Shila Korean BBQ
1205 Herndon Ave #104, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
It was late in the evening and we were on our way home after spending all day sightseeing and biking in Yosemite Valley. Realizing it would take 2+ hours to drive home, we decided we better have dinner first. Most places were closed or near closing time but we googled and found Shila’s schedule fit our needsThe location is situated in a shopping mall. It’s Saturday evening but the place has only a few patrons. Not much atmosphere compare to other Korean restaurants that I’d been to so I begin to worry, but I’m here for the food.Well, as soon as we got seated, our waitperson came and brought us water and took our first order of the night. She was extremely friendly, courteous, and patience throughout the night. We are big eaters and we kept ordering all the meat dishes and she kept bringing them out. Their only rule is you can l only order three meat plates at a time but that’s the way it is for most restaurants. And guess what! Every dish we ordered was pretty good. The pork belly and beef brisket were sliced thin and come plain or marinated with a medium spice sauce. The marinated rib eye steak was also deliciously prepared. The jumbo prawns were huge and were very tasty. The side dishes could have tasted better but honestly, it was near closing time. All the other items, like the steamed egg, etc were pretty good. The vegetable plate with the lettuce, mushroom, and an assortment of peppers was fresh and crispy.I was amazed how often the servers kept swapping out our burnt grills for a fresh clean grill, without asking?. Finally, we loved that they gave us the opportunity to put in our last order before they closed the kitchen down for the night. No attitude or disrespect, just making sure our hunger is satisfied.Very pleased with how our day ended. This establishment gets a big thumbs up.

Bubble Bee Clovis

Very kind, family-owned & operated new acai bowl and chia pudding spot in clovis. Owners are still working out some business signage, menu adjustments, and getting to know their products a bit better but were kind to double check that their chia protein bowl was dairy-free for me to enjoy it. Their acai bowl had fresh ingredients and good pricing for the size in this area. Wish they would consider blending the acai sorbet with different bases like plant-based milks and their protein powder to improve the texture a bit but maybe they might in the coming weeks as they get more settled. Beautiful atmosphere to dine in at and welcoming staff. Invited my dog to join me inside during a hot day and even gave him ice chips. Will definitely be back for more!

Date night for my wife and I and I said no usual spot. She found this place and that was all the decisions I had before going.Going in the place was well spaced out and clean. Social distance still enforced and theyre following to the T. We were seated promptly and the waitress came for our drinks. Good diverse selection of beers, definitely something for all palettes. After a bit of time my wife decided on the Korean tacos and I went for the Dip It, basically a French dip. Both of us chose fries for the side.Amazing. Thats all thats needed to be said. The bread on the Dip It was perfect. Nice crunch on the outside, soft but stood up to the dip on the inside. A bit of an addition to a usual French dip adding sautéed mushrooms and onion, but it only enhanced the flavor. My wifes Korean tacos were presented beautifully. No, I didnt taste them. However my wife thought they were amazing.Beers were great, service was on point, the chefs brought their A game. Whoever designed the food on the menu put love into it, and it comes out in the food. The ONLY reason its four and not five stars is the tacos. Like I said they were presented beautifully, however I could tell that the tortillas they used were store bought. If you want store bought thats fine, but everything else was thought out meticulously. At least get Vallarta fresh made corn tortillas if youre not going to make them in house.Am I being too harsh? No. Lets put it this way. My daughter didnt like corn tortillas. Then my wife started making them at home with maseca you buy at the store. Now my daughter pulls them right off the pan to eat them.I get it, store bought is easy, but with everything else that I saw I could see the love. One more step up on the tortillas and this is a 5 star review.

Not the best experience I have had in an Asian or Pho restaurant. My sons Pho was ok, but the noodles were starchy. I ordered a Korean BBQ beef plate, and the beef was fatty and not very appetizing. We ordered egg rolls to start and they were ok. They had more meat than veges, which it is just my preference to have more veges, but if you like a lot of meat you may like them. All in all I probably wouldnt go back.

Ramen Hayashi Clovis
1755 Herndon Ave, Clovis, CA 93611, United States
My first experience was good and bad. For those who are new to this restaurant have someone go sit at a table you want because this is a pay first then eat after type of restaurant. The food is good. I have no complaint but customer service for my first time experience was horrible. Me and my family sat outside because inside was getting full. I ask the server who gave us our food if she can turn on the heater for us and she said she dont know how. She went inside and got someone that does but they didnt turn on our heater they went to the other side of the patio to turn on theres. They never came back . I went inside to wait in line and ask Joyce if she can help turn on the heater for us because my kids are getting cold. 5 minutes later the same server with burgundy hair with the black apron came back with another server to deliver the rest of our food. When they deliver our food they instantly ran inside right after I took the food. Even my wife notice how fast they ran inside. Look at your camera if you have too. Today 2/17 around 6:20-6:30pm. You will see your server drop off the food and ran inside. Now Im upset because I order 4 plate of food and got 2 fork and no one was able to come out and help with the heater. I went back inside and waited in line and Joyce came to ask me what was wrong. I said this is my 3rd time asking if someone came turn on the heater for us and get us another fork. She immediately jump on it. She got me a fork and come out right away to turn on the heater. Thank you Joyce for helping. Im upset that I have to ask 3 times. If there was a bigger table I would of sat inside but sadly every big table was taken. The lady who gave us our food should learn how to turn on the heater . I seen Joyce did it and it was easy. I wouldnt touch it though because I dont want to be liable for any damage.

Coltons Social House
1150 Shaw Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
⭐okay, get comfy, and enjoy this detailed review, suggestions for improvement at the end as well⭐? Atmosphere: Coltons social house is fun and inviting the moment you walk into the seating area, they have fun bright colors, and for bigger parties they have private booths with a curtain for privacy but the there is no roof so air can move in and out with ease. All the lights go on at night, and they have music playing outdoors. I would recommend this place for family and for a first date. They have tons of drink options to accompany the food they offer.❗The. Food. Here. Was so fresh and delightful. They didnt have the bus bar open and thats where some of the social issues was comming from for them. They sat me and the other 2 people in my party at a metal style lunchroom table with attached chairs. They did have an umbrella with the table but the table was on a slanted hill, and the umbrella kept moving on its own, making shade impossible for 2 people, so we were in the sun for a bit.?We ordered the fresh gauc and salsa with their house made chips. The chips were fresh, crispy and hot! However they needed more salt or seasoning and there was not salt or pepper offered or provided. There was also an abundance of dip, and hardly enough chips for 3, maybe 2 people but thats cutting it for what you pay for an appetizer. There was also a tomato sticker in our salsa and... it wasnt gross but be more careful? At least we know our food is fresh I suppose.?I ordered a social house comfort burger with the mac and jalapeños, with a spicy spread (that how the burger comes), and IT was delicious! But so so spicy, they need a spice warming next to it because.. omg. I order the onion rings with my burger and they were battered thinly and crisp, what was great, they were not overly battered and fried to make them super thick and overly crunchy like other places.?my other 2 people accompanying me ordered shrimp tacos, a simple burger, sweet potatoe fries with a cinnamon honey dip, and garlic fries. Out of all 3 starch sides, the clear winner was the garlic fries. Pay extra for them they are amazing. If you dont like Garlic I highly recommend the sweet fries with the honey cinna. dip, comming in at a close second, the dip made it so sweet and delectable offsetting the savory sweet potatoe fri.?Over all, this place gets a great solid 4/5 stars. Our sever lebeon (im so sorry for buterching the spelling) was attentive and a wonderful host. She had personality and offered recommendations and helpful hints when ordering. The patience with her was wonderful, when giving us time to read and look over the menu. The Food was fresh, served quickly and made to our likeness.⚠️SUGGESTIONS/ IMPROVEMENTS⚠️1.) Try to avoid putting your tables on really uneven ground and instead of beer coasters as a leaving agent for the tables, get some quick set pavement or sandbags. These can be found at little cost at any hardware store and looks more professional then a stack of coasters.2.) Serve. More. Chips. Tortillas and flour are quick and inexpensive. Serve more chips depending on the amount of people in party, or even enough to match the dip that was bought with the appetizer. It could even be a good idea to maybe do bottomless chips for the price of a simple appetizer.3.) PAY ATTENTION to detail. Im calling out the chefs this time, our waitress knocked out of the park with service and could have been blamed for this. Have your cook staff look more carefully for things that do not belong in the food, especially when pouring into individual cups to serve. It doesnt hurt to do a quick inspection before its handed to the patron.

Slice Of India
1345 N Willow Ave #110, Clovis, CA 93619, United States
Very unprofessional service. This is an incident from July 2, 2022. Visiting Fresno, we came to this place for dinner. 20 minutes in and no table service. Then, an Indian waitress came by and apologized for the delay since a waiter was off-duty and the restaurant was busy ( from what we observed, there were 2 other tables apart from us). We said that's not a problem and began ordering. Disclaimer: The rest of this review is really about the service from the waitress and might not reflect the quality of service from other waiters. We ordered a bunch of items (appetizers, beverage, curry and breads) and the waitress said that 1 curry wouldn't suffice for the table (we were 3 adults) - she forced us to order more 3 times. We said we will order later if required. That's when the fiasco started - the waitress insisted we order right away and that we will not be allowed to order later (the restaurant had 3 good hours to close). We then said we will be fine with what we ordered already and she forced us to order more. Then she commented that it is worthless for her to wait the table when such quantities are ordered and made a face with a “go to hell” expression. This was, by far, the rudest service we have gotten in our lives. We cancelled the order and left.Amidst all this, there was a party of 6 that came in and was impolitely chased out of the restaurant quoting “busy” and “can't handle” by the same waitress. There were empty tables available. For what it's worth, take your business to “Curry out Clovis” in the same area - same cuisine, less pricey but wonderful food and people!

Ooi Japanese Restaurant
840 Herndon Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, United States
My husband and I usually go to Ooi for our sushi fix. The service is never good, but it didn't really bother us because they had good sushi. It wasn't until I had out of town relatives visiting that we went and received the worst service ever! We were a group of 11 adults and 5 kids. We got there at 8:45pm on a Saturday and their hours for dinner online was posted til10pm. We arrived and instead of just telling us that they were closing and not accepting any orders, they seated us (because they probably wanted the extra $185 tab) and it wasn't until we ordered out first order from their all you can eat menu that the waitress told us they were closing at 9:30 and last call is at 9pm. Half the items we ordered from the kitchen was not available because “they were closing”! When asked the waitress simply said, “we are closing early because we were slow so we don't have fried rice”. I told the waitress we thought they closed at 10pm, but she was positive that they closed at 9:30pm and for us to “never trust online hours, only trust their posted hours at the door”. While sitting there arguing with the waitress, more customers walk in and they all were turned away! We even heard two guys say they thought the restaurant closed at 10pm!!So, when we left the restaurant, I checked their hours posted out the door and indeed, I was right! Ooi's dinner hour ends at 10PM!!! I am never going back again. We paid full price for their all you can eat and didn't even receive the all you can eat food. Service was terrible and the waitress kept giving us the sign to hurry up and go.They lost a long time customer. My husband and I have been going there since the first opened back when we were in college and when Cesar was still the waiter.
