POKE POKE BAR & Juices
6424 Platt Ave, West Hills, CA 91307, United States
Yes!Its fresh, quality food at an affordable price.Great, casual, t shirt and jeans spot for a date, families, tourists, work lunch, etc. When you walk in, right off the back, everything is extremely well taken care of. The place is spotless, tables and chairs neatly placed. You get a sense of how structured and organized it is.On this occasion, I was greeted by the two kids working behind the counter with a smile and a hello. Bonus points there. They were really friendly at walking me through the ordering procedure. And it is pretty simple once you place your first order. Theyll walk you through the process.I highly recommend the Hawaiian tuna and the regular tuna. But the salmon is also fresh as well! Cant go wrong there either. An oddball was the scallops marinated in mayonnaise. Maybe a little too much mayonnaise, management if youre paying attention. But worth a shot as one of your proteins if you want to try something different.I still give this place, the service come of the food 5 stars. The only thing that I would like to see changed is the 50 Cent extra charge for the eel sauce. I mean come on come on? 50 cents? I guess it is what it is. But it would be nice if it was included as one of the normal sauces offered had no extra charge.Just to quickly summarize the food here. Its delicious! Its everything you expect in a poke Bowl. I think the real value is getting the monster size, where you get to pick five proteins. The serving size of each spoonful is definitely more than what you get at other places. Also, I went with the brown rice this time, and it was extremely well made. Nice chew to it, not overcooked, not salty at all. It tasted magnificent with a nice nutty flavor against the fresh Hawaiian tuna, and all the other toppings I threw on my order. The edamame is fresh, brightly colored, the seaweed salad wasnt too overly sweet, and I have to highlight the Masago and Ginger being brite, fresh and tasty.Parking: piece of cake, especially on a afternoon. Lots of free parking all around.Just keep an eye out for an occasional homeless guy walking through. Where dont you find the homeless these days, right? When I come here late at night, probably not. Just because of that one homeless person, or two. But during the day, mid-morning through about early afternoon, you should be fine. The only other odd thing about this place is that it faces due west. So in the late afternoon, that sun is so strong about an hour or two before sunset. So eating outside can get interesting if you dont mind being in direct sunlight. There are no umbrellas, very little shade at all.I will definitely be back here. One main thing I would love to see happen is if this place opened up a second location, or moved entirely to maybe a different spot like at the commons, the Topanga social, or maybe the Topanga village. But they have to keep the prices as is.In summary, what makes this place great is that its good quality food, made to order, at an affordable price. If the pricing goes up, you lose the essence of what this place is.

Thankful for this complex having a well-run Wal-Mart, where a staffer helped me find dog treats (only $13 for a box of 100 large-sized dog Milk Bones!), and then being able to eat at the friendly Hometown Buffet to finally sate my hunger after a long day!Friendly Hometown Buffet hosts & servers also told me not to rush in eating (I got there around 8pm on a Thursday night) since theyll only start putting away the buffet items at 845pm.I tend to go here before or after work appointments in for affordable personal errands. The diverse staffers throughout the various Fallbrook Center establishments (fyi Ive also had positive experiences in the Olive Garden, Ross Dress for Less, Sprouts, etc.) are all friendly, competent professionals.A welcoming retail/dining/service complex w/ lots of parking (as long as you dont mind walking a bit, depending on what youre looking for), where fellow consumers are generally polite, relaxed people - not like other multi-use centers where too many tweakers, aggressive peddlers/panhandlers, angry-at-the-world/narcissistic, etc. folks seem to converge. So, even though I take long work trips from all over LA/Ventura County, I do my best to relax, eat, and shop at the ever-reliable Fallbrook Center when work projects takes me to the West San Fernando Valley/Venturw County-adjacent areas ;)
