BIBIBOP Asian Grill
1401 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA 90401, United States
Really enjoy the food, but the 2 times we have gone, we seem to get the short end of the stick portion wise. The kid was frugal with his scoops. Another employee helped the people behind us, and he got a nice bowl full of food. Are food was below the height of the bowl. I was still hungry after eating the large size bowl. The flavors are great. I love the noodles. The chicken is okay but lacks flavor, in my opinion. But thankfully, all the add-ons make up for it. Also tried the purple rice, which was good, but noodles all the way!Sadly, there isnt one of these anywhere near us in the 818. Also sad is what the city of Santa Monica has turned into. It used to be so beautiful. Now their are transients everywhere and the smell of urine outsode, in the parking structures etc. A transient walked in while we were eating and asked an employee for a spoon to eat his ice cream, then took someones cup that was left on a table and started filling it up with fountain soda, the employee went to the dinning area and told him he needed to leave. The transient drank his soda and then turned around and splashed the rest of the drink into the workers faces.Welcome to the new America. No punishment for petty crimes anymore. We live in an anything goes society. The voters are getting exactly what they wanted, I guess. There is no accountability for your actions. If you want something just take it. Police no longer enforce petty crimes or theft. Very sad times. God, I sound like an old person now.Anyways, def try this place. Its like the Asian version of Chipotle. Giving it a 4 out of 5 simply because the portions were not the same as everyone else who ordered after me.
Mom & Bop
1707 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405, United States
Love this little mom and pop Korean restaurant. Only a few tables, the feeling is intimate and the food is fabulous .We ordered the kimchi fried rice, glass noodles, beef and chicken bimbimpap and Korean fried chicken. Everything was yummy and fresh and their kimchi was really really good.Tiny parking lot so be prepared. Highly recommend this little restaurant and kids already want to come back!

It is so good, and I dont want to write this review in google because I want to keep this restaurant only for myself.Because I live near here, I often deliver food when I feel so tired of cooking. After I met Toms sushi, I save my time because I never concerned about diner menu! Yay!They offer not only Japanese Fresh yummy sushi, also have Korean fusion style food.Strongly recommend Seared Salmon sushi & Caliente Roll & BBQ Bento & Kimchi Fried rice.Thank you for all the food Tom!
Jesse Boy Korean Fried Chicken (Hollywood)
6254 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038, United States
#LosAngeles #Jesse_Boy“Globalization of Korean seasoned chicken!! “I Love ”Korean-style chicken is popular in the United States these days. There is no difference from Japanese chicken in that it is fried right away, but I think the appeal of Korean chicken is its more diverse flavors and intensity. There is a Korean chicken restaurant that opened in 2018 and is gaining sensational popularity, so I visited it for lunch.#atmosphereThis store features a small, clean, modern interior. When you walk in, whether its the owner or a clerk... (not Korean), please greet them with a big smile and a friendly voice. Its an open kitchen, so you can watch them frying and cooking while making a fire show... The cook is Korean.#menuOrdering is Build My Own.There are two main types, ‘chicken wings’ and ‘chicken tenders’, and you can choose between soy sauce or spicy sauce. Complete your meal with your choice of salad, French fries, or jasmine rice as a side.I ordered spicy wings and soy sauce tenders and chose French fries and jasmine rice as sides.#fried chickenMake sure the fries are crispy. Its not like regular fried food, but has a nice crispy texture that feels like its made with rice flour. They originally gave us 5 wings, but perhaps it was a mistake or because we are Korean, they gave us 6 (thank you).I tend to intentionally overcook it to make it a little crispier overall. In the case of chicken wings, there is no problem with overcooking them because they become more crispy, but in the case of tenders, you should never overcook them because the breast meat loses its moisture and becomes dry. However, the tenders here are not the thin tenders that are the thickness of a finger in Korea, but are huge, almost the size of a whole breast, so they have the strength to withstand even a little overcooking. After eating it with my wife, I think the chicken wings are a bit more delicious, and the size of the tenders is overwhelming, so I wouldnt recommend it unless you like breast meat.#sauceJB Original: It is a soy sauce, but unlike Korean soy sauce, it is not sweet and has a strong salty and savory taste. Its salty, but it actually brings out the flavor of the chicken and you can eat it without getting sick of it.Spicy: The soy sauce has more spiciness... Its not regular spicy, but its a refreshing but long-lasting spicy taste that comes back. The more you eat it, the more spicy it becomes. Additional sources:- Spicy sauce: I dont know the name, but if you like spicy food, the sauce they gave you to add more is amazing. It looks like its roasted red pepper oil... but the spiciness is amazing. It has a subtle fire scent and is very attractive. If you take this sauce home and eat it with dishes like fried dumplings, its power increases ten thousand times. Its a really well-made sauce, so I want to ask for a big serving next time.- Spicy Mayo: Mayo that is being tested and not yet served to customers. They gave me some French fries to eat with it. Its very delicious. Its much tastier than eating French fries dipped in ketchup, so be sure to ask for them.- Pickled radishes: Since its a Korean chicken restaurant, they give you a little bit of pickled radish... Please give me a little bit haha. I dont know if theres an additional charge, but it was really refreshing and well made, so I think it would be a good idea to ask for more.#sideFrench fries are freshly fried, so theres nothing special about them, but theyre extremely delicious. The big hit is Jasmine Rice.I never thought such delicious would be possible in the United States. The combination of salty sauce and savory jasmine rice is truly fantastic.#serviceThe server who takes your order is so kind that you feel embarrassed. He explained things well and took care of everything for me... I think Ive never seen such a kind person in America. The consideration for customers is also perfect.#SynthesisI came here to see Korean-style chicken spreading more and more into the culture. Not only is it popular, but it also tastes great, making me realize once again that there is no end to the transformation of chicken. This place is our regular and we plan to go often.Hundred Thums UP!!
moonbowls (Healthy Korean Bowls- West LA)
11419 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025, United States
I had it doordashed but it was taking so long and in the end after over an hour my order was cancelled because DoorDash notified me saying something went wrong with the driver. I know it's not the restaurants fault, but I had to reorder and the process from my first initial order to getting it to my doorstep took 2 hours. I was super hungry so I ate the whole thing and — It's good, definitely packed with a lot of flavor (with seasoning) so I feel like a healthy meal could easily turn into a high sodium packed meal and could feel heavy. That's mainly why I rate it 3 stars, it's not as ‘clean' as BiBiBop's bowls. (If we were to compare bowls) but I like that they have a brown rice option, and their fried egg was delicious. The roasted broccoli was a bit too over seasoned but I think that's the way they do it. It was an okay experience; I think if you're starving you'll still eat it and finish it and feel satisfied but it wasn't what I had anticipated which was something with super clean ingredients. I think moonbowls is one of those places where there could be different opinions about it but neither is right or wrong. I personally probably wouldn't get bowls here anymore, but others may find that they like the flavor!

When the host checked us in, I think he’s a bit new, so he was still all over the place. I made a reservation but was still sat in the corner, not experiencing the nice atmosphere of the restaurant at all. And our waiter also seems like he was new, but he tried to be as friendly as possible. The savory food was pretty good, the pimped out ramen was tasty except it was a bit stuck together due to the dryness. But the bacon was tasty. The soufflegg was just ok I was expecting it to be more juicy like the Korean egg casserole but this was a bit dry. The moffle was good and the brie was a nice compliment. My friends had the hojicha latter and we DO NOT recommend, it tasted like milk. I had the sesame einspanner and it was good. What was super disappointing is their Thai tea crepe cake. We wanted to try their pink guava basque cheesecake but it was sold out at 2pm. So we opt for the Thai tea crepe since it’s one of their signature. But it tasted like NOTHING, it wasn’t sweet, no Thai tea flavor, can’t believe they charge us $19 for that!!! It’s even more expensive than lady M what a ripoff. They are also suppose the validate the parking but the machine was broken at the host table so we had to call the parking garage management when we were leaving and they were giving us a hard time. Overall, the savory food was good, but the overall experience would not make me want to go back.
Chicken Republic
6775 Santa Monica Blvd #8, Los Angeles, CA 90038, United States
If you are a Chicken Sandwich connoisseur it would be in your best interest to seek out and get fed here ASAP. There is more to the menu than meets the tastebuds. I played the traditional sauce of Nashville, which in my fine opinion exceeds legendary flavor status. I also had a sampling of my wife's lovely and spot on Buffalo and blue cheese, please do read into that. There is more to explore at this quaint yet outstanding place to grub. We will return for more culinary delights at a price point that is surprisingly outrageously affordable. Maximum value. I'm calling out that Chicken Sandwich chain from my neck of the woods. They may waffle fries but the Republic demanded shoestring fries with nacho cheese diced pickles and onion, it's so good. You will not be disappointed, until it becomes a regular chain and is ruined by that thing we love commodification.
Katsu Bar
3032 Wilshire Blvd Suite C, Santa Monica, CA 90403, United States
Great vibes, great service and great food!Food:- Caprese Katsu Sando: Tastes just like what you think, a caprese in the form of a katsu sandwich. Wonderfully breaded chicken katsu with fresh sliced mozzarella and tomato. Enveloped by two slices of soft Japanese milk bread. Each bite is light and refreshing. Surprisingly was a big portion.- Egg Sando: perfectly cooked egg! Not over cooked or under cooked! The egg salad is also quite light and the hint of fresh dill only brings the whole egg Sando to the next level.- Draft Pineapple Cream Soda: I normally wouldn't review the fountain drinks but this place has draft specialty drinks! I got the pineapple cream soda which was so refreshing on a hot LA summer day!- Ringo Sparkling water: got these complimentary and they are a light refreshing sparkling water with the taste of apple.- Waffle fries: crispy and perfect waffle fries! Was slightly skeptical at first but they are quite complimentary to the soft Japanese milk bread.Service: Amazing service, although it's order via kiosk, the service staff was very attentive and checked in with their customers even after serving the food. Even gave out free complimentary Ringo sparkling water. 5/5 service.Setting: Great vibes, there is indoor and outdoor setting. Beautifully furnished and good tunes playing.
Rabano

NOT HEALTH NOR ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS PLACE:Don't be fooled as their marketing says otherwise…Eating here i just contributed to the world's plastic waste problem. We dined in still got huge single plastic cups and straws.Upon arrival I asked about the oil they use as many restaurants running their establishments strictly as a business ?using the cheapest oil such as canola or palm oil that have linked to serious health risks along with environmental issues. The answer was they just switched rosting their vegetables in palm oil. They clearly have no concerns about their customers' health nor about the environment. Cheapest kitchen salt, cheapest ingredients.I have zero trust eating here, drinking e.g. their lemonade which is labeled with “maple syrup” but really corn syrup with some maple… no thank you!
