, and it feels safe to eat outside. Food is fantastic, flavorful and good portions. I had the basil fried rice, no meat or egg, with extra vegetables, and it was the best fried rice Ive ever had. I also had some of the pad thai - so flavorful. I went with a party of 9 family members, on a Sunday night, and the staff was very attentive, taking away empty plates quickly and refilling tea and water frequently without being overwhelming. The entrees are served family style and the prices are reasonable. The fried ice cream was better than what Ive had at Japanese restaurants Ive been to - make room for dessert.
Cafe Dazzling
1876 W 11th St, Tracy, CA 95376, United States
My daughter and I were looking for a place to eat dinner at in Tracy on our way back from the East Bay. We were afraid there wouldnt be too many options as it was almost 9 pm. I wanted ramen, and I used Yelp to find a spot close to our location as we approached Tracy. Cafe Dazzling popped up, and the reviews looked positive. We were surprised by how many people were dining inside. That was our first good sign. They had a varied selection of teas, boba, appetizers, and different soups; including hot soups and ramen. My daughter ordered an iced fruit tea, which was very sweet, refreshing, and filled with fresh fruits dancing around the cup. We ordered the popcorn chicken as an appetizer because it seemed to be a popular item. We also both ordered ramen. I ordered the spicy miso and added extra spice. My daughter went with the original miso and asked for a few items to be omitted, which they happily obliged. The popcorn chicken came out piping hot, and I made the mistake of popping a whole piece in my mouth, OUCH! I guess I never learn ? they offered ranch, ketchup, or sweet chili sauce for dipping. The sweet chili sauce went really well with the chicken! My ramen was super flavorful and packed with pork chasu, but not overpowered with cabbage or bamboo shoots like a lot of places tend to do. The spice level was perfect! I was able to eat most of my bowl and finish off most of the broth without getting that chalky consistency at the bottom of the bowl! It is quite loud inside, due to them constantly blending drinks, but that gets drowned out by the sound of families enjoying their meals and their company. Cafe Dazzling is open late, which is great because they were busy the whole time we were there. The servers were super nice and attentive while keeping busy bussing the tables as guests left and checking on the customers that were still dining! I will definitely be back to try one of their hot pot style soups, probably at night ?
Zoku Contemporary Japanese
1846 W 11th St, Tracy, CA 95376, United States
If you’re looking for a decent and vibey contemporary Japanese restaurant in the Valley, look no further than Zoku’s in Tracy. They’re located quite conveniently in Gateway Plaza off of 11th and Corral Hollow — and I’ve always wanted to try this place, until last night. The vibe in this place is immaculate, and I thought I’d share my experience on this particular restaurant:The food in this restaurant is not only exquisite, but it was also very rich in flavor and in texture as well. We ordered an udon (mind you, tempura was seven dollars each so I was taken a bit aback by that), but I was thoroughly impressed with the batter and how deep fried they made it. Talk about hot sake in a Japanese restaurant — I think that was a first that I’ve seen (at least in the many years that I was legally able to drink). We also ordered some rolls as well — specifically, the spicy crab roll and the avocado mango roll. Both were absolutely rich in flavor, I just love how many sushi rolls there were named after Tracy, which you have got to give a try — they’re a must at this restaurant! The service and hospitality started off a little awkward — however, the lead server came up and took care of us and make sure that our needs were met. I absolutely appreciate the patronizing and exquisite service. The atmosphere was expansive, and it was open seating, although I wish other patents would be more considerate of the people around them because we were a little bit annoyed at them. Not bad saying, but just be on the lookout for obnoxious people at those sushi bar sometimes.Overall, I would come back again and try more of their food!
Mikasa Asian Bistro & Sushi
2610 S Tracy Blvd #110, Tracy, CA 95376, United States
Mostly made with good and fresh ingredients, but not up to the quality I usually expect from Japanese restaurants around here. Tempura breading was over-oily and soft, pot stickers had slightly undercooked contents, the salad was limp instead of crisp, and the katsudon was, again, over-oily with soft, almost wet breading. Especially noteworthy since I live almost literally a block away, so the breaded foods shouldnt have had enough time to absorb that much steam.
